I read some of the reviews about this company , after calling them to help when our AC went out today . First of all I received a phone call back from their office less than an hour after our warranty company notified them of our issue . They told me someone would be here between 10am and 2pm , they arrived about 10:20am and had our AC disaster fixed and running after about 10 minutes . I understand on days like these of 110+degrees can make us grumpy and think that all these companies are just sitting back and taking their time , when in fact many many people have AC issues during the summer , these guys are on the go from the time they get to work . I appreciate the workmanship, detail and knowledge of the two gentlemen who made my day so much cooler . This company is a class act , so if your AC is acting up , call these guys . NOT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! IF I COULD REVIEW WITH ZERO I WOULD. In April 2024 I needed my air conditioner serviced this year. After calling three times and never received a call back I called another company. Americas Pride called back days later. I needed it to be fixed when I called. They installed a furnace in 2016 and I have the Registered Standard Coverage. On 11/5/2024 my furnace was not working. I called Americas Pride and left a message. Did not hear back, sent an email on 11/5 and no response. I told them we have not heat and my husband has health issues, and the cold bothers him. I paid for the furnace and the covered parts which do not do me not good. NO RESPONSE BY PHONE OR EMAIL. 11/6/2024 I called several times and left a messages and emailed again. NO RESPONSE VIA PHONE OR EMAIL. I have all printed correspondence of my emails and response from their website "Thanks for contacting us! We will get in touch with you shortly". Finally, on 11/7/2024 I had to call another company. They came right and fixed the problem with the furnace. read more

Do not ever use this company! Won't return phone calls. They installed our new hvac unit through our warranty company. When it finally rained here, water was seeping through the intake vent. Tried multiple times contacting them to please come and fix the issue. Even the home warranty tried. Got ZERO response. Terrible business ethics and horrible customer service. Im surprised they are even practicing and that warranty companies are referring them. Shame on me for not looking into them but you'd think the home warranty did their homework. We thought we could put our trust in America's Pride and did for a number of years. Then, we found out our trust was misplaced. We purchased a new air handler and installation through this company in March and thought we were all set for the summer. Then, in July when we were not getting cool air we called America's Pride. First issue, we were told they couldn't help us, as they only worked via One Guard home warranty company in the summer and we were no longer contracted with One Guard. (In March, we paid American's Pride $4435 beyond the small amount covered by One Guard.) Just as well, as we found out when we hired a different AC company there were numerous issues. First, the compressor had too much refrigerant (yes, this is a real thing), then we found out after some of the refrigerant was drained out, that it was tainted, likely at install when the refrigerant was mixed with nitrogen improperly. Next, when the new AC tech went up to the air handler in the attic, he took photos and showed us that the new unit had not really been installed properly. (The photos also showed a mess that was left behind in the attic.) America's Pride preference for installation of the air handler had been to improvise and use a lot of tape, rather than take the time to get the correct parts, like the correct straps for the unit. The valve on the new air handler also needed to be replaced. Bottom line, we had to shell out an additional $2800 for someone else to fix the mess America's Pride made. Money that we should not have had to pay. Frustrating and extremely disappointing to say the least. read more

My home warranty company had this company out over the summer to fix my AC problem. They sent a man named, Darrell. He was arrogant stating, "I have a masters in air-conditioning so I know what I am doing." He clearly did not know what he was doing. It took him 2 visits to our house and all he did in those visits was install a fan motor. The problem continued and I had to get my warranty to sent another company to fix Darrell's problem. He had the fan installed upside down. A 5 minute fix from another company and the AC worked great the rest of the summer. Now, it is winter. I ran my heater on Saturday. During the night it started running cold and we woke up to 51 degrees inside. The warranty sent me Darrell, again. I didn't recognize him at first. He told me my unit had an intermittent short and until it showed itself he could not do anything because my unit was working fine. I had told him that in the day it heated but at night it did not work right. He ignored me on that, and left. My warranty sent another company for a 2nd opinion. That man spotted the problem. The fan wire, the same one Darrell had to remove to change the fan motor, was in the wrong spot. It needed to be on the defrost board. Problem solved, but not by America's Pride. I can't speak for all their work they do, but having someone like Darrell who caused a problem which I had to pay to get resolved is not a sign of a good company. They claim to be there for veterans. I am a Navy Veteran and I did not feel respected by the man nor did they give me good service. Both times I had to lose two days work to get the air and heating fixed right. read more

