We got the spicy miso and tonkotsu and both broths were a hit. They portions are large and the prices were very affordable. It looks like a small business with few staff. Mixed feelings. 2.5/3 stars I wanted to dine out for lunch as a treat. Possibly have a cocktail. But this wasn't the dining out experience that I was looking for today. When you walk in you don't know exactly what to do until you are told to sit anywhere. It feels like you get the whole restaurant's attention. A friendly couple runs it. They were very nice. But you never get asked if you need anything else. You aren't offered water or asked if everything is ok. No sauces on the table. The only way to get something is to look up until you make eye contact. Not exactly the relaxing experience you expect. No cocktails. Soda or boba tea available. My ramen was tasty. Love this place! The staff was so kind and made you feel taken care like family! Also the portion size was huge for how affordable it all was!! The lighting was also perfect with no overbearing bright lights. Everything was so delicious and authentic I ate myself into a food coma. I will be coming back. From the moment I walked in, the owners were so welcoming and sweet. We have done take out here many times but this was the first time we've had the opportunity to dine in. What an experience! The perfect cozy, cute spot for a low key rainy date night. The offer such an array of appetizers, ramen dishes and other authentic entrees. We tried a couple different appetizers we hadn't had before and everything was absolutely delicious! Instead of doing our regular ramen order we chose to try two of their authentic entree dishes. SO worth it! So much flavor! The entire staff are so sweet, they answered any questions we had, shared some recommendations of what is popular and what their favorites were. This is for takeout of the fried oysters and chicken karaage. They both came straight out of frozen bag. I watched them pour it into the deep fryer. The only saving grace was that it was early so at least I watched them pull it out of the freezer. If you are expecting hand battered and breaded chicken or oysters then you should be aware this is not the place. It basically seems like a "subway" of ramen. The ambiance is dark and dingy. Wow. Hidden in the endless monotony of strip malls on the Post Road, lies this gem. Simple menu but plenty of selections. Some of the best Ramen I've had, anywhere. Appetizers - the edamame were FRESH and cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly. No frozen crap here like you get in the all-you-can-eat sushi spots. Steamed Yaku-gyoza were also very very good. I had the Gyuniku Ramen (beef, bamboo shoots, kukurage mushrooms, scallions, egg), the flavor of the broth was deep and intense. I'd prefer the egg to be poached and not soft boiled l, but it was still delicious. My GF had the Hokkaido Kaisan Ramen (shrimp, squid, fish cakes). Ill take her at her word that it was VG. A nice touch, when packing the remaining soup to go, was the separation of noodles and broth into separate containers. Too many times have I brought home noodle dishes from other spots to find that the noodles absorbed the broth. We will return! read more

Although this wasn't quite as good as the Bulgogi Beef that I've had in Koreatown in Manhattan, it was very enjoyable. I would definitely order it again. Quaint, unassuming spot! The decor is simple, lots of seating. The service was a little slow; we went for lunch so they'd just opened. Within 30 minutes of us being there, quite a few other people showed up, thus reassuring our selection. I had the boba tea, mango flavor. It was my first time trying boba tea- it's just not for me, but the mango flavor was great! The chashu was tender and had a light smokiness to the sauce that built as you ate more. The bibimbap had a heat to it that built, unexpectedly, but wasn't overpowering. The egg on top and rice base both appealed to my fitness-conscious fiancé. I had the japchae- glass noodles (made from potato starch) with a sort of stir fry beef, mushrooms, and green peppers. Didn't disappoint- full of flavor, the shaved beef was super tender, and the peppers and mushrooms still had a plumpness left to them. Portion sizes are large! You get a lot for your money here. First time dining here. The area is spacious and clean. The chef was nice and came to greet us. The waitress, Mia was nice too and very sweet. We had their kimchee, the chef made it himself. Its a little on the spicy side. And we ordered two ramens. One beef ramen which was like sliced beef. I ordered a Chasu ramen. It was good. Next time I'm gonna ask then to grill it. Some dude said this ramen reminded him of being in Tokyo. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that person is talking about. I've had amazing ramen in Japan, Taiwan, California and even NYC. This spot unfortunately doesn't really compare. Also, saying it's the best in CT isn't really saying much since I can't even find a great pho restaurant here. The broth flavor was decent, but it was a little too fatty. The noodles weren't my preferred type (straight and thin), but they got the job done. Honestly, I thought they did a great job with the pork belly and soft boiled egg, which is definitely a plus. The service left much to be desired, but it just opened so that's just some of the normal growing pains. I was served by the person cooking in the kitchen, maybe an owner, as there was no wait staff at that time (1 pm). The TV in the corner was playing a repeating infomercial. The food is pretty good! I really enjoy their Pocatello restaurant. The food is good at the Sunnyside IDF location, however the fact that you can't even get a cup of water is not. You are expected to buy a bottle of water... that makes it hard especially with children. Most restaurants provide at least water for their customers.
