We only take out cars to The Pitt Stop. They are honest and also excellent at fixing whatever is wrong with our vehicle's. Most recently my low tire light went on. I was sure that it was a front tire. They were very busy that day but took time out to check my problem. Turns out all my tires were low. They inflated them and then let me know that there was no charge. A few weeks ago my husband's Jeep had a light on and the windows would not go up or down. We were told by a friend that we would have to replace an electrical box however when Tim looked at the car he said no it was just a couple of wires that needed replacement . He saved us tons of money again! I could go on and on about the 15 years that we have been customers. Service was decent. Turnaround was OK. My big issue was when I got the oil change, the employee gave me a rebate for the oil change. I filled it out, mailed it in, and got a check. The check was made out to the business. When I took it in, the employee told me that they use that as an incentive to get customers to return. If I fill out a rebate, I expect the money. It's only slightly unethical to give a customer a rebate knowing that you're going to get the money, and tell the customer that it's an incentive to get you to purchase from them again. I discovered this place by way of Bruegger's Bagels. I dropped off my car for an oil change. That was 9 years ago. For years, Tim serviced my car in just enough time for me to hop across the street for a bagel, cuppa coffee and a quick perusal of The Indy. Then bam! I'm done. Pricing is reasonable and competitive with a lot of other spots like Jiffy Lube. What is different is the service. Tim is just a really nice guy. If your car needs something, he'll tell you. If you need a second opinion on an expensive repair (my brother got an astronomical quote for a repair in Durham), Tim will usually come in much, much cheaper. He can also help you get to the bottom of what is wrong with your car and let you know how long you're safe to wait. Good solid repairs. He does not do alignments, but most everything else they can do and will do so very graciously. read more

I stopped in to get an oil change and to have them check out what I was pretty sure to be a need for brake pads on the front driver side of my vehicle. Tim did the oil change and said he checked out the brake situation. Come to find out ....it was just something rubbing near the tire. Any other place could have hit me over the head for AT LEAST new brake pads. His honesty was greatly appreciated especially in my current "tight budget " situation. I needed an oil change and needed it bad...I am a realtor so I drive a lot and don't have much free time. I pulled into the place and Johnny the guy working there was extremely pleasant and told me the options I could choose from. I just got the standard oil change and wasn't tried to be up sold anything. I left my keys, went across the street, ate lunch in 10 mins, and by the time I was back my car was sitting, finished, and waiting for me to move on. They put a water pump/timing belt on my van a few years ago and only 45,000 miles ago. Its a fwd, v6, not a lot of fun to replace. The pump started leaking, I called them and Tim said he would give me a small break on the price. I decided to just do it myself (I was a mechanic for many years, then ran a shop,but this was many years ago). Turns out the pump was leaking because one of the bolts holding on the water pump was crossthreaded and forced in. I had to remove it then have it towed to have the block tapped. Just stay away from this place, I have never seen a "professional" shop do this to anyone. read more

I used to go to pit stop in Cary to have some maintenance services and tires changes. there was a worker there who was very nice and friendly. them he quit and I did not go back for a few months. But, a got another car and I decided to go back to have a oil change. They changed my car oil, and checked tires and everything. they told me that one of the tires has some problem. they could not to put air. the result I got a light on. them they told me that the e brake was not working either. they send me to another place their boss fix car. he will fix the E brake and the light they messes up. I came home sad and I decided to check .the e brake was working good. the tire had not issue and I fixed the light. please be carful if you go this place they are going to messed up your car. by the way my car is a BMW.
