Congratulations, CHICA management--you somehow managed to remove the one thing that made this place worth coming back to. The service has always been great, so no complaints there. Unfortunately, the food continues to be mediocre and certainly isn't the reason I kept returning. What made CHICA enjoyable were the dancers, the performances, and the energy they brought to the restaurant. That was the experience. That was the entertainment. That was what separated CHICA from being just another overpriced restaurant with average food. Today, I was informed that management decided to cancel the dance performances. Brilliant decision. Apparently someone in management looked at the one thing customers actually enjoyed and thought, "You know what would make this place better? Let's get rid of it." I'm also clearly not the only person wondering what happened. Other customers were asking why the dancers were no longer performing. Maybe management should take the hint. As a local customer who has returned multiple times, I'm done. There is absolutely no reason for me to keep coming back now. Mediocre food without the entertainment is just... mediocre food. Whoever made the decision to eliminate the performances should seriously reconsider their understanding of hospitality and customer experience. If this was supposed to be an improvement, I'd hate to see what management considers a bad decision. And while you're reviewing questionable decisions, please do something about the DJ. I thought it would be brighter and roomier. We came for brunch on a weekday and sat at a booth towards the back. The service was just alright - a little on the lukewarm side. Every food item on the Happy Hour menu is $12, which makes it a great way to try a variety of dishes without spending a fortune in Vegas. We ordered the shrimp tacos, CHICA nachos, Firecracker Wings, quesa-birria empanadas, potato flautas, shrimp ceviche, and ahi tuna bites. Everything was absolutely delicious, and there honestly wasn't a bad dish in the bunch. One thing to keep in mind is that these truly are small plates. Don't expect a lot of food with each $12 dish. They're perfect for ordering several different things and sharing, but if you're really hungry, you'll definitely want to order multiple plates. The Firecracker Wings had a really nice kick to them. We loved the spice, but if you have a lower spice tolerance, be careful with those! Also, a heads-up about the shrimp ceviche: CHICA's version is more tomato-based rather than the bright, lime-forward ceviche you might be expecting. It was still really good, but if you don't like tomato-based ceviche, that's definitely something to know before ordering. For drinks, we tried the CHICA-Rita, Palomita, and Tommy's Margarita. They were running a 2-for-1 drink special for $21 total, which was such a great deal, especially for Vegas. The menu wasn't huge, but still had a good variety of sweet and savory options, as well as bigger and lighter bites. My friend and I made dinner reservations a couple of months ahead, then like two weeks before, we decided to change to an earlier time. Thankfully they still had plenty of times available. This is our second time to Chica and it lived up to our memories. Just like last time when 9pm rolled around 2 beautiful dancers appered, the staff all brought out light sticks and handed them to us. The staff danced around the restaurant with the glow sticks, party mysic was blaring, and the dancers danced on the bar! Even the staff next to the grill got into the party, it was a great experience. Awhile later the dancers returned and this time one of them was dancing with FIRE sticks! She did a great job even being so close to patrons. The dancers joined the dance floor that opened up with a DJ and live bongo drummer. This meal was met with a true party experience. Speaking of the food everything that hit our table was spot on, and that was for a group of 7. We had 4 vegetarians and although they had a good amount of options on the menu, the waitress asked if we had had an food restrictions and we mentioned there being 4 vegetarians in our group she offered to have the chorizo in our queso fundido on the side and to check with the cheff if there were any additional items she could recommend off of the menu which she did and 2 went with it - mushrooms tacos - and that was truly the star of the show, besides the dancers . I've been to the Miami location before and loved the food, so I had high expectations coming in. The good news: the food here is still fresh, flavorful, and high quality, just like Miami. We started with the guacamole and salsas, followed by the ceviche de camarones, which was refreshing and well-balanced. For dessert, we ordered the flaming skull, and wow! The presentation is beautiful: chocolate skull over lava cake with a side of horchata ice cream, marshmallow cream, and berries. Definitely a fun and memorable way to end the meal - see the video. First time we were there the decor was totally different & I must say I am completely obsessed with their new decor! The vibes transport you to Havana, Cuba! The greenery mixed with the red, just stunning! Lighting is everything in this restaurant! I've seen chef Lorena Garcia growing up on the food network and it was an honor having her food again! The food is delicious! My only complaint is I wished the poke came with more of a sauce or side of soy sauce, it ate dry. When I asked for soy sauce the waiter said they didnt have it but hed source it from somewhere else. I truly appreciate the service & attentiveness of the staff. Definitely recommend! read more
