Highly recommend Carlo and his team! They removed a tree from our cramped downtown SF yard and planted a new one, handling the nursery pickup and planting from start to finish. They were incredibly professional, tidy, fast, and reasonably priced. Hands down the best tree service experience I've had. Thank you Carlo! Spencer read more

Carlos is great - Highly recommend. I had a few trees in my backyard that needed to be reshaped and pruned. One of them had been poorly pruned by someone else before, and I was worried about how it would hold up during the upcoming El Niño season. Carlos was really clear about what he recommended and explained how we could set the tree up for success going forward. He did a great job, was super friendly, and clearly knows his stuff. Great energy and great work! read more

BEWARE!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!! We found these guys through the Thumbtack app. Carlos is the owner and the person my husband felt with the whole time. He seemed legit but NOPE! We agreed on a price and while on our property agreed to additional work for X amount of dollars. He couldn't finish the work and was suppose to come back the next day but left his workers at our home until well passed 6 after nearly 10 hours of working. He rang our door bell and begged for some cash. He was all worked up about needing money to fix his truck. In the mean time he left his big work truck in the backyard as a show of faith that he would be back which he did. Well my husband the kind man he was decided to pay him in full because the man cried wolf and promised us he would be back to finish cutting the other tree because he has to rush to another job. Well he never came back! We have left numerous of messages and he keeps saying he's busy but in the mean time took on a new job that we referred him to (did that before knowing how crappy of a business owner he was). Also they did not do a good job cleaning up the yard of debris, didn't follow direction regarding placement of wood logs. All in all he took our money and never returned...yes shame on us for paying him in full but shame on him for taking advantage if our kindness. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!! read more

Highly recommend Carlos. Professional, communicative, tidy, fast, and reasonably priced.

10 out of 10. Carlos and team are great. He's professional, experienced, communicative, knowledgeable, arrives on time, and prices are reasonable. I needed a tree and stumps removed from our SF backyard. He estimated the project to take 2 - 3 hours (it took 2), got the job done, and left our backyard cleaned up and looking better than ever. Makes the work seem effortless, but is getting hard work done -- climbing up trees, hauling away huge stumps, and clearing out the root base so we can plant new trees. He has a modified stump grinder that can fit through a normal door (needed in SF). He also volunteers his services around the community. Will be using Cabrera Tree Care for all of our future tree work needs. Great value and highly recommend. read more

Carlos recently trimmed our Chinese Elm tree that's in front of our house. Over the years this tree has been very difficult to trim. Carlos did an excellent job of shaping the tree. He is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with and responded quickly to our request. We will definitely have Carlos back. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about the work of Carlos Cabrera and his crew. We sought their help in removing a large redwood stump. Carlos and an associate showed up as promised, worked hard on a steep hillside, removed the stump without damage to any surrounding plants, and hauled it off to the dump. They know what to do and work quickly. And they charge fairly. I would absolutely call on him again in the future. read more

I am struck by how professional Carlos and his team are, how easy they are to deal with, and forever appreciative of their tackling the removal of a jagged, raggedy dead redwood burl stump that other tree services hemmed and hawed about. Would definitely use their services again. Telling my neighbors about them too. read more

Mr. Cabrera pruned three mature trees in my backyard - an olive tree and two saucer magnolias. He also purchased and planted two six-foot arborvitae trees in front of my house. The work was excellent and the cost was reasonable. I look forward to working with Mr. Cabrera in the future. read more

I am a real customer i hired them to removed two un manicured palm trees each feet tall one king and one queen palm right up against my house 5 feet from my neighbor's house real tough job. These guys were the best left my house spotless when they were finished no damage to my house. They are the lowest cost out there? You cannot beat them. Good luck trying !!!job was finished in 1day. These were not easy especially during a very windy day in south San Francisco i will tell you this because he's the best one out there as far as being an arborist and professionalism and cleanliness if you go somewhere you're gonna be highly disappointed Carlos and your did a beautiful job I hope to recommend you anytime to anyone who needs to have a tree fell or just tree maintenance I don't usually give compliments to people. I'm a very particular person I did not need to be home during this endeavor he handled it, which is pretty awesome that I gotta go to work and he gotta go do his work without me staring over his shoulder you will not have to worry guaranteed read more

I put a request on Yelp to trim up a few trees. Only one company called and came out that day for an inspection. Carlos came out, provided a quote after confirming the extent of the work to be done, and based on the other quotes I received, it was a more than fair price. The following week, they came out and completed the work not only quickly but also perfectly, including a thorough cleanup. Thanks again, Carlos! read more

Carlos and his team are great. I was happily surprised when I first called and Carlos recommended I wait a few years to get my tree trimmed. It's two years later, and his team trimmed it today. They worked efficiently, were courteous and careful when moving equipment and debris through the house, and did a great job. I would happily recommend Cabrera Tree Care to friends! read more

