I had dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant last night. The food was amazing, and all the ingredients were fresh. My favorites are the cold sesame noodles, egg rolls, and fried shrimp dipped in a sweet and spicy sauce. The most popular dish is the dumplings.

Had a fantastic dining experience at this Chinese restaurant! The dishes were flavorful, authentic. Service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcomed and valued. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Chinese cuisine!

I have been underwhelmed with the Chinese takeout choice selections near me. Decided to give this place a try, and I have to say, it is definitely a contender. We got the bean curd with 8 precious, which is essentially braised bean with shrimp, chicken, beef, pork and mixed vegetable in oyster sauce. My son got his usual chicken with broccoli and we also got shrimp rice noodle dish. What I really liked about this place is that they are not skimpy with sauce and it doesn't overpower the food itself. My only complaint is I wish the shrimp rice noodle dish is a lot hotter temperature wise. It was bit cold while the other dishes were hot. The decor inside is very quaint and maybe one day, we will eat in there. But based off this takeout order, I am a fan for sure.

Enjoyed a quiet meal here, pricing was very reasonable and staff was nice. Was not full so was easy to social distance. Food was good and fresh which is always a plus, and hot! Will return. Fun Fact: they gave me pineapple chucks when done eating which I loved!

My go to place for some good chinese food. If it was closer to my home i would go a lot more but it is definitely closer than queens and Manhattan! Ive been eating there for years. We usually always get the pineapple fried rice. This time we decided to get the Emperors pork and beef with eggplant and garlic sauce. Everything tasted great. We ordered the plain udon with soup and that is one of the only things that was disappointing! The soup was bland and udons seem undercooked. Overall always love going here for food

I've had the sesame tofu, general tsos tofu, sesame noodles, and spicy noodles. They were all pretty good with decent portion sizes, although I wouldn't order the cold sesame noodles again since there was not enough sauce so it was like eating bland noodles.

My visit was to get information about their Bridal Shower packages. As you walk in, my first impression was charming, no question this would be a perfect place for my daughters shower! Since Easter is next month, the restaurant was already decorated over the top for it! My supervisor at work has dined at The Country House during Christmas and no exaggeration, it is somewhere I could imagine you would see in a fearure film Holiday movie. Not one stone is left unturned, I saw some pictures and they were just beautiful! My appointment was with the owner, a very gracious man who obviously knows how to throw a celebration....detail, detail, detail!! You receive soup to nuts, the menu is superb! I was so impressed and excited, I wanted this so bad for my daughter, until he advised what the cost would be per person. Unfortunately for me, it was way too much over my budget, it was literally double the cost of anywhere else I have been to so far! But, I can absolutely tell you this, if I could afford it, no question my daughters shower would have been held at The Country House! I am going to absolutely dine here for an occasion one day, so I can review an actual experience next time!

The space is clean, modern, and cozy, with a calm, relaxing vibe that makes it perfect for date night, a casual dinner with friends, or even a solo meal when you just want something amazing to eat. The service here is truly next level. The staff is friendly, patient, and always attentive without hovering. They're the kind of people who actually seem happy to be there and excited to share the food with you. Our server was so helpful, answering every question with a smile and giving honest recommendations that ended up being spot-on. Drinks came out quickly, the food arrived hot and beautifully plated, and they checked in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell the team here really takes pride in what they do. Now let's talk about the food because it is absolutely incredible. Every dish at Basil Café tastes fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. The Pad Thai is one of the best I've ever had, perfectly balanced with that signature mix of sweet, salty, and tangy. The Drunken Noodles are bold and packed with just the right amount of heat, and the Thai Basil Fried Rice is addictive in the best possible way. Every bite bursts with flavor and freshness, and you can taste the care that goes into each dish. The curries are another highlight. Whether you go for the red, green, or panang, they are creamy, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Each one feels comforting and full of depth, and they pair perfectly with a side of jasmine rice. The appetizers are a must too. The crispy spring rolls are light and crunchy, the dumplings are soft and flavorful, and the soups are pure comfort in a bowl. Don't skip the drinks and dessert either. The Thai iced tea is phenomenal, that perfect balance of creamy and sweet that cools you down after a spicy dish. And if you have room left, the mango sticky rice is an absolute must. It's sweet, soft, and a perfect ending to an amazing meal. The overall vibe of Basil Café is what really seals the deal. It's relaxed yet elegant, lively without being loud, and always full of happy faces. You can come here for a quiet dinner or a fun night out and it always feels just right. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this place a true gem in Saint James. Basil Café isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience you'll want to relive again and again. Every visit feels special, the food is consistently fantastic, and the staff makes you feel like family. If you haven't been yet, make it your next stop. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

But if that isn't available, you have to find a spot in the lot and then find the inconvenient sign with a QR code at a $1/hour. The bar was busy when we arrived. We were seated at a table near the windows and were able to see the amazing sunset, as well as the ferry, which both arrived and departed several times during our meal. Our server was Destiny, who was very nice and did her job well. We had ordered some cocktails which took a very long time because there was only 1 bartender attending to the crowd. As for appetizers, we chose the mozzarella steak, the garlic and herb mussels and the cauliflower bites. All were served beautifully and tasted good as well. We also asked for bread and a loaf was served warm with olive oil and a half WELL roasted garlic bulb (most likely used for decoration) but it should have been roasted a lot less for it to be used as a spread. Dinner was the steak frites, twin lobster tails and golden glaze salmon. The steak was served with a salsa verde, the lobster was accompanied by a small gravy boat of drawn butter, a half corn cob and 4 roasted baby potatoes. The salmon, was my dish and was crispy and tasty, served over broccolini stalks and purple forbidden rice. Dessert took a while to come out and we were worried that we wouldn't get back to our car for the expiration of our time. It worked out. 2 of us ordered chocolate cake and I had the cheesecake. The portions were huge! I think what took so long was that they had to open up a new cake because 1 slice was warm and fudgy, while the other was more solid and dense. Not a problem, still delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

It's a common menu for downtown Port Jefferson RECOMMEND: twin tails, dad reports perfectly cooked. raw bar, fresh and nicely presented, calamari app beautifully done and love the spicy fried cherry touch. Love the roasted garlic clove served with the bread. Sides of asparagus and smashed goldies are consistently spot on. DO NOT RECOMMEND short ribs. It's a LOOOONG SINGLE rib. Not what locals expect. Too much gristle. This dish is MUCH better at Nantucket's or Culper. BP should take it OFF the menu. Pork chop was tough. Filet mignon was tough and bland. Branzino was bland. Culper's overdoes salt, BP is light on seasoning. That said, branzino better butterflied and cordon bleu quality at Culper whereas at BP, skin was soggy, not crispy. As a native New Englander, I test all chowders. Everywhere. BP New England was so underpopulated by diced taters or clams, there was NOTHING in it. Flavor was ok but if you know your chowders, this won't work for you. Best local New England is at Nantucket's and best Manhattan; PJ Lobster. SERVICE, good by most, better by some. Steak knives are DULL. Don't wait 5 minutes before bringing salt and pepper? All Staff must use crumb scrapers, if one does it, they all should? Staff is well dressed and professional. I was so disappointed given the reviews and the promising menu. The lobster dishes were underwhelming, especially the lobster Mac and cheese. Service was good and our waitress was very friendly. However, for the pricing, there were not enough unique items to try. I noticed on the menu there was sushi options. But we didn't order.
