My wife and I went to this dealership 3/7/25 to test drive an RDX to see if it was a good fit for our next purchase. Did a test drive and one really caught our eye. As the dealership was approaching closing time, we exchanged info with the sales rep and made a plan to come back Saturday 3/8/25 to bring my wife's trade-in, and to start the sales process. We were legit buyers, and prepared to buy. My wife text the sales rep to state the time we would arrive, to get a response that he wanted to make us aware that another person had scheduled a test drive. I immediately called the sales rep back, stating that his text was very disturbing, knowing that we were coming back to make the purchase. I told him we were getting in the car now and heading his way to make the purchase. He stated "ok, I have the car set aside for you." When we arrived and asked for him, he came over and stated that the other interested person did arrive and was actually test driving the car in that moment. I was furious. I told him "well we are here and we are prepared to buy it". He explains that in order to hold a car, that a deposit is required. I said, "fine, how much is it". He says $500. I said fine I will give you $500 right now, get the car back here and let's proceed with the deal. He states to please give him 20 minutes. I assume he is back talking to management on our behalf, only to see the car we were interested in, arrive back in the lot from the test drive, and he was over in a set of chairs next to ours negotiating a deal with this buyer. I was livid. I asked another rep to please ask the General Manager to come out and speak to us, as I could not believe what I was seeing happening in front of us. The General Manager of Sales comes over, I asked to step outside so we could discuss. Asked him if he was aware of this situation and he says he was. Proceeds to try to tell me that it is a first come first serve situation and that other person was already in the middle of the test drive and he had to let that play out to see if they wanted to purchase the car first. I explained to him that the sales rep knew we were on our way, and told me he set the car aside for me. Sales Mgr says "I'm sorry, he should have not said that". Granted, at this point I have now been at the dealer about 40 minutes watching the other person ultimately buying the car we were there to purchase. The sales mgr says, well you can sit and wait to see how it plays out or that he understands if we have a bad taste in our mouth now and want to leave. I looked at my wife and said "let's go". As a person myself in the service industry, this was as unethical of a situation that I have ever seen or had happen to me. The Sales Mgr was there the night before, knew we were buying, even said good nite see you tomorrow. He knew we were legit buyers. He still had an opportunity while we were outside, knowing that this was a really messed up situation to say something like "you know what, I will do whatever it takes to make this right and earn your business, let's go back inside and see what we can do", but he didn't. He let us walk. I'll say this....Leith Acura will never get my business in the future and word of mouth is a powerful thing. I'm not one to generally leave negative reviews, but this situation was so absurd, I feel compelled to share my experience. Buyer beware. read more
