There's a small collection of spots I regularly setup feasts at in Vegas, for my stomach, for dates, for colleagues, and events. I'm not an influencer pumping for klout, I share for fun, and the love of the community. So when I hit spots in the same market vertical it feels like cheating on a girlfriend, which I've never done. This time I reached out to my friend and shared my feelings on the spot before I dropped my story. This person's response defines what class sounds like, and sadly most people infected with entitlement will ever possess: "I can't wait to hear about it. I want them to WIN rising tides raises all boats." That was the response. That's what class looks and sounds like. It reminded me of one of my favorite quotes from Gary Vee "There are two ways to build the biggest building in town. You either just build the biggest building in town, or you spend all your time tearing everybody else's building down."Sad how often and how many attack others attempting to make themselves better. For those of us who believe in building the best in what's in the mirror we can see the greatness in the differences, in the nuances, that's what makes foodie feasts so awesome. It's exactly why when a derivative of a major player like Anima ( @animabyedo ) pops up, I add it to my list to try. One of my best friends was visiting from Colorado and I know Northern Colorado has a shortage of seafood spots. I stayed there for a bit downhill mountain biking last year across Steamboat, Winter Park, and Aspen. Every aspect of our selection was incredible. The bar service was fire too. The scallops and pâté blew my mind. I always try the most eclectic items I can when I see a menu for the first time. A reason I swipe left on vegans. This spot was fun, and I can't wait to try more there. IG: @animabyedo

My group of three came here on a Tuesday on an early evening. The first thing that is immediately evident is the service. Everyone there will welcome you and your glass of water will always stay full. Inside is a nice restaurant but not too upscale where it seems unapproachable. The food is all truly unique- not what people eat on a day-to-day basis. It's definitely a specialty restaurant that way. I truly enjoyed the food and the dining experience.

Brought over by Instagram with excited expectations. Left pretty disappointed for the quality of food, off putting service, and price. * Potato bravas (3/5) - tasty fried crispy layers, would have preferred a more acidic sauce since it's already deep fried with oil * Dorade (4/5) - tender, not as vibrant and acidic in flavor * Saffron risotto (3/5) - a little too mushy, very muted saffron flavor * Scallop crudo (2/5) - not sweet, coconut milk fat covers a lot of the flavor, small. Would not recommend Paid $140 (before tip) for 4 dishes and 2 alcohol drinks. Our waitress was pushy having us order drinks, also gave the vibe she didn't want to be/work there, just there for tips. I can only wonder, maybe this place was better in the past. Feels more like a money grab than passion. We won't be back.

EDO is a classy joint that offers a quality dining experience with delicious offerings and eye catching presentation. The dishes are served tapa style so you'll need to order multiple dishes if you're famish. Service was on point and they even have a wine sommelier.

had a great experience at this restaurant! Was greeted upon entering, host and waiter were nice, friendly, and attentive. Appetizers: - ricotta/oil dip with bread: bread was good, but the dip was okay, it could use more seasoning that was put on as a topping - oysters: must have! - scallops: not bad but I prefer the oysters - sweet potato: nice balance of flavors - cod: cooked perfectly - steak and frites: medium rare is the way to go! Nice place for a date night. Would definitely be back!

One of my favorite date night spots. My boyfriend set up reservations for us recently as we haven't dined here in a while and I also never left a review before! I love their tasting menu experience for only $80/PP and Paulo who is their wine expert also provides great pairing to the tasting menu. Our waiter was Anthony and he has served us in the past and always gives us a 10/10 experience! The food and presentation speaks for itself. It is also fun to share and be able to try new things. My favorite item was hands down the Harissa Beet and Carrot Salad. Something so simple with so much flavor. We did some of the supplements and definitely worth it for the full experience.

Food was delicious. Portions of appetizers were small tapas. Entrees were sufficient. Still water was great, served chilled, at no cost. Lots of seafood on the menu. Hands down the best service I have ever had at a restaurant in my entire life. That made our night. They kept our water full, stated every dish as they were brought out, cater to all our needs. The only item I ordered that I didn't love was the wedge salad. It just had too much of the pickled items for my taste. Everything else was delicious The decor was great, the ambiance was impeccable, great lighting, table room was fantastic and very spacious, the actual tables were also very nice and high quality. A great experience!

