Came here for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon around 2:30. Oh my God the food here is amazing! I got the lunch special salt and pepper fish with chow mein. This was the best lunch special I've had in quite some time. The fish was cooked perfectly and season well with just enough spiciness to give it the kick it needs. The fish was not greasy at all. A good amount of fish and then the chow mein was excellent! I haven't had a good chow mein in a while either. Usually it's overly salty or overly greasy with no flavor. Andy's kitchen knocked it out of the park. The first bite of the chow mein I was sent to heaven! If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be back. This is a pretty small restaurant and we had a big party so I called to make reservations ahead of time. They didn't take into account the number of kids we had so there wasn't enough seating, but luckily we came before dinner rush so they were able to add on another table. The food was coming out unusually quick but I was super hungry so no complaints here. The xiao long bao was a bit disappointing, barely any soup and the wrapper was super thick. I did enjoy the shanghai dumpling which had sticky rice inside, which I've never seen before. The wrapping on the siumai and steamed dumplings were also very thick. The garlic noodles and combo chow mein were tasty. Service was great, they were always checking to take away plates on our crowded table and they were very kid friendly - they had plastic children's dishes and disposable utensils for them. My review on the food would be 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up because of the service. Overall it's nice that they offer dim sum all day (the main reason I picked this place) especially in this area, but otherwise I would not drive all the way here again for it since I like other options that are much closer to home. But if you are looking for quick and efficient service this is a great spot for Chinese food and convenient location next to the Folsom Outlets. read more

Found this place yesterday, and I loved it! I had the shrimp chow mein, and it was really good! It took maybe 5 minutes for my order ( at 4 pm), and it was very good. The leftovers are today's dinner, and I will be back. Came in around 2pm and was greeted immediately by the staff, which is great! This spot has casual vibes and you're treated like family. The food came out pretty quickly and all it was delicious! It was the best Chinese food I've had in a couple of years. I recently tried and old favorite and it wasn't up to its normal or past quality. The food here was delicious. Last minute decided to try Andy's Kitchen and we walked in 50 mins before they closed but they were quick with the service. Once we ordered our food maybe 5 mins later things started to come out. The egg drop soup was really good and flavorful, I don't know if they had white pepper but didn't want to ask so just used black. The pork dumplings were also really good except it stuck to the paper and we lost majority of the soup probably our fault because we didn't eat it right when it first came out. The spicy wontons were excellent and had great flavor. The calamari was one of the best I have ever had. It was super fresh and the had a great crunch to calamari ratio, 1000% recommend ordering also we had to ask for the sweet and sour dipping sauce. When we left basically the whole staff said thank you for coming. Very glad we got to support this small business! Restaurant was very clean and not a lot of commotion but we were there a little before closing. read more

So, coming from a previous restauranteur myself, hat's off to this guy. The way he diffused a situation was pretty awesome! He gave me a credit...which I will not be using! The entire meal was entirely enjoyable, so thank you. We'll start there, thank you for the great service and great food! SWEET & SOUR PORK Fantastic! Plenty of delicious pork, perfectly breaded and prepared. Plenty of yummy vegetables, a great go-to entree VEGGIE CHOWMEIN Obviously, waaaaay better than Panda lol. Again, perfect amount of noodles and vegetables. My kids loved and so did I! Personally I love those skinny noodles! HOT & SOUR SOUP Not super flavorful but it was good enough. No complaints really, just not the best I have had. All good though, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Would I order it again, absolutely! Can't really comment on the ambiance, my wife picked up the food. Restaurant was clean and bright. No wait for a table of 6. Service was not good even though food was decent. There were 2 people working. The lady at the register and the guy was the server. He spoke maybe 2 words to us the whole time and just pointed and gestured at things. (No it didn't seem like a disability. He was just kind of rude.). When he brought the first dish, he placed it on the seam of the 2 tables making it unstable. Not a good server at all. And then for each subsequent dish, instead of moving plates over, he would stare at us standing there with the food until we moved things around. And he didn't take away empty plates to make space unless I handed it to him. It was just really weird. He gave off a bad unhelpful vibe. Later on, the lady came out and started taking plates away and handing us a couple of dishes. She was totally normal and nice. The food was decent for that area. Out of all the items we ordered, only the pan fried seafood noodles were not good. The rest of the times had good flavor (deep fried tofu, salt and pepper fish, Peking ribs, chicken wings, soup dumplings). The egg flower soup was more a tofu soup but still tasted good. We always order from them for delivery and very happy with the food. Since we were in Folsom for mothers day we sat in. I was able to call in and have a table ready when we got there. The place is in the shopping center and smaller. They have friendly service and food came out pretty fast. We ordered a lot of food including noodles, rice, dim sum, war wonton soup, garlic noodles, honey walnut shrimp. Everything was delicious. This is our favorite place to order Chinese food from and they are reasonably priced. We will be back. read more

