I hate to start the new year with a negative review, BUT here we are. The bad thing about this review is its a review prior to the actual service of getting the lashes done. My mother has been wanting to get her lashes done for years and finally went into the studio to make an appointment. The lady at the front desk on Saturday afternoon, Shana, was very pleasant and helpful. However, being the Yelper that I am, I decided to look on Yelp to see reviews of the location before my mom's morning appointment the next day, and the reviews were terrible (which you can see), which made my mom no longer comfortable with having an appointment at this location. When she made the initial appointment, she was told that she would be able to receive her deposit back if she did not do the service within 12 hours; however, what ended up happening was anything but. The person who answered the phone kept hanging up on her to the point that I had to call to get a name to be able to make a complaint. Very bad customer service - why would you hang up on a prospective client? Very rude and disrespectful. If you're considering making an appointment here, I suggest you do the opposite of Nike and move on. If the customer service is this way prior to your appointment, what happens if you have a bad experience during the lash process? Will you get cussed out? read more

So 2023 and already getting BAD service! I've been contemplating getting my lashes done and saw Amazing Lash on my way to Target.. so stopped in to get info.. spoke with Shana who was very pleasant so scheduled an appointment, leaving a cash deposit. When scheduling the appointment l asked about the cancellation policy and was told as long as l called 12 hrs in advanced l would receive my deposit back. I called to cancel the appointment 17 hours in advanced. Fast forward to this morning, l called to confirm my appointment cancellation was confirmed and to my surprise the rudest person named Alexis answered my call.. what a poor representative of this establishment.. she yelled at me, lied and told me I never called to cancel - although it appears in my phone log and then she said my deposit was non-refundable, although I was told differently when making the appt. and my receipt doesn't say that.. very unprofessional and argumentative.. she hung up on me several times.. and had the audacity to call me from other phone numbers, for what purpose?! If service is this bad prior to an appointment, l could only imagine what would happen if something had gone wrong at the appt.. save yourself some time and don't bother, they definitely don't value the customer or their reputation.. read more

Horrible experience will never be returning. It was my first time going to the amazing lash studio and I was getting ready to leave out of state for my brothers wedding in a couple of days when I scheduled my appointment, when I called things seemed to be good they were nice on the phone. When I arrived for my appointment I had just gotten out of work around 5 and I know the appointments usually take a couple hours so I was prepared for that. Once I got called in I showed the lash artist what I wanted which was a hybrid cat eye look. She said she could definitely do that look and proceeded to start. About 2 hours later when she finished I looked in the mirror and was so disappointed she decided to use size 13 lashes all around. ( for those who have never gotten their lashes done when you get a cat eye look the lashes should be shorter from the inside and longer on the outside) anyways they were very spread out and were definitely not hybrid. I was so irritated, it was 8pm and I needed to get home to my son I didn't have the time to sit there and have her "fix" it. Also they didn't even look like they were glued on they just looked bad. Anyways I went to the front and paid and left. The next day I left out of state for my brothers wedding. But I was so mad because THE VERY NEXT DAY!!!! All my lashes were falling out. I always follow all the instructions not to get them wet for the first 24 hours and I even bought one of their special sleeping eye masks. But still all my lashes were falling out. My boyfriend was mad because he knows how expensive lashes are and he even knew that that's not how they are supposed to look. I was so mad because for my brothers wedding I literally had less than 50% of my lashes left. I called the amazing lash studio and the women on the phone said they were so sorry and I could go in that day so they could fix it. I told them I was out of town and I wouldn't be back for about a week. She said that fine they would give me a complimentary set when I got back. So once I got back I went in for my second appointment to get them fixed. I of course got a new girl. ( also forgot to mention that there are different levels of lash artist that they have, and when I scheduled my first appointment they never told me that and scheduled me with a beginner) second time I got a senior lash artist. I showed her what I originally wanted and she said she could do it. Once she finished things looked a lot better but still not good. The glue was very clumpy and I just feel like it still wasn't the best job. I would not recommend this place. This location has the most inconsistent customer service. Whoever answered the phone this morning did not tell me it was a gorgeous day at amazing lash studio. A consistency that I look forward to and while this is not my lash home I keep my membership for the continuity across locations. Her snarky attitude was so annoying. Also she stated that my lash credits could not be used to cover my entire appointment. Even though I have more than enough to cover a fill. I say that as a customer for years as well as a previously booked customer with confirmation that it could be done. I also find that it is outrageous if life happens and you call the reschedule or cancel they expect a rebooking fee. I saw the low rating on Yelp and was shocked. I've been going to the Amazing Lash Rio studio in Gaithersburg for a year. They are AMAZING and completely live up to their name. I love the front desk ladies. They are kind and trendy. Always look great and are helpful and courteous. The manager is fantastic. My Master Lash Stylist Akua is absolutely fantastic, talented, and kind. I would never go to another place and I drive down from Thurmont. I hate to leave a bad review. But not a fan. I got a full classic set. Followed care instructions to a tee. I even bought their products to help maintain my lashes. I realized when I got home that she had more lashes on my left side than the right, so it didn't look even. I unfortunately work pretty far away so I did not have time to go back during their normal business hours to get it fixed. By day 4, the lashes on my right eye were basically falling off. I tried everything to preserve them again following the care instructions. Now coming on day seven and they really look awful. I'm just waiting for all of them to fall off completely at this point. Pricey and not a good job done. They charge a pretty decent amount. The technician that I had took over 3 hours to do a FILL. Most of the technicians are beginners so it makes no sense for them to be charging full price. They also charge a significant amount more for hybrid even with fills which doesn't make any sense. Save your money, go somewhere more qualified if you will pay these prices. There are plenty of better qualified technicians that charge way less! read more

