This theater is nice I like the fact you can go online and preorder tickets and have the seats you want. What i do not like however is the fact that the seats are arranged so that if i am fully reclined I have to tuck my feet in when someone walks by this is a tall man problem i guess because I am 6 foot 2 inches tall This theater also takes the experience of going to the theater to be away from home to let's go home and watch a movie in the living room setting. My final point that I am giving this theater a 3/5 is the fact that yes although they have supposed comfortable recliners to watch movies with after a while of being in a position I noticed my back started to ache so i would need to readjust and the feel of the seats are cheap even though yes they are comfortable after the previews and halfway through the movie you will meed to get up and stretch. PS the seating is all one level so if you have a theater packed you can see the back of pthers heads very disenchanting when trying to watch a movie read more

I have never had a less than excellent experience at this theater. It's clean, the service is always friendly, and those seats are so cozy. And the concession prices are pretty decent too. Ummm YES. Having recently watched a movie at Regal, I can confidently say AMC Maple Ridge will be my new place to watch movies. I saw a movie here with a friend a couple weeks ago. How could anyone not like this theater?!?! The seats freaking RECLINE when you press a button. The seats are comfy, the cup holders are deep and secure, the whole place just feels good, better than it used to. New, fresh air! I love it!! When I came here, i did not have the pleasure of eating a snack, but I sure as hell will the next time I come here. And there will be a next time too!! Bathrooms are clean and new too. Well done, AMC, well done! Now let's get a couple more of these theaters in the area. They're as good as it gets!! read more

At first I applauded the switch to reclining seats at this theatre. After tonight, I may never return. Couples have caught on that they can spoon, make out, and perhaps go further still by pushing up the partition between their seats, turning them into one love-seat/mattress. When I go to the movies, I do NOT want to see couples behaving as though in their living room or worse, in their bedroom. I raised my hand to shield my face so that I did not have to see the couple going at it next to me, and the female insulted me. Because of assigned seating and a sold-out house, I couldn't simply change my seat to get away from this obnoxious pair. The movie was a long one and I lost the circulation in my arm, but dared not lower it for fear of irreversible visual trauma. Needless to say, there was still all manner of sound effects coming from them that were not appropriate to the film being shown (a psychological thriller). Titters, legs going over legs, the sound of denim being caressed repeatedly (gee, I wonder where that was going), etc. If Maple Ridge is going to have double seats that virtually become beds, they need to supervise and stop these no-class couples. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad these people have found someone just as lacking in a sense of public behavior and courtesy as they are. I just don't want to sit anywhere near them and involuntarily see and hear their distracting and disgusting antics. Let's not even go into the hygienic ramifications of this behavior. The best part about this theatre are the seats -- they are soft leather-like material and they recline to almost a bed. You'll pay a few dollars more for movies and snacks to have these types of seats, but its actually well worth it. The only thing I would reccomend is getting tickets way in advance; you choose your seats at this theatre when buying your ticket, so it would behove you to do so before going in. Online ticket purchases are quick and easy. Proceed to popcorn - get a cardboard box to help split your bucket and then proceed to butter and salt to your liking (yeah they give you full butter access). Then mosey over to the giant Coke machine, yeah the one with all the pretty buttons and all the flavors you can dream of. Select the obscure soda (or mix) or your choice and get going to your movie. Find the seats that you selected online, kick your feet up with the electric recliner and get all snuggled in to enjoy your film. I LOVE the AMC. For sure my favorite movie theater. read more

