We got the Fingerling Potato, Maitake Mushroom, and Marg pizzas--all were absolutely smoking hits. I love the concept of potato on pizza and really liked the garlic cream + arugula combo. I had been stalking this restaurant on Yelp and couldn't wait to go on a Friday after work. This place did not disappoint. I got the pepperoni pizza that had basil & hot honey on it - it was simply delicious. The size of the pie was perfect. The pepperoni honey pizza is def the star of the show. It's perfectly sweet-salty balanced and full of different textures that got my senses confused (but in a good way!). Or maybe it does, just not like this. Price is high though. Two small pizzas came out to around $50, for take out. The pepperoni honey was 100% worth it and I'd come back just for that. We managed to get a table for two here on a busy Friday! The wait for walk in wasn't too long maybe 30 minutes at 730pm. We got the margarita pizza and the brisket. I really enjoyed the margarita and their chilli sauce is just delicious. The meat one was said to be too much salad - I added some of the salad to my vegetarian pizza and I liked it. Nice option for a date night! Loved the pepperoni - it was both savory and sweet due to the honey they drizzle on top. Prices seemed to be pretty standard. It was fun to sit right next to the oven where they fire all their pizzas. If you do go, I'd recommend a reservation. I love this place! We came after yoga and arrived a bit early, so wasn't too packed. Best part were the prices were great--especially for S.F.--and the vibes were even better. The pizzas were solid--though I didn't 100% love the margherita, but that's more on me being a traditionalist. I really like a thick tomato sauce, and the pesto on this one distracted a bit from the cheese-and-tomato flavor I usually look for. I like to gauge quality by the three main elements of a Margherita, the dough(A) the tomato (A-) and the cheese (B-) The extra pesto(F) That said, the date pizza was super delicious, (I did it no bacon, and it was super lovely) and the endive salad was great too. I had a non-alcoholic beer and my friend had a glass of wine--both perfect. The atmosphere was exactly what I love: friendly, unpretentious Mission District energy. Many places in San Francisco to grab pizza in San Francisco. The Mission District has been a little behind in the past when it comes to pizza. Today the Mission District has lots of pizza offerings from pizza parlors expanding. There are some home grown Mission District ones like Pizzeria Delfina and Flour +Water. Then on 16th street just past Guerrero street the first Nizarrio Pizza was established and set the tone and foundation of the current Mission Pizza scene. On an Autumn stroll through my childhood neighborhood and block on 16th and Guerrero and just past Spencer alley ( iykyk) and before Dolores street there is one of the best pizza places in all San Francisco. At first I was skeptical because of the location ( so many stories). I entered Angie's Pizza and it was welcoming. This place was playing vintage battle rapper Sparky D ( use to battle Roxanne Shante) music which made this place stand out along with the ambience and the layout. I tried the Pepperoni pizza which had Garlic Chili Honey, and Basil. It wasn't too doughy and had the right amount of cheese and the pepperoni was crispy and delicious. The next pizza I tried was the Margherita which consisted of Mozzarella and Basil. The sauce was tasty and firewood pizza thin crust was the right texture and it wasn't too cheesy. Lastly I had the Toasted marshmallow ice cream which was one best ice creams I had in a while. Must plan a visit to Angie's on 16th street between Guerrero and Dolores street. Although they can't accommodate huge groups, they have booth, bar, and table seating for everyone. The food is solid - the chef rotates the menu items seasonally. I am not a person that likes honey on my pizza or at least I thought I wasn't but I decided to give it a try and it was fantastic and nothing at all like I expected it would be. Meaning it wasn't overly sweet. I think that the sweetness and the heat combined with the savoriness of the pepperoni, just balances everything out. I will say that the pizza is definitely on the smaller side but I think that the price is fair. A lot of places you go to the prices are closer to $30 so I think that you're still getting bang for your buck especially because visiting this restaurant with its ambience and charm makes it well worth it. This is a really cozy and unique spot in the Mission Dolores area, with a really unassuming exterior! They have a small food menu of apps, pizzas, and dessert, but each item seems thoughtfully crafted and prepared. We got the marinated cucumbers, the Date pizza, and cheesecake sundae to share and it came out to about $30pp. The pizza was the star of the show, with pops of sweetness from the dates and creaminess from the goat cheese that I was surprised I enjoyed so much! It comes out piping hot from the huge pizza oven, and then they cover it in shaved radicchio and balsamic drizzle. It's equally a great spot for a cozy date or a stand-out dinner for visitors. This place is all about