My review is long overdue--I ordered a cake in March for my fiancé's birthday. I ordered a green tea cake with mocha frosting and a cute design on top. I found this bakery on Instagram and immediately fell in love with the style. The ordering process was a breeze, and the cake itself was amazing! The textures and flavors were perfect, and the design was just as I asked. The cake was perfect for two people, and had just the right amount of sweetness. Whether you're celebrating something or just want a good cake, order from Mitai Bakery!

I absolutely love Mitai Bakery. I was looking for a cute bento box cake and this place did not disappoint. I've already ordered twice from here now and every time it has been amazing. It is also important to me that there are gluten free options, and this place has macarons and mochi muffins! The baker is quick to reply and fun to work with to get a design and flavor right. The first time I ordered a cake with my cats face on it and it was so cute!! The cakes are also not too sweet which is something I look for. They are designed well and has great texture and taste.

I was having a hard time finding a baker who could make bento box mini cakes for my birthday so soon, and Mitai Bakery was the best!! She made everything specific to my liking and the cakes turned out so great. Im so sad i only got to eat a piece of the heart cake because my friend accidentally toppled our boat over and it spilled all over another friend but it still looked great and i ate what i could haha. It was soo spongey and moist I loved it. Thank you again!

I will definitely be reordering from Mitai Bakery again. Communication was easy and fast and she always responded quickly to my questions. She was so accommodating and the cake I ordered for my friend was even better than I could imagine. My friend loved it so much and the smile that she had when she saw the cake was worth it!

Thank you so very much for the cake! It was exactly what I wanted and ordered. My daughter loved it. The matcha was perfect and delicious.

chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. Slightly dry but sweetness from frosting/icing balanced it out.

Found her page via Instagram and getting in contact was a little difficult as dm's weren't open for everyone/ public and replies came a little late through text. However, other than that she was accommodating to designs and delivery which was helpful. The cake turned out SO cute and arrived safely to the desired address! Everyone loved the cake:) right amount of sweetness as well

All the flavors were decadent and the macaron shells are the texture they are supposed to be. They don't crack when you pick them up and are soft to the bite. I recently ordered several pistachios macarons because they are my favorite. The shells were perfect. The pistachio filling was too sweet for me but that's a preference thing so can't knock it. You must pick up at their kitchen in Milpitas so this is really what will make a difference if I'm able to order or not because I'm not local to Milpitas and Bay Area traffic is no joke. The owner communicates effectively and orders are fresh. I've seen many of her customized orders on social media and her work is detailed. She incorporates a lot of flavors from the community she serves (Asian, Mexican, etc) Still one of the most delicious macarons I've had in the Bay Area. Will always look out for the Valentines Day flavor boxes because the menu of flavors is thoughtful and perfect for the holiday. It left a forever impression of her macarons. Will keep her in mind for macarons.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.

But I've been coming to this…read moreparticular location since the pandemic and I've never had a bad experience here--unlike other locations. For starters this location is definitely a more pickup and go location. There is very limited seating and the space is also a lot smaller. But what they lack in space they make up in efficiency. I've never had an issue picking up anything here either through online orders or simply walking in to grab a cake. The staff are always on top of things. Now let's talk about the cakes. If you don't order ahead of time or reserve a cake in advance, then expect the consequences of not planning ahead. The cakes they have on display or the back may not taste the freshest. But in my particular case, I've been fortunate enough that every cake I bought from here was fresh and moist. The staff would even be kind enough to grab one from the back for me without even asking. I bring this up because for bakeries through put is very important on how fresh their products are and this location definitely goes through their inventory constantly. For mother's day they basically ran out of all their cakes so plan ahead for those big occasions. What I also appreciate is they are always able to do a special message for you free of cost, and I always end up tipping extra because you can rarely find this type of service at other cake shops. Because of their flexibility and availability, I will always recommend this location to family, friends and to you as well. Plan ahead and this place won't disappoint. Looking forward to continue coming back here.

Two very kind ladies noticed us looking at the ice cream cakes and took the time to offer a few recommendations. We decided on the Oreo vanilla ice cream cake, and it completely exceeded expectations. Super creamy, rich without being too sweet, and packed with Oreo flavor in every bite. I've had plenty of ice cream cakes before, and this one was easily better than anything I've had at Baskin-Robbins. The texture was smoother, the flavors tasted fresher, and there was none of that overly processed dry cake texture. Perfect for celebrations or just as a treat. I'll definitely be coming back for another one; probably gonna try the mango fresh cake next.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).
