Wanted to check out Miss Lilly's since new ownership took the plunge and stayed open during Covid. The food was very good. The menu had dinners, sandwiches and breakfast items. Specials were on the board. We had the hardy cabbage soup and very good sub sandwich. If you like pies this restaurant has them. The cherry berry that I had with a cup of coffee was delicious. Several booths were filled with patrons when we arrived. The place is good size. The tables and decor looked clean. The only waitress was friendly and very efficient. The prep area needs to be hidden and the carpet replaced, but some details take time to do. Try Miss Lilly's for the good food. read more

As a disclaimer, we know in 2020 that everyone is shorthanded. This place was incredibly slow for two sandwiches and an order of fries. Waited over an hour. Server was attentive, friendly and kept us updated(they had to remake a club sandwich with no mayo, as ordered). The club sandwiches were very good and the homemade pie (strawberry rhubarb) was delicious but the crust could have been flakier. Owner was verbally rude to our waitress in front of customers, which was very embarrassing for her I'm sure. We thought she did a great job. More stars would have been granted if cooking was quicker and owner was friendlier!!!! read more

in on a recommendation from a local business owner and pretty much satisfied with a unique take on the ultimate brunch sandwiche': the Monte Cristo :-) sign on the door says masks are required to enter but after being seated it's a whole nother thing entirely. not so unreasonable I guess for dining and visiting at socially distant tables but y'all needs to cover before getting up and moving around. just saying. found an out of the way table and settled in to iced water and thinnish hot black coffee (anyone else prefer thick, heavy coffee or just me?) asked for and received a biscuit and some honey to pass the time while waiting for my foods. yea biscuit! :-) sandwich comes out open faced with two yolky eggs on top of a stack of meats with a pile o' taters beside; almost looks too good to eat except it's near to lunch and I've had no breakfast... so I poke the yolks and add a couple blasts of hot sauce and begin knifing and forking up bite-size bites drizzled with mapley syrup, trying not to soil my shirt so early in the day... potatoes are cooked a little past perfect but still soft and moist and seasonal as is typical of northern Ohionian cuisine ;-) oh the joys of sliced hams on french toasts topped with a cheese or two. as with a few other things, when it's good it's great, but when it's not so good it's still not bad... my meal was quite good. read more

Lunch at Miss Lily's was recommended to us by another store owner on our recent visit to the area. They followed all the social distancing rules that were in place on that day for the most part. The food was adequate, but nothing stellar. What I found interesting was that one of the tables that they had open for patrons sit at was right near the cash register we're people would stand when they ordered carry out. Not the ideal situation. I will be in the area again later in the summer and will give then another chance. read more

I will never again go to this restaurant. Ordered takeout yesterday and they forgot the salad and the roll for one meal, the sandwich I ordered was a piece of unseasoned chicken breast on a hamburger bun with lettuce and tomato. No flavor whatsoever. If it hadn't been takeout I would've sent it back. The problem was I ordered an online menu but I guess it's not their current menu. Even though the sandwich had the same name it came without any of the extras that were promised. But the worst experience was when I spoke to the owner. What an attitude. She did not apologize for not giving the salad and she told me I hadn't been on their website so I can't expect to get what was on that menu she had no reaction when I told her the sandwich had no taste. Stopped at 8:30am on Sunday Morning, one couple already there waiting on order, got coffee promptly (Luke warm and weak),ordered omelet for myself and eggs and toast for my wife, took 20 minutes in an almost empty I restaurant ,waitress refilled my cup walked away ignoring my wife. When the food finally arrived, we were amazed to see you are given only 1 slice of unbuttered toast and mine was the crust! Food was ok once we got it but, it took about 40 minutes to get it and there were only about 10 patrons there. The server was offended when I asked politely how much longer. $2.25 for a cup of coffee and $4.25 for a piece of pie was a little steep, plus $1 for using a credit card. My husband and I ate here for the first time today. It was very nice. Great, fresh, made from scratch meals. The burger was very tasty, very juicy and they weren't afraid to cook it medium rare. The peanut butter pie was to die for....very flavorful, but not too sweet or heavy. And homemade, very fresh cool whip. We can't wait to try the breakfast and dinner menus. The service was top notch! Walked in on Mother's Day. Sign right in front states "Please Seat Yourself". Not all that busy - tons of open/available tables. We start to seat ourselves and this lady, with tone and attitude tells us "We have reservations - go back to the stand and wait for me". Um... WHAT?? My husband, as he's following her instruction tells her "we were just following what the sign says", and she ignores him. Guess what? I said to him "no way - we're outta here" and we walked out. So, lady with the nasty attitude, not only did you just lose a customer FOREVER, but I'll be certain to let everyone know that I come in contact with to avoid Miss Lily's as most of us aren't willing to pay for your nasty attitude. read more

