I chose them out of the many other also delicious looking restaurants. Dulles airport has it going on, culinarily speaking. So I go up to the counter and wait, an unusually long time. I think there was only one guy working, but he finally notices me there and comes up to take my order. I order one of the pre-made options and watch him do his thing. I was surprised as the good amount of toppings put on the pie. This crust was awesome. Thin and crispy in all the right places, poofy and charred in all the other right places, and man, this thing was saucy and cheesy. Very decadent. Perfect amount of meats and veggies. &Pizza was an option I chose because of their gluten free option. It is a small place with few tables, a bar and a walk through line. I get there and they have a list of pizzas to choose from and an option to build your own but do not have a list of toppings to chose from. To see what toppings they have, you have to lean over and look thru the glass. The ladies at the counter seemed to have a difficult time understanding me when I spoke, which is not an awful thing but makes it extra difficult when you have such specific food issues. I asked if they had feta cheese but was told they only have goat cheese. I've never been a huge fan of goat cheese but that was the only option evidently. I placed my order, which was the Moonstruck pizza with gluten free crust and added bacon. Most of the pizza descriptions started out by saying classic tomato but this one did not. I wanted the garlic sauce, which is, from what I could tell, what comes on this pizza. So I ordered and she begins to put red sauce on it. I said something and then she started adding white sauce to the red sauce. I said, no, that's not what I meant. The manager then came over and took over the pizza making. They started over and put the white sauce on. Seeing as how this was on the gluten free menu and I ordered gluten free crust, I was hoping the thick white substance was actually gluten free. I get to the end and see other cheese options, which actually appeared to be feta. I inquired and she assured me it, too, was goat cheese. The total cost was over $20, which included a $4, 16.9oz bottle of water. I thought it was very much over priced for what I received. The pizza tasted amazing. I'm positive the cheese was actually mozzarella and judging by my body's reaction, the white sauce was NOT gluten free. This one is C's favorite as well...next time I'll have to remember not to share my pizza with a hungry toddler. He gets his own next time! Can't remember if this was an &pizza brand or another brand, but I thought it was okay. $10 for a glass wasn't bad, but for a glass of wine at &pizza, I was expecting to pay no more than $8...but who am I kidding, this is the airport! Located near Gate B71, this restaurant has a large bar area, tables and a line for taking your quickly assembled pizza to go. You can put it all together as you go down the line (Chipotle-style) or you can just go with one of their pre-engineered pies. Be warned, the pizza is not round. I've never understood airport restaurants that can't get food out in a timely manner. This place was very clearly understaffed - one person making pizza and one working three jobs - finishing pizzas, taking payment, and running the bar. I ordered using the online ordering system and ended up waiting well past the top end of their ETA range. While I waited I saw a number of issues: - the two employees argue over whether or not a pizza they made was gluten free. They decided it was but I would have been very nervous if that was mine and I had a gluten allergy - the cashier walk away to take care of the bar, leaving 4 pizzas to come out of the oven conveyor belt and smash into each other and fold over - the cashier announce that they no longer could take credit cards, causing a lot of strife with people who had already ordered and were waiting - ignoring of all the mobile orders until they caught up, leaving a couple of us waiting far longer than people who had just walked up well after we had ordered - purse, phones, wallet left on the food prep area, which I am guessing is a health code violation. The pizza itself was fine. Nothing amazing but not terrible for conveyor belt fast food pizza. It was not cut through, which was an annoying final touch. My suggestion: try anyplace else. read more

They place their creation in strikingly designed and shaped boxes to go but you really want to eat as much as you can, fresh. Normally you get the soggy, greasy pizza experience at places like Pizza My Heart, but not here. I was blown away. Not only is it great wood-fired-like pizza but it's at an airport. And the price point isn't outrageous. Stuck in the airport, feeling peckish, couldn't resist trying out this appealing pizza spot. I saw there selection of breakfast pizzas included an avocado toast version and went for it. I was served promptly, no line, and added an egg to my order. However this didn't really go as I'd envisioned because the pizzamaker simply cracked the egg right on the dough and baked it. I imagined more of a pizza with a lovely soft yolk egg on top. Oh well it was in there but for the avocado and other toppings they add that on uncooked (no blackened 'cado) so I get it. But a little disappointing considering the price for the add on. The avocado was spread on a little thin but the flavor was there, the spices chickpeas in combination with the bright, tangy cream chèvre was exquisite. Their pizza dough is in an oblong shape, somewhat like a flatbread, it tasted OK it was a bit thin and dry in spots but fairly enjoyable otherwise. They have a large selection of toppings and have the option to 'make your own' a la pieology/mod/blaze. I think this would have been a better choice for me. If I happen to end up in this airport again I'd definitely be willing to give them another go. read more

She then told me they weren't really open yet because they hadn't lit the pizza oven. What? Seriously. You sell pizza. I asked how long before they lit the oven. She then shrugged and said 15 minutes? I pointed out that their sign said they had been open for 15 minutes already. She shrugged replied that they hadn't (bothered) to light the oven. So I walked. I like their pizza, but they earned their zero star rating (if I could give it today) by deciding opening times are optional and capping it off with bad service. The owners have great places in DC, but this one isn't living up to their standards. It's an airport, and everyone there is on a timeline.
