Anchor Auto Outlet-- test drive agreement
    L L.

Huge waste of a 4-hour detour on my trip south. I spent an entire day racing through Saturday traffic from Philly to Raleigh just to make it to this place with plenty of time before they closed. Wasted another $15 on the express lanes near DC to try to make up for an hour lost in Baltimore and DC beltway traffic. All of this because I was fully intending to buy a car. As others have stated, they did not show damage in advertising pictures and the minute I got in the driver's seat to test drive, I knew the damage to the back seat leather was never going to be okay with me for the non-bargain price they were asking. Jordan gave a typical spiel about how someone else wanted to buy the car earlier that day, and he almost got fired because he was holding the car for me. Right. (Heard same story from the next dealer, what a crazy coincidence!) I did call before leaving to say I was interested, but no, I was not going to pay a non-refundable $200 to hold the car. Ridiculous! Glad I didn't get suckered into that for a car with damage they hid in their ad... sounds like a clever scheme. I test drove it only because I'd driven 7 straight hours to get there, without even taking a bathroom break, nor letting my kid stretch his legs. Total waste of my time. Told Jordan I wasn't interested because of the rip in the leather. He asked what they could do to interest me? I said take $1000 off, but honestly I wouldn't even buy the car unless they replaced the whole seat, which would never happen. He threw up his hands like my bargaining was outrageous, and I guess he thought I cared, because when I stood up to leave his eyes widened. Sorry, I said I wasn't interested. I don't deal with deceitful nonsense. Huge waste of my time and money. And apparently it was a waste of other people's time too, because it had been for sale two months before I got there, and last I checked, a month after I was there, it was still for sale. In the future, Anchor Auto, just be honest. It'll get you much better business, and some good karma.

We had a terrific experience with Ayman! As a salesperson of vehicles myself, I appreciated his straightforward and no pressure approach! Absolutely shop this dealers awe worthy inventory from low prices to Absolute vintage cars!

Since I drove 2/1/2 hours to see the car I didn't know a local mechanic. Before the trip Jose assured me nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I trailered the car home the first night the car alarm was triggered multiple times. I took the car to a Land Rover mechanic the next morning. He said the car should have never passed inspection. He found the rear door latch was bad, someone wedged a piece of metal in the hood latch to keep that sensor from tripping. The vehicle had been wrecked and not reported and the front sensor was damaged. So far I am out of pocket $1,300.00 in 48 hours. Beware Jose only cares about a sale and does not stand by his product. Z-Auto is also at fault for a fraudulent NC inspection.

I took it on a long trip to NY with absolutely no issues. The car was in incredibly good shape inside and out for a late model. I mean, any car can be a lemon or have problems after a sale/purchase (especially late models) but I really think TMS tries hard to source from quality local dealer trade-ins (not auctions). Nothing is guaranteed but we both got lucky with this specific car. Given the pre-owned car market the price was firm but very fair and no "extra" BS charges. The price I was quoted was the price I paid the day I came to pick it up. Overall great experience.

I have to agree with the ownership and sales being courteous, respectful and professional…read more I went looking for a specific vehicle or two, and truth be told the pictures on the internet, while of those cars, really did not indicate the damage that was on those cars. The pics looked good. The cars, in person, not so much. Of the three cars I looked at, the first smelled so badly of cigarette smoke my bride & I could not stay in it for much more than about 20 seconds before we decided we couldn't take it anymore. In addition, the scrapes in the paint, while seemingly minor, and chewed up rims indicated a car that had been abused by the previous owner. The second vehicle was stored elsewhere and a runner had to go and get it - that took awhile. When we got in to test drive it, there was trash in it on the passenger side (empty soda bottles). The ragtop would not retract and the top of the dash was in pretty sad shape. Driving it, more than appearance, I now knew why it was not moving, at least not moving to my own driveway - the clutch needed to be tightened up - it was clunking every time I pushed the clutch in on the car. The third car was just to see what it was like. I wasn't really that interested in it. The rear bumper looked like it had been detached from the body at some point where the trim came around to the wheel well, and wasn't reattached very well, and the paint job looked like a cheap maaco quick job. All of the cars we looked at could have used a good detailing before we ever looked at them, just to make them more presentable and/or desireable. None of them were clean, and the smoke smell from the first car stayed with me so long I was assuming each of the cars was smelling like smoke until my bride corrected me. No pressure to buy here, the sales staff is not on commission. Either you like what you see or you don't and make your decisions from there. Since I didn't like wahat I saw, I didn't buy, doesn't mean I won't be back to look and potentially to buy. Again, staff is indeed courteous and personable.

