It was obvious the entire staff took pride and interest in delivering an incredible guest experience. The salsa tasting was an epic start to a tasty meal of sizzling (and large!) chicken fajitas and the enchiladas tricolor. My partner and I were beyond impressed with the taste and presentation. 5 out of 5 Went to Ta'Chingon with a buddy at about 5 PM. We got there early, so it was still pretty quiet, but by the time we left the dining room was really starting to fill up. First impression was excellent. The restaurant was absolutely spotless and the interior is classy, cool, and modest all at the same time. It has a really great vibe without trying too hard, and they also have a very nice full bar. Rebeca was our server and she was fantastic. Seriously some of the best service I've had recently. She was friendly, attentive, knew the menu, and gave us some great recommendations. I'm also a bit of a tortilla chip snob, and these were some of the best chips I've ever had. Made in house, perfectly salted, fresh, and exactly the right thickness. AMAZING. We ordered the salsa flight and it was unbelievable. Every salsa had a totally different flavor. Some sweeter, some savory, some with more heat, and all of them were fantastic. The guacamole was delicious too. If you come here, do yourself a favor and get the salsas and guac. I asked Rebeca what she recommended for my meal and she suggested the birria burrito. Great call because it was phenomenal. Tons of flavor and one of those meals you're still thinking about afterward. I also had a chance to meet Rosalba, one of the owners, and she was wonderful. You can tell there is a lot of pride and care behind this restaurant. She was an incredibly sweet lady and showed a lot of care for the guests coming and going. Prices were very reasonable too, especially considering the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. Stumbled across this place looking for some Mexican food that was more authentic, less chain. This place did not disappoint! We started with the house made five salsa sampler with their really crispy chips. You must like crispy if you're gonna like their chips. From there we moved onto one of their specialty dishes, the pollo enchipotlado which was probably the best dish that we had out of our entire order. Highly recommend! We also tried their quesadilla with the add-on of chicken, which was also really unique. We tried their tacos carnitas, which was not my favorite, but the guys loved it. It's a little lacking in interior touches, but I guess if you're going to cook this good, consistently, you don't need to focus on that. But they should. For that, I'm leaving a four star review. Be prepared for the heat and flavor, some of the best I've had in a long time. Shrimp Tacos- Stuffed to the brim with lightly fried shrimp that were once again huge and delicious. The slaw and the two sauces they put on top were the perfect compliment to each other. Chimichanga-Deep fried and delicious with avocado creama on top. Quesobirria Tacos- Stuffed to the BRIM with meat and cheese, the consommé on the side was flavorful without being overwhelming. Flan de Coco- I'm not a flan kind of girl but kid 1 and 2 are, they both said that it was the creamiest flan they've ever had, so take that for what you will. My wife suggested we try Ta' Chingon and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant offers varied seating options to include a bar area. It looks like they can accommodate most groups but plan ahead because it filled up fast. We arrived for an early dinner to take advantage of happy hour. Our party of three waited 20ish minutes. SERVICE: The staff is great. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and well attended to. FOOD: The menu offers traditional and signature dishes, and the portions are generous. Ta' Chingon is hitting all the right notes on the West Side. Strong solid 4. Beyond the vibe and the exceptional service, it's a spot that clearly values hospitality and attention to detail. The food, however, is the real draw: Shrimp Tacos: These were executed perfectly. The shrimp were fresh and snappy, paired with vibrant toppings that made for a great, balanced bite. Pollo Enchipotlado: This was the highlight of the night. The craftsmanship of the sauce is incredible--the use of cashews creates an amazingly creamy, luxurious texture that carries the smoky heat of the chipotle perfectly. It's rich, complex, and easily one of the most memorable chicken dishes I've had in a long time. If you're looking for authentic flavors delivered with professional flair, this is the place. Came here at 6:30pm on a weekday and the restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. We ordered an appetizer of the salsa sampler, chicken fajitas for two, and a lychee martini. While the service and presentation were good, the food was lacking. The chicken fajitas were dry and didn't have the "fajita" flavor that we all know. The rice that came as a side was clumpy as if they scrapped the bottom of the pot for it. My friend ordered the lychee martini and she said it was overly sweet and could barely taste the alcohol, which isn't typical for a martini. I'm so glad we came in on a whim for my husband birthday lunch. We went straight to the point and ordered some guac and chicken/steak fajitas for two. We each got our own rice, beans, sour cream, and guac for our fajitas and we loved it! It was so much food we were able to feed our toddler and take some home. This place works really hard and it shows, the food was really great and so was the margarita. They have some TVs if you're into watching a game while dining in. My kids found it last week and when they said it was better than Juan's Flaming Fajitas (my old favorite), I didn't believe them. But it was well worth the 40 minute drive from Henderson. The servers were so friendly and attentive. The interior modern and clean. But the food was the star. So fresh and authentic tasting. Absolutely delicious! The Tacos de camaron were topped with fresh cabbage, chipotle and jalapeno dressings and mango pico de gallo. So bright and tasty. The Tacos Ta'Chingon were amazing topped with crispy cheese, flank steak, pico de gallo, guacamole and salsa. I highly recommend both. My family and close friends were planning on going to the Enchant event for the holidays and wanted a spot that could meet everyone's food preferences within 10 minutes of the ball park. We had zeroed in on Mexican food being a safe bet for anyone, and after looking at the vibe and the menu it seemed to be the best fit for us that night. What got me the most excited was they not only make their