The seats were great. Staff earned an A+ for customer service and food service. The food is fast-food style, but my sister enjoyed her Kids Chicken Tender Meal. It did seem odd to me that they had to bring your popcorn and my bottle of water to my seat instead of me just getting it where I ordered but I guess it saves on labor having the self checkout kiosk. Movie price was good in an upscale part of Phoenix, however the theater is old and in need of repair. I've been to better theaters in less affluent neighborhoods. I paid $16 for 2 tickets, plus free parking. Fantastic. The food? $90. The Burger was good and better than average movie food. I preordered in order for it to be delivered to our seats, which is convenient. You can go to the bar to order drinks, but you cannot order food once you receive the preordered items. Oh, just go to the kiosks you say? You mean the ones which have a long line and you miss parts of the movie? Once you get to the kiosk you're asked to submit codes and join clubs just to get popcorn. Forget this! I went back to the movie. Every movie should have easy access to popcorn. You can have easy access to alcohol. Why not popcorn? Not a good plan. read more

Purchased 2 tickets from Fandango in 07/21/26, for Spideman 3d with food at 07/30/26 at 10pm. When I was checking in they told me it was cancelled. I got no email saying this. I had to buy everything again in theater for 11pm one hour later for a regular non 3d. On the second purchase they never deliver our food. I wasn't going to miss the movie trying to find a manager to fix this. After the movie about 2am there was over there was no manager or employee to be found. Today 07/31/26 barely got the email about my refund on purchase from 07/21/26. Terrible experience, down $35 bucks for missing food and since we had to wait longer for showing I had to pay more for parking $16. read more

We decided to check out a "Screen Unseen" movie at AMC Dine-In theater. We were able to order the tickets and our dinner online, and then when you arrive, they bring your dinner to you prior to the movie starting. We ordered a cheeseburger and tots, and it was just OK. The theater seats are not very comfortable. They're kind of old, and they're not the ones that recline, but overall it was fine. The movie was a Quentin Tarantino film called One Spoon of Chocolate directed by RZA. It was an action thriller and a bit much, but I did like it. So if you want to check out a film and you don't care what it is, this is a great way to go and save some money! read more

Yikes!! This theater used to be so cool. It has been stripped of any life, and is very poorly run. They literally FORGOT to turn on the movie. We were all just sitting silently in the dark until way after the movie was supposed to begin, until my husband tracked down an employee. 20 minutes after the movie was supposed to start, they started the PREVIEWS instead, and made us sit through who knows how many. It was probably close to an hour late by the time the movie started. Then the screen was soooo dark that it was hard to even see what was going on. After giving the movie a shot for 30 min, we decided we were tired of being there and weren't enjoying it, so we walked out. Will not be returning, and I won't be surprised if this theater unfortunately goes under soon. read more

Customer service is good. The food overall is enjoyable. The spirit drinks are served efficiently and without much delay. The bar is clean and appealing. Food is quickly delivered to seat. One thing to keep in mind is that if you place your food/drink order too early, you may end up waiting longer if you are not at your seat. Parking is covered by scanning your ticket when leaving the theatre. Recliner chairs are available. Drink refills are available. Been here 20+ times, always a good experience. read more

For the location, I think I was expecting it to be a little nicer, but this theater definitely feels quite outdated. The reclining seats were nice, but they were kind of uncomfortable and lumpy in places. The swivel tables are a good touch for the dine-in aspect, but when used they cover the drink holders on the arm rests. We got to our theater exactly at show time and the lights were still on and staff were in the middle of cleaning so we got confused and thought we walked into the wrong one, but I guess they were just behind schedule. Nothing really that inconvenient, just kind of awkward? The payment kiosks at the front for food are also a little confusing because they say to pick up food in the middle counter, but they actually deliver it to your seat, so we definitely missed our delivery at first. The movie was fine, it was a late night showing of a a horror movie so it kind of added to the vibes. I think the biggest downside was that you have to pay for parking, and it was like $15? On top of the tickets... but maybe that's central Phoenix for you? I don't know if I'll be back personally, but it did serve the purpose it needed to serve (watching a movie). read more

