The story is my wife and I were in Sedona this past December, had an issue with our vehicle and took it to Flagstaff to get it checked out. We were told that it was essentially shot and scrambled for options to get it fixed. We called about a dozen places and of them all Flagstaff Auto Repair hands down had the best price, time frame for fixing our vehicle, and overall service. We got our ride fixed and were on our way without missing a beat - Alex and Flagstaff Auto Repair were a life saver. But there's more. Fast forward to February and the issue comes back. We're hundreds of miles from Flag and getting warranty coverage through the local dealer wasn't an option. I don't know what's going to happen, we couldn't afford to repair or replace the vehicle. Then, while I'm at work, I get a call from Alex with a solution: he comes, gets the vehicle, takes it to Flag, gets it fixed, and brings it back - Within a week. And he made good on that. So, I'm sitting here with my ride in the carport doing better than it has in months. So, if I am ever in the vicinity of Flagstaff and need auto repair again, Flagstaff Auto Repair is the place I'm going. Our BMW broke down after 5pm on a Thursday, with a long drive home scheduled the next day. It seemed likely we'd be stuck all weekend waiting on a part. Instead, by Friday morning Tino had found the part in Tempe, arranged a courier, and had his team ready. By 4pm Friday, the car was fixed and running beautifully, and we were on the road home.

It was a $10 part that cost North of $1,000 to replace because of where it is located. I was really happy to find a competent shop that knows Porsches. They were able to get the part from LA in a couple of days and fix it right after that. They also found an unrelated issue and notified me. I want to share the experiences I have been having with Randy's Downtown Garage. I brought my car…read morein because my fuel door wouldn't open. Randy's said the fuel door and spring mechanism would need to be ordered and they charged me $546 to fix the door. I trusted them (my error for sure) and didn't research the estimate they gave and had them do the work. I later began to look into the costs and found that the price for a fuel door for my car was at the most $112, while Randy's charged me $245. Furthermore I learned when I dropped by the dealership that it wasn't necessary to replace the fuel door to fix the clip and spring that were the problem. In fact, Randy's charged me for those parts separately as well, at a rate more than double what the dealership cost. The dealership offered an estimate of $201 to repair the fuel door, a full $345 more than Randy's charged. I wrote a civil letter to Randy's and their owner, Harry Curtin, asking for a refund of the difference between what they charged and the more customary charge of $201. Two months later I have (of course) not heard nor received anything. I would strongly advise anyone to be very cautious with Randy's Downtown Garage. Certainly don't accept any estimate from them (as I did) as reasonable. I have not found them to be an honest business.
