Loved working with Amia Bakery on my fiancés 30th birthday cake. I went back and forth with them on some inspiration pictures I had and they totally nailed it. They were very honest about things they could do and not do which I really appreciated. The flavors that you can pick from are also different but in a good way. This bakery is a hidden gem at the Fremont hub. I've ordered many cakes and they are all delicious. My family loves the carrot and chocolate banana the most. We ordered a cake for a special occasion and were disappointed. The design didn't match what we discussed (I provided reference photos and had it in writing what I wanted) and they missed the main part we wanted which negatively affected our reaction when we cut into it. I was back and forth with them via email and got quoted several different prices which seemed unprofessional like they were making up charges during the planning portion. The front desk people seemed like they never knew what was going on and could barely speak English making the ordering process challenging. The cake itself was bland and lacked flavor. We probably won't be coming back or recommending this place to others. read more

absolutely amazing! i ordered a cake last minute for my birthday, and they absolutely delivered! they were incredibly communicative and responded fast to my inquiry and emails. the cake was perfect! i sent them a couple of inspiration pictures and they captured my vision perfectly! i know the style of cake that i got is kind of trendy right now, and they absolutely nailed it! it was a bit of a silly request, having them print out a picture of my favorite actor on the cake, but they made the cake so well!! i had my mom pick up the cake, and there were no issues! if you ever wanna get a cake like mine, or anything similar to it, definitely come here! 10/10!!! read more

Amia Bakery delivers every time i choose them! they are very detailed, answer your questions patiently and very transparent about pricing of the different options you suggest. They are pricier than other options in Fremont but they are so worth it. with themed cakes, most bakeries focus on the looks, but Amia ensures the flavors remain outstanding. we ordered the Opera Cake for my daughter's second birthday and it was moist, delicious and not overly sweet which we love! So happy with the custom cake I ordered. I wanted a Buzz Lightyear cake for my daughter, she has been asking for this cake forever. Thank you Amia bakery for making my daughter's first birthday party so memorable.. I had given them a photo of the cake design i had liked (incidentally was the photo that sparked the theme of the whole event) they did an amazing job and make the cake a reality, in fact better than what the photo even was!! The ordering was seem-less via email, very responsive and clear. End to end it took us less than two email transactions to finalize all the details and give the order. We had dietary restriction (eggless) which they accommodated. We ordered the Amia Opera Cake which was absolutely scrumptious. Kids and adults all enjoyed it, and was the perfect sweet ending to our event. read more

I ordered another cake from this bakery for my son's 2nd birthday; this is the second time I've ordered cake from them and they didn't disappoint me at all just like first time. They took special care about my dietary restrictions. I had ordered deep chocolate which had raspberry and the taste of it was amazing all my guests loved it. A coworker brought in tiramisu cupcakes for us to try, which of course we happily did :) At ~$2 a pop, the eggless cupcakes can be a nice once-in-a-while treat. The buttercream frosting isn't too sweet and is delicately flavored. I'm not sure what ingredients they chose to replace eggs in their cupcake, but upon my first bite I got a prominent taste of vegetable oil and perhaps softened cornflour. The oil definitely keeps the cake moist. Crumb of the cake is a bit larger than that of plain flour -- something to note in case you are particular about your cake consistency. We ordered a custom eggless Tropical Torte Cake from Amia for my daughter's birthday. A week before the pick-up date I emailed them a cake design that we pulled up from the Internet. They were accommodating even though we changed the size of the cake shortly before the pick up date. The decorator did a fantastic job recreating the design and the cake was absolutely delicious - fresh and moist. Everyone enjoyed it and went for second servings. We were used to Amia's decadent cakes, as we have been ordering from them for the past several years, but they really topped themselves this time. I highly recommend Amia! read more

A couple of vegan items available on display but of course can be special ordered. Friendly and quick service. I picked up one of their small strawberry vegan cakes on display that I can eat while one of my family member's celebrates a birthday with a regular cake. The cake was a bit dense may be because of vegan ingredients though i do think could have been lighter if not fluffier in sponge. read more

I am(was) a long time Amia Bakery customer. We order same cake(Tres Leches) 2-4 times throughout the year since 2017. Ordered Tres Leches Cake for birthday and it was horribly dry which ruined our celebration. Took it back to them and received even WORST EVER customer service. Not even a single shred of accountability or an apology from the people working there. Told them to keep the cake and walked out. Thanks to their horrible service, I was able to search and found few other great bakeries around which I will go to in the future. I also ordered a replacement cake from one of them and it turned out really wonderful (was able to save the occasion). Read the 1 star reviews, each and every one of them is true. Their cakes have gone downhill. Their service was never ok from the start. read more

