Amigo's Burrito

Great place for Mexican food in Kahului. Service was friendly. Casual ambiance. Food and margarita was tasty!

Has the birria meat plate this time and wow thats alot of meat. Mouth watering tender and came out so fast. The cosume has a deep flavor making my way down the menu.

Came here for lunch with my family, we were seated about 10 mins after waiting. Party of 9. They have short staff signs everywhere. So atleast that is black and white. Surprisingly we did get our drinks quick and our food quick. And customer service was decent as well. They are short staffed. Over worked. Give them some grace Reason for such a bad Rating is quality of food. Incredibly bland food. And the cheese they put into your burrito is not melted. It's just clumps of raw cheese. Don't think I would come again. Thank you.

We arrived around 5pm and the place was nearly empty, but it filled up quickly. There aren't many tables, but they do a lot of take-out business. Santos provided great service. I ordered the special, birria quesa tacos. My wife ordered the shredded chicken burrito. I asked for a tall modelo, because I was sure I would have to share it. The beer was good and cold. We munched on the chips & salsa until our food arrived. The tacos were thin, not holding much birria but it tasted great and there were 4 of them. A cup of consome' was included, which was fine for dipping although a bit messy. A thimble of super hot juice was also included but I would have preferred a little dab of refried beans and a spoonful of rice to go with the 5 chips that filled out the plate. Santos checked in with us a couple of times to see how we were doing. I shared my tacos and sampled my wife's burrito. The shredded chicken was rather blah, but the leftover consome' from the birria helped a lot.

A crunchy taco - quite small.

I'd call it a 3.5. If you ordered takeout, you wait outside the restaurant. They do have a seating area outside where you can wait. If you want to eat inside, line up by the sign outside and wait. Eventually someone will come out to help you. It was about 1 pm and I hadn't eaten all day, so I was quite hungry. The chips were fresh, and not stale as others have experienced. The salsa was mild. I ordered an enchilada and a taco. The taco were okay but really small. It's a good thing I ordered the enchilada too, or I would have still been really hungry. Because the portions were small, we easily polished off the chips. It's in a strip mall with a parking lot, but at popular times, you might have to do some driving around to find a spot. There's some "shade," under the solar panels, and a charging station.

Considering it was Cinco De Mayo and how crowded this restaurant was, the service was still good and food delicious as always.

This a small Mexican restaurant. A little tricky to see from dairy road but worth finding. It's not very big and fills up quickly around 6 for dinner. They seem to do a big pickup business so if after 6 I'd go that route. We were greeted quickly and shown to our table. The waiter brought a small container with warm chips and some delicous salsa and 2 waters. I ordered the chicken burrito it was delicous alittle milder than I thought it would be but added salsa and it was perfect. It was packed with lots of chicken and rice & I was happily surprised no beans inside. I would definately order this again.

Chilaquiles

The food is delicious, I had the chilaquiles.... Bomb. Our server was amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Very welcoming place. Real authentic mexican food.

Chicken flautas plate

Food was good portion and tasteful. I would definitely go back to get my Mexican food fix. We did take-out. When you pick up your fold, you let the hostess (that is waiting outside by the entrance) know. You pay right there for cash or card. Not the friendliest person and didn't give me my change from paying cash. I guess to avoid that, I will pay card next time (not sure if there is a fee).

Been to Amigos twice. Both times food not the greatest. Don't waste your money in their burgers too.

The food is very good. Low prices. The place itself is nothing fancy. My wife and I would eat there again.

Their barbecued ribs are surprisingly special and fall-off-the-bone-tender. My husband really enjoyed the fish tacos. We both had grilled chicken on our second visit. I can't remember the last time I saw baked potatoes as a side choice and they were perfectly prepared as well. We found the service to be very efficient and friendly despite the place being super crowded and busy both visits. The milkshakes are a bit spendy with the 'daily special' running $18! My husband loved the flavor but not sure we'd spring for that again.

Ruby our server takes our order, and sends it in. Time goes by and Ruby comes by looking at worried that we might get mad with her. She tells us that "wifi went down so our order didn't print in the kitchen, and she will it through the kitchen". Things happen. Our food comes out and it was good. While we were eating something else happened so I went to talk with another staff member, who took care of this issue. This turned out to be case of if it will go wrong it will. The manager was told about all that happened and stopped by visit. He took care of things, and asked that we give them a try again. We did, and here what happened. We had just lunch near by and wanted to have one of the various milkshakes. So we stopped in a few days later. The was fairly busy, and hostess sat us at a table in front of the counter. The server came over to take our order in asking us what would like to eat? My wife tells her, that didn't want anything to eat since we just had lunch, and only wanted milkshakes. The servers face soured a little hearing this. She walks behind the counter, turns to lean against the counter with her back to us talking with the young man who makes the shakes. She brings the milkshakes over and they were good. Our server never smiled the whole time in dealing with us. She dropped of the check and walked away. We paid cash, and left. You know that place where you always have a bad experience. Unfortunately Cool Cat Cafe is one of those for us.

Tin Roof Maui - Mochiko Chicken

After a 5 hour flight, my family and I were starving and looking for a quick bite to eat. Tin Roof…read morefit the bill...it is located minutes from the airport and we found their food was a great way to start our vacation. I ordered the fish sandwich and my husband had the mochiko chicken with garlic noodle ( garlic noodle +$4). The fish sandwich came with American cheese, tartar sauce and perfectly fried fish fillets. Mochiko chicken was crunchy - it came with crunchy rice crackers bits with a soy sauce based sauce. My son had the poke which also had the rice cracker bits. We all enjoyed the Poke as well. I also ordered the Bibingka which was their chocolate butter mochi with sprinkles. I never had chocolate butter mochi before, (only regular butter mochi from family potlucks) it seemed it didn't have that coconut flavor that you get with regular butter mochi but I am glad I tried it. The food overall hit the spot. Staff was kind and welcoming. You can order online but we opted to order in person and the wait was not long. (We got there before 5pm). This is a take out place so you need to plan. We knew we wanted to do a Costco run before checking in so we just ate in the car. Costco is super close by which made Tim Roof very convenient as well.

The mochiko chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, and I really liked the crunchy bits sprinkled on top, which added some extra texture. However, the chicken itself was extremely bland and barely had any flavor. I was expecting something spicy and well seasoned, and it really could have used a LOT more sauce to give it some flavor. The garlic shrimp was probably the better of the two dishes. The shrimp had a nice garlicky flavor, but I really didn't like that they were fried with the shells on. It made them pretty difficult and messy to eat because you have to peel off the shell while trying not to lose all the garlic, seasoning, and crispy breading stuck to it. The mac salad was decent but nothing special. It was a little bland for my taste, and I wish there had been more potato mixed in since the potato was the element with the most flavor. Another downside is that there was absolutely no seating, so you'll need to plan on taking your food elsewhere to eat. This was pretty inconvenient, especially if you're not staying nearby and want to enjoy them while they're fresh. The cashier also wasn't particularly friendly, which didn't help the overall experience. Overall, I think this place is a bit overhyped. The food wasn't terrible, but the mochiko chicken really missed the mark in terms of flavor, and between the lack of seating and service, I didn't think the experience was worth the hype.
