I was recommended to Randy's Downtown Garage, but unfortunately I had a really bad experience with them. At first, I called just to ask about the price of an alignment. I was told it would be $150. When I brought my vehicle in, I was told more work had to be done before they could even do the alignment. On top of that, the representative never disclosed there was a $150 inspection fee just to look at the car. That was never mentioned until I was already there. In the end, I paid almost $1,800 just so they could complete the alignment. They told me the job would take 2 days, but it ended up taking almost 4. I honestly don't even think they worked on my vehicle properly. I was not given a copy of the alignment results (before and after), and the car is still making noises when I drive. I even got into an argument with one of the guys there because instead of answering my questions, he tried to diminish my vehicle by saying it had "a lot of problems." Funny enough, there was no problem taking my $1,800, but suddenly my car was the issue. On top of that, I called the shop at least seven times just trying to get a straight answer about whether they could even work on my vehicle. Every time, I was told "we don't know right now." That kind of response just shows how unprofessional and careless they are. The communication was terrible. Calls were ignored, I was not allowed to speak with the manager, and after multiple attempts I never got a call back. Really bad experience -- I do not recommend this shop. The service was unprofessional, communication was poor, and I felt taken advantage of. No transparency with pricing, delays with repairs, and no proof of proper alignment results. I regret going here.

First time Giving Randys Downtown Garage a try and glad I did ! Made an appointment to drop off car on a Monday morning and was greeted By Andy and the lead service tech . Went over some final concerns for my car and agreed we needed to purchase a part I did not bring . Only a two day wait but Andy saved the day by calling me on Wednesday . I'll definitely give them another try in the future for another repair . All in all friendly staff and quality repair but I do recommend making an appointment only and possibly waiting a day or two longer for the repair to be properly fixed . Thanks guys ! Repairs done : Diagnostic Inspection, Remove and Replace Alternator, Accessory Drive Belt, Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly x2. Post thoughts : car drives great again no horrible noises or whining from the failing alternator and worn belt .

I called these guys to ask about working on my classic car so I say "I hear you guys work on classic cars?"he goes "I try not to." (ok, i'll play along) "yeah, they're a pain huh?" "it's just so hard to find parts." "well, would you be interested in doing a tune up, carb, and distributor adjustment?" and the guy just says "No." As a small business owner, I'd never talk to someone like this and would have words with any employee who did. It's not hard to be like "I'm sorry sir, I appreciate you giving us the opportunity but we don't work on anything pre-fuel injection anymore but I'd recommend XYZ shop, here's their number." No big deal, they don't work on classic cars, but then A. learn how to speak respectfully to customers and B. how about stop using classic cars in your marketing and misleading people?

Everything you want to avoid in a mechanic. I was told the clutch replacement would take 3 days. My car was in and out of their shop for 3 months. Every job went well over the quoted time, and they never communicated with me that the job would take longer than expected. They tried to charge me $1000 for remedial work that should have been covered by the warranty. A month later, after putting a second clutch in my car tried to charge me to fix a "broken" clutch pedal assembly that needed no such repairs (confirmed by 2 other shops). They broke part of the steering assembly and some trim pieces during their repair which I now have to pay out of pocket to repair. They are often rude and either unknowledgeable or just like to lie. One of their techs also told me that that pilot bearing isn't a part of the clutch assembly. Unsurprisingly the problem with my car was the pilot bearing. Personally I want to go to someone that knows how the part they're replacing works. They finally gave me a refund after 3 months of wasting my time. I'm not the only one either. I've heard of 4 others who had negative experiences just in my time talking to others about the bad job they were doing. Took the car to Auto Rehab and they fixed it in less than 48 hours and saved me $600.

$200 for an oil change. Not very happy I don't know why they have such high reviews, it is so expensive.

I typically work on my vehicles myself but with my son now at NAU and me in CA, it is impossible to do this.

Steve who says he is the manager of R&A Import Auto just sent a message trying to play victim and…read moreact like he didn't tell my mother she needs both catalytic converters replaced because of P0420 and P0430 codes and saying it didn't happen at his shop when it did. He kept interrupting her and wouldn't listen when she asked what the underlying issue was and cut her off and said no they just need to be replaced. He also said there wasn't an elderly woman there at the same time who left without her car because it wouldn't start. Yes, this happened in front of me and she was furious and I immediately decided I was hesitant about him and after his conversation with my mother by the car in front of me I knew for CERTAIN he would not be working on any vehicle we had. It's really not difficult to understand that if you're going to behave that way, you're probably going to get a bad review for it especially when someone drives up from Camp Verde and the simple answer to make sure that doesn't happen is to behave like a professional and not act that way in front of potential customers. My mother has a Toyota Sienna. I am in a Reddit group with lots of skiers, campers, and snowboarders that's over 300,000 strong and I was on the phone with one of them when this transpired at this shop. Everyone has bad days, but what really makes a difference is the amount of integrity a person has and whether or not they tell the truth when they're called out and that didn't happen here. The parking alone at this place was an absolute nightmare because it was on the corner and almost right at the light, but this refusal to take responsibility really makes a strong point here and it isn't good.