I scheduled an appointment at Amazing Lash Studio with Ms. Akua in this studio in Gaithersburg but the experience I had was horrible the girl did a refill of my eyelashes but these were horrible badly glued and left so much space in-between my lashes huge gaps spaces that she did not fill them because my eyelashes were small according to her, and also put a lot of tape on my eyes and started to work but while she was working she would throw the tools and open some small doors and slam them like she didnt want to work on my lashes the tools she would clean it hard on the mattress like she was in a bad mood. I felt super disrespected she never greated me or told me her name I only knew the name AKUA because with her I made the appointment for the refill online because that was who was available at the time. I paid 134.99 AND I WAS ONLY 35 MINUTE and the offer says 79.99 DLS but it is a shameless robbery once you pay they add a lot of charges Additional features that wasnt even done they charged me 1 refill lashes (non member) 99.99 plus 10.00 master stylist refill plus another 45.00 for a refill which makes no sense this isn't what was advertised i ended up laying so much mney for a poor service and horrible done eye lash fill i cant even imagine for their fullset looks if she left my refill lashes all wonky with missing lashes and gaps on BOTH eyes no isolation on my natural lashes which cause pain on my eyes OMG I will definitely not return a terrible service read more

I have been going to Amazing Lash Studio Rio for about 3 months now. I had my lashes done by 3 lash artist/stylist during this time but I have primarily been going to Neda. She does an amazing job. I just started getting my lashes done when I started going here. I know what I like and what to expect now. Neda takes her time and she is experienced. I trust her work enough that I literally fall asleep each time now. She has that "special touch" and I don't trust people when I am getting a service directly tied into my appearance easily. I am usually alert waiting to see the final outcome. Neda is also friendly and professional. Everyone is actually nice and welcoming at this location. They listen if you have concerns related you your service and they will make any reasonable service issues right. These are franchises so please be careful when you decide to join. I went to the Studio approximately 6 months ago, I usually go to the Amazing Lash Studios in Boca Raton/Delray, Fl so I know how the charging of cancel/join/hold membership works, I had an okay experience with the lashes but just now I had a reality horror that I have a feeling many of us are going through now. I have not been back to Amazing Lash Gaithersburg, just went one time. For some reason today I looked at my bank account & noticed that I was charged a membership fee $200! If I would not have checked i would have never known. You would think an email or voicemail would be left saying that your credit card will be charged for a payment on this date/time for. Called the establishment and of course a pleasant girl answered by the name pf Alana - she replied by telling me that my membership was on "hold" and the only way that I could receive my $$$ back & have my membership cancelled was for her to send me a "form" to sign & have sent back. The problem I tried to explain to her was that the 'form that your establishment send is usually a PDF & everyone does not have the ability to "sign" the form or download the form. I got heated, because I am sick of businesses trying to get $$$ from Clients via a young Receptionist that knows diddly-squat about business. The child hung up on me. Dont blame her. I called back to apologize & the Owner Carey Jurimae (?) answered, of course she was kind. I apologized & told her I was totally unaware and I needed the money returned to my account. Of course she was pleasant and said the money would be returned. I am alerting my bank and now will have to watch my account, but in order to flag this payment I will need to "disable" my bank card - which I have other direct payments coming out of. This is not the way to do business, this is not cool. Ms. Jurimae your establishment should have a reoccurring email/text message advising the Client that a payment for the amount of $$ will be deducted from their account for the membership to their franchise. I am in the same business and I would never allow a payment to go through unless I have approval from the Bank Account Holder. BAD BUSINESS- plus her Receptionist needs to learn that the CUSTEOMER is paying her wage so she should never ever hang up & be nasty. "Stay away from this place for your own safety" I saw this cool lash place at Gaithersburg Rio and thought it would be nice to have my lashes done for Mother's Day. When I walk in to ask for prices and appointments the receptionist told me it was $150 for Russian style lash extensions and immediately after that she said "Oh but we have a special offer of only $25 until May 2nd 2021 and you can get any type of lashes you want for that price!, on the condition of being a model for a new stylist since we are brand new to the area and looking to hire some new staff!!!" I immediately started asking questions about why it was so cheap. I asked: Is the stylist someone with experience? Is it going to be safe for my eyes? Is someone going to supervise the stylist?". The receptionist said YES to all of these questions! I was so happy for my appointment and the great deal I thought I scored! Sadly I was not aware of what was about to come!!! When I told my husband he said "Don't do it, they are probably using you as a guinea pig" (which he was right but I was naive and I wanted to give this place a chance). The day