Fabulous job on my large overgrown shrubs. What's especially wonderful is that afterwards I wasn't quite sure how much had been done. That is, what I saw was what I should have been seeing all along! So that's real testimony to the excellence of CC Tree Design's work. Highly recommended by me. read more

The overall experience with every element of Christopher Campbell Tree Design was very good - from the initial assessment with Chris, to the constant contact with the office regarding scheduling, to the team who came out in the rain and handled the job pleasantly and professionally! I have two avocado trees that have suffered through years of drought and questionable pruning. They developed into a significant part of the ecosystem and ambience of the backyard, and landscapers had told me that I would lose them with their design. I did not want that to be the case; I turned to a trained arborist - Chris Campbell...what a great move! It's been 3 months post pruning, mulching, and the recommended watering. The trees look healthy, full, green...and there's fruit. They help block highway nose/pollution, while creating a nice respite in the backyard. I'm grateful for the professional assessment and treatment of these trees. read more

Christopher is not just an arborist but a tree and plant life advisor. He has helped us in many ways over the past few years: 1. Pruning our huge cedar tree with a complicated trunk structure. 2. Pruning other smaller trees, with an eye toward tree health and windowing of views. 3. Advice on a tree root system and the best way to improve the health of a root crown. Christopher and his team have been kind and thoughtful, always on time, respectful of our home and garden, and exceedingly easy to work with. His team has a great rapport with neighbors, left our job site spotless (cleaner when they started), and is a trustworthy and friendly group. Additionally, Christopher has taken the time to educate my wife and me on the best way to care for our trees, has been available between appointments to talk, and has helped us learn more about tree care. Overall, Christopher loves what he does, which shows in how he and his team show up. I cannot recommend CC Tree Design enough! read more

I contacted CC Tree Design to inspect and write an arborist report on the condition of my tree. Christopher was thorough, meticulous, and friendly. Communications were fast, quotes and site visits were timely, and the report was delivered quickly. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future! read more

I'd give ten stars if I could. This is year 4 or 5 Christopher and his team have trimmed my trees and I have yet to be anything but thrilled with their work. In addition to doing so much careful trimming by hand, and meticulously cleaning afterwards--they also cleaned up a huge mess of pulled weeds and leaves *I* had left that didn't even belong to them. Christopher is the ultimate professional: knowledgeable, communicative, kind, and it's plain that besides just being good at his work, he genuinely cares about the trees. He also hires the best people. And Samantha in the office likewise is wonderful. Hands down the best arborist in town! No one is better! read more

Carlos was on time with a helper, knew the names of all the trees and bushes to be pruned down, did 14 of them in 1 day very nicely, dug up a tree stump, cleaned up really good and took debri away, all for a much reasonable smaller amount than other larger tree care company types. He also recommended additional care and offered tips for my interim care. He lives close so said he's on call for us for next periodical trimmings. Highly recommend his services! read more

I have had CC Tree Design work on projects over the past 20 years and the quality of the tree care has always been exceptional and the crew considerate and careful. I have used Christopher Campbell a few times and it was always unnecessarily difficult to book anything! My most recent experience, however, was the last straw. l have a dogwood tree that has now encroached onto my neighbor's home causing multiple hazards. l emailed the office manager, Sam, to see if l could get the dogwood tree trimmed, as well as a maple tree. She explained that they would have wait until spring as it wasn't safe to trim trees this time of year. Okay, maybe not, but at minimum, l need to trim the dogwood tree branch that is a major hazard. Sam kept asking for photos which l sent her along with my availability. As l work UK hours, my schedule is a bit unusual, which she is aware of. She explained that she could book one guy at a cost of $950, and asked for availability which l had already provided multiple times. A week has gone by and l haven't heard anything from Sam. Definitely looking to work with a more professional and flexible arborist. In the meantime, l hope the hazardous branches from the dogwood tree don't shatter the glass on my neighbor's window during a storm, or catch fire. lf you have a lot of time, and want to go through an arduous, stressful experience, then by all means just try to book with Christopher Campbell and get past Sam's gate keeping. After contacting her again today, she accused me of making up the fact that tree was hazardous to my neighbor's property. Seriously? Can you really tell that from a few photos? I was then accused of canceling multiple appointments. Huh? I NEVER made an appointment! Sam would not permit it! Obviously you have little regard for repeat customers and that speaks volumes! read more

