So, these guys are amazing. This is gonna be kind of long so here's the short vereion. Fast quote, quality work and amazing speed. Their team arrived day 1 of a full repipe job including the main and the water was back on for the whole house by 6pm. This blew my mind. Up here in Lake Arrowhead, plumbers and tradesman in general were so backed up with work we were getting quotes to start 3 weeks out after a major leak into the foundation of our 1960s three story craftsman necessitated a full repipe of all the original galvanized piping. A day after I called, Toby drove out and laid out a plan for replacing everything with PEX (the good stuff too, Uponor with compression fittings), including digging out my original and heavily corroded main water line and replacing with a thick copper pipe. Even before the Military discount and the Yelp special they had going on, the quote for this came in very competitive. A few days after the original survey, Alfonso and his team roll in and somehow have the entire houses plumbing completely replaced with fully insulated PEX by 6pm. Even the main line was somehow replaced day 1, with the digging 30' down through my concrete driveway and everything. It was amazing to see. They even added a few extra outdoor hose bibs and a area for a future kitchenette and fridge ice maker line etc which were last minute add-ons. 10/10. Did I mention they insulated damn near every inch of that piping with half inch insulation? I am not worried about pipes bursting at all now. Other then the holes in the drywall and the cut out driveway sections.. by the end of the day you couldn't even tell they had been there in other sections due to how well they had plasticed everything off. After the work passed inspection by the county, the repair guys did a phenomenal job repairing the drywall in all 3 floors and matching the various texture well. They left it primed and super easy for us to paint, at our request (good excuse to change colors). The driveway took a bit longer to get finished due to inspector availability (I did mention how busy up here everyone seems to be), but once it passed they did a great job redoing the drive and it's been solid for weeks now through even the first freezing temps of the season. We went from only being able to use one shower at s time to being able to run every single faucet and shower simultaneously without pressure drop. If you're thinking of a repipe or need it like we did.. call these guys they are fantastic! read more

We recently had a bubble forming on top of the kitchen ceiling and were concerned if it had to do with the repipe that we did with Ameri-Cal few years back. Alberto came to our place to do the initial assessment of the ceiling. He explained everything very thoroughly and gave a fair repair cost. He did few tests to see the leak, recorded videos so my family can take a look at it (ultimately it wasn't the repipe lol) and gave us few options to what we would like to do next. Wow! This has been such a great experience. I 100% recommend Ameri-cal Re-pipe & Plumbing for all your repiping and plumbing needs. I was recommended by my electrician, who is doing a full electrical rewire of my house, to look into re-piping my water pipes while the walls were open. I agreed, so I looked on yelp and found Ameri-Cal repiping. I saw that Ameri-Cal had great reviews so I sent a message on yelp on a Saturday evening and I got a reply from Toby right away. That night, I chatted with Toby and he gave me a very fair estimate. And we agreed to meet at the house the next morning to walk through what needed to be done. Toby answered all my questions, gave recommendations, and provided a contract. There was no pressure, he left the contract, I told him that I would have to think about it, but it only took me a few hours to call him back to confirm the job. I just couldn't think of any reason to not go with Ameri-Cal plumbing. There are definitely a lot of details I'm missing, such as talking to Toby on the phone for an hour+ about installing a water softener, or different piping options. Or how Toby came on site several times to answer more questions, and check out the house layout. Now for the day of the re-piping, like I mentioned, I called on Saturday, and the job was set for Tuesday. The work crew was large, I'm thinking about 6 people. They meant business. They arrived exactly at 8am, they dug up the front yard to install the new main pipe before I even knew they arrived. It was pouring rain, but that didn't slow them down. They repiped my whole house, and added water spigots, water line for the refrigerator, moved the water heater outside the house, including moving the gas line and installing the water heater housing and exhaust pipe. Everything was done by 5pm. I had the work inspected by the city inspector a couple of days later and there were absolutely no issues. I opted to patch the hole made into the drywall myself, but the crew definitely cut nice and even patches to quickly patch. kudos to them! I just went to the house today and saw their stucco patch work and it was amazing. They went way beyond my expectations. Anywho, like I said. This was a great experience. So, like other reviewers, my issue was discovering what Ameri-Cal had done once walls were opened because of an issue. They came out to look at it and claimed that someone else had altered their work, but the individuals we purchased our home from assured us they did not touch the plumbing when they did their minor bathroom remodel. Further, they said they would not work on it because of liability issues but had no problem taking my $150 to come out and look at it, a $150 they told me could be applied to fixing whatever was wrong, so can't use the $150 for that. They pre-billed me and then took me calling again 4 days later to get a receipt, no detailed invoice of what they did as far as an inspection. Do not use this company. read more

