The food is diner style but what a great organization to support! Waitress was very sweet. Hubby had bacon and eggs. I had the french dip. Portions were generous. Pop in. Support the legion!

3 egg omelet with grits and rye toast

I know you are wondering how a small dive cafe that doesn't really advertise can get FIVE stars from me. Well here is how. Just inside of the main entrance to the Legion Post you will see a set of double doors on the right. Enter breakfast and lunch heaven! They open early every day and close between 1 and 2. You don't have to be a member to eat in the cafe. My review is revolves around something I know well: breakfast. I could eat breakfast for all three meals forever! On the menu, there are many combo platters that have a meat, eggs, toast, and grits or home fries. Favorites include country fried steak, corned beef hash, and chipped beef or sausage gravy. They also have 3 egg omelets that have a range of toppings for. The omelets also come with toast and a side of potatoes or grits. The pancakes are huge and they taste awesome. I always get an order if blueberry pancakes to eat later as a snack! The next thing the do really good is coffee. I am not a fan of strong or assertive coffee because I don't want hair to sprout up on my chest. At only $1 they make a killer cup! Flavored creamers are in dishes on the tables! The last thing they do (and they do it really well) is take care of the customers. You can sit at any size table with your party like anywhere else, but here they have a long community table where you can join others if you are alone. The conversations are always flowing at that table! Sonia is the one who usually takes the orders and serves. Always greeted lime you are family, she automatically remembers your drink order. This may seem lime a small thing but in this large of an area where we never see people we know I feel pretty special when this happens. It is clear that a lot of the same people come every week. This should be a tip that the food is good. Ordinary American comfort food in a diner like setting is getting hard to find around here. Most breakfasts cost between 5 and 7 dollars. There are also breakfast sandwiches that are between 2 and 3. A full dinner will cost from 6 to 10 and a hearty sandwich is between 4 and 5. Try it once and I guarantee you will be back!

Talk about inexpensive quality food. Not sure why I've been wanting my time at diners, Denny's and iHop. Always saw it on Yelp with very good reviews but for some reason avoiding going. Avoid no more.

It's just great to find a place like this hidden right in front of you! I'd read about the breakfast/brunch thing going on at the Legion Post a little while ago but I just got around to checking it out last week and I've gotta say I just love it. Nothing fancy, nothing cutting edge and nothing yuppie about it, it's a simple café with such friendly service, simply tasty and nicely made food for an amazing price (check out the menu). They serve breakfast and lunch 7 days a week plus a special Friday Night Dinner. I can certainly say that breakfasts are filling and the coffee is hot, fresh and tasty! I've had the classic eggs/bacon/homefries/toast a couple of times now and it's just as good as anyone around here can do it, the difference is that it only costs $5.95 here and just a dollar for coffee with refills. The folks I were with had the chipped beef and gravy over a buttermilk biscuit and grits which apparently was really tasty, they were way too busy munching to give me details lol... This morning I had their special which was a super crisp but crazy tender Country Fried Steak w/gravy, 2 eggs/homefries/toast for $7.49, unbeatable! I came back for a lunch this last week and had a French Dip sandwich which was as satisfying as you could hope for, I intend to come back and try more sammies and entrees so I'll keep ya posted. Last nights dinner was a fantastic surprise so here's the deal. Every Friday night the chef decides what he's going to have as a special and they post a sign a couple of days ahead to let you know. This week they had Prime Rib au jus OR Chicken Cordon Bleu with homemade mashed or baked potato, veggie of the day and a warm dinner roll PLUS a simple salad bar, your choice of drink AND desert (can you say chocolate cream pie?) with coffee to top it off!! Prime Rib was $14 and the Chicken was $12, I mean Dang!! Again I'll say nothing too fancy but we left there feeling pretty seriously satisfied. All the customers are really nice folks who obviously have been coming here regularly as many of them seem to know each other, but they've made me feel welcome each time I've been. And the service is just unbeatable, Sonia has been there each time I've gone and she's so sweet, great memory about her customers, but all the folks working are kind and make you feel comfortable. I'm a liberal and not a fan of Fox News at all, and I have to say that the big screen TV is running it constantly but luckily the sound is down and it's easy to ignore, so putting politics aside I'm hands down going to be a regular for as long as they'll have me!