Over the years we have had many arborists take care of the Coast Live Oak in our rear yard. Chris and crew did the best job of all of them. Knowledgeable and professional, they gave our declining oak a new lease on life. They did not 'strip' the branches but kept any growth on the limbs. Combined with selective pruning, the tree looks fuller than ever. We are very happy with the service they provided. read more

I have been a client of CC Tree design for many years. They are the artists of arborists. I'm particularly appreciative of the time, approach and end result of their work. The crew have always been a great combination of knowledge, professionalism, approachability and they are willing and able to accommodate. As an artist with some experience in the field, I know I've been a challenge as a client. The quality of the work and the times we live in need to be considered when paying their bill. read more

Christopher Campbell Tree Design has evaluated and pruned a large pine in my yard several times over the past eight years. He and his team allayed my fears from the start by ensuring it was healthy and opening it up so as to reduce the effect of wind on it. They preserved the beauty of the tree, and always do an awesome job of cleaning up the debris after and clearing it out of the yard. They have been consistently reliable, on time and courteous. read more

I had a great experience with these guys. The estimate was prompt and done by the owner himself and he came the day of the work to be sure his team was doing the right thing. Chris and his team are very knowledgeable about trees and seem to really love their work. They also cut up my black bamboo into small pieces so I can use it for some project in the future. We had a really great experience with CC Tree Design. Christopher spent a lot of time with us going over the job by phone and email, and gave us a very competitive bid. I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. read more

This company is completely unprofessional. I called them to give me an estimate for the removal of three trees. I left my phone number on their office recorder. Later that day Samantha called me back from her cell phone. I wrote the number down (because I'm a professional). Anyhow, there estimator did come out and evaluated the job along with my gardner, but they never sent me the quote. Finally, after more than three weeks I called both numbers and Samantha called me back. She said that they had decided to pass on the job. I asked why she hadn't atleast the common professional courtesy of calling me to let me know. She said because she didn't have my contact information. But she did because I had left it on their office recorder and she had previously called me from her cell phone. Also, I gave her my gardner (Sal's) phone number, so she could have called him to turn down the job. This company is completely unprofessional. Samantha told me that they like the big jobs. So, apparently removing three 40 to 50 foot trees is too "small-time" for them and not worthy of there time. If I had known how unprofessional this company was I would have never contacted them. I hope you find this review helpful in making your decision selecting an arborist. read more

I had an appointment with Christopher Campbell and ten minutes late, I get a call from his office saying He was going to be 2 hours late. When I told them we should cancel because another tree service was on time and had already provided a proposal, they started badmouthing the other company! Incredibly unprofessional. When I told them I found it unprofessional that they gave me such late notice, they hung up on me! Even more unprofessional! I don't care how good this company might be: they are incredibly hard to reach via phone, unprofessional in keeping their appointments, and the office staff is incredibly rude. Don't give them your business! read more