the pizza, with the dazzling black pizza oven as the establishment's centerpiece. We had the hot sausage pizza, which was surprisingly puckish -- the smoked cheddar gave the classic Italian pizza a solidly American twist. We also enjoyed the mixed green salad, with a light vinegar dressing to cut through the heavy, flavorful pizza. We also gave in and got the meatballs as well -- don't skip them, if you've still got room in your tummy for them! The surprise stand out of the night was the Ghia Spritz -- a $6 canned mocktail, it had a delightfully complex flavor and hit all the same notes as a cocktail worth twice its price. If you're skipping the booze for the evening, the Ghia is a must!!! We liked it so much that we went and bought a pack from the grocery store -- however, there was just something about having it at Angie's that made it even more tasty. I made a reservation on resy for a same day dinner on a Saturday. We got the date pizza and chopped romaine salad to share. Both were delicious! The salad was light and crispy and the salt and vinegar chips acted as a fun twist on a crouton. The pizza was flavorful with the sweetness from the dates, freshness from the radicchio salad on top, and some heat from the chili (not too spicy). FINALLY got to try this place! Have been wanting to for ages since it opened. We were able to get a res for 6 of us a day or two before. This is a quaint place. Def unassuming from the outside but with lots of character on the inside. Has like old school pizza/diner vibes but also like a cool modern but retro feel. Decent selection of non-cocktail drinks as well as home made ice cream highlight the menu. We ordered four pizzas - pepperoni, Brussels sprouts, margherita, and date. We also ordered the carrots, chicory and meatball appetizers. The carrots were solid, the meatballs were very good! My fav pizza by far was the pepperoni - they had mikes hot honey and the flavors were great. I will say sourdough crust is not my favorite but they do it very well. These pizzas are on the artisanal side, they are also thin and pretty small, the kind of pizza slice that leaves you feeling like you need more because you can finish it in a few bites. One of the best things we had though was the vanilla ice cream. So so good! Def recommend Service was also excellent, no complaints. This is a solid 4.5 star but rounding down only because the pizza was just very solid rather than mind blowing - based off other reviews I thought it might be a top 5-8 pizza I've ever had! Best pizza in SF! Although it was tempting to just grab a pizza slice from across the street, I'm glad we didn't! We waited 20 mins outside til they open at 5pm and it's worth it! Ordered 2 Margherita pizzas with mushrooms because it's so good that one isn't enough. We were the only customers at that time and the pizza was fast and it was only in the oven for about 5 mins. Really good pizza in an adorable restaurant! I came here with a friend on a Friday and we were able to find a reservation the day of. It was full when we got there, bustling with music playing in the background. The energy was great! We got some wine and the date pizza. Their wine selection is pretty expansive and has some unique glasses on there -- would recommend checking it out. The pizza itself was delicious, packed with cheesy, salty goodness. I wish there was a bit more date on there, however, the quality overall was unbeatable. The only reason for 4 stars is the service. We found it really rushed and impersonal, eg. our plates were cleared while we were still finishing our meal. Huge shout out to Angie's pizza for hosting my 10 person birthday party. I mistakenly made a reservation for a wrong date (a week afte) but Angie's pizza saved the day and fitted us in on a Saturday evening. We ordered one of every pizza and then three more because it was so delicious. Our group especially loved the pepperoni (+sausage), date, salami, and corn pizzas. The only minor gripe is that the glasses of wine here are pricier than I would like at about $15 for a small-ish glass. Otherwise - I LOVED this place. Be prepared it is DARK in there, but we got used to it. We split the broccoli rabe pizza (SPICY) - added sausage and also had a salad. Adding the sausage to that pizza was a pro move - and it is the kind of sausage I like: de-cased, and in big juicy chunks. The crust is thin and crispy - really a quality pizza, and I will be back to try other flavors. Our server was quick and efficient, when it came to dessert - I was gonna pass, but my partner wanted to try the homemade ice cream. There were 2 flavors - the mint and the banana. Fun fact - our server embroidered an ode to the mint ice cream in a small piece of art near the front of the counter, look for it on the wall. FUN!!! - We ordered the mint - and it is so fresh mint forward, I can say it has kinda ruined a "regular" mint chip for me. It was a little less sweet than normal ice cream and topped with a cookie and some hot fudge. Definitely worth the splurge. I am sad that the deaf-owned and operated pizzeria previously in this space could not survive COVID, but happy that it remain a pizzeria committed to a great pie! read more
