Tucked away in a tiny corner, literally, kind of hard to get to but the drinks are delish. Few tables inside. We got the Amai special and the mango sticky matcha. Both were great and yummy!

Welcome to AMAI.

Amai Coffee/Tea is a new Filipino inspired coffee and matcha cafe. A fantastic local gem with shops in Glendale and Torrance. This location is at a small business plaza in San Fernando Road in Glendale. I stopped in for a morning Cold coffee drink before going to work. The staff are immediately friendly and welcoming and genuinely pleased to see you. The menu has plenty of options for everybody and some superb coffee drinks. I chose one of their specialties an iced Manila Vanilla, an espresso + organic + roasted vanilla which coast 4.80 quid ($6.50 usd). It was refreshing, smooth, and perfect morning quencher on an 82-degree weather. I really liked it! :D Their drink menu was compendious and fairly priced. Pastries are available. Interior design and layout were very minimal and compact, respectively. However, they do have front outdoor seats facing the parking lot for customers. Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Staff were competent and affable. Parking was very limited given they're in a small plaza and gets filled fairly quickly. Overall, it's a nice little Filipino coffee shop which is very popular amongst local coffee drinkers. I will definitely recommend you visit. I shall return. Tootletloo!

Turon latte on the left & Vietnamese coffee on the right

I'm always looking for new coffee shops in my area and today I'm so happy Amai popped up on my Yelp! It is in a little shopping center, and has parking available! Please keep in mind the lot is shared and the parking can become a little crowded. The coffee shop is very aesthetic and welcoming! The staff was very friendly and helped me make my drink choice! I was very intrigued when I saw their menu said Asian inspired drinks, especially the Turon and Vietnamese coffee! I had turon growing up in the valley and it's the first time I see it on a coffee menu! This drink wasn't overly banana, it had a perfect balance between the coffee and syrup! I added the banana cold foam to my drink and it really pulled it all together. I do have to say that the Vietnamese coffee was even better than the turon!! The turon was good but the Vietnamese topped it for me! I loved how strong it was along with how balanced the sweetness was. My favorite thing was the salted foam, it really elevated the drink! I can't wait to come back and try their matcha and other drinks!

It is located in a plaza so parking is easy and free. It's a small coffee shop, there's a communal table then there are couple of seats. It's prolly not the best place to work since it could get crowded easily. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I ordered Amai Signature, I love it. The espresso was smooth and it didn't turn out to be super sweet despite the brown sugar, sweet foam and cocoa powder mixture. I'll definitely come back to try their other Specialty drinks.

Matcha Einspanner

I had high expectations for this place. I ordered the matcha Einspanner and it was really weak.

Match and a banana latte

Excellent service, very fast and friendly even with a only a couple of staff. They have a nice variety of coffee drinks and matcha drinks as well as milk alternatives. It's a small cafe with very limited seating and a small parking lot. Street parking is available and they share their lot with Dinah's chicken which makes it tough during lunch. The coffee is delicious and who doesn't like to support small businesses? I can't wait to come back and try some hot coffee.

Loved this cute little spot! Felt lucky to have no line. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, and the sweet cream on top had the perfect sweet-and-salty flavor. I'm already craving another one. It's a small café with only about 7 to 8 seats, but there's a decent-sized parking lot, and it's absolutely worth the stop. The service was so friendly, and the coffee was delicious. Definitely coming back to try the turon and more of their drinks!

Turon banana latte

A very solid coffee spot! As a Filipina, I jumped on the idea of a turon banana latte as it was one of my favorite desserts growing up. I got hints of the caramelized sugar but was a little sad that more of the banana flavor didn't shine through, even with the banana foam! I got the mango sticky rice matcha for my husband which he enjoyed but he also lamented in desiring a stronger matcha flavor. Despite this, I still thought that overall the drinks were tasty and I would return to try their other offerings!

My matcha latte was not good at all. Reading the other recent reviews, I feel like most people enjoyed it, but for me it was just milk with a whisper of matcha. I could tell by the light green color that it wouldn't be great. If I could've asked them to remake it, I would've loved to see if it was a one time mistake.

Amai Special Latte

We have been here more than once now and ordered the Amai Special latte every time. The first time, it was slightly too sweet for me, so I ordered half the brown sugar the second time and that was perfect. I'll be doing that from now on. This shop is small, has a large communal table inside as well as a couple of pairs of chairs outside. If they would put an umbrella out there for the sun/heat, it would be a really nice little corner spot to hang out in this plaza. They always have nice music playing and a clean restroom on hand. They people here really seem to care about their drinks and have been friendly and kind every time we've been here. There is a small parking lot for the entire plaza, which is feast or famine for spots depending on what time of day you're here. We've come when it's super busy and still found a spot quickly. It's a one way loop thru the parking lot and all of the spaces are angled. Lots of great stuff in this plaza, so grab a coffee from Amai and check out the pananderia and other businesses while you're at it.

