Clements Tree Service provided bad service to me. They did not complete the tree trimming work as he proposed to do on his photos. I hired him based on the photos and how he was going to trim and shape three trees. Clements not trim and shape trees as agreed to in our contract. Steve Clements did not act in a professional manner. I got no value for his work. Even threatened me with a law suite. I paid him in full just to get rid of him. His work is unsatisfactory. Steve Clement was quick to come by and see our trees. He gave the best quote, shared the most expert knowledge and answered all of my newbie questions. The team came by within a week to do the job. Oak, Redwood and Laurel trees were trimmed carefully and beautifully, to reduce overhang surrounding our home. The job was complete in less than an hour. The team even trimmed a few extra branches. Tidy up was great....All leaves and trimmings were removed from our garden and many steps. Steve came out and gave me an estimate to remove a diseased and dying oak tree. Within a few days Steve and his excellent crew of 4 arrived with equipment and set to work cutting the tree down branch by branch. They protected the hedge and plants under the tree and finished the entire job, including cleaning the patio and yard, in a little over 2 hours. I was in awe watching the men throw their ropes over high branches to secure the branches while cutting them off. Each branch and stump was lowered gently to the ground so as to not damange anything in the area. Steve's estimate was very fair and reasonable, and I will certainly use Clements Tree Service again. read more

BIG recommendation for Clements Tree Service! Steve and his crew rescued us many years ago in Mill Valley when a windstorm took down four huge oaks beside the house, effectively trapping us inside. They came over immediately and had the massive trees cut up and cleared away SO fast, despite the bad weather and being in high demand that day. Now, at our new house in Novato, Steve came over quickly on Wednesday when I called, took the time to assess the fifteen or so trees in the yard, and gave me a very reasonable estimate for removing the three that were dead or truly diseased. He was able to get his crew here Friday and the three trees were gone in less than two hours! The six crew were pleasant, very well organized and left the area all cleaned up---couldn't ask for better service! read more

That has led to massive issues as they pruned an infected tree that has now diseased all of my other trees. I recently had Clements Tree Service remove two large, but diseased and dying Monterey Pines from my property in Novato. This is the second time using Clements since 2012 and have been extremely satisfied with their service, professionalism, reasonable cost and attention to safety they have exhibited each time. Living in Novato I had to secure a report from a certified arborist for the trees which exceeded 24 inches in diameter to make sure the trees were not considered "historic" and to determine the necessity to remove. Steve Clements, owner and certified arborist provided an assessment, report of condition and the hazard they posed prior to removal. I live in an area deemed Urban/Wilderness Interface which means that trees like this pose both a fire and falling danger. Steve made a quick assessment, provided the report and estimate in a very quick manner considering his heavy demand. The cost was reasonable considering the size of the trees and difficulty in removal from my property up a hill to the street, and large crew who had to hand carry the wood to the chipper for disposal. (They couldn't use their crane due to power lines between the trees and the street.) The crew's foreman, Abel, worked on both occasions in the past and now. He is amazing in guiding the crew, especially the Climbers who are astounding to watch. He carefully guided both the ground crew and climbers to assure full safety. He also works extremely hard in carrying some of the down wood to the chipper truck. They were very meticulous in their clean up after each day's work. I am extremely pleased with their professionalism, safety consciousness, reasonable cost and recommend them very highly for any work you might require. Also, Julia, who is their office manager was very helpful and pleasant to work with considering the large volume of work that they handle. You can't go wrong with these folks. read more

After I called, Steve was on site within an hour, and by the end of the day he had a crew there who took the tree apart and off my roof.