Out of the six respondents to my request, this was the only place that identified the correct solution to my problem and provided a quote and availability. The others only provided one or two of these in their responses. My washing machine drain was clogged and Robert came early within the time frame provided and unclogged the drain, tested it both with and without laundry detergent, and also gave me tips on how to prevent in the future. How do you have a good experience when you repipe? It's do-able. Two slab leaks at the same time and I wasted no time in making the decision to repipe with Pex for our new home. My neighbor said she had an incredible experience with Ameri-Cal and I called that day, Paul came out the next day and two days later we had the crew in. Ryan from the office helped talk me off the stress ledge and was very thorough with the process. The team showed up on-time, and so efficient. They actually caught a leak that was also happening in a drain pipe - that would have been a nightmare had it not been seen and handled (which they did) and then they checked all other drain pipes to make us feel at ease. They were done with our 2800sq ft home by 2pm. The drywall team was beyond expectations -- just wow! Perfection. Both of these teams were a pleasure to have in our home. They treated us and our kids with absolute professionalism and they were kid gloving our home. Nobody really wants to repipe, but you can't beat the experience that Ameri-Cal offers and their pricing was better than anyones (I don't care what anyone says about the "big brand" repipe group, get your quotes if you need to prove it to yourself). read more

Garbage disposal did not turn on and could not reset. It basically flat lined. Then I noticed the leak, oh crap. Cloth towels came out to dry along with fans blasting to save the cabinetry. Ameri-Cal magnet on my refrigerator. Appropriately attired for covid safety. He diagnosed quickly, need new disposal, replaced and cleaned up. Job = Full house Uponor pex-A repiping (~$6000 / 1650 sq ft home where the water heater was just below the upstairs bathroom and close to downstairs bathroom so no crazy lines going all over... fairly straight forward) 1) No DUST!!!!! My biggest fear since I have 3 young children. After Day of tearing open the walls not a single dust particle or smell in my house. These guys took super special care to minimize dry wall dust throughout my house. Granted I made sure to ask they they pay special attention to this having had nightmare experiences in other states I've lived, but these guys were awesome. 2) Best PRICE! I had quotes from multiple companies and these guys came in as the best price, especially among the companies that have the highest ratings. Don't use a company that offers a lower price but have bad ratings... not worth it... select among the best companies always. 3) Dry wall repair was incredible. Couldn't tell the difference. I sent a message via Yelp and was able to have Alberto assigned to me and come out within 2 days to replace some leaky hose bibs I had outside the perimeter of my house. He arrived early in the morning (with a mask and gloves on), thoroughly explained to me what options I had within varying price ranges, and was very clear on the pricing/fees. He took the time to explain to me exactly what he planned to do, was finished within a couple of hours, and no mess was left behind. He did a great job! I can't 100% vouch for them in terms of the pricing and whether or not they are competitive with other plumbers in OC. I did not bother to reach out to another plumber for a quote and just decided to go with these guys based on their Yelp reviews. I'm going to assume the pricing was very fair if not great. I will most definitely use them again if I have any other plumbing issues, as well as recommend them to others as well. read more

He took my call and I was desperate for a water heater but after so many calls I forgot to ask which make and model and he told me to send pictures, I did and when I called back I got an answering service and they were short and not friendly. I left message asking him to call me ASAP and he never did. I emailed and called to cancel and today they showed up. No thank you. Toby your comment is simply to not scare Yelp reviewers away. I spoke to someone else on Friday and he couldn't even return a call after I called twice and then left a message with a horrible type of answering service. I asked for an immediate call back and that was Friday it's now Tuesday. We just bought a 40 yr old home that had original copper plumbing. The original owners had a lot of plumbing issues leading up to big insurance claims making it difficult for us to find an insurance co willing to insure us. We decided to go ahead and repipe before moving in. We got another specialist to give us a quote- Repipe 1. Word around town is that they do the most repiping in the OC area. But we were looking for a personable company too. Therefore we decided to go with Americal and we are so glad we did! Jonathan from Americal came out ON TIME to give us a free estimate. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Whatever questions we didn't realize to ask he answered via text and call later. He gave us a package deal and was very flexible. We really appreciated that. The crew of 6 or so also arrived ON TIME and got the repiping done in 1 day on a Friday. After inspection the following Monday they finished the repatch work in 1 day as well. They also kindly replaced our kitchen faucet at no additional charge. The foreman was very nice and didn't mind one of us "hovering" to ask questions. We were in the middle of a bathroom remodel when we found a leak on one of the pipes. We called Ameri-Cal and they were to come on short notice and fix the issue within about an hour. I originally went with this company after securing two other estimates because of their wonderfull Yelp ratings but now I think there must be something fishy. We were really UNSATISFIED with their service. Toby was super nice and available, however, they were EXTREMELY sloppy. So sloppy and rushed that we are really leary of the quality of work. We were told they would need a full day or possibly more to repipe but they were done by around 2:30pm and because it was Friday, they rushed off for the weekend and left a COMPLETE mess. In fairness, Toby offered to reimburse us for $200 housekeeping, but my husband was recovering from pneumonia so I spent the rest of the day and following day cleaning up the dust and debris that they left EVERYWHERE. By contrast, my parents went with AMA Repipe and said they cleaned up EVERYTHING and you couldn't even tell they had been there. And speaking of sloppy, they installed the fixtures so HORRIBLY, heck, if you can't put on a shower nozzel, how can I trust you know how to repipe a house? Check out the pictures. Even when they came back to fix it they still did a bad job (notice the gap, and it's already cracking). From start to finish this job took WEEKS and WEEKS. The City Inspector had to come out four times to make sure everything was fixed correctly. The worst part was Ameri-Cal NEVER set-up the final city walk-through as promised (and paid for). After the stucco was done, they just left us hanging (crickets chirpping). If I hadn't been told by a friend that I'd have a permenent lein on my house and couldn't sell it in the future with an outstandiing city inspection... I had to call and schedule the final walk-through myself. I would not recommend this company. Our experience was not good and NOT what we paid for (and they were not cheap either). UPDATE (4/19/19): In response to Toby, the sloppy work was done on old shower, not the remodeled one so no excuses and only reason I'm letting it slide. Glad you are making changes to the way you work to limit the dust and mess. That's why I posted this review, to make positive changes so kudos! Lastly. We didn't receive a final bill until about a month or more after the work was completed and we had scheduled our own final walkthrough with the city. My guess is you didn't want to deal with us anymore. Customers shouldn't have to call you and ask for you to do something that was promised in the contract. Had I not known to schedule the final walkthrough would you have done it? My guess is after that long of time, no. read more

