SUPPORT LOCAL - I am a loyal customer since 2003. They are professional, responsive, flexible. I've used them in two separate homes for quarterly services, annual fire ant treatments, handling wasps, etc. If any bugs appear between services, they will quickly come back for a re-treat and it is not an extra charge. They reply by phone, email and text. Also used them for my mom's apartment when her apartment's pest control was not working. Andy Howard handles scorpions, roaches, fleas, anything. Here's the deal: I reached out to Andy Howard for an estimate on routine pest control. I contacted three other firms too, all highly rated on Yelp. Andy was the slowest to get back, although it was the same day. The odd thing though was the reply was simply "what's the square footage of your home?" I responded to that. And never heard back... Strange they don't even start with a "Hello" or "How are you?" just a, how big is your space? And after I responded - nothing. I guess my home is too small to bother with. Anyway, they've never treated my house so I don't know if they're good or bad but I can tell you this, they're never going to treat my house either. PS: I went with one of the other three. read more

I'm very pleased to find this company. I found AHPC here on Yelp, on a Sunday. I messaged not thinking I'd get a response until Monday during business hours, boy was I wrong! DeShawn replied immediately! I needed help ASAP, as we have a gnarly wasp and spider problem. I wanted a company that would come within 24 hours. And AHPC showed up and took care of the problem. We signed up for the quarterly treatments (it's cheaper that way). Our serviceman Mike was great! He walked the house with me and addressed all my concerns. I ended up waiting for 40 mins before l I had to call several times to get a hold of someone and they told me tech was stuck in traffic on I35, which never happens in Austin. I called Andy Howard's Pest Control and they were able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days. Javier was my pest tech. He was 5 minutes early and was super friendly and knowledgable. Great service! I had a flea problem. I got quotes from 2 additional major pest control companies in Austin, and Andy Howard beat them both by about $75. Additionally, as part of my price, they did a 2nd follow up treatment and then guaranteed their work for 30 days after. For both my initial and follow-up appointments, I was able to get on the schedule for the very next day. Javier the bug guy who came to spray was so friendly. The flea treatment worked great! Do not do business with this company - the owner is a rude asshole who doesn't care if you are an unsatisfied customer and attempts to insult you when you question the quality of their work, which in our case was beyond poor. They were supposed to seal our entry ways to protect from rats and squirrels from entering our home after I spotted a rat in the attic. They left 8 entry points unsealed, and the few they did seal were done poorly. After voicing these concerns to the owner via phone, he was rude, unprofessional, and combative. When he was informed that the substandard work and pathetic customer service would be broadcast to potential customers, the owner defiantly stated he'd been in business 45 years and wasn't concerned about a single bad review. Well, here's one bad review that will hopefully keep you from wasting your money on shoddy work and horrendous customer service. read more

I found this company to be unprofessional when it came to resolving their own billing error, and their work on our house was sub-par. They sealed up our attic to prevent animals from entering in July and I paid with a check that cleared my bank the next day. In September I received a bill so I emailed them and stated that I had already paid; I was told someone would look into it and never heard anything until November, when someone called stating again that I needed to pay my bill. I called several times asking them to contact their bank to verify my payment, and was eventually told that they were "unable to locate specific checks" at their bank and that I had to send them a copy of my cleared check. In my experience, banks keep meticulous records and are always willing to verify transactions for account holders, so I questioned this but Andy Howard Pest Control never responded. I sent them a copy of my cleared check and I assume my account is now resolved, but I thought it was extremely unprofessional that they were unwilling to resolve this on their end, especially since the error was theirs. On top of this, we've been hearing a seemingly large animal moving around in the attic, so the money we spent on their services didn't get the job done. read more
