I recently bought a BMW from Scott. The buying experience went smooth. We traded in our Dodge and got a great deal on the trade in. After having driven the BMW a distance I ran into some overheating problems, normal stuff considering the miles on the BMW when I purchased it. I reached out to Scott and informed him there was an issue. He had me take it to have a diagnostic done, afterwards the shop asked for a ridiculous amount to fix it so Scott and I were able to come to a extremely reasonable solution. Horrible rip off joint. I only give it one star because there are no lower levels. I bought an Audi there and drove it home. The salesman said it was wonderful and ran great plus they had just put a a new battery in it -that should have swiveled my head but I let that go. Car worked good for a couple days - the the problems started. First the "new" battery died. Called Cary Imports and sales guy said that the store said the battery was good. Translation: deal with it - not my problem. Well, a car needs a battery to run so I recharged it - die again and recharged again - died. I decided to get and Audi battery and get everything set right - battery and installation $470. Audi dealership said "new battery" didn't really look new/??? Ok - strike one. Then the engine light comes on and I took it to my mechanic. He found a couple of things plus it was in desperate need of a tune up - I felt it was not a new car so I'll do this and eat this one - sort of - strike two. Then the head lights went out and I said enough! Contacted Cary Imports and went back and forth with them. The comments from the owner were incredulous! When I complained that I has spent close to $1000 on a car that I owned less than a month and, by the way, paid cash for, his response was (exact quote in email): "I am sorry that you bought a car outside of your budget but unfortunately that is not my responsibility to tell you what you can or cannot afford. The car was in perfect operation when it left my dealership and anything beyond that time period is not up to me to repair. " Strike Three and you are out! Talked with Father/Son on vehicle letting them know I wanted the vehicle! Made arrangement with financing bank to get loan and was to make the trip to dealership to make a purchase! I'm from Alabama so preparations was made for the trip! Spoke to salesperson for a week so I was in constant contact! I went to Atlanta which was almost half of the trip on Saturday and found today and that they were closed on the weekend? Salesperson did not inform me of this very, very important fact so I wasted a week and a trip "FOR NOTHING"! I purchased a vehicle from Cary Imports located at 1803 NW Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27513. I was informed at the time of purchase that the vehicle had a remaining factory warranty. After purchasing the vehicle, it was determined that the warranty was only valid in Canada. Had this information been presented to me during the negotiation process it would have affected the agreed upon price. The integrity and ethical sales practices demonstrated by Cary Imports during my purchasing experience, resulted in the filing a complaint with the North Carolina Better Business Bureau and the State of North Carolina Department of Justice, Office for Consumer Protection. I wish I could rate this place less then one star. Absolutely awful. Traded in my truck for what they said was a "Great Truck" and I've had nothing but problems with it since owning it. They claim they have a mechanic there to inspect trucks before they go off lot but within the first week I put 400$ into the front end and another 500$ on a oil leak. And there is still remaining problems left. Save your time and money and go else where. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to shop at such a place. read more

Test drove a 2008 Land Rover lr3. Put the keys in the ignition and had multiple faults including a system failure and ride heigh adjustment failure. Ok so obviously I was not interested anymore but thought I would test drive it anyway. Drove it for 15 minutes and engine was smoking. Popped the hood and oil was spewing from the block. These guys are amazing. I had oil filter gasket leak in my BMW. Called few places and no one was giving the right answer and dealer was asking $$$$$. Called these guys and they told me on the phone they know exactly what the issue is and it is very common issue in my make and model. This is called honesty and they fixed it in no time. Buyer beware, buy at your own risk. I bought a 05 chevy tahoe from these guys. Drove it off the lot, all in all ok. Check engine light came on 3 days later. They do the bare minimum (top off fluids to look like its been serviced). I would of had better luck buying it from Craigslist. read more

My wife and I drove an hour and a half to look at the van just to find him sending another couple on a test drive in that very vehicle he knew we were coming to purchase. Found a ton of hidden issues (brakes, power steering, missing bolts and bushings, etc.) Called Adam (owner) and he showed interest in helping with cost. Bought a truck from these guys. After 100 miles of driving the truck, it had broke down in the middle of the road. I had it towed to the ford dealer (since cary imports is 1.5 hrs away) and had to pay for Exhaust Back Pressure sensor replacement. Once fixed, the truck broke again the next day, had it towed and had to replace the fuel tank pick up/sender assembly (broken). Once fixed the truck stalled in the road and had to get it towed AGAIN! High pressure fuel pump(hpfp) went out causing damage to my entire fuel system. All 8 Injectors, lines, low pressure fuel pump, filters, and filter housings had to be replaced. Ford told me the cause of why the trucks HPFP went out was because the truck was tuned "HOT" with a program which I did not know when I bought it from cary imports because the programmer equipment did not come in the truck and was missing. I couldn't delete the program because the truck wouldn't run with out the program since the emission systems were removed. I had to buy a $600 + programmer to reprogram it to factory settings with out the egr and dpf to prevent further damage. All cary imports offered was that they would take a look at it if i towed it to them when it happened(which i couldn't do because i live 1.5hrs away). They did not even help me with the missing programmer. Also, back when i purchased it, they installed a power steering gear in the truck because it was leaking. They put the cheapest piece of junk in there. Ford couldn't even test drive the truck because it wore out so fast and was extremely loose. When i took it to cary imports to confront them about fords recommendation on the steering gear box, they quoted me around $150 to replace a tie rod which helped nothing. I replaced the power steering gear myself with a high quality one that was 100 % better (and still is). Almost a year later (about 500miles on the truck since i bought it)and over $15,000 of repairs, the truck is actually running properly. I wish I could list all the other issues but these were the main ones. I would never trust these guys to sell me a truck/ a car/ or a free dog. read more

Worst car we have ever purchased! My wife and I bought a 2011 X5 50i in the summer of 2017 with approximately 80K miles. The vehicle looked nice, the staff was nice enough, and we were able to incorporate a few fender paint touch ups in the negotiated price. That is where the good stops. A month after we had the vehicle, several of the coil packs went bad, the idrive system started to indicate an increased battery discharge when the vehicle was parked, the starter began to grind, and the suspension began to knock and feel a bit wobbly. By month 2, I noticed it was burning much more oil than what meets the specifications. By month 5 it sat broken down in the garage, and by month 6, it needed a new suspension tower, new end links, it required 2 new water pumps, the radiator was cracked and needed to be replaced and the MAF sensor was failing. Today, it has a cracked thermostat, needs new spark plugs and several new o2 sensors. In 18 months we have put 12,000 miles on this vehicle and paid over $6,000 in repair costs just to get it "good enough" to trade in for a loss of about $15,000. I find it absolutely impossible that all of these issues were unknown to Cary Imports when we bought this vehicle. Before any type of rebuttal is made - yes, we were offered some sort of extended warranty for an additional cost, but how low quality are your vehicles, when they require 1/3 of the cost of the purchase price just to be able to be inspected and/or traded in 12-18 months later? I will never purchase from Cary Imports again. read more