We purchased a vehicle 1.5 years ago from North Hills Motors and although there were some issues nothing out of the norm (except for a constant smell in the vehicle we could not place). We decided to upgrade to an suv and to our surprise during the trade i inspection we're told/shown the vehicle had been in an accident and was put back together poorly. In fact there was a leak in the trunk and the water was pooling under the mats (where spare tire is located) and growing mold (hence the smell), the side of the vehicle was not painted properly and the headlight was placed in the hole and held there by a piece of metal that has since rusted out. We believed NHM when they said they did a bumper to bumper check, showed us a clean car fax and signed off on the document that states no structural damage. Our mistake was not taking it to a mechanic for a pre purchase inspection. So please if you buy from NHM or any other used car dealer don't make the costly mistake we did...get the vehicle inspected by a third party before purchasing. We since have found out there have been others who have had similar experiences so again if my posting an update helps someone be more aware I'm happy I wrote it, learn from my mistake!

We had been looking for a SUV that was conducive for our family's needs & came across this dealer…read moreon Cargurus. We sent two inquires days apart (1 from my hubby and the 2nd from me) which we got no response. On 3/30/20 a week later my hubby (who works for NCDPS & just finished a 16 hour tour then having to drive 2 hours home with no sleep) still wanted to drive me an hour away to view the GMC Acadia so we could test drive it and even buy it that day. Now we understand that it's this pandemic that's keeping people at a distance & being overly precaution when conducting business transactions. In my case, Dale told me to keep his used pen or throw it in the trash when I'm done signing a paper to test drive (like I'm contagious) but I'm using his USED pen! Which I sanitized, placed in my purse & got my own pen out to write with. The crisis doesn't mean you stop using manners or giving great customer service. Next time ask the customer if they have their own pen to write with or offer them a NEW pen! Now after our test drive, Dale wasn't willing to get us the Carfax (when other vehicles on the lot had a Carfax & you advertise Carfax). He wasn't willing to clean the vehicle, which still had things in it left from previous owner on the floor, under the seats, dog fur all over the cargo area & the vehicle was really dirty from floor to ceiling. He doesn't offer any type of warranty, so you buy "AS IS". There's no refunds (sign posted on desk in office). So if a vehicle breaks down as you're driving it home from the lot (as I stated we did drive an hour away with a young child)? The GMC Acadia made some "ticking" noises that wasn't constant but were there. We both noticed when we drove it that it didn't accelerate until you pressed the gas petal all the way to the floor & for a V6, we both thought that was odd. The GMC had some very questionable marks & minor damages. Like a cracked taillight cover letting water in, left passenger door is missing the plastic threshold piece to hold the carpet down, driver door mirror had a nice long white scratch & the windshield is also cracked. All of which we were prepared to fix if the price was negotiable & the Carfax that we requested was available & clean. We have a toddler, so having a reliable (new or preowned) vehicle is very important to us. We just wanted to make sure the damages didn't come from an accident with another vehicle before we purchased it. But we weren't offered that & he didn't want to negotiate on the price. Which we understand that you just added it to your inventory, but come on with all the damages & how dirty it was in the inside a little negotiation would've been nice. With this pandemic around, we just wanted a clean and sanitized vehicle when we spend our hard earned money. Heck if the car was detailed & had a clean Carfax we would've purchased it right on the spot for the asking price. Instead Dale tells my hubby that it has a clean title. Which by the way isn't the same as having a clean vehicle history report. The last thing I wanted to mention is while we were putting our daughter in her car seat to leave, Dale jumped into a silver Volvo and zoomed right passed us in the parking lot...no "thanks for stopping by" (especially during this crisis) or "hope to see you soon", nope nothing of the kind. To me, Dale seems to be a very unorthodox dealer with a nonchalant attitude. Just very uncouth if you ask me. His Cargurus response proved me right! We NEVER spoke on the phone & pics don't lie & he changed his response twice. With that being said we'll be using another dealership to make our next vehicle purchase & WE DO NOT recommend Dale or his lot to anyone! *After posting HONEST reviews about my experience with Dale, my email address was sent (in retaliation) to dealers nation wide for random vehicles.