Buffalo doesn't have ginormous Bar and Lounge Cinemas like I've seen throughout Florida where you can have a full course meal with a glass of wine but thanks to the AMC remodel we do have reserved seating and plush recliner seats! (((Boom))) That's all you need to know... install the AMC app on your phone, book your tickets early, arrive whenever you want and enjoy! As far as food, this AMC offers the normal concession stand items and some hot items such as chicken tenders, pizza, mozzarella sticks (love these, they're the best), and chicken sliders. I usually don't eat concession stand food though so I don't have much to add in this area. However, I have seen people walk into this theater at 5:50pm for a 6pm movie and get turned away because the movie was sold out. This is not the kind of theater that you can just stroll in and expect a seat. AMC now has reserved seating so most people are booking their tickets online (AMC.com/Fandango.com) or through the AMC app on their phones. So keep that in mind, especially during the weekend. This is a MUST: Sign up for their Rewards Stubs card and use it when buying your tickets, also available for use through their app, or at the kiosk. You can also use your Stubs card at the concession stand to earn points. There is a yearly fee but if you frequent the theater regularly it's worth the investment of $12. The Stubs card waves your booking fees when you reserve your tickets ahead on their app and the points earn you free items at the concession stand and dollars that can be used to discount your purchases. I have used their app, it's functional and works well the only thing I don't like about their app is that you need to enter your full credit card information, there is no option for PayPal, however, you can use AMC gift cards as well. To use PayPal you will need to book on Fandango.com but you won't be able to skip the booking fee on Fandango.com. Depends what you feel comfortable with really but I recommend booking your tickets in advance online and when you arrive at the theater, use their kiosk for quick service. No waiting in lines and no more rushing to the theater with no guarantee of finding a good seat or multiple seats together. I love it! By the way, I did have a problem once with their app on my iphone and I called the theater right away and they took care of the issue. Customer service is quick and efficient. As far as I'm concerned, AMC is the only theater I will visit unless I'd like to watch a movie at the IMAX. Regal Transit Road is the only IMAX theater in the area and since I'm very picky about where I sit, I always have to arrive there over an hour early to wait in line for the IMAX. The AMC stole my heart with the recliner chairs and it's not just because I'm totally comfortable now, it's more because when you pay $10-$15 for a ticket you want to watch and enjoy the movie in peace without some moron kicking your seat or talking in your ear. This AMC location has been really good about making sure that people are quiet and comfortable. It makes for a more enjoyable experience. read more

So, there's nothing like Alamo Draft House in Buffalo, which is a shame, but I imagine someone will come fill that hole. However, this comes close, and is probably the best theater I've been to in the Buffalo area so far. First point: Reserved seating. I'm of the opinion that all movie theaters should have this type of seating. It is much less stressful to know where you're sitting beforehand, and so there's no need to get there super early. Second point: the seating itself. You get nice, comfy, naugahyde recliner seats, which have electronic controls. I like to adjust them so my feet are up, but I'm not like, completely lying down. Overall the movie viewing experience is great. The mix isn't too loud, the 3D is tuned properly, and overall it's a pleasant experience. The downside for me, is of course the food offerings. This is a complaint I have with most theaters nowadays, and honestly, they need to step their game up. I don't want nachos and chicken strips. Popcorn is about all I'll order. Get something healthy, give me the option to order a beer, and I'd be perfectly happy and I'd go see a movie every week. read more

While this isn't ordinary I felt it was worth posting about. Went last night to watch Hunger Games Mockingjay and all was going great. Enjoying the chairs, and my popcorn, when with 10 minutes left the theater loses power. We were shocked, then things start up after 10 minutes, and the movie starts playing with no sound. The girl in charge told us hold on and we will get it working. The staff look freaked out now, and people aren't happy as we wait around another 20 minutes to be told we have to leave and accept a readmission pass. The working manager was in a panic, and she obviously had no plan as 50 people were lined up ready to see the 12AM showing. I was fuming and felt it was best not to go off, go home, and write to corporate. I got a call this morning from Frank the GM and I explained that I felt it was ridiculous that we didn't get our money back on top of readmission, and he stated that they just followed protocol. He said the least he could do is give me guaranteed seats in the afternoon 2-3 weeks from now... i said so my only option is to sit through 2 hours again to watch the last 10 minutes, and he conceded with a yes... Also the tiny urinal bathroom, had piss all over the floor, pretty gross. I haven't had many bad experiences, but this was a sour one. Why couldn't you just show us the last 10 minutes! Luckily I found a cam version in Spanish and that will make due until a better version comes out. read more

Am I the only annoyed that you can't just go to an AMC movie on a whim? We have paper tickets that were given as a gift. Can't redeem online. Everybody gets to reserve seats online so walking in to the place is impossible. Have yet to use the tickets because every time we've tried, there's no seats next to each other. I have no idea what it looks like in the theatre but I've heard good things. Guess I'll have to wait until I have a chance to go to a movie that no one wants to see as soon as the doors open. read more

Can't complain too much: 3D experience, reclining seats, small theaters, the staff is alright, and not much can go wrong (unless someone is talking or texting--we can see your phone glow, you're not being subtle). I do prefer my movie experiences to generally be in IMAX 3D, so I'll go to Regal on Transit, or in the summer I love my dollar to stretch farther during the triple features at the Drive-In, but for those movies where you're not exactly certain the story is going to be great, but you really want the 3D effects (like 47 Ronin or Jupiter Ascending (which both were pretty decent films, if you have a significant suspension of disbelief; at least worth a one time 3D viewing)), this is the place my husband and I go! read more

