Just want to send a hats off to Tad and Treemasters for delivering a choice load of bark chips and mulch. It was carefully and perfectly placed exactly where we had asked. We were able to cover our entire back, side and front yard, and even had some left to share with a neighbor. 2/23/26 - Today TREMASTERS came to my home in Sonoma and removed a decaying live oak tree. The crew supervisor, Bert, and his team of 3 people were professional, curious and did an amazing job. My tree was overhanging my house so they used a small crane to extract the heavy limbs. Avoiding my house and powerlines, this team moved in synchronicity . What was very clear from the beginning was their attention to safety not only for the property but for themselves. These people are complete professionals. I want to express appreciation for how responsive Treemasters was when one of our 80+ foot tall Valley Oaks was uprooted and fell over in our backyard on New Year's Eve day two years ago. After hearing it (quietly) fall and land about 6am, I called their number wanting to get in line and expecting to leave a message. They called me back almost right away, and organized a visit to our yard and the neighbor's yard, as well as a check by the fire department (lines), by 8am that same morning. Amazing to have this kind of service. To be fair, we were existing customers who had had major trimming work done on our set of valley oaks and other trees, but still we felt very lucky since many inches of rain meant that a lot of trees were falling in our area that weekend. Treemasters determined what needed to be done, and how to deal with the tree landing across the creek in the lower backyard and diagonally into a neighbor's fence. The clearing job took about a week with half a dozen workers, and we also took the recommendation to trim and clear the trunks of the remaining two oaks. Great work! read more

Today was our second time hiring Treemasters, and both the process and the work were outstanding. The property where we live is on a steep slop on 2 sides, and was planted with numerous trees by the original owner nearly 50 years ago. William, certified arborist with Treemasters, previously consulted with us about removing 5 full grown black Acacias (which had been infested by a beetle) and a dead birch (which had been struck by lightning) on the property. I left a prior positive review for that job. We knew that we would also need to schedule treatment for two other 40+ year old birch trees, and removal of one additional dead birch tree, all of which had been infested by birch borers. Arborist William was still concerned about preserving any and trees whenever possible: when trees could be treated or trimmed instead of removed, that was his top priority. This time we had the second dead birch tree removed, and are scheduled for treatment for the two still-living birch trees. The Treemasters crew arrived promptly, and were working in a very confined space. The tree to be removed was close not only to one of our fences but also a neighbor's fence. The crew was extremely professional, courteous, and expertly and quickly removed the tree and cleared up all of the debris. In summary: At this point we have needed to have 7 elderly trees removed from a steep property - in a neighborhood with narrow, winding, and at times steep roads. Treemasters has consistently performed above and beyond expectations in terms of arrival, expert removal, and debris cleanup. Our assigned arborist has repeatedly demonstrated interest in protecting and preserving trees whenever possible rather than advocating for work just for the sake of getting a sale. Based in part on our positive experience, two different neighbors have now also had Treemasters out to assist with tree maintenance, and we are all very happy with the results. Even after we have the birch borer treatment for the remaining trees done, I plan to reach out to Treemasters for any other treatments and pruning advice for the remaining trees on the property. Finally, I want to mention the front office staff: my main contact for scheduling, billing, and questions has been with office staff member Jessica, who is a *gem.* She is always pleasant, cheerful, and helpful. Update as of 6/16/24: We had the tree assessed in 2023 and were told that it was within 2-5 years of its life expectancy for a Monterey Pine in a suburban neighborhood, so we finally decided to take it down. It was still in good health -- just 50+ years old and living wedged between concrete and tar. It had a good long run, including 14+ years after Treemasters advised that it needed to come down, and it never gave us any trouble. RIP Tree read more

Mike, a certified Arborist with Treemasters, reviewed our needs and spoke with our neighbor to assure them that the work we wanted to do to trim the tops of a few of their trees would neither be noticeable from their property nor do any harm. I meet with Treemasters after reading their positive reviews to have 2 Oak Trees branches cut. When I meet with them they seem to have no problem and offered to trim a Magnolia Tree too. The price of &5,600. seemed high but these trees were large. I signed their contract but did not read their terms which was cutting the two oak trees about 2-4 inches. I text and the owner responded and they came back but only cut a little bit more of one Oak and one of their tree cutters spilled some oil on a small wooden chair next to my door that was not even by the trees. so overall very disappointed . read more

