    Crème brûlée
    Neyda V.

I visited this restaurant several years ago while in France and was happy to return. We had the filet with fries and the duck with aligot -- both were delicious. They're known for their chocolate mousse, though we didn't try it this time. Nice wine selection as well. The crème brûlée was a bit subpar for Paris, but still very tasty. Service was good, the place is very cute, and it's conveniently located near the metro.

Steak cooked perfect medium rare/rare. Good quality.

Had to reserve this restaurant one day in advanced just incase they only took reservations or it filled. Nice fancier spot less than 1 mi away from my hotel. I got their steak with creamy cheesy mashed potatoes and bone marrow. I don't know the actual French name, but you should see on the menu that starts with beouf or something along those lines. I got to say the steak was cooked perfectly and maybe a little more rare, but it was not chewy at all. Great quality steak and perfect outer sear. The creamy cheesy mashed potatoes texture was nothing I've ever tasted. The creamy cheesy mashed potatoes fell apart slowly when you held it on a fork. Very cheesy and the creamiest mashed potatoes I've had. The flavor and every bite was as good as the first bite. The bone marrow was good, I gave it to my friend because I'm not a huge marrow fan. As for dessert, I got a trio of some fruit pastry, homemade chocolate mousse, and creme brûlée with a shot of espresso. All the desserts were flavorful and rich. Good texture and consistency with all. The shot of espresso came with the dessert and it was a great finish to an amazing meal.

Look no further into eating your best meal in Paris ! This guys do authentic and delicious food . This place was recommended by one of my Parisians friends and it exceeded our expectations. So far it's been our best meal . The meals look simple yet they have complex flavors that taste soooo good. The service is outstanding and the staff seemed to really enjoy working there. I highly recommend getting the lentil with bacon bits starter. My wife and I loved it. The stake with bone marrow is also delicious! You can't go wrong with their menu selection. Thank you & we will be back for more ...

As this is my husband's favorite restaurant in Paris, we made sure to eat here on my first visit to the city. I can see why he loved it. We went for lunch and sat outside to people watch. The waiter spoke English and kindly scoffed when I ordered a Diet Coke in my poor French. Turns out he wasn't offended by my French but by my choice of beverage to go with fine food from central France. He then helped my husband choose a wine from that region. I started with white asparagus and my husband started with his favorite, the warm green lentils with bacon and shallots. Another reviewer commented that the lentil dish could easily be prepared at home and I agree, but eating it as prepared by French chefs while sitting in the restaurant in Paris made it taste even better. For my main course, I chose the special from the day before, a pork dish, and my husband chose a sausage. Great food, attentive service and fabulous atmosphere. I'm sure I will eat here every time I visit Paris.

This place was FANCY. We were nearby and decided to have dinner here, and only found it it was on the Michelin Guide 2017 once we settled down. They have a good number of tables and both an English and french menu. The menu had lots of options including a 3 course option for 33 ish (don't quote me on that) euros. We ordered an escargot appetizer, roast duck breast with seasonal veggies, the duck on pie entree, an order of their famous aligot (cheesy mashed potatoes) and a raw cod and veg salad. They also gave us a bread basket, and some harder bread with a foie gras spread. The appetizer was somewhat disappointing becasue the escargot were pretty tiny and not too numerous. The main real estate of the plate was taken up by the salad greens. The roast duck with veg were good and it was a good portion. The duck on pie was very good becasue it had a large portion and had some salad as well, perfect for my hungry dad. My salad was really small but it tasted great and I wasn't too hungry either so it was okay. I liked the seasoning of the fish and the vegetables a lot. Aligot is really interesting because it basically tastes like mashed potatoes but it has a stretchy texture! One thing was our waiter took an ETERNITY to bring us the check. The servers were nice though!

I heard about this place from Timeout Paris, and thought it warranted a try with reviews touting its hearty, homey portions. I came here on Monday night unannounced, and was told that the restaurant is fully booked and I should come back another night. I spied with my little eye some empty tables, but the host looked surly and I didn't want to bother him. The next day, I made sure to make a reservation and I was seated at a large communal table. The host took my order, and when I requested my steak to be medium-rare, he curtly informed me that "In France, we only have rare, medium, and well-done." Well... okay. That slight attitude was rectified by the proffering of a little pot of pate and some country bread. A pot of pate, complimentary! Don't mind me if I help myself to finish all of it. The steak was tough and somewhat dry. The bone marrow that came with the entree was quite tasty. At the end of the meal, I was offered some free orange bread, which expanded my oh-so-full stomach even more. The meal was okay, but I'd only recommend coming here if you're comfortable with Parisian snobbishness.

This is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in Paris. It feels very authentic, and the food is unbelievable. The duck was amazing, and so was the famous aligot obviously. This was my last meal after spending four months in France and it was definitely the best. We had a fish sampler for the appetizer and a cheese plate for dessert, and between those things and the main course (and the complementary bread and fois gras at the beginning!) I felt like I would die from overeating, but it was all worth it. Make a reservation and go early!

A good restaurant where I had a family diner for my grandma 80's birthday ! Yes A big and important occasion ;-) As it was a private party we had the last floor only for us! It was just a shame that they did not plan a single/big table. 3 rounds tables were dressed. Space is not so huge ;-) Good food, well cooked. Obviously made with healthy and quality products from Auvergne. Service is polite, but not really easy-going. I wish to come back there for her 90's ;-) Located just 2 minutes away from Rambuteau Tube Station

Visited this place some time ago while studying abroad. Kept the photo of my food (that was delicious), but couldn't remember the name. Finally found it! I had to give a review. When visiting Paris you have to visit! The duck was amazing!

This place is INCREDIBLE! I had heard of their famous mashed potatoes loaded with cheesy goodness, and they sure lived up to the hype. I came here on a Monday evening, right when they opened and was able to get a table. I recommend making reservations though because the place filled up fairly quickly. They bring you toasted bread and pâté to start. It was sooo good. I'm used to the free bread and butter from American restaurants, so the pâté was a vast improvement. Now on the aligot, they come show them to you before they are served so you can see first hand how cheesy and gooey they are, not to mention fuel the temptation. I ordered the aligot with a sausage but also got to try my boyfriend's duck breast. Both options were perfect compliments to the main attraction. If you get the sausage, definitely ask for the mustard! Best mustard I've ever had. We also ended with the chocolate mousse. I am typically not a fan of chocolate but I couldn't think of a better dessert to have ended the meal. I think the chocolate is a nice break from all the creaminess of the mashed potatoes. I also want to mention the service, everyone was sweet, attentive and very informative. They use local, high quality ingredients.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.