I went to see a Christmas movie and was excited to try a different theater. I definitely won't be going back to this location. The seats were worse than a Spirit Airlines flight. No leg room, no recliner. The dine in table part made it impossible to get comfortable. People were on their phones scrolling social media during the film. Concessions ordered to the seat took FOREVER. I didn't get my drink until the movie was halfway over and I had to leave snd flag down an employee. $23 for a snack and a soda that I had to leave the movie to track down? No thanks. read more

We really enjoyed this theatre. It was bright and clean and I didn't mind that to purchase tickets or food you are using a kiosk. After placing your food order you must include your theatre and seat number and the food is brought directly to you by a server. I have never been to a theatre that does this so I thought that was pretty cool. I loved the way that the seats in the theatre were staggered. They were in smaller clusters so you do not have to walk through a long row of people to get to your seats. The building surrounding the theatre is undergoing construction so there is a lot of unfinished work and the escalator was not working. read more

It's been years since I've gone to the movies. Too many streaming options to justify the hassle of it. But...we gave it a shot at AMC and I was very pleasantly surprised. The theater is in excellent repair and everything is fresh and clean. The seats are outrageously comfortable and the food service was timely and pleasant. Too hot on a Sunday afternoon to be outside so we decided to opt for a movie at AMC. We got tickets pretty quickly online, even half an hour before the start of the movie. We parked in the garage behind the theater. Remember to bring your parking ticket with you to validate your parking before you leave the theater, there's a machine right at the entry/exit. The theater seats were comfortable and reclined. The sound was a little loud but I feel that's the case in all AMC theaters. The temperature was nice and cool. We didn't try the snacks but they had the usual, popcorn and sodas. Overall, a nice place to chill on hot Phoenix afternoons! read more

I realize that the last review I wrote for this theater was 13 years ago, so it's definitely time for an update... not only has the world changed a lot since then (hello COVID) but so have movie theaters. This one in particular has gone through many changes... As I write this review, I am actually sitting in the theater. My sister-in-law and I are with our four kids total seeing the 3d version of The Super Mario Bros movie... it's keeping the kids attention for now, but this new system of "order your popcorn and food from a kiosk before you enter the theater and wait for it to be delivered during your movie" is super annoying... We ordered popcorn and drinks 40 minutes ago and the movie started 20 mins ago and we are still waiting... In addition, while many other theaters offer reclining seats, this one does not. I usually don't mind the parking garage here as the theater validates your ticket, but today both the elevator and up escalator were out of service. Good thing everyone in my group could walk the stairs... After this experience, I will likely choose a different theater in the future. read more

This is by far the worst movie theater I have been to. Every time I have ordered popcorn from here it comes out stale and cold. One time, I ordered a chicken Caesar salad (dumb idea at a movie theater, I know), and they brought me a Cobb salad, and I can't eat eggs or bacon! I brought it back to the kitchen to exchange it when they asked me "if I had already opened the salad container" as if they were going to repackage and re-serve the salad I had already gotten my germs in. Besides the food, the theater is dirty and the seats are squeaky. I have also noticed every time I have been here that the volume of the movies is quite lower than other theaters, which is not great. Overall, this theater would be SO much better if we could order our popcorn from the front like Harkins etc. Lord only knows what's happening in their kitchen. read more

Staff was friendly.... Fandango is a bit of a pain with ticketing, but once that was settled as soon as we got there, it was smooth. The screens are terrible. Very poorly lit. The bulbs need to be updated. However, this theater is so close to me I always go to it as an A-list subscriber. I wouldn't recommend seeing your most anticipated movies here but for the occasional small movie it's decent. read more