My warranty sent this company to repair my ac system, Jason diagnosed that the air handler is leaking, they can't fix the leaking air handler problem, and suggested that the air handler needs to replace, and need some "necessary " modification and charge me a huge amount of $3295 out of pocket fees that the warranty company Doesn't covers. I went through my home warranty for what turned out to be a messy wiring issue on one of my roof units. Jason from America's Pride had come out previously for a fall system check and I requested the company over others they wanted to send. I am really happy I did. Jason went above and beyond to solve the issue that a previous company had missed completely. I will definitely stick with this company. If I could give 0 stars I would. Our warranty company sent these guys to us. A/C was down again the next day. No one at APC answered our calls so the warranty company sent a different company (Collins) to actually FIX the unit. New company showed me the broken parts and said APC never looked inside the compressor unit, or ignored the broken part. New company (Collins) fixed it in 10 minutes. I was driving and was hit by debris that flew out of one of their trucks, a BIG pallet jack. I was able to follow the truck and signal to pull over the two guys in the truck were very apologetic and realized that one of the straps had broken and that's how the pallet and other things came flying off. They were really nice and gave me a business card and told me to call their boss for the damages on my car, guess what I have left THREE messages so far and no call back! If I could give this place zero stars I would... Old Republic dispatched this company to my home at the end of June because my air went out. It took almost a week to get it back up and running- in the meantime, I paid for hotels and dog kennels just to survive. Then the air wasn't completely fixed correctly and another call had to be made which they claimed was a "new" issue. A new issue means another service fee for me! Then that issue was never completely fixed and they cancelled my service call even though I called and told them I need them back out there. Now here I am in August and my air is out again!!! I was very concerned when the home warranty company assigned this business because they had so many one star reviews here. But, after looking closely, most of the one-star reviews had a connection to the home warranty company. Tell you the truth, I hate OneGuard as much as anyone else. (You can't find a worse business anywhere). But putting Americas Pride down as one star for a OneGuard issue is assigning blame to the wrong company. In my experience, Americas Pride was very responsive and professional (with one exception, mentioned later in my review). They were the fastest service company to ever call me back after a referral from OneGuard. Jason told me he'd be out on Tuesday in the morning sometime, and at 8 AM he was standing at my front door. He had another technician with him, and the two fellows were polite and professional. He almost immediately identified the problem -- a bad condenser on the outside unit. While his price on a part like this is outa sight (in comparison to what I'd pay on eBay or Appliance Parts), it's not uncommon in the HVAC business to rack up a very high retail price on parts. They replaced that part and then went the extra mile, even after the cool air was blowing out of the formerly broken unit, to go into my attic (on a 100 degree morning) and check out the air handlers and their installation. He made a couple of suggestions to me there, which I can take care of later. The guys were in and out of our home, with repair completed, in just under an hour. We were very impressed and we'll call them again. The only issue I would have, perhaps knocking this down to a 4.5 star review if that were possible, is that the guys don't use the little booties like other companies when they come in your home. We're kind of fussy about our flooring and would have appreciated that extra step. All in all, this company is not worthy of so many one-star reviews that have more to do with the el-cheapo insurance company, OneGuard. They are a 4 or 5 star business and should be treated like one. My AC went out in the middle of summer with two toddlers at home while I was on deployment. Had America's Pride come out several times because that is who my home warranty was contracted with. AC worked for a week or so and continued to blow warm air after that. I have an 1800 sq ft home with one AC unit so I didn't think it'd be that complicated to figure out and fix. I'm home now and AC still does not work, the inside of my house is 95 degrees and I'm having to take my two young children to stay with family. I'm very disappointed because I expected a lot more from an American company and a lot more pride in their work. I'm sure there are some customers with good experiences out there but this was mine. read more

