Anna Millers is a staple when it comes to the classic Hawaii restaurant experience. Although they are no longer open for late night dinners, the breakfast menu still hits and the staff continues to always serve with a smile. On this Saturday morning I had the daily special of Banana Macadamia Pancakes with a side of hash browns (my favorite) and they were delicious. Even though I will miss the late night visits for dinner and pie, I still enjoy this place and will continue to recommend it to others as it holds a special place in my heart.

Anna Miller's first opened in Hawaii around 1973 and was the first in a chain of restaurants that opened in Japan that eventually numbered over 20. Some people say that the origin of the "Maid Cafes" in Japan can be traced to Anna Miller's distinctive uniforms. As of today, Jan. 2026, the sole remaining Anna Miller's in the world is the Hawaii location in the Pearlridge area. Research indicates the last Japan location closed in 2022, but word has it that a new restaurant will be opening in 2026. Many a Kamaaina or visitor have visited this coffee shop over the decades, after a trip to Aloha Stadium or a visit to Pearlridge shopping center. Their breakfasts are great but our favorite is the chicken pot pie that comes with a crisp toss salad and a corn bread. Is's a delicious combination with just the right amount of balance in the pie as well as the meal itself. Diners and take out orders also are drawn to the variety pies that they offer by the slice and whole. The strawberry pies, in their different variations are a favorite. It can usually get pretty busy during the breakfast hours, and they are basically open for breakfast and lunch. The take out pie counter is open later. Clean tables and pleasant employees, it's not surprising Anna Miller's is local favorite for breakfast and lunch dining.

Decent selection for breakfast and lunch. It's been awhile since I've been here but the servers still wear the iconic miniskirt dress that some would think is a little too risqué for a Japanese chain. Otherwise known for their fresh pies. Their savory chicken pot pie is also a nice pick. Comes with soup or salad and cornbread. Service is always great but we went a little off peak hours.

Classic diner food. This restaurant took my back to my childhood eating breakfast with my grandparents in Wisconsin. The food isn't flashy or fancy but is dependable. The hashbrowns and pancakes were so good. Highly recommend adding a strawberry tart and chocolate pie on to the end of your meal. The waiting room was full but the restaurant is efficient and turnover of patrons was high.

Pie of the day.

Burger was perfect. And lemon pie for dessert was why I wanted to eat here today. I have been eating here over 20 years. And I saw by the register today that almost all employees that were on the board of years worked there were as long as 40+ and the bottom of the list people older than my kids. Mahalo for all the great years of service and food. Until next time.

Anna Miller's is and has always been a popular spot for friends and family. It's quite apparent when you drive up and see lots of folks waiting outside on the 'deck', as well as inside as you walk in! The dine-in counters (totally fun to sit there), booths, and walk-up pie counter are bustling with people meeting others, taking photos, or picking up their pies! The staff is friendly...yes, we have our favorites, and they are accommodating for kupuna (walkers), as well as kids (highchairs). Breakfast is a delight with huge pancakes (the macadamia ones are sumptuous), and I would think most people would have to share a plate...although you can order just one! We're usually there for the lunch menu (both are served all day), and the hot sandwiches with fries 'hit the spot'. Don't overlook their tuna salad - big enough for a meal there, then a meal to-go...with toasted cornbread, it's a deal! Although parking is plentiful, it's shared by Bravo downstairs, so Handicapped Parking/access can be challenging.

I remember back in the day when we'd go for breakfast and you'd see the masses of people waiting outside... whelp, that's still the case! Wait time on a Sunday morning was about 10-15 mins. Happy to see they still have benches to sit at while waiting! Our waitress, Shannen was the sweetest! She approached us for our drink order & explained she was going to be delivering food for her other tables & would return to take our orders. I appreciated the quick explanation as it didn't leave us wondering why we weren't being helped. Happy to see they returned the Pot roast & gravy back to the menu! Appeared as though every table was booked... that's a great sign! Clean, old school comfort, reasonable prices.

Tradition breakfast here at Anna Millers! They open at 7am-3pm. They have their long time staff and we love coming here as they are so friendly and I suppose we are regulars. They even remember our kids when they were younger.... And of course that's when they were open 24 hours. It's casual. I love their Floor layout with the booths. Seating can also be at the counter. We sometimes sit there with there's a long line on Sundays. I'm glad Anna Millers is still around

Food was great, very big portions. It was a busy Saturday morning and it was packed, there was a bit of a wait but it seemed to go by quickly. Our server was great and very attentive! It's a bit loud inside just from all the people but it's great for people watching! The pies always look so good but I'm always too full from breakfast or lunch. Will be coming back

Strawberry tart

Had some time to spare on Sunday morning, so I decided to take out their delicious Strawberry tartlets. SO delicious! Gets crowded, go early or later. Cashier was busy, but she provided excellent customer service. Mahalo for satisfying our sweet tooth! We'll be back soon to dine in.

Big breakfast meat sampler

Three eggs and a whole lot of meat (Big breakfast meat sampler) made this #bigboyproblems very happy. The French toast combo also made the sweet and savory taste buds excited. The service was exceptionally quick. I placed my order, went to use the restroom and by the time I finished drooling over their fresh baked pies my food was waiting for me at the table. Anna Miller's was once our go to 24 dining spot, just wish they were now open longer. Open Monday to Friday 8 am to 3 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 3pm. Still overjoyed that Hawaii has the last Anna Miller's in the world.