First time I went to AMC Esplanade, I ordered popcorn from the kiosk. I didn't get the popcorn before the start of the movie and had to find an employee and explain the problem and show them my receipt which took about 5-10 mins before I could return to the movie. Second time I went was a Tuesday. Per stubs rewards I was supposed to be able to get a $5 small popcorn and drink. When I asked an employee how to get this he say they didn't offer this at the AMC Esplanade . When I checked the AMC app it does not say it's for specific theaters only. I tried to call today to get confirmation on this and no one picked up the phone Pretty disappointed with service I've had no other complaints at the other AMC theaters Got a quick response from management stating they would look into he issues. Fantastic 4 was awesome. I regret seeing it in this abomination of a movie theater. Parking is difficult to find, difficult to navigate, and criminally overpriced. THERE IS NO SNACK BAR the seats are very uncomfortable and there's a lot of distracting lights that are well above floor level. The theater I was in was like classroom small and I think maybe they brought projectors from another theater because the images were washed out/ dull. Luckily for us plenty of other theater houses willing to do better. read more

Was expecting a fancy dine in theatre especially for the price you pay. Seats don't recline, not so comfy,very little room between the seats. My seat got yanked down twice by people walking by. People behind us were obnoxiously loud and rude but that's not on amc. Also why charge a delivery fee when there is no option to pick up from the order counter. I went with my partner to see a movie but before we went to the bar to grab a drink and some food. The bartender was rude off the bat and refused to accept the state issued id through online services. She then proceeded to ignore us when I finally waved her over after 25 mins waiting for chicken tenders she said they were dropping the fries and it would be out soon. Finally after 30 mins waiting it came out looking disgusting. When we said we didn't want it she picked it up and tossed it on the back counter and starting speaking under her breath. The only word I caught was "asshole". Didn't even stay for the movie date night was ruined. read more

I like this theater because they bring the food to you and the chair are comfortable. It's one of those special treats for me. I don't have to eat first and I know whatever I order will be decent. They have a lot of self service grab and go items now, which is nice. If you want to get candy before the show you can or a drink. Isn't it ironic that the theater that is supposed to offer an elevated experience is one of the worst I have ever been to, including the super-saver $1 place when I was a kid?! The seating ledges CUT OFF THE BOTTOM and OBSTRUCT the view of the lovie so when there were subtitles (in movie WARFARE) they were out of view. The regular popcorn was around $11 and, though served with butter topping on the side, was SO FULL OF SALT that I could eat about 1/4 of it before I had to say "this is disgustingly inedible, no matter how expensive it is". This place is a good spot to see a movie and get the usual snacks/eats for your full theatre experience. We grabbed a couple drinks at their full bar in the lobby, service was great. We then moved over to the kiosks to order some snacks and it was delivered to our seats with no delay. That process is super simple and efficient. The film we saw had lots of dark scenes so it was impossible to eat at times cuz could not see food on plates. Husband's cold dessert arrived melted. It's nice to be back to seeing movies in theaters again! When I'm not at FilmBar, this is my new go-to theater. I like their reserved seating, validated parking, and helpful staff. They still take covid precautions, but you're allowed to take your mask off to eat or drink during your movie. I'm excited for when more movies are out so I can come by more often! The Esplanade is such a cute area, so this is a great date spot for grabbing dinner and drinks before or after your movie. They do serve food at the theater and bring it to your seat, but there are better nearby culinary options for the price. read more

This place has not improved at all, and has actually managed to get even worse. The theater is still kind of dingy, and the seats are not as comfortable as other chains. People talk loudly throughout the movie and there is never anyone monitoring to tell them to shut up. You can also hear the sounds of the movies in adjoining theaters, so quiet moments are spoiled by thundering explosions through the wall. The sound is still muffled and worse than any theater I've gone to. For being located in an upscale area, this theater is the opposite of upscale. Perhaps what really does it in is that they have also stopped food service from your seat. Now if you want drinks, apps, entrees, etc, you have to order from a kiosk in the lobby and they will bring it to you. The food comes in cheap cardboard containers and tastes as you would expect. It is still wildly overpriced. A plastic cup of wine is the same price as the bottle at Total Wine. The only thing this theater really had going for it was the ability to dine and watch (and even that was not up to standard with other chains that do this), and that has been limited significantly. Also, be careful with parking validation. Their machine wasn't working, so a woman working at the theater told me to push the button and tell the person from the parking company that the theater said to let me go. The woman with the parking company was livid and told me to tell the theater not to tell people that. Don't worry. I do not expect to come back. read more