Delicious drinks! You can see the matcha being made by hand fresh as you wait in line. I loved the hojicha einspanner - the tea was so fragrant. They have unique drinks like the Turo Banana latte that you can't find anywhere else. Their pastries also taste as good as they look. We had the matcha almond croissant which had matcha filling in the middle and it was so good! Service is so friendly and efficient. The space is small inside with just one large table and couple seats on the side, so it can be tight squeeze inside. It's worth a visit though because you can taste the quality.

Was really excited to hear that a cute café like Amai was opening near me. We went on a Thursday afternoon and there was a short line. Their menu is incredibly innovative and has a lot of unique flavors, so it was super hard choosing just one. I wanted to try the mango matcha, too and the banana flavors also sounded good. We ended up ordering the Vietnamese coffee and the double matcha. The Vietnamese coffee was good, strong and not too sweet. However, my double matcha was very milky and tasted watered down. Despite it being the strongest matcha on the menu (supposedly), there was no matcha taste at all and it tasted more like just oat milk. The matcha cream on top was tasty and strong but not enough to balance out the milkiness of the matcha latte underneath. I was pretty disappointed, but hopefully it was just a one off. I hope I can come back and try some of the other flavors, and see if the matcha is redeemed. The space itself is super cute with wooden tables and a record player and plants in the corner. There are also chairs and tables outside, and it's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. A pretty convenient and cozy space - I'd opt for the coffee instead of matcha here or skip the double matcha and try a fruit matcha instead.

Located in a small shopping center with some parking but extra parking next door in the Vons lot. Great variety of coffee and matcha drinks. With a specialty Asian inspired drink section and seasonal specials. They all looked really tasty and creative. Went with the following... Specialty Asian Inspired coffee drinks: Vietnamese House Coffee- Coffee, condensed milk, salted foam, and cacao powder Turon Banana- Espresso, milk, banana, banana foam, and banana chips The Vietnamese hose coffee was strong and perfectly balanced with the sweetness of condensed milk , now add a salty component with the foam and... perfect! I love all things banana and the TURON LATTE WAS SO YUMMY. Great espresso and lots of banana. Loved it! I don't think you can go wrong with any beverage here.

We luckily found street parking up front, otherwise they have a small street nearby that you can probably park in as well. Only two people were ahead of us when we walked in but shortly after, the place filled up with the line almost out the door! There was only one worker but she made it work and she was fast! Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, cute cups though! Something about the drink I got was a little off putting. Idk if it was whatever spice they used but I was not crazy about it. I definitely want to come back and try the pistachio at some point though! Getting out of my parking spot was rough. Busy street but also some annoying guy parked in the red zone behind me, basically bumper to bumper and then another girl in front had A LOT of room in front of her and just didn't give me enough room. I luckily made it out but very annoying! Anyway, still looking forward to coming back to try their pistachio bliss! IG: @ammysalamii

This location is small and more of a grab and go but still delivers on the essentials. The focus is on providing an elevated tea experience with signature premium teas and fresh fruits. HeyTea popularized cheese tea which is now a staple at many bubble tea stores. HeyTea is a must visit for any bubble tea enjoyer. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, the prices can be high. But what you get in return is deliciousness in a cup. If you have patience, maybe wait a few weeks for things to settle. Maybe I'm going crazy or perhaps I'm romanticizing a bit, but I do feel as the quality is not the same as it was years ago. Having tried HeyTea on multiple continents (Asia, Australia, etc.) over the years, either the magic has slightly worn off or perhaps it was inevitable that as they grew, some things would slip through the cracks. That being said, the quality is still top notch but it doesn't seem as unmatched as before when they were alone at the top. This location is clean and modern but definitely not their best unfortunately. It is also on the smaller side. The staff is efficient and friendly. Would recommend periodically checking on the app for them to open online orders so you can skip the lines; huge time saver. Overall, HeyTea remains one of the top bubble tea chains and the long lines are a testament of the hype.

A female staff member said I could, so I ordered at the counter and asked her what drinks could be made caffeine-free. She very kindly told me that if I let her know which drink I wanted, she would make it without caffeine for me. The female staff who took my order was incredibly friendly. I ordered the Mango Coconut Boom, and it was great that they had a display board showing which order numbers were currently being made while I waited. After waiting for about 5 to 8 minutes, my drink came out, and it was really delicious. It wasn't too sweet and was very refreshing. (I actually try to avoid drinking sugary drinks because of my teeth. Ever since spending a fortune at the dentist a few years ago, I've been taking extra care of my teeth. So I usually don't drink sweet beverages, but this one didn't bother my teeth at all, which made it even better.) The only downside is that this location doesn't have any tables or seating space. Still, the drink was so delicious and refreshing that I finished it in a flash, and the staff who took my order was so friendly, which was great. (Even when Starbucks gives out free drinks sometimes with my reward points, I never order a Venti because I think it's a waste to order a large size just because it's free if I can't even finish it. So I just ordered a regular size yesterday, but it was so good that I drank it so fast.) I heard Hey Tea is very popular lately and that a lot of people love it, so I went out of curiosity yesterday, and I am completely satisfied.