Perfect eggs with corned beef hash. So good

Great food with friendly service. Made to order and so fresh. Not greasy like most breakfast joints. My kids enjoyed the pancakes and French toast. We want to try the lunch menu because it looked so great.

Great facility to host events! Happy hour is cheap! Dinners are good food with lots of choices!

Double cheese burger, delicious! And super worth the price 7 bucks lol

Decided to check out the warrior cafe here at the American Legion, being it's so close to my house. Yes I will be coming back, the best burger I have had in a while, great family atmosphere, many friendly people and open to the public. Very affordable and super delicious! Wife and youngest had the Buffalo chicken wrap as well said it was tasty. I will have to come back and try the breakfast another time:)

The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.

Dear reader,…read more Firebirds was a thoroughly lovely experience and exactly the sort of place one hopes for when the evening calls for a proper cocktail and a comfortable perch at the bar. We sat there for the evening and had such a fun time, due in no small part to the bartender, who was super nice, genuinely funny, and clearly knew their way around a cocktail. A charming and commendable combination. The atmosphere strikes a very pleasing balance. It feels warm and inviting with a slightly upscale air, but never in a way that feels stuffy or overly serious. Everything felt polished, the service was great, and the whole place had that easy, settled-in quality that makes you want to stay for another round rather than rush off to the next engagement. I also especially liked the Seared Ahi Tuna, which was absolutely worth ordering and deserves its moment of recognition. Overall, Firebirds delivered a very enjoyable evening with good drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that made lingering feel like the correct decision. The atmosphere: The restaurant is spacious, and I like it when the outdoor area is open since it has a shaded setup and a fire pit. Otherwise, there's still plenty of indoor seating. The food: We started with the Korean Fried Chicken in the soy garlic flavor, which was probably my favorite part of the meal. It came out hot and crispy. We also ordered two rolls, the Double Toro Roll and the Double Salmon Roll. Both were drenched in a Japanese dressing or soy-based sauce, which caused them to fall apart almost immediately after picking them up. The flavor was overly sour and salty, making it hard to taste the freshness of the fish. Overall, the balance of flavors felt completely off. We also tried the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Bites, and to our surprise, the only crunchy element was a small part of the outer rice shell. Everything else was chewy and overloaded with mayo, so it wasn't a favorite for us. The service: The service was a bit touch-and-go throughout the meal.

The place looks new, the kind of place you wanna wear clean clothes at a minimum and not look slovenly. Outside sitting, full large bar, sports on several TVs above the center of the bar, and a lot of servers milling around here. Great lighting, not loud but not quiet either, just chill. We were starved so our eyes ate. Brunch was still being served till 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays so I grabbed the French Toast and the Steak and Eggs. My friend had allergies with gluten so she went with a salmon and some super salad dish. She was happy as all the dishes had markers for gluten free, food free, soul free, etc. Very helpful for all allergy infused humans. Great waitress btw. Fantastic service. Food came after some time, we requested for everything to come out on time. Steak and egg was okay but I'd go with the prime rib next time. The steak came out sliced with 2 poached eggs on top. The hash on the side was on point. Salmon okay too. Salad was okay but we should have added a protein on top. A little dry on dressing maybe but we could have requested more so that's on us. On the other hand, the French toast had me scratching my head. It was cubed challah bread but eggs was 0, zero, nada eggs on it. I thought I was eating croutons which would have gone great with the super salad dish thinking about it now. The French toast really bunched up my undies, French toast is my favorite breakfast thing you see. They explained it was prepped that way for allergy sake due to the egg. Well, I'm not allergic and never said I was, but my friend was but she wasn't eating my dish so why make it in this fashion. Overall, this experience was just okay. Nice environment and service but I realized how lucky I am not to be allergic cause if I have to eat French toast like this forever, I'm not sure what to do. Definitely not up to eating croutons with syrup.