This AMC needs an update. It has all the cool bells and whistles where you order your food and drinks at a kiosk and then go to your seat for the dine in experience. There was absolutely no one in the lobby to scan our ticket when we came in. The parking validation was really easy right where the person should have been standing. I came back out and found d someone about 10 minutes later and found an employee to scan my ticket. She was very sweet, but I don't think they were staffed for all the jobs that needed to be done. There were only about 8 movie goers in our theater. It was a mid day Monday. Our food came out, and they even gave us sides of butter for the popcorn. The seats were really disappointing, though. They are huge and look like recliners. But don't be fooled. Those suckers are just rockers. It needs an upgrade, but the overall experience was good. There is a ton of room between aisles. One reason I thought they had recliners. I have a service dog, so I wanted to chose a accessibility seat online. The seating map shows the accessibility seating on the 2nd row. I didn't want to be that close. the actual theater it is quite a bit back. I would say in a traditional theater, it would have been at least row 10. Luckily, all the seats had plenty of room for her to lie down and not be in anyone's way. We really enjoyed our movie and the experience was great. Just wanted the cooler seating that most of the dine in theaters have. There is an upcharge of about $3.50 to go to the dine in theaters, so I want to be extra comfy. After I fill my tummy with that yummy popcorn, I need that recliner room to be able to stretch the belly out. read more

I am shocked at how very much worse this theater has gotten. Our recent theater viewing was chosen so we could do in-seat ordering, but apparently you have to get up and order from the front and the food will be delivered after. A lot of their food was 86'd, but their boneless chicken wings were still available, so yay. When they were finally delivered, I was surprised to have to specifically request a fork and napkin. We went to watch a thriller, so it was REALLY annoying to have the lights on right next to every seat throughout the whole movie. Especially when the scene is almost pitch black. It really takes you out of the experience. You know what else takes you out of the experience? All the squeaky seats. Mine, the person in front of me, the person to the side. What's the deal? The tickets were more expensive, the parking makes the location a bit more difficult to access, and I honestly can't find a reason to return. Wouldn't recommend. We had two $20 food vouchers and two movie tickets. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, we weren't able to find the second email for our food voucher. The employee told us there was nothing they could do. Despite us showing them our receipt and having the first voucher. After getting out of line, we were able to contact Fandango customer service and got our second food voucher it wasn't delivered due to a technical issue. After waiting in line again, we put our order into the kiosk, and it wouldn't accept our code. A new employee once again told us that there was nothing they could do. I understand it's not their fault the system wasn't working, but we had $40 in food vouchers, you can't just tell us that there is no solution and we are stuck losing all of our money that doesn't really work in this situation. We asked for the manager, and when the employee went to her manager, the manager didn't even come over; she just had the employee once again tell us that there was no solution. Her reasoning was "we had another customer have this same problem earlier today, and I couldn't help them either." I asked if they could try to manually put it in from an employee kiosk, which luckily worked (I feel like that should be the first thing an employee tries, I shouldn't have to solve the problem for them I don't work there). Once we got into the theater, there were people using their flashlights to find their seats and shining it on the screen and into the audience after the movie had started. Once again, I know that isn't the fault of the employees, but as they were serving food, they walked right past the people using their flashlights and talking at full volume, and said nothing. Only visit this theater if you are ok paying extraordinarily high prices for 0 customer service and a poor movie experience. read more

This was a cool experience! We never get to the movies when at home so this was fun. We got our tickets online and ordered our dinner too. So I did it through the AMC app and it was super easy. The theatre was clean and comfy. Had reclining chairs with food trays attached. Pretty cool. Large trays too enough space for dinner, desert and a drinks lol. We had ordered our food and drinks when we ordered our tickets. They give you a choice of what time you want it to come. Our movie started at 9:20 and we chose the same time for the food to come. We figured will all the previews we would be able to eat until the movie started. Food came on time! And the food was great! We got a burger and some chicken tenders and they were actually really good. It was too dark to get any pics :( But overall a great experience! read more
