Wanted to dine off strip while we were in town visiting. So glad we stumbled upon Anima! The food was exceptional. The restaurant was flexible, allowing us to order a pasta dish off their chef's pre fixe menu as we also ordered à la carte. We started with oysters topped with granita and smoked soy sauce. Flavor bomb! So good! We also had the cacio e pepe croquetas topped with egg yolk. Really decadent and good. The rigatoni amatriciana was unbelievably good. The pasta had the perfect chew, and the taste of bacon was forward and smoky. The sprouted cauliflower was something we have never had before. The garlic confit and sauce was perfectly balanced with right amount of acid. The braised short ribs were delicious, tender and velvety. The potatoes either the short ribs were a highlight for us. Cocktails were unique and also really tasty. Our server Andrew was so helpful and a joy to chat with. The restaurant is beautiful with perfect lighting, great ambiance for a date night. I was really excited for this one because we had heard so much about it, but it was pretty disappointing. We made reservations about a month ahead on OpenTable and noted it was our anniversary. When we checked in, there was no acknowledgement (usually we get a "congratulations") and they also wanted to seat us a table that was right next to the bussing station and sequestered from the main dining room. It was a Thursday night, so it wasn't busy and there were a ton of open tables, so I'm not sure why this was chosen. We had to proactively ask to be moved. We ordered the tasting menu and it was... different. It felt like those experimental dishes that want to be different for the sake of being different, but it didn't necessarily work taste-wise. Service was also kind of weird - the waiter didn't seem too welcoming and there were times we were still working on a plate and it felt like we were being rushed to finish despite the restaurant not even being full. read more

I'm not an influencer pumping for klout, I share for fun, and the love of the community. So when I hit spots in the same market vertical it feels like cheating on a girlfriend, which I've never done. This time I reached out to my friend and shared my feelings on the spot before I dropped my story. This person's response defines what class sounds like, and sadly most people infected with entitlement will ever possess: "I can't wait to hear about it. I want them to WIN rising tides raises all boats." That was the response. That's what class looks and sounds like. It reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from Gary Vee "There are two ways to build the biggest building in town. You either just build the biggest building in town, or you spend all your time tearing everybody else's building down."Sad how often and how many attack others attempting to make themselves better. For those of us who believe in building the best in what's in the mirror we can see the greatness in the differences, in the nuances, that's what makes foodie feasts so awesome. It's exactly why when a derivative of a major player like Anima ( @animabyedo ) pops up, I add it to my list to try. One of my best friends was visiting from Colorado and I know Northern Colorado has a shortage of seafood spots. I stayed there for a bit downhill mountain biking last year across Steamboat, Winter Park, and Aspen. Every aspect of our selection was incredible. The bar service was fire too. My group of three came here on a Tuesday on an early evening. The first thing that is immediately evident is the service. Everyone there will welcome you and your glass of water will always stay full. Inside is a nice restaurant but not too upscale where it seems unapproachable. One of my favorite date night spots. My boyfriend set up reservations for us recently as we haven't dined here in a while and I also never left a review before! I love their tasting menu experience for only $80/PP and Paulo who is their wine expert also provides great pairing to the tasting menu. Our waiter was Anthony and he has served us in the past and always gives us a 10/10 experience! The food and presentation speaks for itself. It is also fun to share and be able to try new things. Hands down the best service I have ever had at a restaurant in my entire life. That made our night. They kept our water full, stated every dish as they were brought out, cater to all our needs. Went for lunch on a Friday. Started with the Bravas Potatoes, Green Tartare, the Dealers Choice salad, and the wedge salad. All were fantastic. The salad dressings were seasoned well and the Bravas Potatoes came with a wonderful sauce. For entrees we had the Anima Meatballs, Pichana and Frites, Malfaldine Carbonara, and Salmon La Plancha. Again, all came out hot and were seasoned very nicely. The salmon was slightly overcooked, but still delicious. The Carbonara was outstanding. Had the chocolate fudge dessert and the Pistachio Tiramisu. