Mickey Mouse job. Exposed drain into open pipe. Smelled like sewer in my entire downstairs April '21 job
    Caroline P.

It has taken me one whole year to decompress before writing a review about my second house pex pipe install to prevent anger reviews. Some Background: I had my first one story house re piped with lex with this company. Paul came out for intisl appointment. Reviewed how the process would go and the patching aftermath. Moving along... Gilbert was the Foreman and supervised the entire project and it went beautifully. Due to my great experience the first time, I came to them again when I bought my two story house. Paul came. Checked it out and provided me an emailed estimate, nice and easy. Cool, going as planned. Then the not so fun stuff started to happen. Carlos was the Foreman this time. Very nice. Appeared professional and easy to take to. The work was done quickly which I liked but then after checking at night, it was one problem after the other. I literally had over 25 emails back and forth with problems and scheduling repairs through the office. Someone cut an electrical wire so my upstairs bedroom lights went out after hole cutting. They tried to say it was already like that but I told them no. It was not. They got an electrician to open the wall after patching and then fix again. Then, we had a horrible sewer smell coming out of the laundry room. Come to find the unprofessional care of exposed piping draining into the laundry pipe. Exposed without cover. They came back for that. Then my tankless water heater was leaking in my garage, the exhaust pipe I should say. Carlos then said I couldn't vent out from the roof like my old traditional water heater. Another hole punched to the front porch siding which now spits out hot water intermittently. Glad no one had gotten burned yet. Poor aesthetics where seals were done. Then some time later, I wanted to switch out my tub surround for my kids room, when they removed the tub, there wasn't even pex piping done where there should have been. I called the company again and had them come do the job they promised a couple months back which was not done. Endless calls, conversations with the office men was very stressful. It was to the point of crying. I am sure the feeling of annoyance of receiving and making the call for me was mutual. I appreciated the office staff still answering despite of my horrible experience and pissed off attitude due to frustration and exhaustion. Who would have thought this project would turn into a nightmare. You ask, did they fix everything that was wrong? Yes, they did. However, it was a very long process with a lot of emails and calls. Schedules and re checks which made the entire experience a bad one. If you were to ask if I would hire them for this, I would say unless Gabriel is the one in charge, NO. Big money spent for under par service. Again, I feel it is related to inexperienced foreman of someone who is just too over confident and ends up making lots of boo boos trying to cut corners. Sorry Ameri-Cal, this will be our final job with you.

The team of Luis and Gabriel installed my new hybrid water heater. Luis and his team were courteous, respectful, and professional. Hope this review brings them more business, highly recommended.

Daniel installed my new water heater today, and I couldn't be happier with the service. He was extremely thorough and never rushed the job. While replacing some valves, he discovered another leak from an old section of pipe and quickly identified the issue. He replaced the faulty pipe at no additional charge, which I greatly appreciated. Daniel was polite, professional, and patiently answered all of my questions, taking the time to explain everything clearly. He was also very careful while working, making sure to protect my walls and surrounding area when using a torch to solder the pipes. He kept the work area clean and showed great attention to detail throughout the installation. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work Daniel and Zach provided. Their professionalism, honesty, and quality workmanship made this a great experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a water heater installation.

Truly an Honest Review -…read more First off, The Water Heater Company fixed the issue with the pilot light on our Rheem Professional water heater, which had been going out after hours or days of use. This had happened in the past when we first purchased the unit about four years ago. At that time, I replaced the burner assembly and control valve, and the problem was solved. I never found out the exact cause, but it was fixed. Fast forward to today, and the same issue started happening again. Unfortunately, I was away on business, and my wife was home with the kids, getting tired of relighting the pilot every morning and sometimes multiple times during the day. We called The Water Heater Company, and their service and communication were excellent. After diagnosing the issue, they contacted Rheem and ordered replacement parts under warranty: the burner assembly and control valve. They gave us three options: replace the two parts under warranty, replace the entire water heater, or install a tankless water heater. Because this is a very expensive unit that otherwise works well, we chose to repair it. Here's my honest opinion. As a fellow tradesman, I understand that skilled work is expensive. Still, the labor charge of $800 felt very high for what was essentially a warranty part replacement. The first visit took about an hour, and the second visit took around 50 minutes. I understand there's drive time, phone calls, office staff, insurance, tools, and scheduling overhead, but it still seemed excessive. Maybe I'm looking at it through the eyes of someone who usually handles these kinds of repairs myself, but I was away for an extended period and needed the problem resolved. So I'm torn on the rating. Quality of work: 10/10. Professionalism: 10/10. Price: 4/10. In the end, though, I paid for peace of mind and have the issue fixed correctly than save a little money and end up with a possible poor repair.

He explained everything clearly and made sure we understood what was going on. It ended up not being a serious plumbing issue (thankfully!), but what really stood out was how honest he was. No pressure, no upselling -- just straightforward answers. They've actually done drain line work for us in the past, and experiences like this are exactly why they continue to be our go-to plumber. It's hard to find a company you can consistently trust, and we really appreciate the quality of service and communication every time. Highly recommend -- and definitely ask for Jesus!

The main guy, Irving was a blessing. He was customer focused, kept the crew working. He was always concerned about how we were dealing with the chaos around the 3 holes in our house, the piles of dirt in our courtyard. Always asking how we're doing. True asset to any company. Now the BAD...The actual plumbing work took 8 days. That in itself was overwhelming. To accomplish this work, the crew pulled up a portion of the luxury vinyl in the master bedroom, dug a good size hole, did the same in the master closet and a third hole in the guest bathroom. We understood why this was necessary. When the new plumbing installation was complete (8 days), the contract stated they would make sure everything would be put back the way it was before they started. It literally took 22 days before my 3 rooms were back to the original condition. The subcontractor they sent out to put the flooring back was not qualified. The plumbing company filled the holes and poured "some" concrete. They did not level it, which should have been the restoration company making sure of before laying down the luxury vinyl. We had 4 1/2 boxes of new planks for them to use if needed. As it turned out the flooring company removed more planks and made the restoration much larger than it needed to be. Consequently there was not enough of our flooring. After several calls to find our replacement luxury vinyl it was determined it was discontinued and none to be found. The Rooter Company agreed to let us pick a replacement flooring that we would be happy with. Since we were not happy with quality of work their installer performed, they allowed us to find our own installer. We did appreciate The Rooter Company making the situation right to our satisfaction. Was the company good? Yes as far as the plumbing repairs. Did they follow through with fixing the affected area in our 3 rooms in a timely manner, NO! My recommendation is before starting any work, get in writing a start & end date of all repairs. Make sure the subcontractors they use know what they're doing. I tried calling the CEO of the Rooter Company, I believe his name was Mark, left a message, would like a call back. He never called. Not good customer service. And for that reason, I will not recommend this company. Based on my explanation of our experience, it's up for you to decide to use them or not.

Then they said there was tree root discovered in the line. They quoted $13,000 more to resolve it. There were no options provided for hydrojetting and a liner. We do not know anything about plumbing, so we did not question the additional cost. We had to trust the techs providing the service. We requested a refund and the company offered $4,000.00. We feel that given the cost, we are warranted a higher refund. The company refused. Although the owner states that options were given to my mother, they were not. I, (daughter), was there at the time of the tech's explanation of the work and so was my cousin. The tech spoke to my mother in Spanish, my cousin speaks and understands Spanish, and she also stands firm that no options were given to my mother regarding the option of hydrojetting and liner. If there were options my mother would have chosen the lesser cost. We are very upset with the dishonesty of this company. So, make sure you research costs of other plumbing companies before using this one.
