We just had 2 trees removed by Vacarro Tree Service in Fairfax. We had a beautiful red cedar tree that was leaning heavily towards our neighbor's garage. We called and talked to Lisa who was great and very responsive. She let us know to get a permit first. We talked with Susan at the Fairfax permit office who was very helpful. She set up a review to make sure removing the tree was necessary. 1 week later the review was done and we were issued a permit. We met with Chris at our house and he explained the process and set a date for the tree removal. Today was the removal day. Chris and his crew were there at 8:00am and completely done with removing 2 trees by 11:00a They were all very professional and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. It was like magic. I originally called this service back in November, and when Chris, the owner came out, he suggested we wait until the leaves bloomed so it would be easier to more easily spot those branches which were dead and needed to be removed. It was a perfect suggestion. Today, Edwin and Mario came out and trimmed our three birch trees and thinned out one Japanese maple. They were conscientious, knowledgeable and polite. I called Vaccaro's Tree Service because we have a vintage oak that is quite large and was in despite need of being trimmed. It also had two large limbs that hung over the neighbor's house. My concern was that they might come down in a storm and it would turn into a big problem for everyone. My experience working with the people at Vaccaro's Tree Service was great. The office manager, Lisa answered the phone and was pleasant and helpful. She told me the owner, Chris, would be out the same day to take a look at it. He was and by the next morning I had a quote in my email box. It looked good and included their California Contractors number right on the proposal. That was important to me because tree work is very dangerous and that let me know I was working with professionals. I felt good about the whole thing and called Lisa back with the OK to proceed. The job was booked and went without a hitch. The two limbs above the neighbor's home were gone and the tree was trimmed to my complete satisfaction. They took all of the removed wood and leaves. It was great. In addition to the oak, I had them remove 4 smaller redwood trees. I sprung that on them later after I remembered they could be dealt with at the same time. They changed the invoice modestly to reflect the added work and did that work too.
