The price of two glasses of wine and water is too much outside of happy hour. Service: 3/10 When we came in a poetry night was going on which was really cool. Someone was performing when we walked in. To our surprise No ones greets you as you walk in so we had to find seats ourselves. The only table we found was not wiped off or cleaned which is okay because I would assume that the server would see it and then wipe off the table. But it never got cleaned. Which is a red flag for me. The server came by and asked us to scan the QR code to see the menu. I do like QR code menus to make things simple. We ordered 1 glass of red wine and some bottled of water. Now, we did this to taste the quality as when you order things you start off with a starter and order more if you like what you taste. When our server came she brought the bottled water and the glass of wine. We tasted the wine and it didn't taste as high quality as we wanted. So we decided not to order anymore as we assumed that the rest of the items in the menu wouldn't be as good as we expected. Then the person that was hosting the night just said as because they were doing a poetry night that we as customers should support and order from the menu, which makes sense. So we thought we were good as we did order some items. We enjoyed the poetry that happened and then saw more and more people coming in and since we ordered just the two items we rushed to drink our items and asked our server if we could check out. She said since we got the only two items she had to charge $10 minimum for each of our seats or we could order more items to meet a minimum which we were unaware of. We asked if she could give us a moment to decide. We were thrown off by this as we wished she would have told us at the beginning. Also, the fact we didn't like the wine we weren't expecting to order more. So my partner ordered another wine and I just paid the additional $10 for my seat. If the wine was good I would have definitely ordered a lot of it gladly but the fact it wasn't good made the whole experience not good. Now we could have ordered food but we didn't want to order as we just ate so didn't make sense to order food. I just wish the server could have accommodated us but she said she couldn't which was disappointing. Ambiance: 3/10 Ive been to many hookah lounges and by far because of the dirty table that was never cleaned and it being the smokiest one I've been to, we didn't enjoy the ambiance as much as we wanted. If you look at the attached photo you can see the table. Now the poetry was a 10/10 and We enjoyed the poetry/open mic, just wish someone told us what we were getting into when we arrived. Overall 3/10: Now, I really don't like rating places this low of a review but because of everything that happened I just felt like the establishment was against us. All I ask for is to be upfront about any minimums and also the 20% service charge totally took us by surprise. Now it could have been listed somewhere but we might have just missed it.

She then she comes to charge us and in her language she tells her employee " With these people you need to tell them first" not knowing that our friend knew her language because she's Ethiopian too. I understand that some want a intimate close with their group/buddies but some just want a bit of space. It wasn't as much of an issue this time because it wasn't as busy. Drinks used to be good but it seems like their bartender (forgot the name) needs help or training... shouldn't be struggling making a Manhattan or old fashioned.