I've had such a wonderful and grateful experience with Toby and Sam. I had requested a quote on getting my ring out of my sink - I was clumsy and it fell through the drain. I quickly googled YouTube videos on how to get it out of the pipe; however, even though it looked easy, I knew I wouldn't be able to do it. I messaged a lot of plumbers and they all offered to help me get the ring for price ranges of $100-200 which is just ridiculous, as my ring itself is only a $50 ring but it was a gift - I had to get it back. Toby replied to me on yelp and asked me to take a picture of my drain and he sent Sam on his way a few hours later at no charge. I was completely shocked by Toby's kindness and I couldn't believe how friendly both Toby and Sam were. Sam was joyous to help me with getting my ring back and really made my whole week. We had many companies provide consultations and Ameri-Cal was by far the most knowledgeable with competitive prices. We live in Anaheim Hills for reference. They were strictly repipe and that's what we needed. Paul is awesome and so knowledgeable. He was always available to answer my many random calls of questions b4 choosing to go with them. My husband felt he was genuine upon meeting him and wanted to go with him immediately. I contemplated between another company and when I told that other choice about Ameri-cal, he even admit they were great and had the best prices in town due to being so busy and equipped with many crews. Our repipe team was lead by Carlos- they were amazing, respectful and he's a young family man. We always appreciate the hardworking family oriented people. Our City Inspector said they did a great job. Our patch and texture team was fantastic! This team was lead by Philip- they took such pride in their work. All the painting companies we had give us quotes to repaint their patch and texture work gave compliments on their skills and said usually they see a bad job of so-called patch/texture after a repipe but that we had a real professional job. This meant we didn't have to pay extra to redo anything to blend in with our existing walls. We highly recommend Ameri-Cal. I bought a house and was doing some renovations before moving in so I decided to do a PEX re-piping to replace the existing galvanized steel water pipes from the 1960s. Tobey came out to do the quote and answered my questions during the consultation and afterwards. I got quotes from 4 other places and Ameri-Cal was the lowest at $4,450 with yelp discount (kitchen, two bathrooms, and three hose bibs). My contractor did the drywall patching so that brought down the price a bit. Here's a couple of notes about my experience so you know what to expect: 1. The crew that did my job wasn't the most professional. I had to tell them to not play music and they were messing around a good amount. 2. They opened up a whole in my wall that ended up being the wrong spot. The hole was like 4"x4" so it wasn't that big but I had to pay for my contractor to patch it. 3. They left excess piping in the crawl space. 4. Toby does the quote but he's not there when they do the work. There's a "foreman" who showed up a couple of hours after work started and a Crew leader. The Crew leader said he had limited English so one of the crew members had to translate, but the Crew leader's English wasn't bad so we were able to communicate directly. 5. Some of the things I went over with Toby didn't get relayed to the crew so be prepared to tell the crew about any special requirements. 6. Issues and questions will come up so I'd recommend that you be there during the work. It's been a couple of months since they completed the job. Hot water takes about 15 seconds to arrive. I've never had PEX before so i'm not sure if that's because of the PEX or my water heater. Overall, I'd recommend Ameri-Cal. read more