Still my favorite go-to for Thanksgiving and Pi Day (March 14) pies! I've picked up Thanksgiving pies from Anna Miller's two years in a row. They definitely improved logistics from last year. No dine in on Thanksgiving Day, and lines flow one way, from a group of staff members taking your order and handing you a carbon copy slip at the entrance door off the side, to handing that slip at one of two registers that ring up your order and hand you your pie order, to exiting through the main door. I was in and out in probably five minutes! You can also preview their Thanksgiving pie menu online. Last year, I ordered a Dutch Apple pie and a custard pie. The Dutch Apple pie was good with the traditional streusel topping, but the custard pie was a little runny and not like Kaneohe Bakery. This year, I only ordered the Dutch Apple pie, which was topped with pie crust crumbs instead of streusel. :( I think for next year, I will just go for a regular apple pie, peach pie, or if Ted's is not an option, a chocolate haupia pie. Sorry, strawberry pies are not in season during Thanksgiving!

My favorite brunch in O'ahu. The eggs and potatoes are delicious! I highly recommend skipping the pies (which I realize is a controversial takeaway!) because I don't like the gooey sweet pie filling. The interior is like a time capsule to 1978, in the best way possible, with impeccable service.

Is the ac still out?

When I was there after the Great Aloha Run it was still out... but that was almost a month ago.

Do they still have the special where you can add a slice of pie to your meal for $1.99?

It's 6 or 7 dollars now for the slice.

Will Anna Millers open 24 hours like they use to?

Not 24 hours anymore - only open from 8 am - 3 pm. Reduced hours due to shortage of available staffing.

Have they re-opened the restaurant?

They just reopened for dine in this week...check IG...limited hours. Until 3 pm I think.

Does Anna Millers still recycle their pie tins?

Yes, and you get a credit towards your next pie purchase.

How much is it for a whole pie? Do they pack it up to travel on a plane?

Each pie flavor has a different cost all under $20. They are perishable, so I do not believe that it would be able to travel on a plane. They do not sell cooler bags or anything like that for transport.

Do they have free WiFi? Going out to sea soon and I get off at 2am and just want to freshen up my iPad shows. And have a good meal!?

I don't think they have free WiFi. Their meal is not too special but service is good. I know the… Read more

Heard a rumor that Anna Miller's might be closing. Does anyone have any definitive information?

I heard that rumor a couple of years ago and pretty sure it's false. Anna Miller's is a permanent landmark. :)

They were still good because it had that awesome brisket meat in it. The noodles were also very good and had a good amount of that delicious brisket. The garlic shrimp were not worth the extra 5.50 imo. They weren't very buttery or garlicky. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked with a nice crunchy batter and tender inside. I will be back for the brisket and noodles and maybe to try a burger and shave ice.

From start to finish, the experience was amazing. Everything tasted great, and the student who served us made us feel very comfortable. They checked in often to see how the food was and whether we needed drink refills. The service was truly five-star. We loved every dish, especially because the flavors were well balanced and never overpowering. The blueberry scones were not too sweet and paired perfectly with the cream cheese. The salad starter was fresh, and the phyllo was crunchy and flavorful on its own. The crab was delicious and well prepared. For the main course, I had the pork loin with apricot and prune. The sweet and savory flavors worked beautifully together, and the meat was perfectly cooked and not dry at all. For dessert, I ordered the Pots de Crème au Chocolate. It was rich and indulgent without being overly sweet -- the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, this was a five-star experience, and I will definitely be booking another reservation again.

Location: Kitchen Deja Vu is located inside the Blue Tropix Bar & Grill, which just so happens to be right across the Chili's from Pearlridge Center. Parking: Plenty! You can park anywhere in the Pearlridge Center parking lot Food: We ordered 5 items 1) pan fried pork cheese buns: 10/10 - pillowy soft bread expertly soaks up all the juices from the pork filling, perfectly pan fried bottom adds a bit of crunchy texture, pork filling was seasoned well and there was a decent amount of cheese inside as well (it was giving pizza flavor vibes), supposedly "spicy" but it wasn't too bad at all so this would be good even for those with a low spice tolerance 2) pulehu style short ribs: 10/10 - incredible smoked and grilled flavor, cooked and seasoned to perfection! They're not stingy either, nice portion size and a hearty amount of meat on each short rib too 3) big shrimp potstickers: 11/10 - succulent pork & shrimp filling filled to the brim of wrapper! Very on brand because these buggahs was massive and sooo tasty! Classic potsticker taste and there's a whole shrimp in there too, paired with their shoyu vinegar (I think) sauce and wooo this one was winnnahz ‍ 4) charsui udon: 10/10 - nice & chewy udon noodles and absolutely loaded with charsui and veggies that were so wonderfully stir fried allowing them to soften just a little but remain crispy, adding another layer of texture to the dish and ensuring you get a nice little crunch in every bite! 5) kau yuk (caramelized pork belly): 10/10 - big chunks of sweet & savory pork belly, but not as sweet as the name would have you think. It's actually perfectly balanced, you can definitely taste some authentic asian spices going on in there, and the meat was nice and tender Service: 11/10 We ordered take out but you can absolutely dine in if you wanted to, plenty of booths and/or tables to choose from. But I did wanna mention that we were lucky enough to meet Charlie, the owner! Really nice guy, after we gave him our order, our server Kyle took such good care of us. Checked in on us multiple times & offered to get us some water while waiting for our food. Overall: 10/10 Food was delicious, the chefs obviously know what's good, hats off to them!
