Chilaquiles
Narek M.

Came for Mother's Day brunch with the family and left impressed. The coffee by Civil Coffee is fantastic and the pan dulce is delicious. The inside is very unassuming much like many buildings you find in Latin American countries. The inside is really cute and makes you feel like you're not in LA. (Sometimes a plus ). The real star of the show for me was the service and the asada chilaquiles I ordered. The salsa verde is spicy and delicious! Definitely would recommend this spot, reservations encouraged.

Aguachile Verde

We came to try out Amor A Mi, and let me start by saying I probably ordered the wrong item, I had the aguachiles and it came with 3 rolled up potato tacos and to be honest the aguachiles were flavorless as well goes with the potato tacos nothing special about them. My buddy order the ceviche and it was flavorless as well. My friends daughters had the French toast but they didn't like it they all left more than half of their plate of the French toast, at that they didn't offer any kind of syrup. Overall the place is nice and clean and I'll probably come back but I will definitely order something else as for the seafood it's a no go for me.

What a cozy and delicious meal! Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Everything was top tier from the latte to the french toast to the chilaquiles! Highly recommend both but if you're feeling something sweet go for the french toast and if you want savory go for the chilaquiles. The were perfectly crispy! Would absolutely recommend this place for a date, for a brunch with the girlies, you name it! There is a bar, some tables inside and two tables outside. Pro tip: this place gets hella busy but they do reservations - yay! So make sure to get one for the weekend! Parking was easy as I parked in one of the neighborhood streets nearby. It was two hour parking.

This was a great experience for comfort mexican food with modern twist! Service was excellent, kind friendly staff, and beautiful modern yet comfortable warm ambiance. Tacos: Huitlacoche - the kernels were good but mixed in with sweet corn was too sweet. I tasted more sweet corn than mushroom or huitlacoche, beans were good! Not spicy, could use a spicy salsa Chicharrón - excellent Shrimp - fresh, but too much cream sauce! The taco fell apart, more fresh condiments like cilantro and onions would have been nice vs so much sauce Barbacoa - it was good, but needed lemon, cilantro and onions! Birria especially goat or lamb is best served with fresh squeezed lemon and fresh condiments on the side for the palette's desire. Salsas and chips - fresh chips! Green salsa was good, red salsa had a flavor we couldn't pinpoint, canned chipotle maybe? Not our favorite. Tlayuda - not traditional, but the crunchy cheese layer was fun! We enjoyed it and would order one more for the table next time. Excellent and fresh Homemade Flour tortilla - yum! Homemade Corn Tortilla - a little dry, not too flavorful. Hopes for the future: I wish there could be a green salad, fish option, or other unique veggie sides like nopales, verdolagas, or mushrooms en chile that Mexican cuisine has to offer! Either way looking forward to trying lunch menu

Once again I saw this restaurant on my socials and I definitely had to stop in and try it for myself. I was not disappointed whatsoever. I was greeted with smile and a warm welcome. Very refreshing these days. The restaurant is very clean from the dining room to the restrooms.. The staff was so kind ,accommodating and very attentive. The variety of food is nice. The service was quick. The food was served at the right temperature. Everything ordered tasted fresh and delicious. I had a great experience overall. The pricing and the portions are reasonable. I will definitely come back again.

Mexican matcha (oat milk and palo santo) Light taste and refreshing Chilaquiles with green sauce delicious. We set outside. Even with the cars driving by it was very pleasant and relaxing. Friendly and relaxed service. No rush.

I was in Burbank and wanted some breakfast that wasn't right next to the mall, this was the perfect spot! It was pretty busy so without a reservation we waited about 25 mins for a table of 2. I got the breakfast sandwich without chimichurri and it was absolutely delicious! It had thick cut bacon and lots of avocado. I also got a Mexican coke and it was just the perfect meal. There's a good amount of seating inside but the place isn't huge, very cute and cozy. There's also two tables out on their patio for dining as well, making it dog friendly!

I've been wanting to try this place out ever since it opened. I'm Mexican and I'm always searching for restaurants that have authentic flavors. As soon as I saw huitlacoche tacos on their menu, I knew I had to go. The inside was bigger than I expected with quite a few tables and plenty of bar seating. It would be a great place for a date or to have a conversation with friends. I love it when restaurants aren't deafening loud. I ordered the chips and salsa which was a generous serving and included both green and red salsas, a jamaica, a huitlacoche taco and their tlayuda norteña (skirt steak with veggies). Loved the salsa, especially the spicier green one but both lacked salt. The huitlacoche taco was tasty. The skirt steak was okay. The meat wasn't very tender, the entire plate also lacked salt. Also, it was served without a knife to help cut into the whole thing. I wouldn't order this again. Overall, I enjoyed my food and my time here and I'll probably be back. I'd love to try some of their breakfast items which all look and sound lovely.

Chilaquiles

I was looking for some chilaquiles around the area and stumbled upon this cafe. I got chilaquiles verdes with carne asada added. Maybe the best chilaquiles I've had! The chips were freshly made and super crunchy. The green sauce was in the spicier side, but I still really enjoyed it! The steak is cooked medium and was very tender. The service was awesome. They kept checking up to see if we were ok. It does get busy and reservations are highly recommended. I will definitely be back!

