Wow!!! Leo was so prompt at responding to my Yelp inquiry and came the same day to do a walk-thru. Got started the next work day and took care of three huge trees that had branches in our roof and in power lines. Reasonably priced! Only took a few hours and they just did a fantastic job. Thank you! Highly recommend! read more

I contacted Leo via Yelp and he quickly got back to me about my need to cut down a pine tree. He had time to come over when I called and was prompt. Assessed the situation and told me my options for tree removal, just a cut down or cut down + trunk removal. I opted for the latter. His price came in lower than someone else I had come and give me a quote, which I was surprised. My smallish pine tree (15 - 20 ft tall) was cut, stump removed, and cleaned up in 2.5 hours. Leo double checked if I wanted the hole to be left open where the stump was removed or cover it back up with dirt before they finished the project. I opted for them to cover the hole back up since I'm not ready to put in a new tree. Communication was good, he let me know when he was 5 mins out from my house and we were in communication about scheduling. Would definitely hire again. read more

Per Yelp some solid, positive Reviews I reached out, spoke with "Leo" and was able sched an appt. for a "free estimate" (*next day). Leo arrived, on time, & after a walk through & discussion, we agreed on a contract which was sent to me via email prior to scheduled job. Next day the job was completed with no issues. Leo & his Team, knocked it all out at a reasonable time. They were meticulous with their work and left the yard clean and tidy on completion. Leo is a friendly, professional and an *Expert* at what he does. He & his team trimmed, removed deadwood from two Pines trees, cut off a huge branch from my Oak Tree that was too close to my roof as well as cut down at least 5 ft. from our large Tree/scrub. Very efficient with each job task. After it was all done, I can't say how extremely satisfied I am by the work. I'm so happy to get this project done in such a quick turnaround. I will most definitely call on Leo & his Team for future home Tree Trimming+. I strongly recommend Alvarado Tree Service. read more

I got a reference for Enrique, owner of Alvarado Tree Service, from a friend's gardener who is Enrique's brother-in-law. Enrique showed up later in the day when I first contacted him, looked at the 18-foot large tree I wanted him to cut including the roots, and gave me a reasonable verbal bid, and required no advance deposit. A few days later he showed up at 8 a.m. as agreed with three more men, a wood chipper, and a large stump grinder. The work was done professionally and safely, with all men wearing helmets and ear protection when operating loud machinery. From start to finish the experience has been both pleasant and satisfactory. There is a huge redwood on the border of my lot with a neighbor's and Enrique suggested that instead of removing the tree completely, reducing its height by 30% or more, and trimming large branches would cost significantly less than removing the entire tree, not counting the required reconstruction of adjoining fence and landscaping. If and when my neighbor and I agree on terms, Alvarado Tree Service will be the first hearing from me. read more

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the shelter-in-place order currently in effect. ** About a month prior to the current shelter-in-place order, I had been looking on Yelp for an arborist who could address a lot of overgrown trees on my property. I'm not the green thumb type, so there were branches jutting and foliage spreading in different directions, including some sturdy wisteria on a wooden arbor that found its way over the fence to my neighbor's yard. Leo came over and gave me a general estimate for the work and we settled on a date. Then COVID-19 hit hard... Over three months of mandatory social distancing elapsed, just enough time for not only the wisteria to get out of control but a huge cherry tree coming from other properties starting to encroach on ours. I reconnected with Leo, and within a week, he provided a new estimate for the work and gathered his crew to trim all the trees and clean up the foliage. They removed weeds and dead plants and cleaned our roof and gutters. It was all done in a half-day for a very fair price. I would definitely recommend them for tree work when you need it done right. I called them about a month ago to give me a quote on a property where I needed a bunch of work to be done. The gentleman was here on time and we walked through the property and he recommended what needed to be done in order for the trees and bushes to thrive. I did not end up using their service. We are still in discussion with the city about the overall work , but their price quote was a bit lower than what other companies gave me. I will use them if I ever pull the trigger read more

Answered my inquiry right away. Came out, gave an explanation of what they would do to trim my two olive trees. Gave me a price quote with a date of service. After a couple more quotes, I went with this company. So glad we did. My husband was so impressed with the job they did today. He wanted to make sure I was going to post a review & be sure to mention: they also did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. They even priced matched another company's quote that was a bit less expensive. read more

Great service! Called Alvarado Tree Service on Sunday evening before the Memorial Day holiday. I thought I'd hear back after the holiday to discuss an estimate for a tree removal and tree topping. I received a call back almost immediately. Leo said he was available to come out that evening (Sunday) and provide an estimate. He as right on time, took a look at the two trees and provided a very reasonable estimate and said he'd let me know when he could get me into his schedule. Leo scheduled me for the following Thursday. As agreed, he and his crew arrived on time and prepared to do the work. They were fast and efficient. All the work was done to my satisfaction. When completed, they thoroughly cleaned the area and even removed debris that wasn't part of the job. I couldn't be more satisfied with the work and the workers. I'm keeping their contact information for future work. Very highly recommended. read more

We have a large property in Oakland, and we lost about 7 trees this year. Standing dead trees are a fire risk, and the best way to handle them is to cut them up and leave them on the ground, where they will rot naturally. We hired Alvarado Tree Service to do this, and they were on time, effective, efficient, pleasant to work with, and cleaned up every place they worked (even in the places with poison oak!). We will hire them again. read more

I called twice to get an appointment for wood chips to be dropped off at my residence but no one ever called me back.