finally came and I was there on time but the stylist was late which I didn't mind since I know traffic around the area can be crazy! The receptionist (a different lady from when I booked my appointment) told me to sign a bunch of papers in case I got hurt so I wouldn't sue them (ok I get it!but what kind of injuries can I get in a lash place? Isn't it supposed to be a safe and painless procedure?). So I signed everything still thinking It was gonna be a good experience like I had in the past getting lash extensions at other places! When the stylist arrived, she didn't even read the note with the information about her client! She kept saying the wrong name about 4 time until the receptionist called my name and introduced me to her! She took me to a room and asked me what I wanted and I told her I wanted the volume style! She started putting tape after tape all over my lashes which was very odd to me since I know they use tape for lash extensions but the amount she used was what I can only describe as "a serial killer getting ready to rip my eyeballs out!" I kept trying to talk to her and ask her questions since I felt uncomfortable but she wasn't answering them or she would say something very low so I couldn't hear her. She did tell me she was not a professional and that she was graduating this week (Wait a minute! Didn't they tell me the stylist had experience at this and they were just looking for new workers!!!!). I honestly wish I would have walked away right at that moment but I felt bad for her since I know we all have to start somewhere. From the beginning until the end it was nothing but pain (not pain from the glue or the lashes but pain from the stylist not knowing how to properly apply lashes!) She kept poking me with the sharp tweezers they use to put the lashes on, it felt like she was going to stab me in the eyes! What made me very concerned was that every time she would hurt me I let her know "hey that hurts" and she would laugh quietly and say, "you're ok!" The time went on forever and I thought why did I do this to myself, I should have said STOP and walked away but I was too embarrassed to do so! The end finally came and she said, while laughing, "they don't look bad for ONLY $25 lashes !!!!" And I looked at myself in the mirror with intense pain in my eyes to see the extra 4 hairs she applied during the 2hrs and 30 mins. What's worse is that they didn't even look like they were placed right, it looked like 3 week old lash extensions (I thought to myself what was all this pain for!!). As soon as I got home I put ice on both of my eyelids to reduce the pain that I still feel from all the poking! This is why I don't recommend this place. They didn't supervise the work of one of their employees. They lied to me and claimed she wasn't a part of their staff (which I later found out on Instagram that she was) and that she was a professional (which she was not). I love this place! I first came s a training guest and it was explained to me in FULL detail that my stylist was still learning and that it would take 2.5 hours for a full set but that it would only be $25. I figured I'd take my chances! I liked but didn't absolutely love my lashes, and when I told the staff they offered me a free adjustment! That's the customer service this area needs! My adjustment gave me just the look I was going for. That was in February and I've been a solid customer since! Bre and Denise are my go-to stylists and I get compliments about my lashes everyday. All of the staff are incredibly warm and friendly too which is rare. All of the negative reviews don't reflect my experience at all and suggest that people didn't listen when they signed up to be TRAINING guests. I've never been burned, poked, or hurt in any way. All of the non-training services are definitely competitive to/better than other lash techs in the area and the pricing on refills and upgrades can't be beat! read more

This lash studio is absolutely beautiful and very clean! I LOVE it! They follow all of the Covid-19 safety protocols which made me so comfortable. The staff was so sweet and made my check in/check out very easy. Lauren was my lash tech and my lashes looked amazing when she was done. Also, they lasted a long time! The only good thing about this place was that it is a nice looking environment and the staff are friendly. The work on the other hand is awful. So many of my lashes fell out because i got them done her. My artist was really nice but the work was not great at all. I got to look at my lashes for a min before i left and they looked fine at first glance. When i looked at them in the car, the lashes weren't even close to my lash line. The lashes were halfway on my natural lash. It was so unnatural looking and very scattered. There were also several random lashes glued on my eyelid where no lashes were. As time went on it only got worse. The lashes fell out pulling my natural lashes out and not only that, my artist did not do good at all with isolation. one synthetic lash for every natural lash is the rule. Every single time a lash fell out, it would pull 2-3 of my natural lashes out. The work was honestly just not good and i'm not one to write reviews. This place is also insanely overpriced. I asked my artist how much this set would regularly be (i was receiving the promotional 25$ lash model price). the artist said 200+. That work is definitely not worth 200 at all. read more

I visited Amazing Lash Studio and loved it!! The studio is clean and adorable! My Lash Artist was friendly and knowledgeable. She used their Lash App to help me pick my look. I was able to virtually explore all of their lash styles, it was great! I loved my lashes so much I ended up signing up for a membership!