Kids chicken taco

Had a random weekday off and decided to try this spot. Every other time I've driven by on the weekend it was packed and of course for a good reason. The food here is delicious. From the ambiance of feeling like you're in a little Mexican town to the decor inside, takes you back to a place where a small town of food is happening. Kids chicken taco, flavorful however seems to be missing a little something, perhaps a dressing. Chilaquiles- perfection. Green sauce was over the top beyond flavorful and tasty, had a little spice but nothing you can't endure. Chicken sandwich - was my favorite. There was an aioli sauce that added a zest to the chicken along with its tenderness, overall excellent. Chicken taco masala - believe I spelled it wrong, however, if you're into that good flavor, it's good. Wasn't a big fan, however, I would try it if you're into the curry type flavor because the shredded chicken was really on point. Overall, I would come back mainly for the chilaquiles and the sandwich, they had coffee. Forgot a photo but the cafe de olla latte was perfection ! A definitely need to try drink!

If you're looking for a place that casually ruins all other breakfast spots for you, let me introduce you to Amor a Mi. First of all, the coffee? Offensive. Absolutely offensive... because now every other cup I drink will taste like disappointment. Smooth, rich, and clearly made by someone who actually cares about your morning mood. The French toast was basically dessert disguised as breakfast (no complaints here), and the breakfast sandwich? Let's just say it didn't stand a chance--I inhaled it like I hadn't eaten in days. Quality ingredients, perfectly done, and zero regrets. Now, my wife ordered the chilaquiles and the octopus taco, and I made the mistake of asking for "just one bite." Rookie error. Both were insanely good--flavorful, fresh, and the kind of dishes that make you reconsider sharing ever again. And the service? Honestly, rude... in the sense that they were too good. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing--basically setting a standard most places won't live up to. Overall, Amor a Mi is one of those places that makes you feel like you discovered a hidden gem... except everyone else already knows about it. 10/10, will gladly come back and pretend I'm only there for the coffee.

red chilaquiles
Jessica G.

Good breakfast spot in Burbank! I ordered the red chilaquiles with scrambled eggs. They also offer green chilaquiles, which the server mentioned are a bit spicier. You also have the option to add chicken or steak to the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were tasty! For my drink, I ordered the Mexican matcha which was also good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and there is plenty of street parking in the area.

Mazapan Latte

A coworker introduced me to this place and it's now a part of our regular lunch rotation! The food is so fresh, flavorful and unique. The shrimp taco and latte are my staples every time. Service is so quick and friendly. We leave this place happy every time!

We got the Sweet Temptation French toast, the Very Berry French toast, and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. Parking was easy to find (street parking) and we didn't have to wait long for our table. The staff are all very friendly! We asked our waiter for suggestions and he was very helpful. Two of us were feeing sweet, one was feeling savory, and there were plenty of options on the menu. I got the Sweet Temptation French toast. This was delicious. The Dulce de Lèche was rich, but balanced out with the acidity from the strawberries. The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! My friends got the Very Berry French toast and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. They both said theirs were delicious as well. The ambience of the restaurant is clean and nice. There's seating indoors and outdoors, we chose to eat inside. The waiter checked on us a few times to make sure we were still doing okay, and we never felt rushed. Overall, I would definitely recommend Cafe De Olla. I'll be back to try their other menu items (:

Prices are more than reasonable compared to other Mexican spots in Burbank. We came for Menudo on a Saturday. It came with all the toppings on the side. I ordered 2 tacos, beef and chicken. They were amazing. I like that they use chicken breast. If you like Mole, they serve up 4 different types. I am putting their mole on my rader for next time. They even have a mole trio for $10 to sample 3 at once. Their menu is small but mighty. Be sure to order chips and salsa. If feeling fancy get the quac. I cant wait to go back. But unfortunately, they were really unfriendly & understaffed and the waiter/bartender was extremely bothered we were there and seemed very overwhelmed. I don't know who Celia is but maybe get more staff in the kitchen and a hostess and more waitress/waiters. We went in Saturday Valentines night dinner right before 6pm and found parking to be easy and should have taken that as a sign but figured we get better service. NOPE! The parking not is just really small and the people sitting had ordered and committed to staying I guess. Keep reading and you'll get my drift! Honestly, We assumed it would be a great night romantic dinner. Then, we walked in and felt so neglected. No hostess to greet or seat you. The bus man or waiter said wait here and cleaned a table when 3 were available. It looks like the three employees were doing everything and at the same time doing nothing! It was comical at first. He sat us finally and then we ordered. Appetizers and a Molcajete and two nonalcoholic drinks. By now 32mins passed. No chips & salsa. No nothing... we should have just left. But we were lazy to leave elsewhere with no reservations on Valentine day. He brought me a drink from the bar like if I ordered it, I hate to say he might have memory issues. Then he noticed we still don't have our drinks and he had to ask again what I ordered. Now 50mins passed and at another 15 mins the main course came before the appetizers were served so I cancelled it. It just seems like they didn't care for anyone else but the people at the bar. Ppl were just walking in and ended up leaving or seating themselves. Majority left and they didn't even notice! Not welcoming at all and as for the food. I feel like everything was previously frozen as the chicken and meat was very chewy-leather like. The cheese was cold. And just grateful that we didn't get sick because it wasn't cooked all the way. When I go into a restaurant, I expect good service and quality food. I unfortunately won't be returning. Such a shame because this place has western character straight out of a saloon and can't speak for the drinks as we didn't even eat our entire meal and wanted to get the hell out. Do better because this could be a cute hangout spot!
