    Sushi roll + bbq oyster
    Tony M.

The best culinary experience I've had in Las Vegas! Hole in the wall spot serving some of the best food in LV! Allen is great people and service is second to none! He asked what we wanted then asked if we trusted him and said yes and let him drive from there. We started off with half salmon half tuna crispy rice.oysters, oyster shooters that were in this sauce that I could drink all day! Some of the best oysters I've had in Las Vegas and the salmon and tuna were on point! We then got the amberjack that was spectacular! Then got the fried lobster WoW! The batter was so light and crispy and flavorful and the lobster was perfect and the sauce was perfect The octopus was delicious in that orange cashew sauce with broccoli and potatoes. Jesus take the wheel! Then we got otoro, tuna and salmon belly nigiri! Just wow fat pieces of sushi and so fresh. Then got 2 rolls but I forgot the names lol Then as a dessert we got the Caviar w/lebneh on French toast! Fantastic and his version of a Sunday that was fantastic with brownie We also gave us some sake that was some of the best I've ever had! Check photos. Then asked us what we like to drink and make some tequila Saturns and some of the best drinks I've had in LV. The miso cod was so tasty and light I was shocked! The bbq oysters we so damn good too. Next time we trying the crab cakes and steak and Japanese chicken His menu is out of bounds! Everything is outstanding!! Not enough great things to say definitely going to be my and my ladies new date night spot going forward!!

Other Mama Recipt: Got there at 7:30 pm - left at 9:08 pm!! HUNGRY!

I made a 7:30 PM Valentine's reservation at Other Mama after a colleague recommended it. We drove 17 minutes expecting a special evening. HUGE mistake! We arrived on time. Despite having a reservation, we stood there awkwardly until someone suggested we sit at the bar. No warmth. No apology. Just "you can sit there." We ordered immediately: * 1/2 dozen oysters * Sashimi: chutoro, salmon belly, yellowtail belly, amberjack, uni * Cucumber salad * Caviar French toast * Ocean trout carpaccio * "Lover's Club" cocktail * Asahi zero alcohol * Fresh wasabi and Pellegrino Drinks and cucumber salad arrived. Oysters followed Shortly after. And then... nothing. We waited. And waited. And waited. For almost one full hour. No updates. No apology. No "your order is coming." Just us sitting there starving while watching plates fly out to other guests. At 8:50 PM, I finally asked them to cancel the rest of our order and bring the check. That's how long we had been ignored. Magically, after asking to cancel, the sashimi plate appeared. Missing the amberjack. And the portions? The salmon belly and uni were embarrassingly small. I genuinely regret not taking a photo -- the size of these 2 was honestly shocking for what they charge. By that point we were extremely hungry, so we ate what was placed in front of us and again asked to cancel the remaining food. When the bill arrived, it still included items we never received -- including the missing amberjack. We had to ask them to remove charges for food that never arrived. On Valentine's night!! With only two sushi chefs working the bar, shameful to say the least. If you cannot handle reservations on the busiest night of the year, do not book them. Be honest. Tell guests you're overwhelmed. Don't trap people into waiting an hour in silence while their special night falls apart. We left still hungry and incredibly disappointed. Then we drove about 15 minutes to Sushi Hiro. The difference was like day and night! Five sushi chefs at the bar. Immediate greeting. Food started arriving within minutes. Outstanding quality. Larger portions. Much Better service. Look at the receipts from the 2 places, you can see what time we arrived to each restaurant. The time stamps clearly show how long we were stuck at Other Mama -- and how quickly we were seated and fed at Sushi Hiro. Look at the photos I've attached from both places. The contrast speaks for itself. Sushi Hiro's Kamashita (super fatty tuna with caviar and gold flakes) was phenomenal, and unforgettably special, like Valentine's dinner should feel! Other Mama: this was not a small mistake. This was systematic failure: * Poor staffing * Poor communication * VERY Poor portion control * Poor accountability You had a reservation. You had an order. You had customers willing to spend money. And you completely blew it. Thank you, Sushi Hiro, for saving our night. Other Mama: we take food seriously, and so do the people who listen to us. When we talk about a restaurant, others go. Or they don't! Congratulations on giving us something unforgettable to talk about; for All the wrong reasons.

Such a nice local secret! Independent restaurant. Lots of menu items. A sushi bar where you can sit. Full bar. Beer on tap and bottled beers. Excellent sashimi/sushi options. Friendly staff and servers. Knowledgeable staff on sashimi. Fresh wasabi! Dessert options. Sufficient parking. Nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms.

This was my second time at Other Mama. The first time was years ago because so many of my friends loved it. I decided to try again as they were on Restaurant Week. First, I will say that the interior has changed quite a bit which is a huge positive. They have upgraded the restaurant and it's got a much cooler vibe than it did years ago. There is a main dining room and a separate bar area that also has table. We sat in the bar area and they had the game and fight playing but it didn't feel like a sports bar, honestly gave the vibe a nice casual first date spot. Second, the service was great. The servers explained all the dishes and were very accommodating to all of our allergies and food restrictions. They explain everything to make sure it matched what we needed. The courses were a little slow but it was to be expected with the restaurant week demand. Now for the food, the first course was oyster, tuna tostada, and shrimp ceviche. My wife loved the tuna tostada with the pickled onions because it gave a sweetness to the dish. Funny enough, that's what I disliked about it. I found the shrimp ceviche to be a bit flavorless and tough. The oysters were GREAT. Second course was the Japanese fried chicken & Caviar Aioli. This was pretty good but not nearly one of the better karaage dishes that I've had in the past. The seared ocean trouts carpaccio was the second choice and it was perfect. The flavors were bright, clean, and delicious! The third course was the nigiri set and all the sushi was fresh and good. Fourth course was grilled wagyu steak and miso black marinated cod. The wagyu steak was a bit tough for Wagyu but it was cooked well. I didn't love the hollandaise sauce on its the miso black marinated cod was also cooked perfected with a crispy skin. But as most miso black cod, it was very one note and super rich in flavor. Overall, the food for me all seems a bit sweeter than what I personally prefer. I wish I could give this place a 3.5 star rather than a 3 but for me it's definitely closer to a 3 than 4.