Leo was very professional and does high-quality work. Would highly recommend!! We had a fig tree that became very heavy as the fruit became ripe, and we lost a big branch overnight. We were worried other branches would follow, and didn't want to cause any accidents into our neighbors yards! Leo came out the next day, and pruned back the fig tree beautifully. Still saved the tree, and didn't overprune it to the point where it looked out-of-place in our yard. Thank you Leo!!! You're the best. read more

In the past, I had a different tree company trim my 2 palm trees, but they raised their prices 50% since 2017, so I decided to reach out to a few companies on Yelp and get some estimates. I sent a few inquiry messages on Saturday night (3/23). Within minutes, I received a response from Leo and he said he would come to my house on Sunday to give me an estimate. That was unbelievable that someone would be so responsive ! His prices were good so we agreed that he would come the next Saturday (3/30) to trim the palm trees. He brought his crew and showed up at 7:30 am even though he told me they would be there at 8. They finished the job before noon and cleaned up all the debris. They are very professional, punctual, and hard working. I'm glad I found Alvarado Tree Service on Yelp and I will definitely use them whenever I need help with my trees! If you need any tree service, I highly recommend that you use this company; you won't regret it! read more

Alvarado Tree Service did a great job for us! Skilled, efficient, and showed up right on time. Strongly recommend.

Leo came by same day after contacting him on his website for a quote. We had to remove a walnut tree, trim elm in front, and remove a tall impossible to remove tree stump. All of this was no sweat to Leo and his team -- he gave us a quote on the spot, booked for the following weekend, confirmed the day before, and arrived early to the appointment. Fair price, proactive, and incredibly reliable (also bonus for good humor). read more

Alavarado Tree Service GETS IT while other companies do not. Leo Alvarado knows the secret ingredient in the sauce. The secret ingredient is: responding in a timely fashion to emails/texts will win a customer over. I inquired two other five star rated companies for tree service but neither matched Leo's response rate. One company's bid was 300 dollars lower than Alvarado Tree Service, but never responded with a written estimate. The other company's representative said that he would get back to me in five to 10 minutes after I made the call. He called me two to three hours later. My interpretation was that he wasn't interested in my business. There is no excuse for a company not to get back to its customers in a timely fashion. It's not they are busy but rather the company doesn't place a high priority in its treatment of its customers. Based upon the reviews I read, I am sure that I would be satisfied with their services. But Alavarado Tree Service knows what it takes to get to the finish line. One item I forgot to mention when I originally wrote my remarks. Leo and his crew did not do a great job pruning our tree but left our front patio immaculate after the pruning. read more

Fast service, great workers gets the job done, neat and tidy workers, I highly recommend these guys they know what they are doing,

OMG! Leo and his workers are THE BEST. Very professional equipment, they came right on time, quickly and professionally removed my dying tree including a big stump, and at a fair price. Go no further. Hire these guys. And know that I'm not averse to giving a bad review. Alvarado Tree FULLY deserves this 5-star review. read more

Leo provided excellent communication as well as prompt service.I contacted Leo on a Monday morning for a tree removal and within an hour he was at my property and provided a very reasonable estimate. If I could give Alvarado Tree Service 10 stars, I would. From start to finish, it was such a fantastic experience working with Leo and his crew. We hired them to remove a large pine from our property. He proactively contacted me at the beginning of the week to tell me which day his crew would be at our house. He showed up with his crew bright and early on the day he said he would. They came prepared with plywood and blankets to protect our house and stair railings from damage as they hauled out the tree. They also came with a large enough crew to make quick work of taking down the tree. Our job was SUPER difficult with a ton of stairs and a very tight space to work in. They were amazingly gentle on our surrounding garden and cleaned up meticulously at the end. I would highly recommend Alvarado Tree Service without any hesitation whatsoever! read more

We were looking for someone to remove 4 stumps we had in our backyard from trees we recently cut down. Alvarado and his guys were quick to respond to my request and came out the same day for an estimate. They even offered to take the brush and logs we had remaining. The day they came they were quick and took pride in their work especially during these times of COVID19. They took all the precautions and wore masks when we met. The job came out better than expected and was worth every penny. Definitely recommend them for future work. read more

