First time here and the fish and chips were so good! Definitely hit the spot. The service was pretty good, and she gave me some good recommendations to choose from. The ambience was nice and the place had a really good vibe. I'd definitely come back!

This place just opened not too far from me, and since I'm a huge fan of Cajun food and shrimp, I knew I had to check it out. Mike was our server, and he was fantastic. He took the time to walk us through the menu, including the different seafood boils, which was extremely helpful for first-time visitors. We ordered the 2-pound Naked Shrimp Boil with the Trifecta seasoning, the Shrimp & Grits Bowl, and the Appetizer Sampler with fried pickles, fried shrimp, and onion rings. The shrimp boil...WOW! It was packed with flavor, and the shrimp were incredibly juicy and tender. Easily a 10/10. I also tried the potatoes, and they were delicious. They soaked up all of that amazing seasoning and were the perfect addition. The Shrimp & Grits Bowl was another winner. We ordered it with the Trifecta seasoning, and the shrimp had a crispy topping that added great texture and flavor. It was absolutely delicious. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the appetizer sampler. I'm glad I tried it, but for the price, it just wasn't worth it. The fried shrimp and onion rings were pretty average, while the fried pickles were the standout. They have a rich, buttery flavor because they're sprayed with butter just before they're brought to the table. Here's what really says it all--I've been back almost every week since my first visit about a month ago, and I've even brought friends and family so they could experience the food. That's how much I enjoy it. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because I've noticed the daytime crew seems to be more consistent than the evening crew. During one dinner visit, my shrimp boil was still good, but it seemed like they forgot some of the seasoning. It just didn't have that bold, flavorful kick that made me fall in love with it the first time. Overall, if you're craving Cajun seafood, especially shrimp, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Just don't skip the shrimp boil with the Trifecta seasoning--it's the star of the menu!

We love seafood and was really looking forward to trying this place out. We just tried a similar concept in San Diego and enjoyed the other place. What I noticed was the garlic used in the sauce here is not fresh, but garlic from a jar. The staff was friendly, but our waitress seemed overwhelmed. I asked for the fried oysters and not over cooked. Our whole meal came out and the fried oyster appetizer was not even out. She forgot to put in the order and it came out overcooked. The value of the lunch menu was good, but the food isn't that great. The shrimp boil lunch item was a good portion size and came with a corn and potato. The burger came out burnt and the manager helped take care of it right away.

Great customer service and great Food . We had a great time.

Debating that the advertising of catfish, the taste, texture and appearance was that of Swai fish. I called and inquired and was confirmed it was catfish. Ended up driving back and returning the item for a refund. The manager was not rude at all, but failed to even look at the Deshawn I asked why it had marks of red on the fried fish, resembling imitation crab like meat in my opinion.

So we headed to Kracy Cajun Seafood and Hibachi in Tempe, chasing a little seafood satisfaction in the middle of the desert. The first thing that grabs you is the full-wall screen: sea turtles and beautiful fish drifting across it, turning dinner into something resembling a seat inside an aquarium. It's cool. The atmosphere is mellow, laid-back, and welcoming. We were seated almost immediately, and our server got the drink order going without wasting time. So far, so good. The menu was easy to navigate. I built my own boil: one pound of headless shrimp, sausage, two potatoes, one corn, and a $2 hard-boiled egg. I went with the "all flavor" seasoning, hot, and an unsweetened iced tea. Now, two dollars for a boiled egg deserves a moment of silence. I've seen cartons of 18 eggs for under five bucks at Costco or Sam's Club. I understand restaurant markup, but apparently this egg had aspirations. We also ordered Cajun fries. Small basket, good execution: crispy, seasoned just right, and worth reaching across the table for another one. Then came the bag. I gave it a proper shake, worked that sauce around, and emptied the whole glorious mess into my bowl. This is food that asks you to get your hands dirty, and I'm perfectly fine with that. The shrimp were a decent size and cooked just right. The sausage--about eight coin-sized slices--tasted good. The corn was ordinary but enjoyable. My premium-priced egg seemed to have spent a little too much time in boiling water. And the two potatoes? Missing in action. When the server came around, I mentioned the disappearance. He gave me a look that seemed slightly doubtful but said he'd get them right away. "Right away" turned into about five to ten minutes. They eventually arrived. At the table, you can get that fixed. With takeout, you might already be home before realizing your seventy-five-cent potatoes--or that two-dollar egg--never made the trip. But let's give the kitchen its due: the sauce was excellent. Big flavor, satisfying heat, and enough restraint with the salt to let the shrimp actually taste like shrimp. It coated everything beautifully. This was a pretty good meal, and I enjoyed eating it. Then came the math: $48, including tip, for one person. At that price, I start paying closer attention to every missing potato. I also visited the restroom. Luis came with me and handed it an F on the Luis Scale. It was filthy. A restaurant can put sea turtles on the wall and serve a delicious seafood boil, but the bathroom needs some attention, too. That kind of neglect leaves an impression the sauce can't wash away. Would I recommend it? If you want a flavorful seafood boil and the price doesn't bother you, yes. There's good food here. For me, though, the cost, missing potatoes, and restroom made this a one-time visit. On to the next. And don't forget to tip your servers.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more Tempe Eats 85 E. Southern Avenue Tempe, 85282 This is a new restaurant that took over the former Tempe Eats. It has only been open for about 3 weeks at this time. Companion and I decided to have lunch there. It is a spacious restaurant with both covered outside eating and non covered outside eating areas as well as the inside space. First thing that was noticed was that it was spotlessly clean. While the menu has a part of it dedicated to Japanese food and another pard dedicated to Mexican food, we were there to have the Cajun food. Companion ordered the Jambalaya. A rather large bowl of excellent Jambalaya that had andouille sausage and shrimp in it along with a portion of excellently seasoned rice with onions and peppers. Companion loved the dish but was unable to finish the portion. For myself, I ordered Shrimp and Grits. I was given a choice of grilled shrimp or fried shrimp, and regular grits or cheese grits. I ordered the grilled shrimp and the cheese grits. It came in the same size bowl as companions. This was by far the best shrimp and grits I have ever had in this state. Perfectly grilled shrimp, and real, not instant cheese grits. Also in this were slices of andouille sausage that very definitely was not made in this state. When I inquired about the food, the chef informed me that the ingredients come from back east and were brought in fresh. For dessert, we each had fresh made beignets covered in powdered sugar and piping hot. They came with a small order of caramel sauce that could also be put on them. Companion actually embarrassed me by licking the cup that the sauce came in till it was as clean as new! I consider this to be one of the best lunches I have had in years, and will definitely be returning for more of their excellent food. 5 Stars