I highly recommend Christopher Campbell Tree Design for all of your tree and yard maintenance needs. Longer review below but here's the gist: -The office staff is really responsive and easy to work with for quotes, scheduling and billing. -The field staff is hardworking, professional, and thorough. -The owner is hands on, knowledgeable, client focused and not afraid to get his hands dirty. -The price is great, especially considering the level of service. I reached out for a quote for two large princess flower trees in front of my house that had been neglected since we moved in over a year ago. The office staff got back to me same day and was able to send a quote using iPhone photos and schedule the work for 2 weeks later. I didn't know at the time but I got lucky because sometimes they can be booked out 5 weeks in advance due to demand. Now I understand why! Two guys were sent out to expertly tend to my princess flower trees. Their attention to detail and professionalism was greatly appreciated as well as the effort put in to cleaning up every last trimming and even the leaf and petal debris that had accumulated over many months. Finally these tress look healthy again! Halfway through the project the owner, Christopher, came by to check on progress. It was a lovely surprise to have the proprietor make time to quality check and introduce himself to a new (now life-long) client. Christopher is a delightful person who really knows his stuff and stands behind his work. I also had some questions about palm maintenance and large overgrowth trimming in the back yard and he agreed to take a look. His office sent me a quote later that day. For the scope of work the price was very reasonable. They came back 2 weeks later and went above and beyond to get my yard tamed. I have an awkwardly terraced yard and a lot of the needed work wasn't easy to access. Christopher came out and worked along side his employees until every last palm frond and tree branch was loaded up in a truck and driven off. So far I've had two really great experiences working with Christopher Campbell Tree Design and intend to utilize their services for all future needs. read more

My street tree is a Mulberry which I had neglected to notice how overgrown it was. The branches were below the city recommended height and were aggravating pedestrians. The team from Christopher Campbell Tree Design did a fabulous job pruning it. The magic of their pruning is that you don't especially notice it was pruned - you are just suddenly aware of how fabulous your tree looks. I was actually startled when I walked out of my house this morning. I am in the horticulture industry and was once bidding a job at a rooftop condominium association in SF. When I commented on their beautiful trees, the president of the association mentioned that Christopher's company had just pruned them. I also know of Christopher because a landscape company I worked for would only recommend his services. I would also like to acknowledge his assistant Samantha who was very helpful, responsive and professional providing me estimates for varied requests. I could not be happier and highly recommend them. Christopher Campbell Tree Design is a company of dedicated, reliable, knowledgable, and highly competent tree specialists. To add a little icing on the cake, Christopher and his team were extremely pleasant to deal with throughout the large job we asked them to undertake. Our Monterey pine is beyond massive and also very precious to our neighborhood's aesthetic. We knew that bringing on a team of capable and equally knowledgable tree specialists/arborists would be the right way to go. After meeting with several arborists, CCTD was really the clear choice. Most notably, CCTD was the only company who guaranteed that there would be a certified arborist on-site and in the tree throughout the process. Most others have the arborist give the quote and send in a separate crew to do the job. We had piece-o-mind that an arborist (Christopher) would be on-site making the decisions on how to tackle the job with every cut they made. The pruning of our tree seemed to be even more massive an undertaking in a single day than we had anticipated, but the crew handled it with no problems. They were pure professionals. Not only did they take care of the tree, they also ensured that none of our other landscaping nor our deck were harmed by the debris. After all was said and done, the tree looked great, and they made sure all of the debris was removed from our yard. We would highly recommend CCTD for any small or large job that you have. Thanks Christopher! read more

Chris is very knowledgeable about trees and his staff is very professional. I have a very big Fir Tree in our yard and it has always needed special care. They did a fantastic job trimming my tree and took out two other dead trees. The crew is hard working and very polite. They checked in with me when they went to lunch and were very respectful of my property. It did take me a while to get an appointment with them and communicating with the office was some what difficult. They also did trample quite a bit of my yard which was disappointing. I was reassured the plants would grow back. It was also recommended I hire a professional gardener which I thought was a little rude. But they did a GREAT job with my trees... read more

I recently wrote a review for this business which for some reason ended up being filtered. Christopher Campbell did a great job on trimming two trees for me. He was easy to get along with as well as the crew who works for him. It was clear that they were all very competent and Christopher Campbell has a wonderful sense of design and esthetics. I was very pleased with his work and would definitely recommend him. I would really appreciate having this review posted. This is a good company and deserves to be acknowledged. Thank you! read more

We contacted MANY Arborists/Tree Pruning companies for our tree pruning job. Christopher Campbell Tree Design was more responsive than most of the other companies. They provided a competitive quote (not the cheapest, not the most expensive). They ultimately did outstanding work for us, including showing up on time, working efficiently, thoroughly (but not excessively) pruning our trees, clearing away all debris and tidying up after pruning. We would happily hire them again. read more

