Even if the food served here was terrible, you'd have to give stars for nostalgia alone. If you lined up a short list of western New York institutions, Anderson's would be on it and this original location would be the iconic image that locals have emblazoned in their memories. Eating the delicious custard and other ice cream treats under the intense lighting of the signage is a rite of passage here.

Just ok... very pricey for what you get. Got a small 1 scoop Kahlua fudge in a dish, full of ice chips. For $5.03 incl tax I expect better quality ice cream

Owned by Neo Anderson of the Matrix. And Pamela Anderson, although she refuses to set foot here because (brrrrrrrr). Plus it's hard to stay thin eating Beef On Weck and Custard. Anderson's is as always one of the standout places to eat for kids and people who like fast food in the Buffalo area - there isn't really anything like Anderson's, which is one of the reasons why you have to come here and try it. Especially here - the original location on Sheridan. The Beef On Weck (always with Horseradish btw) is an excellent approximation of the famous sandwich around these parts (although the classic and my fave is at Charlie The Butcher - original location), and they have chicken buffalo chicken tender sandwiches which are absolutely delicious as well and a cuss word isn't bad at all. Oh wait, I didn't mean a cuss word. I meant the custard. Good curly fries dipped in gravy as well!!! And my mother loves this place... And-her-sons do too. Get it. Get it.

The ice cream was amazing. We also had the original beef and wick. I must say it was very good as well. A definite Buffalo favorite. The reason I gave only three stars is due to the cleanliness. Tables were not wiped off or cleared. Condiment counter was dirty and messy, and trash cans needed to be emptied. I know this is a busy place based on the quality of the ice cream I was just disappointed that the staff had not kept it up. They seemed to have adequate staff at the time, as we were serviced very quickly.

Had a great time! Wife ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and curly fries and thought it was delicious. I had loaded sweet potato fries and a hot dog that was also good. Did a good job with distancing and all staff was wearing gloves and masks. Had a nice meal outside.

Almost five bucks for this?  Kind of a rip.

(We didn't eat any real food here so no opinions from me on whether the beef on weck is authentic enough or if this is a good spot to get greased by their other offerings, etc.) Our visit here was short and sweet. After a to be expected suck meal at the Red Robin a few miles away we were hoping to salvage something decent from the area so we figured we would give the infamously infamous dessert offerings at Anderson's a go. Coming here on a Saturday evening during the summer may not have been the greatest idea as the place was packed and parking was a real challenge but eventually we figured it out and lined up. The first smart thing they have here is two different ordering areas for hot food and for desserts. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if people ordering both types of food were allowed to commingle. Black Raspberry Milkshake - Reese's Pieces Deluxe - Two Single Scoops The Reese's was certainly packed with good flavor but five bucks for that little cup? It's truly not that special of an item to warrant such a pricing premium. The milkshake was solid in terms of flavor but like so many places when it comes to making them, this place doesn't have a clue when it comes to consistency, i.e. thin and runny. The single scoops of cinnamon and some kind of chocolate were spot on. As is customary in the drivel I write the thing that kind of turns me off to Anderson's is the price to size ratio. In PA I'm accustomed to custard from The Meadows and ice cream from a local dairy store that makes their own products. Both places have been doing ice cream/custard/frozen desserts as long or longer then Anderson's while offering either comparable or more products for less cost. Obviously I'm not a local to the Buffalo area so I have zero sentimentality towards Anderson's. I certainly can understand how a place like this/a local chain like this can put the blinders on someone or skew a review based on what your heart says versus what's actually happening. But for me the stuff certainly wasn't bad but at the same time it's overpriced and I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here in the future.

We went twice in 24 hours while we were driving through and loved the ice cream. The waffle cone was fresh and yummy too. They were very serious about their Covid rules. You are not allowed to stand and eat your ice cream there. You have to be seated. Glad they don't have one of these back home or i would be in trouble. Gym time.

For lunch/dinner there's so much to choose from like burgers, Veggie burgers, beef on weck , turkey sandwiches, Mac & cheese & fries. Now on to dessert they have frozen custard that is so creamy and delicious served in a dish or on a cone flavors like vanilla, chocolate, a twist, Strawberry, banana, pumpkin, cinnamon and pistachio. They also have homemade ice cream including Chocolate Peanut Butter, Watson's Sponge Candy, White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and Coffee bean, that are very popular. All this deliciousness keeps me coming back again and again.

Great ice cream, friendly workers. I liked the two unisex bathrooms, very inclusive for trans and gnc people.

Go for the ice cream not the food. Not as good as it used to be, takeout is always cold, french fries cold, if even cooked. Disappointing.

The quality is incredible and the mix-ins are so generous, no skimping here. This round we tried the Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella and the Oreo Brownie Cake. Christian absolutely nailed the cozy, Christmasy vibes with the eggnog flavor. I already know I'll be craving this one every winter. And the Oreo Brownie Cake? Come on... the name alone is tempting, but it delivers. Think fudgy brownie swirls, big chunks of Oreos, and pure chocolatey goodness in every scoop. Basically heaven in a pint. Worth every single penny. And even better when you share it with someone who also has a sweet tooth.

At a Yelp Elite event at Brazen Brewing a couple years ago, I sampled a few of Living the Cream's…read moreflavors and took his card. I'll be honest, I've been putting off ordering a few pints because I didn't want to make the effort/time for picking it up. Thanks to a dear friend, a fellow Yelp Elite, I've FINALLY had the opportunity to try some pints, and holy smokes, Living the Cream is phenomenal! Note that in to order flavors, you'll want to follow "livingthecream_" on Instagram, "living_the_cream_" on Facebook, which showcases any new flavors being crafted and hosts the link to place your order. I tried two flavors: Oreo Brownie Smash and Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella. Oreo Brownie Smash is Oreo cookie ice cream with brownie batter swirls, Oreo cookies & cream cookie dough, and half-baked brownies and Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella is spiced eggnog ice cream infused with Jim Beam and Platter's dark orange chocolate stracciatella. Just. WOW! Absolutely no complaints, each was bursting with flavor and packed with so many mix-ins. I loved finding huge Oreo cookies & cream cookie dough chunks and just how chocolatey Oreo Brownie Smash was thanks to all the brownie bits swirled in. The Orangey Eggnog Stracciatella had the creamy, comforting flavor of eggnog with a nice nip of Jim Beam that let you know it was there but never overpowering. The crunchy bits of the dark orange chocolate stracciatella cut through all the creaminess, only elevating the ice cream overall. Opening both pints, I was super impressed how jam-packed they were - It took a bit of effort to get the lids off, the pint was on the cusp of overflowing! So I didn't order these pints so I can't give you the most accurate pricing info, but after trying a couple flavors, I'm happy to order a few pints myself without thinking too much about the cost. I'm really glad Living the Cream is out here, churning up amazing ice cream flavors for Buffalo! As a few other Yelp reviews mention, make a little room in your freezer and treat yo'self to a couple pints of some of the creamiest, mix-in full ice cream you'll ever have!