This is such a gem in my city. 4-stars really because this personally isn't my favorite style of cakes and buttercream, but that's not to say it's not delicious for what they promise to deliver. I appreciate the options they have for special dietary needs. From Jain Vegetarian to vegan to gluten-free, they have a cake for everyone. I have been coming here off and on since I first discovered Amia sometime in the early 2010's. I can't remember the exact year, but this was a wonderful lunchtime place to visit which is located next to Cold Stone, usually my coworker and my next stop before heading back to the office. The service and quality of cakes here are top notch with cakes made with care. I don't find the cakes here to be "too sweet" as say something from Whole Foods or even Safeway, so it helps in allowing one to eat more cake and not feel gross from all the sugar! As for COVID-safety, I wanted to highlight how wonderful Amia's staff was at the very start of Shelter In Place. Our entire family did not leave the house except to exercise. We didn't even work up the courage to do delivery until the middle of April. With that in mind, Amia was *the first* non-grocery store visit since SIP. I pre-ordered a vegan cake for my mom's 67th birthday and Amia had everything ready for us as planned. When I arrived at the bakery, I gave the staff a phone call and they brought our cake out and set it on the bench in front for me to retrieve after they went back in. It was 100% contact-free and so professional, especially during this awkward time. I appreciated how understanding they were of our family's social distance preference and worked with it. Lastly, refer to the photo of the custom cake. We went with something lowkey and it turned out beautifully! I added some berries to add a little color to the cake, but otherwise it was wonderful! I emailed this place a while ago for a custom cake and they messaged back with one sentence claiming they don't have tools to design my cake...however looking at their yelp page they design all sorts of cakes that look much more detailed and complicated than mine. They practically brushed me off. Every time I call this place I receive an attitude from the workers. Perhaps they don't like their job? Who knows. I've regretfully also gotten my wedding cake from them a few years back and it looked 40% similar to the photo I had provided them. Thankfully my florist redecorated it and made it look much bigger and nicer. Unfortunately this is going to be the last time attempting to support this business. read more

We contacted Amia Bakery for a custom Farm cake order. Anh was vey responsive and we exchanged lot if emails to confirm the cake size, flavors and shape. We wanted cake on July 4th, but since Amia is closed on Sundays, we picked up the cake on july 3rd and still cake was very moist, soft and flavorful on july 4th noon. I've ordered from Amia's before, but this year they really delivered! My son has an egg allergy and Amia Bakery offers specialty cakes to cater to dietary restrictions. His 4th birthday was coming up and he requested a Naruto birthday cake less than 2 weeks prior to the date. We immediately sent in a request for a detailed customized cake, confirmed the order less than a week before needed - including an additional cupcake added the week of (to blow a candle for health and safety purposes). Communications were quick, detailed, yet to the point. Once received, everything was beyond our expectations! We were so excited to unveil and everyone including parents were excited to eat! Finally a bakery that has sugar-free options and can create custom cakes! I ordered a Sugar free banana cake for my husband's birthday this year and he and the family absolutely loved it! I sent a request about 10 days in advance and they responded within 24 hours. Anh, who is awesome, provided me with the right size cake based on how many people I was looking to serve, pricing on possible cake designs, and flavor options! Because this was a custom cake the inside of the cake was sugar free but it was frosted with buttercream. Which I might add was the perfect balance of sweetness! Not a real bakery - Close the physical location I am not the one posting reviews of places leave out bad reviews but I had to post this as soon as I walked out of the start from the parking lot so the time stamp shows who was working on this shift. I have crossed this place a few times and was intrigued to try their pastries and the outside board read that they even have soups and stuff. I walk in to a warehouse like setting with a namesake display of few bite size cakes and larger cakes and everyone inside were busy. I asked one of the employees there if there is anyone to help and her response was 'Read the board and let me know what you want' I told her that few boards were missing and I don't know what is what. She did not move still and was rude again just reading out the cakes they had from the other end of the warehouse. I made her come to the counter and asked her to point out the cakes they had and eventually I picked the 'Mango-something' cake(she would repeat the name) that weirdly had a strawberry topping. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I can bake better cakes at my house! The dough was underbaked, there was no mango or any flavor for that matter and it was the worst cake I have ever had. Never going again and these guys need a serious lesson on how to run a bakery store where customers will walk in. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! read more

I'd love to keep Pie Dreams my little secret, but out of respect for the proprietor's mad baking skills, it's behind Dino's. The owner is passionate about his pies and shared his philosophy about how pie can make us all nicer, gentler people. I mean, that's not exactly verbatim, but the pie case made it hard to pay attention. On my visit, there were two savory pies (hand pies) and a selection of sweet pies (hand pies and slices). Being a big supporter of small businesses, I ordered 4. All I can say is I'm super happy I don't live closer. The chicken bacon hand pie was delicious. Big pieces of chicken in a flavorful creamy sauce. There may have been some vegetables in it but I was driving and it was unsafe to inspect my pie closely. The caramel apple hand pie was good. Because I'm not an apple pie fan I appreciated that the apples were sliced thinly, not chunky, and I loved the addition of the sanding sugar on top. I ordered the apricot frangipane (AF) for two reasons: it was double-crusted and it didn't have whipped cream on top. If you love pie, go to Pie Dreams and have a slice or three (no judgment here). If you're not sure or don't think you like pie, go to Pie Dreams. You may surprise yourself.

