First time here. Easy parking in the front of the shop. There's a great selection of baked goods. The staff is very friendly. It will probably be very cozy in the fall. Hope to come back again.

The flavors of the baked goods were great! We had a blueberry croissant and a pistachio croissant which were 4/5 and a cinnamon roll that was a 3/5 The baked goods tasted a little on the older side/ not super fresh but we also came an hour before closing. The coffee was very straight forward options with plain flavors, pumpkin latte and rocket fuel were both 3/5.

The food is delicious but service is slow.

I appreciate and love the consistency at the G Café bakery on Orange Street. From the gentleman at the register to the quality and quantity of fresh food, everything is welcoming and delicious. The ingredients are top quality, and the finished presentation is appetizing and healthy. We had avocado toast with a nice garnish selection of cheese, tomato and greens. One of us ordered poached eggs and the other had scrambled and both were accompanied by a good size serving of bacon. Kudos to the chef as everything was served hot and cooked to perfection. We couldn't leave without also purchasing a cranberry walnut bread and a brownie. This is a well organized, professional establishment with the WOW factor that is a joy to support. Keep up the great work!

they're not many places i feel like i would give five stars but this place deserves six! wow - as soon you walk in you, you're greeted with such a welcoming energy from the staff. they offer so many pastries, baked good, fresh bread, and have an entire breakfast/lunch menu! it was so hard to not spend my entire bank account here but all the options looked incredible. i ended up getting a vanilla raspberry matcha while deciding what to get and thjs drink hit the spot! it was so smooth and silky and the flavors came through so nicely, i wish i had got the bigger size cup! i ended up purchasing their "fitness" multi grain bread which is outstanding. the hazelnut filled croissant cube was not only visually stunning, but tasted as good as it looks. definitely check this place out!

One of the creative croissant iterations -- does this not sound like a heavenly combination?

ORIGIN: Christian Fedora and Andrea Corazzini opened their first cafe in Branford, expanding to several locations since, including this one in New Haven. LOCATION: This cafe is located in downtown New Haven in the ground floor of the historic Palladium Building, with a quiet outdoor courtyard that is perfect on warm days. CONCEPT: G Cafe brings European baked goods to Connecticut, as well as well-executed versions of American classics, such as brownies and cronuts. EXPERIENCE: G Cafe is the kind of bakery for which you feel compelled to return to try all it offers. TIPS: Olive bread is available on Saturdays and can't be missed. German Stollen is prepared and wrapped in paper and ribbons in December... perfect holiday house gift.

I'm pretty much obsessed with G cafe and this Orange Street location is hands down my favorite one! The ambiance is so nice here and the staff members are always so friendly and warm. This location is pretty spacious with plenty of table tops and high top counter space to get work done or grab a bite with friends. I also love all the plants and decor at this location. It gives the place such a fun feel that goes perfectly well with the overall atmosphere. It's such a cute place to visit and conveniently located right in downtown New Haven. The pastries are delicious at all the G Cafe locations, but I recently tried the pumpkin bread muffin at this location and it was moist, flavorful and so so good! I got the muffin toasted and it was truly such a treat! It made getting work done a little more enjoyable.

Back for delicious start to the day. Great counter service love the decor. Worst part is having to decide what to indulge in

Their new hazelnut pastry! Oh yeah I going back for one this weekend!

This cafe is one of my fav's in New Haven! The owner are lovely, community minded decent people and that is important to me when I am choosing restaurants to support regularly. Great coffee! They keep it fresh all day. My goto Americano with hazelnut syrup and room for cream. I attended a function for a local nonprofit and the freshly baked breads, pastries, and veggie quiche are most of my hard choices! I have tried all of those over time and endorse all! There is a great breakfast and lunch menu. This is a real gem in downtown New Haven! I love that the space has indoor and outdoor seating options! I love that their are enough outlets to encourage getting some work done with a great cup of coffee and a treat.

Grilled Chicken Panini and soup of the day. Soup was said to be lentil soup but it was black bean soup actually:(

Had lunch there. Ordered a chicken sandwich and a cup of soup of the day. Neither dishes were satisfactory. Let's start with the good things. First, service was pretty quick even if the restaurant was over half-full. Besides, their bread was amazing; the (whole wheat?) sourdough was so delicious and authentic that I eventually put the stuff in the sandwich onto it lol. Then the disappointment. The chicken sandwich was OKay but they put dressing on it which I opted out. The soup of the day was said to be lentil soup, but somehow it turned out to be black bean soup. Moreover it was too thick, almost baked beans.

Great ambiance, great coffee, great cronut! We stopped by the town to take Amtrak. We happened to find this little local gem. I got an oat milk latte and raspberry cronut. It was a lovely quick breakfast.

Lots of seating area both inside and outside. Unfortunately does not have WiFi. But great spot to meet with a friend or do some reading and disconnect from the internet. Service was great and coffee was delicious. Loved the decor as well

Perfect cafe to sit for a while and soak in whatever media youre into, I loved sitting down and reading while being able to set aside my phone and charge it while taking advantage of the free wifi! The cold brew coffee is something so simple yet easy to mess up and G café just hits the mark with it so effortlessly; sadly there isn't much connect with the baristas, they weren't really friendly or inviting to talk to and that's where I lose the good feeling for this spot! (Transactions seemed like they were visibly causing them pain lol) Lots of seating! Very crafty drinks!

Great coffee. Today got bacon egg on a brioche. Excellent. They also have amazing pastries and an assortment of fresh breads that look mouthwatering assuming you're a bread junkie, like me. Also had a pastry. Why not?

Food is delicious here! Service is good depending on your ethnicity and who's working. Larger place than on Chapel street.

Recommend all bakery products! Sandwiches are great too. Have visited all locations (i think) and enjoy them all.

There were packaged items, hot items and cold items as well. I ordered a honey lavender macchiato and it was absolutely delicious. They took my order and then called me when it was ready. It was a little bit loud in there so I didn't head her call my name but it was still hot when I went and checked to see if she called me. That was not her fault. I could have stayed closer. You need a code for the restroom and there is only one single stall. The code is on the bottom of your receipt. I really like that each thing lists ingredients and calories. I love when places do that!

Most chairs were up on tables, but a few tables had chairs down and people sat at chairs in the front. When we went up to the register, my friend got excited because they were playing a song she really liked. The employee told her to "calm down" multiple times in a very rude tone. We bought a piece of cake, it was a bit expensive for a small slice ($7.75) but we noticed a student discount with proof of Student ID. One of my friends had her student ID on her so she showed it, my friends also got excited about the discount and we were told to "calm down" again. Then another employee told us that the discount didn't apply to cake or macarons?? Weird. Seems convenient, since those were the only things left in the case. Anyway, we bought the cake at full price, and my friend went to find forks for the group. She asked one of the employees behind the counter and he very rudely said, "Have you tried looking behind you?" So rude. I asked for a plate to make it easier for us to split the cake slice, and the first employee told me they were closed for eating. No mention of that or signs about it before we purchased. We had to leave with our cake and ended up eating it outside on the street. I'm not happy with this place, it looked so cute at first but honestly not even worth the trouble or the money.
