Somehow,I smacked both differentials on the van. The more serious one was the front differential - which has held. The less serious one was the rear differential - which started leaking again. It was repaired in Reno. American Spring did the right thing and paid for the repair - so I'm good with them. I would try them again. read more

I went into American Spring and Alignment to request they machine a specialized part for a bicycle rack. The part was essential for preventing the rack from potentially sliding out of the hitch. I met with Jake who reviewed what needed to be done--he promised it would be done in 4 days and sure enough it was on time. June13-2024 On our trip back east, we encounter the pothole on I 40 west of Flagstaff created potholes created problem with tie rod which caused our steering wheels to shaken. we contacted American spring and they got us in on the front end alignment machine found out the damage to our front end , which required two new tires for the front and a new tie rod. The parts were not available here in Flagstaff so they had to expedite the parts from Phoenix for the next morning. NEGATIVE STARS! I took my 1973 C20 4x4 truck to get quote for a front axle installation. Scott told me that he "HAD" a good axle that he would sell me. I agreed on a price of $500 plus $100 installation plus any parts needed. Three months later, and excuse after excuse, the truck was still sitting in front of his shop untouched. We'll get back to this truck later........ I also had a UTV project that needed a set of seat brackets welded up. Scott agreed on a price of $200 for the 4 brackets. A week later I dropping off the UTV project that was loaded on a small 10 foot trailer, along with the new seats for the fabrication. Well over a week later when I call to see when I can pick up my UTV project, Scott tells me that he didn't have the steel to complete the job, and if I wanted it completed sooner than later, I should buy the steel and bring it by so he could do the fabrication. SO, hoping the job would get done "sooner than later", I bought $56 worth of steel (that I thought he would reimburse me for) and brought it to Scott who said I could come the next day to get the brackets and take it all back home. The next day I went by around 4pm and found that Scott had assigned this custom welding job to the moron who literally SWEEPS THE FLOOR and let him try and weld for his VERY FIRST TIME on my UTV seat brackets! Well, you can guess how that worked out!! SO, Scott tells me "OH WELL" and says I need to get more steel (the nerve). BUT Scott promises that HE himself will weld the brackets when I bring in more steel. I should have walked away then, but I figured I would get reimbursed for the steel when we settled up, so I went back and bought more steel (another $56) and dropped if off that very same day. The next day, Scott calls and tells me to immediately come right over get my brackets and settle up because he needs the "room" in his shop. When I arrive, he hands me a bill for $425, which is DOUBLE the quoted amount and an extra $25 for "SHOP SUPPLIES"(which I guess is the wasted welding wire and gas his FLUNKIE used up)! I protested, to which he stated he would hold my project trailer and seats until I paid for the brackets. I asked to see the brackets and found that he had welded pieces of RUSTING metal into the design of the brackets see pictures) which would have made a High School shop practice weld look more professional!! Oh, and NO discount for the steel ($112 total) After 2 weeks of arguing daily with him about the shoddy welding and the cost doubling, I relented and paid the money to move forward with the project (in the end, I never used these poorly constructed brackets). When they pulled the trailer from the crowded shop, they broke the Bearing-buddy off and bent the fender on one side! Scott said, "Not RESPONSIBLE for damages.". His idea of a parting GIFT I guess! .........getting back to the 1973 truck, I also told him then and there that I was coming back to get my truck the next day, and that I no longer wanted him to work on it. The next day, before I arrived to get my truck, Scott called and said that he installed my "NEW" front axle (and against my demand the day before not to) and bring $950 with me (way more than the $600 agreed to), to which I stated, "take it back off and put mine back on". Scott cursed and yelled "FINE!" then hung up the phone. About an hour or so later, I get a call from an employee that I had befriended, who explained that my truck was being "Dragged into the street by a forklift". I was already almost there when I received that call and arrived a short 10min. later to find my truck sitting with the front brake discs on the front axle sitting on the pavement where the truck had been dropped by the forklift (I had new rims and tires for the truck, which I had told Scott I was bringing to move my truck). I then noticed several small dents on the drivers side of the truck that were made with a heavy pointed object. Luckily, I had documented the condition with pictures when I had left it there (3 months earlier), so I called the Police and filed a Police Report for the damages and document how they dumped my truck in the street. Scott appeared at his gate, yelled some obscenities and "Flipped me off" (see photos). Shows what