The coconut pudding pie was sooo good, loved the texture and flavor, they had toasted coconut on the side to add on top. The fresh silk pie was my favorite! It was not overly chocolatey and had a nice mousse texture, there was an under layer of crisp ganache that made all the flavors and textures pop! The crust is nice and buttery and flakey. These were not heavy pies, just creamy light melt in your mouth. They also have frozen pies so you can take and bake yourself. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth, and will be back this time to order a whole pie!

Although they aren't cheap at about $6.25 per one, they were definitely delicious. It seems like a family run business that puts a lot of care into their products though. We grabbed an assortment of flavors, an iced oat latte, and a black sesame latte. The banana creme brulee malasada looked so good that we had to try it in the store while waiting for our drinks. The dough is so soft and pillowy with a crispy layer of bruleed sugar and a delicious banana cream that was absolutely to die for. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great. The espresso shot they pulled perfectly complemented the oat milk -- this is one of the better iced oat lattes I've had. We tried the black sesame latte because it sounded interesting and it was so creamy and loaded with black sesame flavor. For anyone that doesn't drink caffeine, I highly recommend you try the black sesame latte. With such great quality malasadas and drinks, it's no wonder there was a line! We'll definitely be back!

The cashier was very friendly but I don't think she speaks English since she kept talking to us in Mandarin. Mandarin isn't our native language but between my dad and I, we understood most of the things she said.

Wide varieties of options to choose from. I stopped by for my regular iced cold Tiger boba latte medium size cup for $4.90. Note: my cup looked very small compared to what I'm used to getting. Did the medium sized cups shrink? The lady probably used the wrong cup size, but I'm having a good morning, so not sweating about it. However, I can easily buy beautiful and delicious slices of cakes for around or under $5 each. No lines and no crowds after 10am on a Thursday morning. Staff was helpful at front counter. The place is still much better than other retail spaces. It's a good feeling inside. I'm glad I was able to make another quick stop here. This 85 Degrees C Bakery is definitely the better place.

The matcha wasn't strong but the sea salt one had more tea flavor which I liked since it's less sweet. The barista was kind to show me all the limited edition magnets to pick from. They're all so cute, but I had to choose one per two drinks. Definitely worth coming back to this original location even though it's a bit of a drive.

Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. They have matcha, Hojicha, and seasonal offerings as well (like their banana cream!). There is a single bathroom (with code), WiFi (spotty sometimes but I was still able to get what I needed done), and a decent amount of seating (depending on time you go) with available outlets. I worked there from 12 to almost closing, and was able to get the table near the window + an outlet! I was truly sat. I tried the mango ice cream, and it was sweet, refreshing, and packed with real mango chunks--you can truly taste the fresh fruit. My absolute favorite was the soursop ice cream. It had real pieces of fruit, even the seeds, which made it taste incredibly authentic and fresh. No wonder it's one of their most popular flavors! The rocky road was also delicious and satisfying. The service was excellent--the staff was polite, friendly, and very accommodating. I highly recommend La Michoacana if you're looking for a quick snack or top-notch ice cream. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to!