The Arborist, Mike, was very knowledgeable and professional and the crew that worked on my property was top notch, except for the young kid, Will.. The main problem is with the office staff; Olivia in particular. She is beyond rude and unprofessional and made me feel like I was wasting her time when I called and had questions about what type of services they offered and if they would be able to help me. The big differentce was that Treemasters recommended several great things to do to open up the view and make the lot appear bigger and somehow friendlier. This will help fetch a higher price when selling. Not one of the other estimators took this approach and it really paid off for us. We have a liquid amber tree and a mulberry tree in our front yard. Both were massively overgrown. Treemasters expertly trimmed and shaped both trees to our complete satisfaction. They had exactly the equipment needed, including a large boom lift, and the operators were very skilled. These guys were incredible. A massive oak fell on my house at 4:00 in the morning. They had a guy out to inspect by 6:00 am and the crew was there by 8:00. Tad, the owner, was unbelievably helpful. My wife grew up with Tad Jacobs, so when my family moved back to Marin after 25 years on the East Coast and purchased a 1/4 acre dream property up on Mt. Tam that was surrounded by several, massive, dying Monterey Pines, we called Treemasters, and boy am I glad we did. I wish we had a few months sooner, before one fell on our roof in a storm during the Winter of 22. At that point, we were working with a smaller Arborist who had trimmed the dying trees to see if we could get some more life out of them, which was a big waste resources. Long story short, we reached out to Treemasters, this past October, and Tad's crew was on site within days and removed the rest of the large Pines (6) in a couple of days! We were prepared for this job to last a while and were blown away by how efficiently and effectively this crew worked together. Everyone knew their place; they were extremely well-choreographed. Also tidy- They left the site immaculate. Fast forward a month... severe weather hit in a way the area hasn't experienced in decades, high wind and rain for weeks. The first time was in 2015 for our sick Japanese maple. The owner himself, Tad, came out because we lived in his neighborhood. During the 2023 storms we worried about our HUGE eucalyptus tree. It was near our house and two neighbors homes. We call a few top companies in Marin County to get bids -- and while we had other work that needed to be done as well (trimming of a row of Eugenia trees, trimming of another two trees). Treemasters was referred to us by a dear friend (and master gardener). Their bid was fair, detailed, and lower than others who didn't clearly explain how much they would remove -- or go into detail about the other tree trimming we needed in our yard (to be done at the same time). Treemasters was responsive, scheduled us quickly (even with the storms and their need all over the county) and provided all insurance support for their work. Their team (of 6 - 7) showed up with safety gear, and executed this precarious trimming job with care, caution, and efficiency. Sammy (the group leader) was wonderful in orchestrating the team, the process and dealing with our flights of stairs, tight cul de sac (and need to pull the grinder up to the house), and care needed to protect our newly installed pavers in our driveway. We even asked if they could grind out a stump at another time, and they managed to do it while there were there in addition to all of the other jobs we had for them. I needed a tree taken down and another trimmed. Out of 4 companies we called, they were the ONLY one that responded. I even called the others twice and they didn't even call back - and they're well known tree companies. Treemasters came out to look at the trees, a written bid is in my mailbox within the week. I got a follow up call 2-3 weeks later (didn't get back to them yet cause I'd been trying to get a hold of the other bozos). The trimmed tree looks terrific, 1000x better than I envisioned. Swept and cleaned up like they were never here. Crew was wonderful and accommodating (even well dressed). Job done as promised, high quality work, on time, no hassles, very efficient, knowledgeable. We had to have 2 tall dead birch trees, 1 huge Pine tree, and some other tall Junipers that we needed removed. We shopped for various quotes, Treemasters was on the high end. We didn't want to take any risk because of the size of the trees. Treemasters was also the only one who presented their insurance on the first visit. Tim came to take a look the first time, he was nice and informative, knowledgeable of the law, telling me about required permits for some of the trees. I didn't meet Tanya in person, but she was the person I've corresponded with the most, via email or phone. Very professional and quick to respond. On the day of tree removal, I came home during lunch to take a look, and met the crew during their lunch time. They were all very polite and the main guy interrupted his lunch to come meet me and go over what they had been doing and what was left. They left the place very neat and clean.