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious, and the fudge was great too, but would choose the pistachio tiramisu over the fudge. It was memorable. Our server Christian was fantastic. Personable, kind, engaging, and made sure we were well taken care of. WOW! The new lunch set is amazing! The value, the options, and the quality make it definitely one of the best lunch sets you can get in town. It's been a while since I've been here, and I came specifically to try their new lunch menu that started about three weeks ago. So glad I did! This spot is perfect for lunch with friends, business meetings, or even a solo lunch break. It wasn't busy on a Monday when we went, and I don't think many people know they're open for lunch now. There was only one person running the front but he was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Harissa Beets Salad and Picanha with Frites. Anima By Edo is a creative chef driven sort of New American Restaurant and Bar located in the Gramercy. Inside is a bar area, a counter area, half booths, and traditional tables to sit at. I heard that they just started offering a Monday-Friday two course lunch for $25. and we were somewhat near to the area at the time so we had to give it a try and we are glad we did. Our first courses were - 30 day dry aged strip loin carpaccio on top of crisp hollow puri bread that was stuffed with cheese foam and topped with a truffle vinaigrette. Our other plate was the Dealer's Choice salad. It contained a BUNCH of fancy produce, peaches, pistachios, bread, bitter greens, and something cheese. The produce was much fancier and much fresher than what I can buy at any market near me. Our mains were - Rigatoni Amatriciana (belly bacon ends, sun-dried tomato pomodoro) and Salmon a la Plancha. Both dishes were just so and amazing. The salmon was particularly masterfully prepared. Not only a moist medium center but also crispy seasoned skin that tastes like a yummy potato chip. Service was very good. Even our silver was changed for the second course but not perfect. We weren't asked if we wanted a beverage. Also when we were done the server just said do you want anything else. I only noticed one server on and maybe that is why he didn't bother to ask if we wanted beverages besides water? Also I am not certain if dessert is an optional add on during lunch time? Closer to 5 stars than 4 stars. The food we tried was solid enough that I feel I can give 5 stars. read more

Outstanding dinner experience for my wedding anniversary. My husband & I opted for the "Anima Experience" pre-fixe menu at $80 PP. it was 8-course gourmet menu. Everything on the menu was delicious & well-seasoned. I chose the braised short rib atop of creamy mashed potatoes (see picture) as my meat course - it was so tender & comforting! My hubby paid extra $30 to upgrade his meat course to the flat iron steak, which was phenomenal! Our toddler son loved the Bravas potatoes - super crispy & full of umami. We were simply looking for somewhere local and new to try, and while we had read some positive reviews, I've always believed that dining is deeply personal. No matter what the reviews say, I prefer to experience a place for myself. And let me tell you, we were thoroughly impressed. Anima by Edo is a Gastro Tapas & Wine concept inspired by Catalonia, Italy, and the Mediterranean, conveniently located at The Gramercy near Summerlin. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. Let's start with the service. We were greeted immediately by a warm, welcoming host, and since we had reservations, we were seated right away. Our server and the assisting staff were exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive without ever hovering. Their recommendations were spot on, and the pacing of the service was flawless. The décor is chic and inviting, with a beautiful mix of tables and plush red leather booths. The lighting is just right, soft and flattering, complemented by striking wall art, a cool exposed wine cellar, and even a private dining room for more intimate gatherings. It's stylish yet comfortable, the kind of place where you instantly want to linger. Another pleasant surprise: the pricing. Both the food and cocktails are very reasonable, especially compared to the inflated prices you often find on the Strip. To stay within the Spanish theme, I ordered the Rosé Sangria, made with orange, apple, brandy, elderflower, and triple sec. It was fantastic, perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. For starters, we shared the Catalan Olive Oil Bread. You can choose up to six different toppings, and we selected the Manchego and Tomato Fresca. Absolute perfection. The sweetness and freshness of the tomato paired with the richness of the Manchego was simply dreamy. Also the Bravas Potatoes Crispy layered potatoes, with a traditional Brava sauce. Excellent. We followed that with the Green Tartare, made with zucchini, avocado, green bell pepper, and a pistachio vinaigrette. Heavenly doesn't even begin to describe it, the flavors were vibrant, delicate, and beautifully balanced. Pure perfection and my favorite. For our mains, we tried the Paccheri Puttanesca with tomato, roasted eggplant, zucchini, olives, and capers, bold, comforting, and full of depth. We also ordered the Rigatoni with kale pesto, honey walnuts, and creamy burrata. That combination of savory pesto with the subtle sweetness of the honey walnuts was unforgettable. Every bite was better than the last. And yes, the food here is absolutely worth every penny. For dessert, we indulged in a chocolate creation (sadly, the name escapes me), but it was divine, a creamy, luscious concoction served with delicate, cracker-like elements that melted in your mouth. Completely decadent and utterly mouthwatering. Anima by Edo was outstanding from every angle, service, ambiance, food, and value. If I could rate it higher than a five, I would. We have eaten at EDO before and really enjoyed ourselves, so we decided to go to Anima to say bon voyage to friends who are moving to Spain. Thought this was the best place for that occasion. First of all, it was challenging to find where Anima is in this business complex. We went around at least two times, and finally saw a door with the name Anima on it, and that was the back entrance. Where was the front? They have brightly lit tables outside, but the signage for Anima was not that prominent, so we missed it. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a very friendly man who instantly engaged us in conversation, welcomed us with a big smile and led us to our table. Our server also introduced himself, and recommended that we try the tasting menu. We were game for everything, so we did. He was very attentitve, and we never had to look for him. All the other people were also on the ball in clearing the table, setting new plates and silverware. Anima has a fabulous wine selection. And in retrospect, we should have gone ahead and ordered a bottle for the two wine drinkers because we ended up having two glasses of wine each, when we could have enjoyed a whole bottle instead. The very impressive tasting menu changes from time to time, but we really liked this one. Everything was really tasty. I don't have to describe each item, suffice it to say that this was a delicious meal. What we had: * Duo of Bites - pear green grapes, marcona almond, aged carpaccios, papaya cheese espuma, truffle vinaigrette * Harissa Beet and Carrot Salad, spiced yogurt, arugula quinoa * Seada - sweet potato & mozzarella filling , honey soy glaze * Pumpkin agnolotti - honey nut butter sage, hazelnut crumb * Rigatonia Amatriciana - with tender belly bacon, jamon, tomato pecan * Wagyu flat iron steak * Pan roassted cod * Braised short rib * creme brulee Because this was a tasting menu, each dish was small. If one fancies a heartier portion, then order a main course instead. As it was, because of the variety of things we ate, we were actually quite sated. It had a strong guava flavor and was delicious Food; Scallop crudo - good but I felt the tom kha sauce overpowered the delicate scallop. Still tasty Strip loin carpaccio- my favorite appetizer. We had a wonderful meal at Anima by EDO. A few of us had been to EDO in the past and were impressed by the food and service there, but Anima was even better in every way. Julio was our server and Paolo was our sommelier, and they both exemplified quality restaurant service. They were patient with explaining things and with answering our questions. The food was fantastic. Julio was helpful with recommendations and making sure that we didn't order too much. The highlights of our meal were: cacio e pepe croquettes, patatas bravas (this was the best potato dish I've ever had), Peruvian scallops, foie gras terrine, ricotta gnocchi, truffle cavatelli, and lobster crostini. The desserts were awesome as well, definitely order those. Their wine list was insane as well, one of the best we've ever seen. I've been to Anima by EDO twice now, and overall it's a great spot, with some real highs and a few inconsistencies. The absolute standout is the mafaldine pasta--that dish is a straight-up 5/5. Incredible texture with just the right lightness and bite, showcasing fresh pasta at its best. The ragù is beautifully balanced: rich and comforting without being heavy or overpowering. A dish I'll come back for on its own. My wife who is not a red sauce fan couldn't stop eating it. Another must-order is their take on patatas bravas, which is honestly outstanding. Layered scalloped potatoes, baked, pressed, then deep-fried--the result is unreal. Crispy exterior, tender interior, perfectly seasoned, and paired with a side sauce that ties everything together. Flavor, texture, execution... wow. The gnocchi, however, were a bit disappointing and ultimately brought my overall score down. While the sauce was excellent--especially the mushrooms--the gnocchi themselves felt dense, possibly overworked, and lacked that pillowy quality you hope for. That said, huge credit to our bartender/waiter Justin, who didn't want us leaving with a bad taste and comped the dish. Great dude, great service. Drinks are another bright spot. The mocktail with the unforgettable name "Strong Like Crab" is genuinely fantastic--creative, balanced, and memorable even without alcohol. We ordered the scallop crudo on both visits. The tom kha-inspired flavors really shine, but the first visit was noticeably better than the second, pointing to a bit of inconsistency. All in all, Anima by EDO delivers some truly excellent dishes, especially when it hits its stride. With a bit more consistency, it could easily creep into 5-star territory. Food: We enjoyed all the food we had there! We had the lunch prefix menu which is $25 per person. You get an appetizer and entree! Which is such a great value add! We ordered the caprese salad which tasted so fresh with the heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese! The flavors for sure hit the spot! We also had the 30 day dry aged striploin carpaccio which was the highlight of our meal! I typically don't like carpaccio but this was so flavorful and the meat was cut thinly it didn't have a weird texture! It sat on puri bread which was a great accompaniment to the carpaccio! Would totally come back for that! We then had the picanha and fries and that was absolutely delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender and seasoned to perfection! And lastly they brought some flan by and lemon ice cream! Which was so creamy and lemony and just the right amount of sweetness! So so good! I don't say this lightly--this was hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time! My partner and I decided to check out Anima after seeing their Instagram ad for the Monday special: two pastas and a bottle of wine for $65. Lucky for us, it was a Monday! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The host greeted us warmly, and the cozy, dimly lit ambiance set the perfect mood. We were seated quickly, with waters and menus brought right away. We started with the bread topped with tomato and manchego cheese ($13). The portion was generous, four hearty slices, and letting the cheese come to room temperature made it even better. Absolutely delicious! For the special, you choose between red, white, or rosé. We went with the red, and it was honestly one of the better wines I've had in a while. They also give you small plates to share the pastas, which was a nice touch. We ordered the Rigatoni Amatriciana and the Mafaldine--both cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite made me want to come back and try the rest of the menu (especially their $89 tasting menu!). The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Giulio, was attentive, charismatic, and helpful. Paulo, the Sommelier, took time to explain the wines in detail and was both knowledgeable and personable. Edita, another server, was also wonderful. What stood out most was how the whole team worked together--refilling waters, clearing plates, and even sparking small, genuine conversations, regardless of whose table it was. That level of care really makes a difference. I also loved the little touches--like how someone always topped off your wine glass before it ran low. Small gestures like that make the experience feel special. Another thing I noticed: hardly anyone was on their phones. We were celebrating me getting a new job, so we decided to knock Anima by EDO off our "to try" list. We walked into the back entrance and made our way to the host stand. This was super easy and the people working here were very friendly about it, I'm assuming it happens a lot, since this is where the parking lot is. The host was super friendly and sat us right away. She was engaging and excited for us. She even came by later to ask us how our experience was (maybe she was a manager as well?) The place is gorgeous, with fun paintings and nice furniture. It feels like a nice place to get dressed up to visit, but you can also be dressed pretty casually. The service was amazing. We wanted for nothing and were treated so well. They seem to truly care about cultivating memories and relationships here and I am all about that. They even sent me out a free dessert with a candle in it for our celebration, which they didn't need to do, which I loved and really appreciated. The cocktail program here is fantastic. My husband even said one of the cocktails was probably one of the best he's ever had in his life (if you can, try the Monte-Python and the Holy Grail.) I loved every drink I had, amazing! The food is pretty darn good as well. I was super impressed by the selection, even with a smaller menu. The presentation was excellent and it's priced fairly for the amount of food you get. If might have been that everyone seemed to show up at 6pm like us, the restaurant was empty, and then everyone seemed to come at exactly the same time, and because of that service was really, really slow. We had finished two of our courses by the time we got our drinks. The restaurant is interesting. It reminds you of a remodeled sushi bar. The food was all decent but really small portions and nothing that was wow. Interesting take on carpaccio and delicious brussels sprouts. The cod was a bit fishy. Tried the olive bread with ricotta, the octopus, the spicy sausage pasta and the cod. The ricotta was quite dense but had good flavor. I just like it a little looser. The olive bread was spectacular. Nice rich olive flavor. The octopus was perfectly executed and I'm glad the slimy membrane was removed. Good job! It was served with some really nice beans. the cod and sausage ragu were both solid and decent size portion size. Is this a Michelin star quality? Absolutely not!! Inexpensive? Absolutely not. This place is amazing! It's been days since we've eaten here and I can't stop thinking about the delectable food. Everything we ate was absolutely amazing. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I recommend this place a 1000%. Is an Italian and Spanish tapas fusion. The food is delicious every dish we tried was excellent in flavor and texture. The service was extra fast and eager to help. We had the sommelier picking some wine glasses that were very refreshing. The ambience and decor was very well put and they had soft Italian music playing in the background at the time of our visit. My fiancée and I had the "Anima Experience" tonight - and were absolutely delighted by the food, the ambiance, and the amazing staff! Our server, Andrew was just great - and was able to quickly help us negotiate both the food and cocktail menus with friendly ease. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. If I had to choose a "best", it would be the Pumpkin Agnolotti - the perfect combination of a pumpkin-stuffed pasta in a rich but delicate butter-sage sauce. I could eat my body weight in this nightly and never get tired of it. But seriously, everything was truly delicious. My only caveat is this: the Kaluga Caviar & Eggs (an $18 add-on) is tasty and interesting - but it's more about the experience of trying an unusual dish than it is about being truly exceptional. Fine once, but I wouldn't order it again for the price. The warm and cozy vibe is great when it's chilly outside. We will definitely be back soon! read more