salsas in house, but they have such a large variety and variations you do not see at many other spots. You can even for 12 dollars get a sampler and we got 6 salsas to try. My mom also ordered an extra sampler to take home. I found the space nice and quiet, which was perfect for us as my baby fell asleep on the drive there. I got the tacos ta'vhingon that they grill the cheese face down so it gets crispy and had amazing sliced flank steak, guacamole, and pico de gallo. On the side they had a wonderful bean and meat soup that was so rich and flavorful. I felt the portions and flavor really were solid. My fiancé got the chicken, beef, and shrimp fajitas and I ate his left overs and was very satisfied especially with the chicken and beef. The horchata was decent, not crazy sweet which is what I liked the most, but not necessarily my favorite. I really like more texture and spices in mine. I wish this place was closer as I would honestly grab salsas weekly from them to add to my food. They had one that was creamy and sweet but had a heat at the end that was really good, as well as a few others that were just next level. The oil based ones I was not as into but they still had a place on the right dish for sure. Almost had asian food vibes. First order of business, we need to get something out of the way. Angelino of over 40 years, anyone from Los Angeles will understand, we are, Mexican food spoiled, in our City of Angels. You roll up to a strip mall and enter an amazing restaurant representing Mexican food in the most delicious dishes. I had the tacos ta'chingon and the wife had the carne en su jugo, both were great. The restaurant itself is very clean and the layout and design are esthetically pleasing. We were fortunate enough to have Rafael as our server. This restaurant opened about 4 months ago, and I'm glad I found it. It's not a large place. I was seated on the side toward the back which was good because they had a two top there and it was a sort of private dining area. I had looked at some of the photos on Yelp and I almost knew what I was getting before I looked at the menu. I started with the sopa Azteca--rich tomato soup and chili, topped with crispy tortilla strips, avocado, Mexican cream, and fresh cilantro. Next came the enchiladas tricolor. The menu describes it like this--3 enchiladas, three sauces. 1 enchilada smothered in tomatillo, another in red tomato, and the last one topped with our signature white cheese sauce. Filled with shredded chicken. Served with rice, beans, and a whole lot of Mexican love. For dessert I got the cheesecake con salsa de Jamaica. The soup was good but it's very heavy for a starter. I would skip this another time for something lighter. The tomato flavor was intense, and the tomato was very, very hot! It was nice to get apiece of avocado to cool the mouth a bit. Then came the enchiladas tricolor. A very good main course. Flavorful enchiladas with their different sauces and filled with shredded chicken. A small scoop of rice and some greens. It made for a delightful main course. However, as I said above, with the sopa, this was a lot to eat. But you can't forget dessert. The cheesecake was excellent. It had a texture that was unlike any I've had before. This was creamier than most I've had. The sauce is hibiscus which is infused in the cake and makes up the sauce with the cheesecake. Very good. The staff was busy but they found time to cover all the tables and always with a smile and good answers to questions! I am so glad I found this restaurant. It certainly merits another visit (or two). We came here on a Sunday during the World Cup, and it also happened to be my husband's birthday. We didn't mention it to anyone, but the staff overheard us talking and surprised him with a complimentary dessert. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our day even more special! I wish they would make a huge colorful sign so that you could actually see it. It's sort of hidden in a corner opposite a gas station so I'm sure most people drive right past it. The waiter stopped by and took drink orders, their margaritas are very good. We started with the complimentary Chips & Salsa and then Queso Fundido. The salsas were excellent, the chips were a little thick for my liking, but not bad. From there we ordered Carne en su Jugo and Enchiladas. The Carne en su Jugo was very tasty, but could have used more meat, it was more of a soup than a stew. The enchiladas were well prepared and delicious. Come hungry to Ta' Chingon! I had a big lunch- big mistake! The menu at this newer spot in the neighborhood has so many amazing offerings, it's hard to choose. Make the easy choice - Cadillac Margarita made by Carlito. Big, tasty and refreshing all in one glass. Harder choice was something to fill the small void that my tummy had available. I decided to go with their costal version of a Shrimp Cocktail. It arrived at the table with a tangy and sweet red sauce, big beautiful shrimp and slices of cucumber. There was also a crispy tortilla "hat" drizzled with a yummy avocado sauce. A great blend of flavors and textures that satisfies the taste buds. It was a perfect, light snack for me. Just moved around the corner, so we popped in for a quick happy hour. From the HH menu we went with: 2 beef tacos ($8 for two) - decent flavor, but presentation and portion felt pretty basic for the price. Steak fries ($10) - generous portion of well-seasoned, flavorful steak on top, but the fries themselves could use an upgrade. A better fry, crispier outside and fluffy inside, would take this from fine to something worth coming back for. Icy cold Modelo ($3 off) - I didn't even ask about the full beer selection, next time. House margarita ($8) - she said it was balanced and not overly sweet, easy to drink. Nothing we had was bad, but the happy hour menu feels like it is there because it has to be, not because it is the star of the show. The real win of the night was not on happy hour, the tostada atun. Bright, fresh, full of texture, and easily the best thing we tried. (Pics next time) What takes this from a three to four star is the tostada atun. We ordered the triple fajitas which included beef, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was very good, the beef was excellent, and the chicken was good, but got a little dry sitting on the hot plate. We really enjoyed the entire meal, and the way it was served. Beans and rice were served on a separate plate that included sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. Hot corn tortillas were also served with the fajitas. I ordered a strawberry mojito, which I'm very glad I did; super delicious!