These guys are nothing short of amazing. I contacted them through YELP just as a storm was approaching and I was getting nervous about a very tall Monterey Pine tree stump in my backyard falling into my house. I got a call within a few hours and Manuel came out to assess the situation and give me a quote a few hours later. The price was very reasonable and three of their crew came out the next day in the pouring rain and took the whole thing down in chunks and cleaned up all the debris in about three hours. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend them. read more

We live in the Oakland Hills so have annual fire mitigation mandates. Several estimates were sky high. Alvarado Tree Service was more in line with what we've paid in the past. Have seen their trucks around, but never hired them before. Let me say: These guys are great. Gave us an estimate, scheduled the date+time, and wham! They were ten minutes early, and got the job done fast even in the face of COVID-45 restrictions. Will definitely hire Alvardo Tree Service in the future. read more

My ancient 90 ft tall cedar dropped 2 huge branches across the front steps weeks apart. Even though it had been pruned in the past. Potentially lethal if a person were underneath. Alvarado Tree did the urgent job promptly. They found 5 more cracked branches ready to fall, then had to cut back all the branches for safety. A third of the beautiful tree had to be removed. They were very careful of aesthetics, and the final results are the best looking possible considering what needed to be done, beautiful in places. Their price was decent for a big job. Highly recommended, for safety and for beautiful work. read more

Little weirdo me, I had a bit of an odd request when I messaged Alvarado Tree Service back in Dec 2018. I needed palm leaf trimmings for my kids school performance. To my surprise, I receive a call from Leo this morning that they had a palm tree trimming job today and I could pick up the trimmings anytime! Hold up. Wait hold on, first of all... THEY REMEMBERED ME ????? and my odd request and more so, went out of their way to call me and tell me. That made my day. After not hearing back from several tree trimming services in the weeks leading up to today, I figured hey who's going to call me back? It doesn't benefit their business financially and it's out of their way to give me a call for something they're giving me free. Which is why I was so surprised with the call- anyway, I met up with Leo and saw that the leaves were beautiful but much too large and long for my SUV, so Leo even cut the stems that had sharp thorns while he was in the middle of a clients job and told me he'd deliver them to my place after he's done cleaning up. Wow. Just wow. He couldn't have been any nicer and awesome. When little things like this happen in the universe, it gives me hope for mankind in a weird way. Like, cool there are still 'those types' of people who go out of their way without any expectation of that makes sense. Thank you Leo for your kind heart- I will recommend them to anyone and everyone that has a tree!!! read more

Two backyard pines were trimmed today by Alvarado Tree Service. The crew showed up promptly before the scheduled time of 8:00 am. Everyone wore masks and followed safety protocols. Once the job was finished, the backyard was left in pristine condition. I would definitely use this service again! read more

If I could give Leo and his team more than 5 stars, I definitely would in a heart beat. I had a MASSIVE tree in my backyard that's been there for 40+ years and I had it cut down, however, finding someone to remove the stump was so problematic. The massive stump was also surrounded by large rocks. However, Leo did not hesitate to take on the task. When I requested an appointment, Leo came by the same evening to take a look at it and could start the following day. His team today arrived on time and were ready to work. They were efficient and diligent. Leo is very easy to work with and extremely responsive. read more

I contacted Leo with Alvarado Tree Service yesterday and received a response within a few hours. Leo came to my house in Marin exactly on time the next day and gave us a reasonable bid to remove 3 dead/dying trees. He brought 4 guys who did a great job with the removal as well as the clean-up. Since my trees were near electric lines, I was initially nervous about working with them. However, Leo arrived with insurance and worker's comp documentation in hand which allowed me to move forward comfortably. Will definitely work with them again. read more

Needed some professional help for some big overgrown trees on a recently purchased house. Leo came and quoted me a very fair price for a considerable job, tall trees, big brush piles, and even some tough branches near power lines. After some back and forth on the best day for the job, he and his team showed up and were diligent, very skilled, and had all the right tools for the job. The work took them most of the day, and they cleaned up the job site extremely professionally. We had neighbors come over and ask for Leo's card. In the end, the highlights are that my Grandfather Apple Tree has a nice new haircut off the power lines, my palm tree now look stunning, and all the brush piles I had created were gone and even their remenants were blown away. We got quotes from other places, and it wasn't close. Alvarado's mix of quality and price is top notch. read more

Leo and Alvarado Tree Service did a great job! Leo came out to provide an estimate and then was able to schedule the work for later that week. The crew was quick, very professional, and left our yard super tidy. They also were able to do exactly what I was hoping for - cut back as much of the branches that were hanging over into our backyard as possible. The branches were pretty thick and starting to grow towards our house and over the roof as well.
