I enjoy their breakfasts which are plentiful and delicious. This night four of us ordered goulash dinners, a fettuccine dinner and a burger platter. The goulash I was told was very good and flavorful. It looked really nice. The fettuccine I had was comparable to many Italian restaurants and the serving was actually bigger than I was expecting. Salads came with the dinners and they were out of oil and vinegar or Italian dressing so we went with Ranch. The burger platter was the star. It was plated like a picture, perfectly cooked with fresh crispy fries and a cole slaw my hubs could have had seconds with. He thought it was that good. The restaurant was decorated in a Summer like theme and everything was clean and well lit. Our waitress was pleasant but never came back for any refills or to check on us. Still we will go back and try some of their other dinners.

Looking things over, I was surprised that most of the menu was dedicated to breakfast offerings or tex-mex, with just a couple of hot dog choices. Regardless, I opted for a coney dog, Chicago dog, and onion rings, with a water to drink. Before tax and tip, my bill came to $12.51, which definitely felt pricy. There were only two other tables in use when I arrived, so the kitchen had my food ready pretty quickly. Unfortunately they forgot about the onion rings, so my waitress had to re-order them. My coney dog was fine, just indistinguishable from any of its brethren I have eaten over the years. The Chicago style also tasted very average, but was at least more visually appealing. Both were over-priced at $3.57 and $4.97 respectively, especially given their sizes. At least the onion rings were hot and plentiful. However when I went to pour myself some ketchup, I discovered the lid had been put on incorrectly, as it shot as much ketchup out the side as it did the nozzle. Had the bottle been rotated 90 degrees when I squeezed it, I would have looked like a GSW victim. Every single staff member from the hostess to the servers were so super sweet, friendly, and accommodating. We came during their 50th anniversary so they were a little busy but the wait was pretty short. Their buffet was so good. They had so much to choose from. A salad bar, different meat that was absolutely delicious, just a bunch of comfort food all in one place. How can you beat all you can eat comfort food?! The staff were on top of changing out all of the food when the trays were empty too. The servers even wear clothes from the time period and the restaurant itself is exactly like a barn which gives a great, beautiful rustic feel. Be sure to check out the little gift shop too!

We have greatly enjoyed National Conferences in US from Boston to San Francisco, and it is a joy to attend the Sons of American Revolution Conference at Sauder's Village in Archbold. Always something about hotel lobbies, fireplaces, and good friends that is satisfying. The Friday night buffet is BBQ, and following a week of Great Smokies's dining, we were eager to enjoy "German style" meals. Brisket was better than southern; pulled pork had no flavor; ribs were burned; great salad bar; very few veggies. Locals love this place and we recommend. Neat and different ambience. Servers are first rate. Large parking lot. Older couples are attracted to buffets.