I was never a huge fan of AMC theaters, the seats were lumpy, the theaters smelled of stale popcorn and then one day a miracle happened. AMCs nationwide began renovating and then all the sudden going to AMC was a magical experience. Let me explain. If you haven't been to the AMC theater on Maple than you need to. AMC has made going to the movies an enjoyable experience. The reclining lazy boy style chairs are the most comfortable way to watch a movie outside of your own home, and in some case they are more comfortable. The theaters seat less people now and it's reserved seating so you should buy tickets online before you go because sometimes it's hard to get seats near your friends. After going to this regal theater a few months ago I will NEVER go to a Regal again. I drive the extra 5 minutes so that I can see a movie in comfort. OH and did I mention that it's cheaper than most other movie theaters. They have 4.50 weekday daytime movies. WORTH IT. read more

I never go anywhere else for my movies. After they renovated a few years back and added lounge chairs to their theatres it was all over. Their prices might be a bit more than the Regal, but it's worth it for the experience. I've never had an unpleasant employee - even if they're not overly enthusiastic, they're never rude and always courteous. Lines aren't usually long, and if they are they've always moved quickly, in my experience. The seating is the BEST. You have a reclining, plush chair with enough space to tuck a small purse next to you and a cup holder. I've brought blankets with me multiple times and I've never had a problem. Basically, you get the full "going-to-the-movies" experience while being as comfortable as if you never left home. I generally bring my own snacks, and once I got bubble tea from Tea Leaf before heading over and they let me bring it in. read more

As most people have mentioned in previous reviews, this theater had a major overhaul. Although the number of available seats per screen have been reduced, there are very comfortable reclining chairs in its place. I really appreciate being able to reserve specific seats for a movie. It takes away the anxiety of needing to get to the theater extra early. I used the online ticketing system for all my purchases and had no issue. Even with the "fee" I believe it is still cheaper than the other large movie theater chain in the area. Also, when you reserve online just use the kiosks on the right side of the lobby to pick up your tickets. It is simple to use and rarely has any line! The bathrooms are on the smaller side. When I was last there, they were not the cleanest either. In fact, the drink area of the consessions was as bit of a mess too. All in all, the chairs are comfortable, theater is intimate, and tickets are not badly priced. Give it a go! read more

I could fall asleep in these comfortable chairs.... I recently visited this movie theater and I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness! When I walked in with my friends we were able to choose our seats for the movie showing (really cool). The girl working at the desk was very helpful when we asked which seats would be best for viewing. Although all of the seats were great, we chose to sit in the middle of the theater. Since it was a Sunday afternoon there was no problem in regard to the seating selection. When I sat down I felt immediately comforted and snuggled by the recliner. I noticed that the motorized reclining mechanism was a little noisy but it wasn't too bad. It reclined almost all the way back. I honestly felt like I was at home and could pass out. The seats are in pairs of 2 in case you are on a date and looking to cuddle. I would most definitely come here again! The main appeal of this theatre is the reclining leather seats that allow you to relax and enjoy movies as if you were lounging at home. The seats are assigned so you don't have to go hunting up and down aisles to make sure all of your friends are sitting together. The down side is that the large chairs take up quite a bit of room so there's very limited seating available in each theatre. It has your standard theatre concessions and the standard exorbitant theatre concession prices. read more

Like everyone else, I love the reclining seats. I also love that they don't charge a big premium on that. We had gotten used to paying $40+ for a similar experience near Seattle and for my husband and I to see a movie here it was around $20-ish. I would give this place 5 stars but I've been spoiled by big city theater experience and now when I see an ordinary snack bar that doesn't serve booze at the movies, I can't help but be let down. I know, talk about 1st world problems. "wahhhhh, my theater can't get me drunk". boo-hoo. I imagine Buffalo will catch up someday, they have reclining theater seats, booze must be next on the list! This is the city of the 4am last call, I know my fellow drunks will support me on this! I digress... It would be nice if they had some more dining options but that's me being spoiled again. One of my favorite theaters and definitely our go to when we want to catch a movie. It's very convenient to be able to buy tickets on my phone then show up and have assigned seats. The seats, by the way, are the best in the business. This theatre wasn't always "as good as it gets". The redmodeling has done them a lot of good. I used to drive an extra 15 minutes to get to the Galleria mall, and now am happy to know that the theatre closest to me is also the best. The chairs are now lazyboy type recliners, however sometimes can get a bit awkward if youre in an odd numbered group, because each chair is connected in the middle to another chair, to allow for cuddling I presume, and when you're seated with a stranger you are a bit close. You can now get seats ahead of time, which its a great feature so you know you have good seats before you get there. The food and drinks are a bit expensive, as are all refreshments at the movies. However totally worth it, and they now have the coke machines that has the 100s of options in it. Its a great theatre for all ages. read more