We love the lunch specials menu. You get a salad and entree for $25. The food here is prepared with precision, quality, and thoughtfulness. Locals need to support this gem. The beet and carrot salad was packed with flavor and freshness. The potatoes were so flaky and crispy and tender all at once. The salmon had delicious crispy skin. All the food seasoned to perfection! The sangrias were lovely. The server was attentive and professional. Thank you ....we will be back!

Went for lunch on a Friday. Started with the Bravas Potatoes, Green Tartare, the Dealers Choice salad, and the wedge salad. All were fantastic. The salad dressings were seasoned well and the Bravas Potatoes came with a wonderful sauce. For entrees we had the Anima Meatballs, Pichana and Frites, Malfaldine Carbonara, and Salmon La Plancha. Again, all came out hot and were seasoned very nicely. The salmon was slightly overcooked, but still delicious. The Carbonara was outstanding. Had the chocolate fudge dessert and the Pistachio Tiramisu. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious, and the fudge was great too, but would choose the pistachio tiramisu over the fudge. It was memorable. Our server Christian was fantastic. Personable, kind, engaging, and made sure we were well taken care of. We had an amazing experience, and my group is looking forward to returning to Anima to experience the dinner menu.

WOW! The new lunch set is amazing! The value, the options, and the quality make it definitely one of the best lunch sets you can get in town. It's been a while since I've been here, and I came specifically to try their new lunch menu that started about three weeks ago. So glad I did! This spot is perfect for lunch with friends, business meetings, or even a solo lunch break. It wasn't busy on a Monday when we went, and I don't think many people know they're open for lunch now. There was only one person running the front but he was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Harissa Beets Salad and Picanha with Frites. The only note I have is that I wish the fries were a bit crispier, but other than that, everything was 10/10. Definitely check them out for their new lunch sets. I'll be back for sure!

Anima By Edo is a creative chef driven sort of New American Restaurant and Bar located in the Gramercy. Inside is a bar area, a counter area, half booths, and traditional tables to sit at. I heard that they just started offering a Monday-Friday two course lunch for $25. and we were somewhat near to the area at the time so we had to give it a try and we are glad we did. Our first courses were - 30 day dry aged strip loin carpaccio on top of crisp hollow puri bread that was stuffed with cheese foam and topped with a truffle vinaigrette. Our other plate was the Dealer's Choice salad. It contained a BUNCH of fancy produce, peaches, pistachios, bread, bitter greens, and something cheese. The produce was much fancier and much fresher than what I can buy at any market near me. Our mains were - Rigatoni Amatriciana (belly bacon ends, sun-dried tomato pomodoro) and Salmon a la Plancha. Both dishes were just so and amazing. The salmon was particularly masterfully prepared. Not only a moist medium center but also crispy seasoned skin that tastes like a yummy potato chip. Service was very good. Even our silver was changed for the second course but not perfect. We weren't asked if we wanted a beverage. Also when we were done the server just said do you want anything else. I only noticed one server on and maybe that is why he didn't bother to ask if we wanted beverages besides water? Also I am not certain if dessert is an optional add on during lunch time? Closer to 5 stars than 4 stars. The food we tried was solid enough that I feel I can give 5 stars.

Hip spot, amazing food, nice wine & cocktail program. Green Tartare, Patatas Bravas, Puttanesca, Cacio e Pepe and the chocolate dessert were all top notch. Will be back!

While I didn't end up loving my dishes, I still looking forward to coming back. I got the salmon skin tacos. Very creative, very beautiful, not much flavor. The strongest flavor that came through was the red onion which I'm not a big fan of. For dinner I got the vegan noodles. Good texture, liked the veggies, it was a little spicier than expected and I'm coming to realize I may not love gochujang so much. The sauce was just a little too thick and overpowering. That said, the bao sliders were delicious, the steak tartare was interesting. The pork jowl was very tasty and the short rib looked very good. I did not love the imperial rolls, they had some flavor/spice coming through that I really disliked but others enjoyed them. In addition to the food, the service was great. They took great care of us, and even offered to write happy birthday on the cake we brought in. They did charge a cake cutting fee and cut up our whole cake and served us which was nice. Finally the ambiance was nice. It's not a large space (not too small either). Felt intimate, not a ton of other people. It was a great dining experience and I look forward to going back.
