11. Doner Chicken Pesto 12" personal pizza

This place is my new favorite place! I went here with some friends on a Saturday night. Plenty of seating for lots of good sized parties, beautiful decor and clean space. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is extremely delicious and authentic. The Turkish delights with saffron and rose were the best I have ever had. If you want something delicious In a great spot with nice walking trails close by then try this one out.

We decided to try something new tonight and decided on Anatolia. It was a busy Friday night but we were seated pretty quickly. Restaurant is decorated with exotic ceiling lights that give the place a bit more upscale. In the front they have a small baked goods counter where you can get sweet treats to-go. We got the Ezme salad and a combo entree platter to share. Our food took a while to come out since they are made fresh to order. The ezme salad consists of tomato and cucumber that is pretty thick in consistency served with 4 small pieces of fluffy pita. Pretty salty on first bite but eating it with the pita was a bit better. I was not a fan of this dish. The combo platter came with a variety of different proteins with rice, Greek salad, whole tomato and some pieces pita. Meats were all very tender and juicy. Yum! Wish they served a little bit more rice with the platter.

Falafel and Hummus

I had lunch recently at Anatolia Turkish & Mediterranean Cuisine in Albuquerque's Journal Center area, and it's a welcome addition--especially for a late afternoon business lunch when you want something a little different. Service was good, the atmosphere was friendly, and the food felt both familiar and thoughtfully prepared. If you're a falafel and hummus fan, start there. The appetizer had an "uptown" presentation but still tasted like it was made with heart--always a good combination. I ordered the lamb gyro and was surprised by the bread. I expected a traditional pita, but instead it came on a larger, dinner-roll-style bread. Not what I anticipated--but honestly, the bread was outstanding. Light, fresh, and memorable--on par with some of the best I've had since a trip to Paris a couple of years ago. (Pro tip: if you want a more traditional feel, ask for the gluten-free pita option.) And the pizza... I probably should have led with that. The Margherita Napoli would absolutely make pizza lovers smile. Once again, it comes back to the bread--it really shines here. I'll definitely be back to Anatolia and am already looking forward to the next visit.

Pretty good Greek food, authentic taste and overall good service. The atmosphere is semi casual. We enjoyed our food, but would not drive out of our way to eat here again. Not because of anything they did wrong. But because it's so far away from where we live.

I've been trying to go easy on the five-star reviews, but Anatolia made it impossible for me. I'd been unwilling to visit their place in Sawmill (it's just too chaotic for me in that food hall) but kept hearing good things about the place in a foodie group on FB. I started following Anatolia's page and got serious about coming to the new spot in the Journal Center - finally making it down here with my wife for a late lunch a month and a half after they opened. We found a nice room (tasteful redecoration of the old Torinos restaurant) that made for a quiet, calm place to enjoy a lunchtime conversation. Kind and gracious attention from the staffers (thanks especially to Mehmet for his welcoming conversation) put us in a relaxed mood for our late lunch. And our food was fantastic! What got me to pester my wife into joining me for lunch was seeing that Anatolia now has lahmacun (think a Turkish pizza with spices, herbs, and meat on top, eaten with veggies and a spray of lemon). I got that (and it was a treat! Not too salty, lots of meat and spice, great yeast smell and a perfect char and tear; the lemon and veggies added freshness to the bite) and my wife got a lamb shish kebab - oh wow, was that some of the best lamb I've had (so tender, so deliciously marinated, so toothsome - perfectly cooked with char on the outside and pink, juicy perfection within), but every bit of her plate was quite yummy (we particularly liked the roasted pepper that was somehow more flavorfully prepared than what we usually find on plates at places with Middle Eastern food). My wife loved the preparation of the rice and salad, and said it was one of the best meals she's had lately - and we just got back from vacation last week! I asked and found that the only item not made in house is the french fries - well, that sure came through. On the way out, we made the mistake of pausing at the cases of baklava and Turkish delights - hoo, I'm glad we got some (so subtly delicious! it's funny how a small piece of a perfect dessert can satisfy better than a big serving of something ordinary) but I probably shouldn't have gotten even more to go! Macht nichts - we'll be back!