I have always like the AMC, it's near my home and has always been a decent theater. However, my opinion was raised sky high after their marvelous renovation. I have back problems that dictate I only see movies with run times of less than 2 hours, but that's only in other theaters from now on. The seats at the AMC are able to recline and aren't hard on my aching back, something that really makes all the difference in movie enjoyment. The raised prices are worth it. While the assigned seating does make it difficult to plan around sometimes without advanced preparation, I like that the AMC offers the Stubs program which allows you to pick them out in advance and pay via their app. I also find the ability to receive refunds on tickets very helpful, especially if you've already paid but can no longer get to the showing. As long as it's before showtime, you get a refund. You just have to call their customer service line, which is easy to navigate and swiftly refunds whichever card you used. I like the way they've set up the concessions, I really like those giant Pepsi/Coke machines where you can flavor your drink any way you want and have a really great selection of brands. I do agree with what another reviewer said about making people aware of what shows have sold out, but even at other theaters they just hastily make a sign to place up front, so I guess there's really no good system. I know the theater is still smaller than most Regals and as such doesn't have the same selection of movie titles, but if they're not playing a movie I want to see then I just go to the theater that is. Simple enough. All in all, a really great theater that offers a pleasant experience and makes it fun to go to the movies. read more

Even though they're overpriced like every other movie theater, I love the variety. It definitely has a different feel to it than other movie theaters I've been too. COMFY SEATS. Seriously I come here for the big red recliners. Everything is great and what you'd expect from any AMC theatre. The only problem I have with this AMC is that they have the AMC members only line open, but then they do not indicate that you are next when you are in this line. They openly say "next" and if you try to come forward you get many dirty looks from the people in the other line. The employees do nothing to help with this. They should either close the members line or be more specific about who is next. On a few different occasions the entire regular line was cleared before I got a turn. I understand this is a privilege, but for $25 a month I expect that if the line is there and open that they should use it properly. read more

Just watched the 6:30 Cinderella. Which we showed up for at 6:25. Granted, we purchased tickets at 11:30 online and picked our seats then. We need not worry about having a seat or whether we'd have to split the group up. Speaking of seats, these are amazingly comfortable recliners with plenty of room. And they're paired! So, if you like, you can lift the arm rest between 2 (the online seating chart makes it pretty clear where the pairs are located) so you can get up close and personal. Its a great, affordable, and comfortable theater you'll feel like your watching in the comfort of your own living room. And remember, holding hands is optional... This theater has recently been updated with great new seating -- comfy recliners with wide armrests and cupholders. They're so comfortable you might almost be tempted to nod off, but it makes the moviegoing experience a whole new level of fun. A few possible complaints keep us from being a five-star experience to me. First, you have to plan ahead more than I usually do when going to see a movie or you going to get no seat or a seat that so close to the screen that you'll end up with a neck ache. Reserved seating does make sense for the theater with so few seats, but it's an added level of inconvenience, especially if you need multiple seats together. (Note: if you are the kind of person who's good at planning ahead, you can book your seats online well in advance, which would solve this issue.) My second quibble with the theater is the price of concessions. Popcorn and sodas are expensive at all movie theaters, I get that -- but they really seemed exorbitant here. So that's a cost you'll want to factor in before visiting, especially if you're coming with a whole hungry family. On the whole, a nice theatergoing experience. I will likely be back! read more

Very seldom do we choose to go to the theaters to see a movie but our experience was not as good as Regal cinemas. Movie was great our experience here not so good. Reclining chairs were not that comfortable and I felt like I was focussed on the audio from a movie playing next to us. Overall really not that great of an experience. For the money I'll wait for the DVD release and own the movie read more
