On June 20, Joey and Emmett from BELL AIR CONDITIONING installed a new 4 ton TRANE A/C split unit. After installation was done, the compressor made some rattle noise during the very first run, and shut off after a few minutes. Then JJ Dominguez came to diagnose the problem. He found out that TXV valve was faulty. The next morning, June 21, JJ Dominguez replaced TXV valve with a new one. Unfortunately the unit only ran for a few minutes before it shut off again. To make story short, BELL AIR CONDITIONING replaced the whole condenser unit with a new one that afternoon. And the unit runs well ever since. I give them all two thumbs up for their works under AZ summer heat, the knowledge and skill they have and five stars for BELL AIR CONDITIONING for excellent customer services. Also thanks to Westley and Chris for making all the process happened within 2 days. UPDATE. On June 29, I found out that the exhaust tube/chimney of the furnace was pushed upward about 10" when the new furnace was installed, damaging the metal flashing and broke the seal where (rain) water can get in. See picture. Now I am waiting for response from Bell AC. Will update this review later. UPDATE: On Monday, July 1, Jake from Bell AC came to inspect the damage and temporarily repair the broken seal and will send a roofer to complete the repair. UPDATE: Today on July 10, after a long wait, Jake came to fix the furnace flue reluctantly, hesitantly and showing some attitude as well as made an accusation about no trust on him and Bell AC which already sent an receipt for 97% payment of full contract value stated that "... I either have no such concerns or have found no discrepancies ..." and "My signature here...." which I have never signed that document. Now I have to wait for the roofing company to fix the metal flashing of the flue on the roof with a expectation that no rain comes before it fixed. He gave me the options to get a new motor or take a chance with my current motors (3zones) ... I appreciated the openness of my options. We decided to replace all three zone dampeners because of same issues in the past.. The home office worked with us... it's definitely cheaper to order the motor's & replace yourself but Brent was much quicker then I would be and gave us great comfort knowing he would return to do any other adjustments. We recently got a new AC unit, just in time for the heat to start. Our rep was Joe, who was friendly and knowledgeable about every question we had. The install was done by 2 very nice young men, Armando and Joey. I know they had said it would take one day to do this, but I was still amazed at how quickly it was installed. Then, Joe came back for the inspection, which got the thumbs up. And, finally, Doug came to take care of the drywall, which was done within a few hours. I became concerned when our 23yr old American Standard heatpump started running upwards of 30 minutes to reach 70°. My husband and I decided we should probably look into a new unit. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mother had a new AC unit installed and they left the manual under the heat exchange. She turned on her heat and the manual caught on fire. Her entire house filled up with smoke and ash continues to fall out of her vents. No one followed up with her so she had to call today. Some guy told her that's where manuals are kept. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! the customer service is beyond horrible and my mother could have died. What if she turned her heat at night and went to bed??? Unbelievable. I will continue to leave reviews like this until this issue is resolved. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Still have not heard from them. This is AWFUL customer service. Took all material and garbage with them. Professional and knowledgable. During install, we asked them not to install our thermostats. We have Nests. Of course - a month later - one of the two nests stopped working. In an effort to avoid having to two two different apps (nest and nexia) we decided since we have these thermostats sitting on a shelf - let's just use the nexia we got. Called expecting a charge - but they happily came back out to install our thermostats. Every time chatting and discussing the office ladies were plesant to talk to. So this will be part 1 of my review. This is just the quote process, which to me, is the most important. Josh, the quoting tech, arrived when he said he would. Excellent. We chatted about what my strategy with the new unit would be. I told him that warranty and the company that installs the unit will guide our decision. He went up and looked at our current unit, which, by the way runs perfectly, however, it's 15 years old. I told Josh that I want to look at a more efficient unit now, rather than wait until the summer, when I would be captive for what's in stock and at peak season pricing. He gathered quotes for the two Models I told him I'm interested I. And the. Called his boss for any discounts, above and beyond what he already gave me. So, my wife and I will review our quotes and see if we go with a new heat pump or go with mini-splits. Stay tuned for part 2 if we decide to go with Bell and the heat pump. read more