a professional businessman (Actually PRISON CONMAN) he is!! We were on our way home from South Dakota about 80 miles north of Flagstaff when a spring on our 5th wheel broke. Limping into Flagstaff and finding our campground we started a search on the internet for a place to repair our 5th wheel. The following morning we called Tim @ American Spring and he said bring it in. Bless his heart. After some conversation we decided to have all 4 springs and hangers replaced. What an absolute nightmare I have had with this company the past week. I paid a great deal of money to get a lift put on my four runner and while the end product is good the experience was not. Let me start from the beginning... I spoke to Scott about a 3" lift he suggested a few different lift kits, and the one I chose was from ICON a complete coil over suspension which is not cheap. He quoted me $595 for an installation and alignment. I waited a month to purchase so I could receive a discount on Black Friday. When I spoke to Scott about purchasing the lift he ordered directly through the company and honored the 20% off which was very nice of him; he did this to receive his commission I am sure, that's fine I still got the discount. I then dropped off my vehicle that he said would be done in one days time. I asked when I should return to pick up the wheels in order to have my new tires put on them (I ordered from discount he needed the tires to complete the alignment), he told me two hours and I let him know it would be about four before I could return which he stated "should be plenty of time and they will be ready". I then showed up four hours later to find the employee working on my vehicle was not expecting me and did not know I needed the wheels, so I had to leave again and return 40 minutes later. This is ok I know things happen not a big deal. Then I dropped off the tires around 4 for the alignment and he stated they would finish up the following day, even though I was told one days time. Again not too big of a deal, I did have to make arrangements to get to work the next day. The next day I never received a call about my vehicle; I had to call them to find out whether it was done or not. When I did call I was informed that the front tire was rubbing and the front fender would need to be shaved down. I asked about the lift if it was in fact three inches like we had agreed upon and he told me it was a 2.5" lift. I became frustrated and told him I had wanted three inches and the information about the product on icon's website said that the size tires I bought would fit on this lift. He put me on hold looked at the box (not my actual vehicle) and told me it was a 3.5. I pushed him to get information asked if he had adjusted the lift at all before installing it because it is a 0-3.5 inch lift and asked what the company sends it adjusted at. He assured me it was 3.5", however I still called ICON to confirm, they didn't answer at this point and I left a message. I put my trust in Scott and told him I would bring my four runner back the next day to have the fender shaved off. I asked to pay him for the lift and he told me it was a $750 installation fee, thankfully I had the first quote of $595, and he honored it which I appreciated. I felt like he was trying to charge me more after losing commission on the full price of the lift kit, but what do I know? Yesterday I dropped off my vehicle an hour and a half later I received a call stating it was done, I was almost to the shop when I received a second phone call from Scott stating it was not done and he was not sure why they called me. I am frustrated at this point but agree to come back the following day (today). I again had to make initiation and call the shop to find out if my vehicle was done I pod over the phone and at planning to pick up after work. I then received a call from ICON and was informed they set their lift at 2". So I received a 2" lift after agreeing on a 3" lift if Scott did not adjust the lift after reviewing it from the factory which he stated he did not. I called again, left a message saying someone needed to do physically measure my lift and make sure it is 3" before I pick it up tonight, no answer no return call it is two hours after I left my message at this point. This is all frustrating because Scott is not in tune with what is going on with his shop he has too many projects at once and doesn't pay attention. I should definitely not have to call the company to find out what the coil over is set at, and I shouldn't have needed to shave my fender and spend the extra $100 in labor to have this done, if the lift had been set right the first time we could have avoided this. All of these mishaps lead me to believe Scott doesn't care about the people he is providing service too but only about making money, he needs someone to keep track of the information at the front desk or organize everything better, something! I do not recommend this shop for these reasons and I am terribly sorry I have to bash this local business, but be weary. I would like to point out that I increased my stars to 3 because even after the headache Scott was very accommodating and did get my vehicle right in the end. He also called to make sure it was right. So although there is a lot going on just make sure to have very direct communication if you come here! read more