Beautiful restaurant filled with passion for their cuisine. Our family really enjoyed our dinner and will continue to visit on a regular basis.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated. We walked in and there was only on other couple in the restaurant. It smelled delicious and I was super excited to try the food. We ordered the beef shish, chicken doner, but was most excited to try the lahmacun. We got our drinks, put in out order, the waiter waa very friendly, but was the last we saw of him till our food came out. 2 different couples came in and he refilled rhere drinks, asked how they were doing, was very attentive to the other couples. We got our doner and shish and he walked away, me thinking he was going back to get the lahmacun, but no. I waited about 10 mins and then had to flag him down to ask about the pizza. He nevee placed the order, mind you that was the whole reason we came in and was expressed to him when ordered. Finally came out after about 20 mins. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Very flavorful, chicken juicy, steak was fork tender and melted in your mouth, pita bread was outstanding. Was a bit disappointed when asked if I could purchase a side of garlic sauce and was told no because they needed it for the dishes, mind you there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant with us. When wanting to leave and get boxes for our food I juat about had to go into the kitchen to get our waiter for boxes and check. All and all we were there for almost 2 hours. I recommend eating in the actual restaurant if you have a free afternoon or evening otherwise come pick up the food. For the flavor it's worth the drive, and we live in Rio Rancho! 5 stars for food quality and flavor 1 for service.

For the record, I'm talking about a true handheld breakfast burrito--not one served on a plate and smothered in red, green, or Christmas chile. Hello Deli in Albuquerque's Journal Center is one of the homegrown New Mexico spots I happily recommend when the craving for a handheld breakfast burrito hits. My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the Pronto is reliably delicious and remains my go-to handheld breakfast burrito in Albuquerque.

This restaurant has maintained a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality. This morning we met our kids for breakfast here as it was closest to a central location for all. We arrived as they were opening their doors, and we followed the early queue in, were rapidly seated. Drinks were served quickly and refilled often. My wife and I split an Ol' Traditional with hash browns, bacon and pancakes for the bread. Our son had the same except with sausage and white toast. Our daughter had the Huevos Rancheros with papitas and Christmas chile. One thing that sets Hello Deli apart is their egg preparation. Most restaurants in NM fix over easy eggs with the whites fully cooked. Hello Deli follows what we find in most other places. The whites are just a bit runny. If you don't like that, be sure to order over medium. The hash browns weren't very brown, but were tasty. Next time I need to remember to order them crispy. The bacon was ok and the pancakes were very tasty but a bit doughy. Maybe being as early as we were, the griddle hadn't fully heated to the proper temperature. I know we've had better in the past. Our daughter raved about the red Chile sauce. Overall the food was good and the service was fantastic.

Full of flavor and red and green ch8le sauce had a slight kick. I chose the Breakfast Enchiladas asked about types of beef available and Ground Beef & shredded was available. Sold. Shredded please! I asked for Christmas Mixed, received regular Christmas. It was not worth it today to ask for more Chile to make it mixed. The flavor was very nice. Tender & succulent Shredded beef. Dan ordered, Ultimate Skillet w tortilla and an onion rings app. The onion is rings were typical, get at any bar onion rings... not bad, just not real remarkable. The skillet was good, but with the rings, too much grease. The Homefries were good, just greasy. - and if you have read my posts before, we often pick our restaurants based on oil used, and how greasy it is... as Dan's tummy is touchy to it. The type of oil was fine, the quality was too much. I personally think had he not ordered the onion rings ... it would of been fine.. but not my choice ;). The tables are in a navigable way to get to tables. The walls have tons of signs & photos. It looked reasonably clean and well kept. Worth checking out if you need a new place to dine.

I've been going here for almost 40 years - not sure what it's going to take to get it through my…read morehead that Tully's just isn't to my taste. Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

I live in Rio Rancho and Vic's is about 25 minutes away, so if I'm in the area I drive by and see what the lines are like, usually out the door. Today there was no line at all and several empty tables so we decided to go for it. Got right in and were seated right away. I ordered the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and biscuits. My wife ordered the Denver omelette, hash browns and biscuits. The food came out quickly. The portions are huuuge, which didn't surprise me having read the reviews. The chicken fried steak was crispy and delicious, seems homemade unlike most diners that fry up frozen premade steaks. I don't know that it is, but feels that way. Eggs and hash browns were good. Sorry to say the biscuits were quite dry, they kind of sucked the moisture right out of your mouth, even after you slathered them in butter. My wife's Denver omelette was good, not exceptional. She liked the chunky bell peppers and ham. She said the same thing about the biscuits. Service was good, we didn't sit long before the waitress arrived, the food came quick, and they got our check quickly as well. My waitress watched our table and kept my coffee warm. The atmosphere is as you would expect of a dinner. Simple, but clean. I recommend it to anyone who loves diners and has a healthy appetite. Expect a wait on most occasions, and parking can be tough.