Christopher Campbell Tree Design has been keeping our trees in great shape since we moved into our house in 1998. Christopher's entire team has been great to work with over the years. They are always very professional, friendly, conscientious and get the job done quickly and expertly with as little disruption to us as possible. Christopher has also been very helpful in examining and diagnosing our trees when they are appear to be sickly and getting them well again. So ... we woke up yesterday to find a tree branch (from giant tree next door) had fallen on our new sunroom. It didn't look too bad ... but with a storm coming, we wanted it taken care of soon. Chris came by personally to check it out same day. He and his crew were onsite the following day to remove the limb ... alas the situation was MUCH worse than it looked. 4 guys, 2 chainsaws and tons of safety equipment, and bracing to make sure more of the tree didn't fail (and take my house out with it!) Chris gave estimates all the way ... we had two other arborists previously and Chris' professionalism, knowledge and concern for saving us $$ was truly extraordinary. I'm so impressed. I highly recommend Chris. So refreshing to work with someone who is ethical, professional and has integrity. He was concerned that after filling two trucks, they needed to still leave a pile of tree debris for later removal. Yes, honest tree professionals do exist! read more

Two of our neighbors recommended Christopher Campbell Tree Designs so we hired them to re-shape our GIANT holly tree in the backyard. Chris himself came over to understand what we wanted, see the tree, and provide a quick estimate which met our budget. He even made recommendations on how we could enhance our backyard small pear tree and another tree in front of our house which another company had incorrectly advised us was dying in the past. Chris and his crew were punctual, polite, professional, and courteous. They made all 3 trees look gorgeous- new life! - for the same low price he'd quoted me for just the GIANT holly tree, not a penny more. They cleaned up all the clippings and dirt perfectly afterward. They even cut and cleaned some giant hedges I would have otherwise had to pay a yard service to do! We will definitely entrust our trees to this wonderful local business in the future! read more

Christopher Campbell and his team have been taking care of the 7 olive trees on our street for the past 5 years. After each one of their visits we get messages from our neighbors "trees look great!" "Thanks for taking such good care of the trees!" We feel very lucky to have such skilled and knowledgeable people taking care of our home landscape. Christopher & Co. are professionals in every way: they show up when they say they will, they provide accurate estimates, perform beautiful, careful work and leave the place in impeccable shape when they go. Christopher is also not one to try to pressure anyone into having things pruned or clipped or treated because he can-- we suspect his preference is to leave things alone, really -- this is not a business that's going to try to sell you things you don't want. read more

Yep, they're good! I was very unhappy with the tree-trimming company my landlord was using and found this company because a neighbor works for them...my landlord not only hired them but is now using them on his other properties. Christopher came by and we went over everything that needed to be done. He was very thorough and adhered to the budget. He is very knowledgeable and gave me some really good tips. I found the workers who did the job to be careful and courteous. So glad to find them so the lemon trees and the viburnum are now well-taken care of. read more

Christopher Campbell and his team are without comparison. Christopher is extremely knowledgeable, professional, conscientious and an all around nice person to work with. We first met Christopher in 2006 when the very large tree in our backyard was ill and ready to topple over onto our house. He diagnosed the situation and took out the tree without any damage to the adjoining structures. But Christopher is not just great at removing sick trees! We asked him to re-plant new trees and landscape the yard. Again, he and his team were so knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with and our backyard looked fantastic. I kid you not- we asked Christopher to tackle a third project. We recently moved and our new yard needed trees and landscaping. Christopher hand picked two types of apple trees, a cherry blossom, Meyer lemon tree, and more. He literally texted me photos of the trees from the nursery. Again, the yard looks amazing. Each tree is thriving. He also suggested someone for the irrigation/lighting and another for built in seating and garden bed. Christopher brought the whole team together for a seamless project. I can not offer a higher recommendation! read more