We go to Miss Lily's often. We picked her to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Food is always great. We ask for Sandy and she is a wonderful server and very attentive to her customers. Tried a pie we have never had because they didn't have our favorite and it was good also. Their prices are good and I can never eat all the food. My family went there for breakfast this morning. We had a table of eight. There were a total of four tables with total number of people including my family 20. The service was very slow. 30 minutes to get our beverages and an additional 20 to get food. All food was breakfast foods and most of it was warm or cool when served. I received pancakes first and syrup and butter ten minutes later. I ordered eggs and toast also amd those came 30 minutes after the pancakes. The rest of the table received similar service. If they were busy or of this was dinner I might undersrand, but this was breakfast. I would expect service to be smooth and fairly fast. Too many other places to eat to put up with such poor service. read more

We had lunch there today with a group of nine and everything was excellent with the food, service and staff. The menu selections were varied enough to satisfy anyone. The prices are fair for what you get. Small touches in the way of herbs and spicing show their desire to make you want to come back, and we plan to. Best food I have had in a long time. Good generous portions. I ordered the Some Like It Hot burger. It has cheese, jalapenos, chili, and onions, also ordered the platter which includes fries and cole slaw. It was absolutely amazing. My wife ordered the Erie Canal burger, and it come on grilled marble rye bread, with grilled onions and swiss cheese. She also got the ppatter amd loved it. My MIL got the kids griled cheese with fries ajd cole slaw and she loved it. My son had the kids hot dog with fries. For dessert we had a slice of key lime pie and it was amazing. I'm visiting from California and my BFF brought me to Grand Rapids to walk around and do a little shopping. We stopped at Miss Lilly's for a late lunch. I ordered the roast beef sandwich special and my friend had the meatloaf sandwich. Both were excellent. I was a bit taken aback when this mountain of steaming gravy laden beef showed up. It might not look like the most appetizing meal on the planet, by oh my, was it loaded with flavor. Cooking from scratch is fast becoming hard to find, but this place was the real deal. We had great service, excellent coffee, and our strawberry-rhubarb pie was delicious. Miss Lilly stopped to ask how the food was and stayed to chat for a few minutes. First, we went on a Sunday over 4th of July weekend and arrived at 11:00am. This was our first visit and probably last visit to Miss Lily's. We stopped due to previous high reviews given on Yelp. The place was busy, but no wait and it didn't appear to be packed. My husband wanted breakfast, and after I ordered we were told that breakfast was no longer being served because they got swamped and the kitchen got behind and they had to stop seating people. Again, the place was busy, but it didn't appear to be packed. So, my husband and I just decided to split a sandwich and gayer tots. We had water and my husband had coffee. We ordered at 11:05am. My husband told me the coffee was bland, and didn't take a second cup. Our sandwich arrived at 11:45am. We were pretty stunned that it took that long for one sandwich. We found out that they had 1 cook. And while we were waiting, we noticed that at times the waitresses would stop seating people, then 5 minutes later start again stating that they "caught up". The waitresses were quite nice and apologetic about our wait, but it wasn't their fault. Miss Lily's is under new management as of 3/1/16. While the wait staff is good, the food delicious and generous portions, but if one has to wait 40minutes for their food, I predict this restaurant, like so many tourist towns in Ohio, it will fold. And that would be very sad. Whoever bought the place should have known over a holiday week end, you would have more traffic. I hope the new management figures things out quickly. read more

Not impressed. Overpriced food. We must have hit it at a tough time this Saturday because they were out of several food items. When the food finally got here it was okay..... pretty tasty. I did order my burger medium well and it seemed to be a bit too red inside but we waited too long already and didn't send it back. Some friends ordered pork chops but they also didn't seem to be done inside and they had to send them back as well. Salad bar was minimal but ok. They ran out of coleslaw, Manhattan beef sandwich, ran out of the beef noodles. Also took a bit longer than normal because they had a chef who was in training.