A hidden gem is tucked away in a strip center that has seen better days, and across from Folsom Premium Outlets that also has lost its shine. Andy's Kitchen is overcoming this challenge by being the best Chinese restaurant in the area. It's also more affordable than overrated Fat's Asia Bistro on the other side of Folsom. Owner Andy, server Melanie and the talented kitchen crew are wonderful and so is the food. Came here with my mom after some shopping at the Folsom Outlets. I liked the menu options. There was plenty to choose from without being a crazy big menu. We kept it pretty simple. We each ordered a small soup (won ton and hot and sour). The servings were generous and both soups, super tasty and fresh. Note that only these soups and the egg flower soup can be ordered in small servings and only when dining in. Otherwise they have just one regular size but still decently priced (I got a won ton soup to go as well). Then there was the chow mein. We got shrimp chow mein with the thicker noodles. I judge a place by their chow mein and this was the best I've had in quite a while. Super flavorful and lots of it. Cannot recommend it enough. Service was efficient and very friendly. Plus the restaurant was very clean and well kept. We'll be back to try some of the dim sum and stir fry options. It's been a minute since I've been out to eat in Folsom. I saw the menu and was hooked. Pretty busy during lunch hour. I ordered the Salt and Pepper fish and Shanghai Shumai, which I have never had before! The fish was fluffy and crispy. Right amount of spice and flavor. I loved that they offered chili oil. The shumai was very savory, pretty much sticky rice wrapped in dumpling wrap. It was good, but not for me. Loved the fish though! I had leftovers again the next day. Service was great. We were bummed when Emperor's Garden closed. It occupied the same location before Andy's. It's close, and we enjoyed the food we received from Emperor's Garden. Fortunately, we also really enjoy Andy's! This place is a solid 4 stars for us. We'd rate it a bit higher if Yelp would allow partial stars. As with many Chinese food restaurants, Andy's is expensive. The wonton soup, chicken potstickers appetizer and chicken chow mein was $45, just for reference. We enjoy the chow mein, wonton soup, chicken potstickers, sesame chicken and peking ribs. The broccoli beef has a strong taste we don't like so much, we thought it was the ginger. We asked for no ginger the last time but it still wasn't to our liking. Another negative for us is they don't have brown rice. I generally love egg rolls, or spring rolls, but sadly I'm not a fan of Andy's. All in all we will continue coming to Andy's. Most of the food is really good, tastes fresh and is consistent. We do miss Emperor's Garden, but Andy's has come through as a solid replacement. read more

Upon entering my boyfriend and I were greeted a menu and any spot to sit. We received water right away. The ambiance was very nice. It didn't take us long to order, the waitress was sweet but did mess up our order. The server that served us our food fixed both of our plates and the food was out within minutes, it was delicious. Andy's Kitchen to the rescue... It's our second time dining in here and from what I recall, we were seated right away. We noticed they had many "Dashers" or Grubhub orders being picked up. Maybe a more common weekday convenience for many. We ordered all kinda of dishes to try. Ok so maybe not all kinds but a descent spread of food....You'll shortly notice we had 3 different proteins with the same seasoning (insert facepalm) . When my boys and hubby likes something, they will order all versions of it! Tonight's theme is Salt and Pepper! LOL $12.45 Hot and Sour Soup $12.95 Salt and Pepper Tofu $16.45 Salt and Pepper Fish $14.45 Salt and Pepper Ribs $17.45 Seafood Pan Fried Noodles $12.45 Green Beans with Spicy Sauce $16.45 Steak Cubes with Potatoes (Spicy) $9.00 Steam Rice (3) at $3.00 each The Salt and Pepper dishes were all on point. Tasted as expected. We felt like these dishes could all be eaten without rice. Great snacking / appetizer style food. I thought the Seafood Pan Fried Noodles were descent. Hot and Sour Soup was a tad too spicy for my little one who normally loves this soup at a Chinese eatery. The Steak Cubes and Potatoes and Green Beans with Spicy sauce NEEDS rice. Both are light in sauce but just a tad salty to be eaten by itself. Sadly Steam Rice was too dry for me. It's not the soft jasmine steam rice I'm used to. Well, I walked in asking for ribs to eat off the bone. The guy said I have peeking ribs and I have salt and pepper ribs. Well when I asked for ribs on the bone obviously Peking ribs are not the ones you eat off the bone they have bones, but it wasn't exactly what I described to him that I wanted and then when I gave him half cash and the rest card, he runs my card for the full amount and it looks at me and says what's the cash for? I think someone needs to work a little bit harder on delivery and ask questions when a customer gives him something they're not used to seeing. read more