First off, I just want to say I was very disappointed. Seeing all the yelp reviews of this place there were very good and very bad reviews that made me curious. SO I finally had the chance to visit the place, and I was so excited. My fave cupcake of alll time is RED VELVET, so I ordered the last one they had, and my mom got the Ham&Cheese Pita Sandwich. Everything was going fine, they gave me the Red Velvet and we were waiting for the Pita Sandwich and we were about to pay. The total was about $7, and we had $20 cash so we gave it to them.... of course 20-7=13....so $13 is our change,right?? So she gave us the coin change and we just waited for our $12... she went to the kitchen and was helping out someone and assuming she knew she didnt give us the change,yet. WE waited and waited... we never got it! So we looked at her like"ummm...we're waiting" but she just said "sorry we ran out of pennies so we gave you some extra coins." And there is nothing wrong with that!! But we just wanted our $12! And so we explained to her she didnt give us the right amount of change. But she rolled her eyes at us(RUDE!!) and kept explaining "WE DONT HAVE ANY MORE PENNIES!" but that wasnt the problem!!! SO she brought the owner(i guess) and we kept telling her we did not get the right amount of change. After a lot of arguing, the owner understood us and said"OH, you didnt get the BILL change!" and gave us our $12. The cashier didnt seem so happy with that, she said "I AM VERY SURE I GAVE THEM THE BILL!!!!"repeatedly and gave us an angry look. After we got the food we ordered, we ate(very uncomfortably) and I heard the cashier and the owner talking, the cashier looked VERY angry at us. The food was GREAT actually, but the service was very rude!! That's why I gave 2 stars instead of one. I personally really wanted to go to this place to write a GOOD review about them, but seems like I just couldnt. All I want to say here(after the verrry loonng review:P) is that it didnt matter that she didnt give us the $12 but the fact that she handled this problem very rudely, as a customer I feel very disappointed I cannot return here easily because I do not want to be treated like this again, but the thing is I like the food here! Well, for Fremont it's ok. For anywhere else, it's kind of below average for lunch & sandwiches. This review is for the sandwiches (not the cakes). The prices are very low, so it is good for what you pay for. I'd say it's a little better than Subway, and comparable prices too. That's not to say they're similar to Subway in what they offer, but the price-to-amount-of-food ratio is pretty comparable and very reasonable. I ordered the Mediterranean Spinach vegetarian sandwich, and feel that the salad was lacking in any toppings, the sandwich was lacking in interesting flavor, and the bread was dry and not what you expect from a bakery. The service is friendly though, and the sandwiches came out pretty fast. Amia Bakery, I want to like you because of the nice-looking cakes, but the lunch food could use a boost in quality, flavor, and creativity. If anything, at least I know I can get a very cheap sandwich that is higher quality than Subway for almost the same price or less (since salad is included). Unfortunately, that isn't enough to persuade me to come back. read more

I'm usually pretty proud of being a health nut. So when I happened to visit Amia's with a friend, I must have had a sweet tooth craving--and there were SO MANY wonderful options to choose from (Bread pudding, red velvet cupcakes, blueberry muffins, parfaits, mango mousse, etc.). But what's even BETTER is that most of the ingredients they use are organic! AND there are many vegan options. The owners are definitely on top of good eating. The staff seemed extremely friendly and welcoming (in fact, one of the worker's humor is so funny that I told him to go into comedy---but his baking is too good, ha). I'll most likely be back with a few friends to hang out on the weekend. I personally think Amia's Red Velvet cupcake does NOT taste better than Sprinkles' cupcake in Palo Alto. It's good but Sprinkles' Red Velvet cupcake is STILL THE BEST! Worth the drive to Palo Alto and hang out at Stanford Mall. ps. I came in this evening and asked the guy who works there if the bakery does wedding cupcakes. He replied, "Yes, if you have the money..." BAD ANSWER! I'm definitely choosing Sprinkles for my wedding cupcakes even if it'll only cost me $0.50 more per cupcake. read more

so my friends and i had breakfast at their place saturday and it was deeeeeelicious. We had the bread pudding (so much better than tartine), my friend had the cinnamon rolls and almond croissants and they loved it and the price is really reasonable. We also went away w/the red velvet cupcakes, chocolate fudge one and strawberry parfait (so freaking perfect on a hot day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no one it's always sold out) and gobbled them up instantly, definitely coming back again!!! read more

Amia Bakery made awesome customized cakes for birthdays. I had them make a race car cake for my kid's birthday. They do fondant cake with very nice designs. They are good not just for kids but also for adults. They can be a bit pricey but if you want something that can wow the crowd instead of the regular safeway cakes, then this is the place to go in Fremont for your kid's birthday party cake. I need eggless cake for my birthday for Wednesday and called them on Monday at 10:00am to place in order and guy pick up phone told me to call me back cuz he was with other customer so decided to call back after hour and no one pick up my phone I call two times so I decided to call them back today at 11:00 am and now they saying they can't my cake until Thursday common Guys Wednesday is my birthday what am going to about cake on Thursday never going back to this place again. read more

Great find for a bakery. Right in the hub. so after shopping at safeway I went there and got a tres leches cake. I love sweets and know a thing or two about whats good and not. This cake was very good. Moist and perfectly sweetened. we got a 1/4 sheet for a birthday party and all the guests including the birthday girl loved it read more

Wanted to try this bakery because of the great reviews for the eggless cakes and the prices are much cheaper compared to in the area. I had ordered a tira misu cake and it looked great but was very dry and hard from the inside. I would probably get something else if I ever order from here again. read more

Everyone working here are so friendly. I usually order my cakes last minute and they are so nice that inspite of being busy, they'll make the cake for me. I love their egg less pistachio cake - unique and great taste. Their mango-rasberry is pretty good. Definitely try this place. read more
