Reposting my review after Yelp deleted it for mentioning the tree guy I ended up using... Wish I could give 5 stars - Wanted to support a local crew and went with Aaron (The Tree Man). He came to my house and provided a quote to which I agreed. He indicated his crew would be there either the next day or the day after that. I stayed home both days and he never showed or called or texted. I texted him asking why he hadn't come or called or texted about the job and never received a response. His crews have been working the roads, possibly for PGE, and I saw them out working while I was waiting for him to contact me. I'm guessing he is too busy or something, who knows? --- I ended up going with another local company [insert deleted company] and was very happy with their service. read more

We have 5 acres in Sonoma County and they came up for 4 days and really transformed the property. They were really good at advising me on which trees to top vs which trees to remove. They brought heavy duty equipment and they were really efficient at getting things done. They also were able to handle tree removal near fences and power lines without issue. A huge coastal oak fell through the roof of our home in March. I reached out to many tree companies to talk about handling the removal. Freddie came over to assess the situation and provided us with a clear overview of our options and a competitive quote. The crew that came the following week was impressive, efficient and hardworking and were careful not to do any more damage as they extracted limbs from our attic. We had them come back to grind the stump which was complicated because of access issues, and they didn't leave a trace of the stump or visible roots that extended far beyond the tree. I hired The Tree Man in November 2020 to remove 5-6 acacia trees growing on the edge of my property. My neighbor had used them in 2019 and had nothing but positive things to say. We signed a contract at the beginning of November, so I expected the trees to be removed within 30 days. At the beginning of December the trees were still there so I reached out. The owner responded and said he'd been hospitalized but would do the job within a week. I told him anytime by the end of December would be fine. The new year (2021) arrives but the removal of the trees still has not. So I reach out again in January and am told their stump grinder broke and due to Covid they're having a hard time getting the blades replaced. On Feb 1st I contacted them, again, and told them if the trees weren't removed by the end of February I'd have to cancel the contract. No reply so I've abrogated my contract with The Tree Man. This is pretty disappointing because while I was given multiple excuses why they never performed the work, at the end they had just sort of given up on even trying. Big disappointment and they wasted nearly five months of my time as well and at the end of it I have to begin the process all over with another service. read more

When a windy weekend came up and dropped a sizeable branch onto my back deck, I knew it was time to get someone out. Roberto and his crew came out yesterday to do a lot of detailed Live Oak, Bay, and Valley Oak tree-top pruning and thinning. We need it done almost every year to open up our views to the bay. As I just found a tree leaning on my house, my first call goes to Aaron at the Tree Man who did an amazing and very reasonable job removing seven giant eucalyptus from my backyard sometime back. For that job, I called for several bids which ranged drastically in price. It was a very tough job with trees that were fifty feet high and at the back of the lot, requiring that very heavy cuttings be dragged through the garden to the street. Aaron promised that he could move the cuttings without damaging my garden, a promise that seemed impossible to keep. But Aaron was as good as his word. His climber was a sight to behold. I called the Tree Man on the recommendation of a neighbor. I have a large, old oak tree in front of my house that required extensive pruning. The tree is a centerpiece on my property and I wanted to ensure that the work on this valuable tree would be done skillfully. The arborist at the Tree Man is Aaron Corbiere. He came with a crew and did extensive work removing excessive growth that could cause wind damage, and reshaping the contour of the tree. The quality of the job was first rate. Even my (somewhat picky) neighbors were pleased. The crew cleaned up completely before they departed. The price was perfectly fair, and indeed, reasonable. Searching for competent tree service is not easy. You obviously need to find a company that is knowledgeable and competent, and then find a company that will not charge enormous fees for the service. The Tree Man is a real find. Aaron is friendly, courteous, and certainly knows his way about old oak trees. Highly recommended. Well, nearly four years later, I am about to use the Tree Man again. I am pleased to see there are additional very positive reviews since my initial review. However, I am not all surprised. I knew this guy was really good way back when.