I have an old 1970 Chevy C/10, and American spring replaced my carburetor, installed new fuel lines, installed new new fuel pumps and filters, and adjusted the points on the distributor. I busted a shock over by the Grand Canyon and drove to American Spring and arrived late in the day. Scott was able to get my part ordered for the next day. I spent the night at the nearest hotel and part arrived on time just as Scott said. Was installed and back on the road shortly afterwards. The local garage Pit Bull dog was sweet as can be. American Spring & Alignment - Wow...totally tacoed - Tires Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

Went here to get alignment and brake bleed on my 2012 Subaru imprezza wrx sti. Brake Bleed: They got done and I'll admit the brakes worked better (brakes barely worked when I brought it in) but still didn't feel great (you still pushed the pedal a ways down before it engaged). However he said they were good to go and I'm not a car guy so I took him for his word on it. Took it to another shop to get the tuning done and while they were test driving it they said the brakes needed to be bled again. After they bled the brakes for the second time I noticed a considerable increase in braking power. Alignment: They got done with the alignment and said everything was good. Once again I'm not a car guy so I took their word for it as everything seemed pretty good. I took it to the tuning shop and during their test drive they noted it was still pulling to the right. I didn't put too much thought into it as it felt ok to me (only drove it a couple miles since the alignment). I then went on a road trip with my friend to palm springs after getting the car back from the tuning shop. During this long trek I definitely noticed the pulling to the right (as I constantly had to hold the wheel during the entire VERY long drive). Tire Rub Reported: When I took my car in to get the alignment and brake bleed I also mentioned I was getting tire rub when I turned my wheel hard to the left. I even noted that the tire shop had stated that the distance between the back of the tire and the wheel well was different between the two front tires. He stated he has seen this in the past and is not abnormal to not be the same distance for both front tires. After the alignment he said the tire rub issue should not be a problem. Once again the tuning shop I took it to had a look and they found a piece on the front suspension was in bad shape and was causing the issue. They replaced the part and no more tire rub and the distance between the tires and the wheel well is the same for both wheels. After getting back from my trip to palm springs I stopped by American Spring and mentioned that both the brake bleed and alignment were not sufficient. I noted that the other shop already did the second bleed on the brakes (as they said it wasn't safe to drive with the brakes being that bad). I also stated the alignment still needed to be redone. There was not immediate apology for the poor work or talk of refund. I had to continue the conversation and state that I should at least get a free alignment (to fix what they never completed). He said he would do that but to be sure to give a 3 day heads up before I brought it in. Keep in mind when I was a paying customer he was able to get my car in immediately but now I need a 3 day advanced notice. Also he never offered a refund for the brake bleed (not even partial) which I had to pay for again at the tuning shop. To top all this off when he was performing the brake bleed and alignment on my car I was stuck there for 4-5 hours and they didn't even get it done properly. So wait all that time, pay the money and still didn't get proper work done for all that time. I'm so thankful that the tuning shop (because I did a lot of work on my car through them) offered to do the alignment for free so I didn't have to go back to American Spring (I'm very thankful to them for that). I will say the people at American Spring are very nice but if they don't do the job right and then aren't will to give any kind of refund then NO THANKS. I would not suggest this place to anyone. read more

I have worked with this shop a couple times, and each time I feel like I am the lone project that they just don't have time for. The first was a simple fix on a lower control arm bracket along with an alignment. I scheduled a time with them and dropped the truck off. This first part was just an inspection to see what kind of work it would take to fix it. I dropped it off at 8am, and then went to get breakfast since my appointment was at 8:30. by the time noon rolls around I called for an update, and I was told it hasn't even been in the shop. I then call around 2 saying I need the truck back and that I would really like to know what they found, and come to find out they still haven't even pulled it in the shop. Finally it got looked at after I sat there and waited. Took 5 minutes to pull it in and give me an estimate. I reschedule for them to actually work on it. Same deal but this time it was actually pulled in the shop at my appointment time and worked on. Awesome! Later on I bring another vehicle in for a simple alignment. I call and schedule a time, and then drop off the truck. same thing happens but this time they don't even work on it themselves, they send it off to another shop for an alignment! took well over half the day for an alignment, and they didn't provide any details of what Happened. I bring it back the next day stating that I would like the paperwork for the alignment so I can prove that they did something, giving them the benefit of the doubt. So I sit in their shop for a couple more hours for them to send it off to yet another shop because they couldn't find the paperwork for the original alignment. I got it back and the steering wheel was more off than before. Overall I would not reccomend this place if you need your vehicle done on time. they do have a good shop rate and I feel that if they do actually get to your vehicle, they do decent work. I am not happy about how hard it is to get anything done in a timely manner though. read more

This place was good about putting a lift and new wheel/tires on my vehicle, because they made good money on it. Any work thereafter, including maintenance on the lift and wheels/tires is a nightmare. They will put you off, extend the service time requiring multiple visits, owner does not stand behind his word or work, and the entire workplace is in disarray. They do not call you to let you know any status, you have to make the phone calls to them, to check on your vehicle. Please do not go here if you want any work done in a reasonable amount of time or at a reasonable price. I feel like the owner only pays attention to where he can make the most amount of money. read more
