No hard sales, excellent pricing, I cannot be more pleased. That being said, I would like to specifically point out, the General Manager, Leo Bonilla. As I run my own company, I immediately recognized why he is in charge. You are only as good as the people that you work with, Leo went above and beyond, to ensure I will be a customer for life. I recommend to anyone reading this, before you shop anywhere else for your next car, this place will be the best stop you could make. I appreciate all you fine folks at Echo Park, thank you Mr Bonilla! Keep up the good work

The car smells like a neglected gas station bathroom, even though I ozoned it, replaced the cabin filter, and bought an odor neutralizer. The engine had spray gunk all over it, there was clumped goop in the door pockets, stained seats. and sticky residue on the windows and tires. They didn't give me a physical key and it cost me $300 for a locksmith visit. The trunk works when it feels like it, and the glove box lighting module is shot -- or something worse. They immediately sold my contact info, and I've already been hit with a predatory "insurance replacement" scam. And weeks later, they still haven't processed my paperwork with the DMV so I can transfer my plate from my other car.

I've waited a few months to post this review - I'll explain why…read more Our 20 year old daughter wanted to buy her own car, paid for by her, all cash. She had her eye on used Subaru models. We spotted a 2004 Subaru Forester at West Raleigh Auto, called and drove down the same afternoon. Really liked the car, the lot owner, Patrick, was extremely friendly and professional. We planned to come back the next day to get dad's opinion and most likely buy the car. Came back following morning, test drove a second time, made an offer on car (considering how much daughter had saved for a car), Patrick happily accepted and she bought the car. We noticed a few issues with car - rear view mirror was very discolored (with age), passenger window motor broken, car needed new wiper blades and car was not clean (it had literally only been on lot 1 day when we bought it). Patrick gave us an IOU for complete detail, replace all wiper blades, new window motor and new rear view mirror. No questions asked. We took the car home and I drove it back down to Patrick following Wednesday for the detail and repairs to be made - it took the mobile detail guy a few hours to clean, Patrick lent me a car from his lot and I just drove down to Crabtree Mall and killed the time. Very generous to lend me a car! ONLY issue we have is the following week, our daughter was running a few quick errands, locally here in WF. After her third stop in about 1/2 hour, she came out of Dollar Tree and the car would NOT start. She freaked out, called us panicking and said she turned key over and it wouldn't start. Tried four tries until it started for her. OMG. Car was only two weeks old to us and wouldn't start! What?! I texted Patrick immediately, he said bring it in on Monday, I'll have my mechanic look at it. Monday, I drove car down to Patrick, he loaned me a car again and his mechanic tried over and over to replicate stalling. He could not get it to stall... Long story short - we've owned car since first week of October. The car has stalled on me once (again after running a few quick in and out errands) and stalled on daughter on December 16. Very frustrating. Car will catch after a few tries but it undermines your confidence in the car. Oh, and there seems to be an issue with the passenger window again - we had window down, car stalled, window wouldn't go back up. After a few tries, we got car started again and window back up but daughter refuses to let anyone put passenger window down now. Saddens us that she saved up hard-earned money and there are still issues with the car but what can you do? Update 1/8/18: rear view mirror that Patrick installed completely broken and fogged over. Car stalled again twice today before finally starting. Final thoughts: Would I buy from Patrick again? Maybe. Would I get the car checked out independently before I bought it? Definitely. Is he a stand-up guy? Yes, he did try to replicate issue and just couldn't get it to happen. He stood by his word on all fixes and the complete detail (guy did a bang up job cleaning her car). Hope this review helps future used car buyers!

It was clean and Greg was very helpful and responsive during the purchase process. I discovered the cd player didn't work and he had a new, upgraded radio installed complete with bluetooth. He also arranged for a locksmith to come and make 2 new keys for me at cost (which would have cost more than $300-400 at the dealership). So... why am I writing a review a year and a half after the purchase of this vehicle? Well...you know teenagers... :( The good news is that my daughter is fine and no other vehicle or property was involved.... but she hydroplaned, crossed the yellow line and went off the road and into a grassy gully. Our better angels were watching over her that day and thank God nobody else was in the car and nobody was seriously injured. The car, on the other hand, was not worth repairing...... so ..... I am in the market for another used car ... and I am going to be heading back to West Raleigh Auto Sales to see what they have in stock!! I guess that is the whole point of providing a good customer experience, right? Make them want to come back for more and tell their friends.

