I wanted to order some lead free ammo and paid for the order in full. Originally they thought they ordered the grain I wanted but turned out it was not. No big deal mistakes happen. The guy said he would research some options it never called me back. I called them about two weeks after because I had not heard anything. They took a message for the manager but he never called me back either. Called on 02/23/19 and spoke to Samantha she was rude and short on the phone. I suggested other lead free ammo options but she kept telling me everything was sold out and I could just come pick up my money. Went to there on 02/23/19 and got to deal with Samantha again. She acted like it was a bother to come out and help the customer, when it was their issue, when they couldn't order the product. I'm going to have to give this place a low star rating and today will probably be my last time ever shopping with Ammo Bros. I'd rather pay a little bit more to get better customer service and I'd rather go to smaller businesses and give them my support. Issue 1: I went in and put down money on a Savage Arms 110 Tactical. After I got home I looked at the receipt and it said Savage Arms 100. I went online and did a bunch of research and there was no Savage Arms 100 tactical to be found. ONLY the 110. I went back in to confirm that the firearm I did in fact purchase was the 110 and the employee gave me this whole spiel about how it is the 100 that i purchased and tried to give me some BS differentials between the 110 and 100. The next time I came in to pick up another sales rep brought out the fire arm and indeed it was the 110. They even commented on it as well that it was the 110 and noticed the receipt say 100. Issue 2: Rudeness! Mainly coming from the female staff (manager and one sales rep). I was asking about specific ammo and this female employee kept shaking her head and interrupting me as i was explaining what it was. I asked her "oh so you've heard of it?" and she said "No, i just know we don't carry it." WTF kind of crap answer is that? I've never experienced any other employees being rude aside from the manager and that employee and they both just happened to be females. read more

Let me start by apologizing to Samantha. I kinda blew up on her over the phone and used some harsh language. I was given some misinformation and unfortunately took it out on her. However, she took it in stride and went above and beyond to help me out, emailed me personally to get me the information I needed, then helped me in person when I arrived at the store. She is VERY knowledgeable and a credit to the Ontario Ammo Bros Organization. Honestly a horrific experience. They have no phone number that works. If you want a status on your gun you will sit outside in line for hours. When you finally get in, the associates are rude and condescending. No communication with those in line. Transfer prices are not great. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE!!!!! I get that everyone is trying to buy ammo and every store is short on inventory, but this is just bad customer care. Called and called and called, but only get answering machine. Arrived before opening, lots of people already waiting. I wait to find out that they are not even allowing walk in to buy. Asked how to get in and she repies to schedule appointment. Well ,they don't answer phones, the answering message doesn't say to make a appointment. Only says they are to busy to answer calls. The worker tells everyone to order online and do a store pick up. I asked if they had a certain ammo in stock, she was clueless and didn't even know. Well, I just checked online and everything shows out of stock and to go into/call store for inventory. So how do you purchase and pick up then. They easily turned away 20+ people while I was there. All I wanted to do was spend about 2k in ammo. I ended up going elsewhere and spent my money there because they know how to answer phones calls and properly inform customers of possible inventory, wait times, and cost. You need to Learn to properly run a business. Be organized. Make a inventory sheet of what you have in stock and pricing( primarily ammo since your called AMMO BROS). Get a line of customers outside. Ask each customer what they want to purchase, go down your inventory list to see if its in stock. They only get what they ask for. Inform customer if its available or not. Make sure customer is qualified to purchase that day. Use a questionnaire to determine who would not qualify. Go down the line of customers and get there information and set up a time to come back if your very busy. At the very least put a notice on your website or answering machine that you require an appointment. Why let returning customers and potential customers waste their time going to your store, just to be told your not taking walk in customers. All this within 30 mins of opening your store too. It saddens me to write this review, but bad customer service should be reported so that hopefully they learn from it. This was my go to ammo store but I will not come back here and take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

Bought 3 boxes of their .40 S&W reloads one Saturday morning. I fed my Glock 22 all 300 rounds at the local indoor range nearby - absolutely zero FTE's/FTF's. In the past, I've also used their .9 mm reloads and had the same positive experience. They have good stuff here. With the recent ammo binge, however, it's just tough to get your hands on their ammo since people buy it all out as soon as it hits the shelves. But things have gotten better in recent days. People are probably just running out of money, or they find that buying tens of thousands of rounds just to have them sit in their garages makes for very expensive (and space-consuming) paperweights. read more