We visited Other Mama during Restaurant Week and did their $60 prix fixe menu with four courses. I can honestly say it was 100 percent worth it. The service was a bit slow and it took about 40 minutes to get our first course, but once the food started coming, everything was excellent and well-portioned. We all left full and satisfied. The inside is also very clean and nicely set up. There were four of us, so we split the options to try everything. For the first course, we got the mixed seafood platter and the freshness of the seafood really stood out. For the second course, half of us ordered the Japanese fried chicken and the other half got the seared ocean trout carpaccio. The carpaccio was our favorite. The third course was a seven-piece nigiri set for each of us, and this alone made the meal feel like a great deal. The fish tasted incredibly fresh and our server explained each one to us. This set normally runs around forty-one dollars on its own, so getting it as part of the full sixty-dollar menu was a steal. The fourth course was ice cream and everyone's favorite was either the coconut or the miso flavor. It was a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food was fantastic and we are already planning to come back. It also looks like they have a solid happy hour menu we want to try next.

Came in for Restaurant Week. For 60 dollars a person it was an excellwnt deal. Nice open space with comfortable seating. Service was good. A touch slow at points but attentive. They always stopped by to let us know what was up. The food was excellent. Well seasoned and presented. I could eat their Karage 3 times a day no problem. Tuna Tosatada and oysters were fantastic. I opted for the Miso Cod which was amazing tried the Wagyu steak too (stolen from the wife's plate) which was buttery and tender. The Nigiri plate was a hit as well. I also need about a gallon of the Honey Miso Ice Cream. Will most certainly be back

A hidden gem off the Strip, Other Mama delivers inventive seafood with bold flavors. For Restaurant Week, the 4-course menu is a steal. We started with the seafood platter - fresh, citrusy, with just the right kick. The main, the 7 pieces nigiri and steak, was buttery and perfectly cooked. The fish were super fresh!!! Dessert was a light miso honey ice cream - refreshing and not too sweet, but highlight of the whole meal. Service was warm and attentive, and the vibe is cozy but modern. A must-try if you're into sushi and creative small plates. Book early - it gets packed.

I have been in Vegas for 9 years & have only discovered this place now! It's a cute hidden gem on Durango. Visited on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was pretty filled. We decided to sit at the bar to watch the fresh sushi rolls being made by the Chef. For starters, we did get the caviar French toast. Delicious! We also ordered the Brussel sprouts (5/5), Volcano Roll (10/5), Miso Cod (10/5), and a Brownie Sundae with Miso Honey Ice Cream (3/5) -Just get the scoop of ice cream! The food came out quickly, and the service was great! The servers constantly checked up on us and refilled our beverages. The Chef was kind & chatted with us. I highly recommend Other Mama! Prices are decent. And plenty of options! Next time I will try the Nigiri or even Sashimi set!

There's some great food off the strip in Las Vegas and this is one of them. Other mama is tucked into a strip mall providing phenomenal meals. We each had a cocktail, the special was a blueberry old fashioned and was an amazing creation. The crab cakes were delicious and the sushi was all so good and fresh. Highly recommend other mama to locals and non locals!

Love this spot! It's 5 minutes from my house but I only get here for special occasions. Popped in for an early valentine's dinner. It got packed that night but the service was on point. I love how it's casual but elegant at the same time. Dare I say this is the freshest seafood I've had in the city. They never miss! I look forward to the next visit!

A little hole in the wall that you won't want to miss! If you're looking for strip quality food without the price tag I'd recommend you stop by this gem - located in a little strip mall on Durango. We celebrated a friend's birthday here over the weekend and had a great time. From the service to the food, we were not disappointed. We ordered family style so we could have a little bit of everything. Not pictured here is the deluxe sashimi platter that comes out on a stunning display, kimchi fried rice, cucumber salad, steak and fries, spicy tuna waffle fries and all of our delicious drinks.

This is a Restaurant week menu hit out of the park. You get to try a little bit of a lot of things on the menu and it really showcased the innovative and creative dishes. The stand out for me was the ocean trout carpaccio. The flavors were unbeatable and honestly I've never tried Ocean trout and now I can say I'm a fan. Buttery smooth and melts in your mouth. The miso honey home made ice cream was so delicious and the perfect and to the tasting. Our server was outstanding, the food was timed perfectly, and it was so wonderful to see Chef Dan come around to the tables and check in. It made the whole night really special. 10/10 no notes!

This was my first time visiting other mama seafood restaurant. We had a delightful server who was quick to provide us with all the necessities to enjoy a fine meal. I like the way the restaurant was set up with the sushi bar and lounge. There was some wonderful artwork on the wall that gave just the right vibe. We ordered crispy rice, rolls of salmon, tuna, and the specialty other mom roll. The food was delicious !

While looking for a new place for lunch, we stumbled into this shopping center on the corner of Fort Apache and Charleston. It is tucked away in a shopping mall and could be hard to miss. My hubby had their chicken scallopine which was absolutely delicious served with sides of risotto and shredded fresh veggies. It was fantastic. I had a side salad with fresh veggies and shrimp scampi. The scampi was a bit over "capered," however, with everything else about this experience, I can overlook it.