Let me start by saying I have had 1 good experience with Bell Air in the past. Technician was able to come to my house fix the AC with no problems. Now this last Technician came to my house with one goal in mind. And that goal was to make as much money off of my 17-year-old unit as possible. He wrote an invoice for a new gas valve and was going to charge us $683. He told us a unit at that age is a money pit. I told the technician I hope he knows what he is doing, because we just paid $700 to get the heater fix. He responded by saying, it does not matter if the technician knows what he is doing. That is when he told us a unit as old as ours was a money pit, that we will have to continue getting it fix because it is an older unit. Well, guess what? He was wrong. After he left, my husband was not happy with the answers that technician gave us. He, therefore, had someone we trusted to come and look at the unit. There was nothing wrong with the gas valve. It was a circuit board that needed to be replaced. The board was replaced by someone other than Bell Air Conditioning. The heater is now working without any problems. I am now wondering if the first technician that came out last March to fix the heater fixed the right thing. I think I only used the heater maybe 1 or 2 times after the first repair. During the month of March in Phoenix AZ, the heater was not needed no more than a couple of times. Now, with it being December in Phoenix, it is time to turn on the heater. Only problem, my heater is not working. We will never call Bell Air Conditioning again or refer them to anyone. read more

Yesterday a Bell tech came out to give estimate on AC repair. My AC is probably not as cool as it should be and blower stays on too long. Right away he starts giving me a pitch for a new system which I was interested in after next months bath Reno and when the weather is cooler so I don't have to move my family into hotel. He did his assessment and concluded 2 capacitors needed to be changed and freon. I expected this, that's common repair. The shocking part was the cost of a capacitor $359. I looked up American Standard price list $69. RIP OFF! Apparently he was trying to bump up the repair to force me into buying. Had he been ethical I would have hired for repair and in the winter he could have replaced the AC and heating unit in attic. Don't use the coupon. They don't want to service. I really wanted to go w Bell AC because they are local because I see their ad on local billboards and when I called to set up an estimate for a new unit they were super nice and quick. Whomever sets up appts and takes calls is great. After I got the email estimate customer service went down hill though, spoke w Dan over email who did not seem interested in answering questions and even seemed annoyed that I had them, he sent me a couple of matter of fact statements of how they would do the work period. I of course had more questions and someone called me and left a message and said if i had questions to call them...I had already asked the questions but guess I had to call and repeat them, not sure, never heard back. I am thinking they have plenty of business and do not need to deal w annoying people like me asking many questions and comparing notes w all 5 estimates I got before making a decision. All other 4 companies answered all my questions via email or call after their estimates. Bell was the lowest estimate by a couple hundred, maybe thats why they may think some will just pick them no questions asked, i don't really know, I just know my experience was bad in that aspect. They seem to me at least on paper and in reviews like a long standing company that does good business, but not in my case. Very disappointed. EDIT: it seems I cannot reply to owner response so doing this instead. Thank you for responding. I am truly just looking at options right now and I do not know what I want or need yet. Was told a part under warranty needed replacing since our unit was making a weird noise. The labor was around $300 for this part. We held off. My AC/Heater quit working one day so I called a few companies and had them come out and troubleshoot the problem. I also had them provide me with a quote for replacing the whole thing. The first company said that a circuit board was bad and wanted over a thousand dollars to replace it. They said that I would be better off going with a whole new AC because there would probably be other parts going bad which were hard to find for my unit. They're quote was insane over $12,000 and they bugged the heck out of me by calling me 5 to 8 times a day worse than a car salesman. I called Bell Air Conditioning and set an appointment for a quote. Dan called me when he was 30 mins out and arrived on time. He looked over everything and gave me an affordable quote. He was professional and patiently answered all my questions. We set up an appointment for the job and two of his techs came out to do the job. That morning the crew got stuck in a huge traffic jam due to a fatal accident caused by a wrong way driver. Someone from Dan's office called to advise me that the crew would be a little late. The crew called me a short time after that and gave me the exact time of their arrival. These two techs were a couple of the nicest guys you'd ever want a meet. They were very professional, respectful, and hard working. When they finished they cleaned up just great. They briefed me on the new unit and thermostat and answered all my questions. We were totally satisfied with the work and the new unit.