12-28-2018 We have One Guard as a warranty service for our home. We had no heat and needed help ASAP. The serviceman Darrell and his assistant Manny, from America's pride cooling & heating arrived yesterday promptly. Darrell was very quick to figure out we needed a new motor on our heat pump & when I mentioned to him we also had heater leaking out water on various occasions in the recent past, he suggested heater needed a air gap pipe. So today they arrived again promptly & Darrell replaced the new motor & also attached an air gap pipe. The HVAC tech that came to my brothers house installed a condenser fan motor and never checked the rotation. It was spinning backwards so the cooling still wasn't working correctly. Another company came out and switched the wires so it worked correctly. But now that it's winter and he needed heat something was not working and my brother called the home warranty and they sent the same guy out. He said that there was an intermittent short but that everything is ok now. Guess what the heat still didn't work. So my brother called the home warranty company and they sent a different company out and they found that this companies tech had installed the fan wire wrong and they put the fan wire on the defrost board correctly. So basically this one HVAC tech made multiple problems with his lack of knowledge. He didn't even know how to troubleshoot a defrost board or he would have found his mistake. I am writing this review because I am an HVAC technician and guys like this make all of us look bad. read more

Americas Pride - Peoria, AZ. Spent a ton of money having service work done, new coil, etc. so I made sure to ask about the warranty, yes of course they said!! So, less than 2 months later, upper condensate drain running, air blowing barely cool and a huge bill because it's running all the time since it's not adequately cooling. We've called and called and called, they don't answer their phone and they don't return calls, at least not the ones that need them to come back. Finally had to give up and contact another company, I will have to pay what should have been covered by Americas Pride - sorry, I don't get the "pride" in their name and obviously don't recommend this company at all!!!! read more

Technician did a very poor job evaluating the problem. Never checked to see if the system was cooling properly. At 4:00 , he told me he had another call to make. Tried to say the problem was related to other issues just to get out of doing a proper service. I challenged him and found a problem with the compressor. Gave an inaccurate report to the warranty company. If you need warranty service, I would not let them send this company out to your home. Terrible waste of time and money. Don from America's Pride Heating & Cooling did an excellent job and provides excellent customer service. Our AC went out on Friday afternoon so we put in a request with OneGuard for service. I received a call from OneGuard within 15 minutes and 30 minutes later received a call from Don. He showed up on Saturday in order to fix the issue. Unfortunately the coolant he used did not perform as expected and we discovered the issue was due to leaks in our attic so he had to return. Probably the worst HVAC service I have used. All the staff is amazing - in the office and the technicians - but responsiveness is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. I had an AC issue and the home warranty company referred America's pride. The first visit was easy to schedule. Then crickets - two weeks later I called and they sent someone out the next day to install the parts. Two weeks and 5 calls before they even scheduled the install. So they finally showed up and did the install. Never diagnosed the underlying issue, so had to call them back. Takes a week to schedule and they finally showed up only to need a part. Two weeks later, without a word in response to my voicemails nor answering the phone attempts, all of a sudden my parts just arrived the time I actually got a rep on the phone. Issue was fixed, but they have a process issue that lets their amazing staff down. Everyone I talked to was excellent, but they weren't able to deliver a reasonable level of service. I get that it isn't possible to stock every part under the sun. BUT it is possible to have a bit of process to actually get the part and schedule the follow-up. My second issue is that they are terrible about answering the phone as others have mentioned. it takes 3-4 dials before someone even answers (and this was in the AZ winter!!!!, I can only imagine in the summer). It shouldn't take 5+ weeks and 4 visits to fix a furnace. read more

After having to access the attic to check the pan I noticed that they made sure that they cleaned up the floor from the debris that had come down from the attic. I would absolutely not recommend. The service guy came twice to my house and could not determine what the problem was. I tried to contact them a third time to come back out. Over the course of 2 days I left two messages and called several times but no one ever returned my calls. I contacted my home warranty company to find out how to proceed and they said someone from Americas Pride would call me back right away to schedule. Still never heard from them. As a result we ended up with a different AC company who came out the following day and quickly diagnosed the problem. I recommend America's Pride. My AC went out on Saturday during extremely high August summer temperatures (110-115 degrees). My house heated up to 94 degrees without AC. I had to relocate temporarily with 2 dogs and a bird and was desperate to get the AC going again. I called my warranty company and they scheduled America's Pride to come out the following day on a Sunday. The technician was on time and professional. The issue was diagnosed within an hour. I was provided with options, but not high pressured to go with any one decision as that was my choice. I had a 30 year old AC unit and opted for a new system. America's Pride worked with my home warranty company to get me a fair deal on the upgrade. Two days later on Tuesday, two technicians came to my house and spent an entire day installing a new system to get me up and running. The technicians were on time, professional, cleaned up afterward, hauled everything away, explained things I needed to know about the new system and thermostat, went over the warranty with me, and just did a great job! read more