Update: Owner resolved the issue. Please read entire review…read more 2 weeks later TMPS alert remains off. So happy Sam the owner voluntarily fixed the problem even if if took over 1/2 day of my time.Based on my overall experience, I would encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Cary Auto Sales to have a thorough independent inspection and diagnostic scan completed BEFORE paying for the vehicle. I purchased a 2014 Toyota Avalon Limited from Cary Auto Sales and paid cash for the vehicle in full. Unfortunately, the same day I took the vehicle home, the tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning began flashing and malfunctioning. Sunday, I had the vehicle checked by a mechanic. I was told the problem was a defective TPMS sensor in the right-rear tire. What also concerned me was that the vehicle's diagnostic history showed that the TPMS system had previously been reset. I have no way of knowing who performed the reset or why. My mechanic questioned whether the system may have been reset before the sale, but I cannot independently confirm that, and I am not accusing Cary Auto Sales or anyone else of intentionally doing so. I simply found the circumstances concerning given that the TPMS problem appeared immediately after my purchase. I contacted Cary Auto Sales on Monday, only two days after purchasing the vehicle, and spoke with Peter, the gentleman who sold me the car. I explained the problem and attempted to give the dealership an opportunity to correct it. Peter declined to provide any service or replace the sensor. Fortunately, the owner, Sam, contacted me personally later Monday evening after seeing my review. Sam apologized that Peter had not offered to address the problem and told me I could bring the vehicle back and that he would have it looked at. I appreciate Sam taking the time to contact me and attempting to resolve the situation and told by Sam the owner it take about 1 hour. Cary Auto Sales brought to a mechanic initially stated there was no defective sensor, but Sam told them to replace it anyway on the rear passenger back tire. Mechanic was truly confused or very incompetent. After the tire repair, the TPMS warning remained illuminated. The mechanic took the vehicle for a test drive and returned stating this car had a special problem and now there was TPMS issue with the front driver's-side TPMS sensor would need to be replaced. Luis and the mechanic continued working on the vehicle. By approximately 1:20 PM, several hours had passed. The mechanic took the vehicle for another drive, and I was then told that the sensor appeared to be functioning intermittently. The mechanic obtained a diagnostic/code-reading device, connected it to the vehicle and performed additional testing. Afterward, I was told that the TPMS system was now functioning and that the front driver's-side sensor no longer needed to be replaced. I appreciate that Sam ultimately made an effort to address the problem, and I appreciate the tire repair being provided at no charge. However, I remain concerned because the vehicle had a history of TPMS resets, the warning appeared immediately after purchase, and the diagnosis changed several times before the system was ultimately declared fixed without replacing the sensor. Overall, my experience with Cary Auto Sales has been mixed. I was very disappointed that Peter initially refused to help when I reported a problem only two days after purchasing the vehicle. I do give owner Sam credit for contacting me, apologizing and ultimately making an effort to resolve the issue. However, the repair experience itself was lengthy, confusing and raised additional concerns for me. A must read...... I could write a 16 page positive review…read moreabout the salesman we had the pleasure of working with, but I'll keep it short. Purchasing a new car isnt fun, but working with Thurmond was a smooth, and zero stress environment. My young adult daughter had her sights on one specific car after mnths of searching and she was ready to purchase that one, and ONLY that one and the car had not even got the lot yet. I wasn't giving her money for it. She had to afford it all by herself. I told her Id do the haggling for her and I was not looking forward to that feeling if worked a double in a rock quarry dealing with a car salesman. End result, we drove off the lot with THE car she wanted, papers signed and we felt great! She had just signed away thousands of dollars, years of payments in her name to this dealership and we felt we'd made a great decision to purchase from here. Capital Mazda may not know how big of a gold mine they have in this employee. I hope they invest in Thurmond because dealerships have bad reputations due to salesmen that are a dime a dozen. Thurmond had to put up with hours of my multiple questions for a solid 5 days and by the time we left the dealership we felt OUR time and money was well spent here and ready to buy my own car from them. I never had trouble reaching Thurmond. He was reliable, good energy, he was focused on us, I never felt pressured or rushed and he did a good job leading us to closure. I can see it when I look back now. The deal was fair, and really important--Thurmond actually likes his job so I have to compliment his management team. Great salespeople are a reflection of the culture and leadership they have and it was evident management respects and works in tandem with their people. Johnathon especially. There was a manager who seemed a bit scary/gruff at first, but was actually kind & professional so in the end the dealership was well rounded IMO. Ask for Thurmond. He is a breath of fresh air in today's environment. We are purchasing our next car thru Capital Mazda......unless Thurmond switches job sites.

JA insurance has terrible customer service who don't listen and become rude if you challenge their reply.