San Francisco had bizarre weather including tornado conditions. After a wild morning - a huge backyard tree fell from our yard spanning 2 neighbors/properties. Thankfully no one was hurt but the first task was to remove the tree. On a Saturday. In a storm. I contacted Cabrera Tree Care - and Carlos answered! He was at the house in 20 minutes. Assessed this situation. And we schedule removal the following day. Professional. Honest. Concise. On time. Good team. Diplomatic (with the neighbors). Impressed by everyone. It was a dramatic day/event and not something I experience (thankfully) but I'm grateful to have worked with Carlos and his team. It made the process manageable. I'd highly recommend Cabrera Tree Care! read more

I called Carlos on a Sunday between Christmas and New Year's because a storm left a tree with a branch hanging off and I was worried it would fall onto a shed and damage the roof. Carlos came over, within half an hour of my call, and when he realized he could climb on a neighbor's roof and bring down the branch safely, he did it on the spot, solving the problem. And he only charged me for "gas money" so I gave him $30 because I didn't know how far he had driven and because it was Sunday and he came through so well and so fast. Gracias Carlos! read more

From start to finish it was a pleasure working with Cabrera Tree Care. From start to finish, Carlos was professional, skillful, and fairly priced. He is quick to respond, punctual, and communicative. Has a great eye for a tree's shape and balance. Carlos was super quick to respond to a non-urgent inquiry to trim our two backyard trees - Japanese maple and avocado trees. He asked us our expectations and added some valuable input. He showed up promptly on the work day with his team and got the job done! He was quite amenable to our requests and explained if there was something that would harm the tree and how the tree would respond. We really appreciated his pleasant demeanor and attention to detail. He cleaned up very carefully and protected our finished basement. His price was also very competitive when compared to other quotes. We would not hesitate to hire him again and have already recommended him to friends who need tree work. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Carlos! He arrived on time for my quote for a tree trimming and was extremely professional and honest in his tactics and pricing for my backyard eucalyptus. We agreed upon a date in a few weeks because he was out of town for a conference to maintain his certifications. He trimmed the tree today and there is nothing disappointing. It was trimmed exactly how we discussed (and backyard totally cleaned!). I can't wait to have him back in a year or so when the tree needs another haircut. If you need a high quality arborist, give Carlos a call!! read more

Easy, fast, and great communication! We called Carlos on a Sunday and he came over with 30 min to view the fallen tree in our backyard and give us an estimate. He was able to come back the very next morning and removed the tree easily. The fallen tree was at a strange angle that could've damaged other plants, but they were able to remove it without any further damage, which we were very grateful for. If you need any tree removal done quickly and for a fair price I highly recommend Carlos and his team! read more

Carlos came out to remove a tree stump, and did a great job at a good price. He also gave me some useful advice on our DIY landscaping plans, and made sure we're ready to be successful planting a new tree where the old one was. Carlos was responsive. Reasonable and has strong knowledge of trees in San Francisco. Highly recommend

While we initially had some difficulty getting though to Cabrera Tree Care, this turned out to be because Carlos was out of the country at the time. Actually, he did phone even before returning, came out yesterday and furnished a fair estimate and also made suggestions regarding some questions we had about prudent trimming, and today took care of our fairly modest job with dispatch, professionalism, and utmost courtesy, notably cleaning up thoroughly upon completion. Highly recommended. As an aside, he also apparently attracted a visitor (or perhaps protestor), in the process (see photo below). read more

It was a pleasure to work with Carlos and his team! He was quick to come by and provide a competitive quote to prune 4 overgrown trees. Once we decided to move forward with Cabrera Tree Care, Carlos was very communicative re: scheduling. It was a bit tricky with all the crazy rainy weather, but we were able to schedule quickly (faster than other services). The Cabrera team showed up on time - in fact, a bit early! - and got started right away. They were very professional and did a great job great thinning out and shaping our four trees. They were extra careful with their equipment and did a thorough job cleaning up afterwards. We are very happy with their work! Not only do the trees look much nicer, we get more light in our home and can walk under our trees without ducking. I highly recommend Carlos and his team! We will definitely work with them again when our trees need their next pruning!! read more

This review is overdue, since it is for a job that Carlos made in March 2023. (soon after, I had to travel overseas and returned to San Francisco only recently). I needed a large avocado tree removed from the back yard of a duplex in San Francisco. Tight space, access only through a garage and a family room. Got several estimates with prices ranging from just over $ 2000 to $ 6,000 (!!!) (somebody actually quoted by phone a very competitive price but when he came to see the location, the estimate doubled...). Carlos was among the least expensive, and sounded very professional. Not only he did a very good and fast job, but his (and his crew) attention to avoiding any damage to the living area the branches and stomp had to go through was remarkable. On top of it, very friendly and cordial: a pleasure to chat with him. Should I have other similar projects, I will not hesitate to call him again read more