This place was recommended to us by a good friend. A bit off the beaten path from the strip, but well worth the Uber ride. The locale is very quaint, well decorated and welcoming. The cocktail list is expansive with some very interesting combinations. I had a Mezcal based cocktail, which was probably the best Mezcal combo ever. The wine list is also excellent with varietals from Italy, Greece, and Spain. The wine server was from Italy, charming and very knowledgeable. We opted for the tasting menu, which gave us a variety of Italian and Spanish innovative dishes. Our favorites were the gazpacho and the rigatoni. The short rib, one of the best I've ever tasted. Dessert was pineapple, crème brûlée, very well-made. All the dishes are very well portioned with a great pace to make and enjoyable food experience. Monday night offers Pasta's special for two with a bottle of wine. Our plan was to give a try. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was doing a brisk business with most tables being occupied however, service was prompt. After reviewing the special menu and the regular menu we decided on the regular menu as the pasta choices were not to our interest. We ordered the potatoes Bravas as a starter and the Braised Short Rib as an entrée. The shape of the potatoes was surprising as they were rectangular and about six inches long. Somewhat like a large French fry, however they were nice and crispy outside and super tender inside. One order is four pieces and served with a special sauce which tastes like thousand island. The Short Rib was excellent. The meat was very lean and melts in your mouth tender. It is served was creamy mashed potatoes, mushrooms and Cipollini onions. read more

Anima: A Culinary Gem Worth Every Bite From start to finish, our experience at Anima was nothing short of phenomenal. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding; attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming without being intrusive. We kicked off the evening with a cocktail called "Jalapeño in Your Business", and wow!!!! what a start! It delivered a perfectly balanced smoky flavor with just the right amount of kick. It set the tone beautifully for the rest of the meal. Each dish we tried was crafted with intention and finesse. The Green Tartare was a delightful every bite, and the scallop crudo was fresh, delicate, and full of clean, bright flavors. The sprouted cauliflower was a surprise standout! Earthy and satisfying with a wonderful texture. The star of the meal was the whole Mediterranean dorade, which was cooked to perfection. Crispy skin, tender flesh, and a beautiful presentation made it a memorable main course. We ended the night with a deconstructed Key lime pie, which was both playful and delicious, a refreshing, citrusy finish to a truly memorable meal. During the evening my retainer container accidentally fell out of my purse and onto the floor. I didn't realize my retainers actually fell out until I was home ready to put them in for the night. When I called the restaurant immediately, Joe tracked them down and I was able to pick them up the next day. I couldn't thank the staff enough for retrieving them for me!!!! 4.4 stars. Great food with mostly hits and a few misses. We were greeted nicely upon arrival and the place was rly nice. I would say it's a good date spot! Our server was also very attentive and gave us a whole rundown of the menu including his recommendations. Food: Peruvian Scallop 10/10 these area sooo good. It had a tom kha soup flavor (Thai flavors) and the scallop was super fresh. It was a mix of sweet and tangy. I loved it. Brussel sprouts 10/10: this dish was also soo delicious. The Brussels sprouts aren't burnt like how a lot of places do it. The crème fresh below was chefs kiss. It added so much complexity to the dish!! There were also crispy crisps of bacon I think? That made the dish have more texture. Loved ittt. Truffle Cavatelli 4/10: I had high expectations for this dish but it was okay to me. The truffle addition along with the bone marrow presentation was cool. The flavors were nice but the pasta noodles really made the dish meh to me. First of all the pasta was shaped kinda like maggots lol. The pasta didn't absorb any flavor and it was just a ball of dough. I think if they changed the pasta it would make the dish so much better. Lots of potential especially with the flavors of the sauce. Mafaldine 6/10: this pasta also had alot of potential since I love the pasta noodle it came with. Squiggly flat (idk my pasta noodle types lol). It was able to capture a lot of flavor. However the sauce was sadly tooooo salty. I usually like my sauces flavorful but this one was too salty without flavor. Braised short rib 7/10: this dish was solid but the short rib was a bit dry. It wasn't chewy but it could've been braised longer to have that better tenderness too. However the taste of the sauce and potato was nice. Hanger steak and frites 9/10: cooked to a perfect medium this steak was SO GOOD. the fries were also yummy with that perfect crispy. However that peppercorn sauce they gave us not our cup of tea. It kinda tasted like dish soap. I ended up asking for ketchup instead for the fries. This dish could be a 10/10 if the sauce was better. We also got a complementary flan for someone's bday in the group! Rly nice of them. Overall the food was rly good except the pastas. Service was great and the vibes were upscale ish which makes a good date spot! read more