The manager Art dismissed me and my buddy who are looking to buy and do a private party transfer. This guy is just plain rude. One delay after another! This prices are high here. At least $50 more than most gun stores. They do have a lot of ammo for sale. Maybe they can concentrate on that! But the slow staff and rudeness are just too much for me to return ever again! Gotta say - I see the negative reviews but I had a good experience there. I went in about 3 times and all the times I had different ppl help me and were very nice/knowledgeable. The female employees can use some smiling.. The guys were a little more knowledgeable and easier to talk to i guess now that i think about it. I got the written test/background check/purchased my first firearm there. It went all as explained. The prices could be a little high there but since it was my first gun, i went with their recommendations. I will more than likely go back to get more accessories and possibly more firearm. read more

Overall, I had a positive experience at this shop, and would return here again. The selection of products on display is impressively comprehensive (they have VEPRs!), and the prices seem reasonable. I picked up a pair of NanoVaults (NV100s) from them for actually *less* than what they cost on Amazon.com ($25 vs. $30 each, respectively). This is an impressive feat, considering the overhead that they have to contend with as a brick and mortar shop vs. an online vendor. The Private Party Transfer experience here is not the best, but I'd say better than average. They're pretty fast (better than any Turner's, any day of the week), they don't give you any attitude (smart business move as always), and by and large, they don't play any games with you when it comes to the PPTs. Two things worth noting, however: 1) Oddly, during the PPT, they had me (the seller) fill out a form with my info. No big deal, just thought it was kind of funny because literally NO other FFL I've ever conducted a PPT at (and I've done quite a few of them over the past years) has ever had me fill out such a form as a seller. 2) My buyer was required to purchase yet another new cable lock from the shop to accompany his pistolen. No big deal either (a few more bucks), but Turner's is the only other shop I know of that so stringently articulates and enforces the requirements of any FSD that must accompany a firearm in a PPT (the seller throwing in any random aftermarket DOJ-approved cable lock w/o a receipt is apparently not kosher). Just like the original Ammo Bros in Cerritos, you cannot just walk into the store at a whim - the staff has to make an assessment of you, and then buzz you in at cage of the front entrance. I have no complaints really (gee, who could blame a Merchant of Death for having stringent security measures?), I just find the whole thing amusing. Most (though not all) of the staff here was pleasant and professional to deal with. High marks in particular go out to Louie and the nice girl at the counter (I'm pretty sure her name was Samantha). Plenty of parking is available out front. read more

Recently went to the Ontario store, took the FSC exam, completed the background check, then bought a Glock and ammo. It took a little more than 3 weeks from start to finish. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I do recommend making an appointment, go to their web site and select the "leave a message" option. The customer service has drastically change since my last review. Today I waited in the freezing cold for 3 hours for an online pick up order. Once I finally got inside the staff was extremely rude and couldn't care less about customer service. The chubby hispanic guy with a black shirt has a complex, he is very disrespectful and should be fired. I bought an item online 2 weeks ago which was pointless. The item has still not been shipped to the store yet. I've been waiting 2 weeks for nothing because it doesn't even count as the 10 day California cool off period. I was given no tracking number and just told to come back at a later time. The chubby guy refused to give me a refund because the item was purchased online. I love Ammo Bros. I remember seeing this location as a baby, during it's grand opening event. There was a tent sale and even an FNH/Walther truck. Now he's all grown up and running like a well oiled machine. I came here the other night, a Friday. To my surprise it wasn't busy at all. Sure, they were an hour and a half from closing, but that never stopped the Cerritos store from having a long wait. That night I experienced for the first time, being approached by a salesperson without having drawn a number, then just "shooting the shit" (pun intended). Worst ordering experience ever. I ordered two scopes with the rings on September 7. When the package arrived, packing slip states two scopes, two sets of rings. There was only one scope and one set of rims. The box wasn't even big enough for two scopes to fit in. I contacted the seller he assured me he would ship out the other scope with rings on Friday, September 15, and was shipping at second day air as I needed this by Wednesday, September 20. So Wednesday the package arrives with the tracking number that he sent me and there is no scope in the package , he shipped me a small bottle of cleaning solvent and a small bottle of oil which I did not order nor need. And still no scope I will be going through PayPal for a full refund ordering from this place was the worst experience I've ever had ordering anything online.
