Jorge and his team did an amazing job. We had a really big pine (over power lines) that needed to come down and they handled it without incident. The work included stump grinding as well as removal of a couple of juniper trees and various dead trees/plants. Super responsive, hard working and reasonable price. Highly recommended!! read more

We had several trees in our yard that needed some love -- a few large branches that needed to be removed, as well as some proper pruning and shaping. Jorge and his team did excellent work. They showed up on time, completed the job in under 2 hours, were friendly and very easy to deal with. They hauled everything away, leaving yard in much better shape than they found it. Jorge is an arborist, and his knowledge of individual trees and what they need to thrive is obvious when you talk to him. You immediately know that you and your trees are in good hands. I would recommend him to anyone whose yard needs some professional attention. We look forward to working with him again! read more

I've worked with Jorge for over 10 years and it is always a pleasure. He and his crew do excellent and careful work every time, including the work they did just yesterday. I especially appreciate the fair pricing, solid clean up at the end of the job and doing things like taking care to leave bird nests in tact. read more

Great experience with Jorge and his crew! The fire department required a huge amount of fire mitigation work on my large property : removal of dead trees and limbs, removal of acacia trees, limbing of trees, trimming back overhanging limbs, and much more. He gave me a very reasonable quote, and did it all in two days. He was pleasant, professional, reliable, skilled and just great to work with. This is maybe our third or fourth job with him and we'll for sure be hiring him again. Highly recommended! read more

Jorge and his crew are tops in my book! Our yard has a wide variety of trees under Jorge's care since 2020, and we couldn't be more pleased. I was particularly grateful when, in August 2023, the Vegetation Management Report required six, tall Italian Cypress cleared away within a short time frame. Jorge came, scoped out the project, and fit us into his schedule to meet our deadline. Whew! Then, in June 2024, under more normal circumstances, Jorge directed his competent crew to do a normal maintenance which meant pruning 7 Live Oaks, 2 Cedars, a tall majestic Redwood, a fruitless Mulberry and fruitless Pear in back; a stately Sycamore shading the driveway; and a Valley Oak and Live Oak in front. We talked about the Modesto Ash in front and decided to leave that until September because of the nesting Woodpeckers. The crew chipped all the cuttings and, as requested, left a pile of fragrant chips on the apron of the driveway, which eventually covered my whole yard. As usual, his price was fair. Yes, Jorge Calderon runs his business with compassion for people and birds, competency, and care. We're lucky to have him. read more

Jorge was directed by a neighbor and illegally tresspassed and cut the tops of the redwood trees to give his client a better view. I would not recommend a service with these values. He also cut the guy's olive trees off straight at the top leaving everything very ugly. He would not call me back when I tried to discuss it with him, so I am leaving these pictures and reviews here. They also let heavy branches and trunk fall and damage smaller trees as well as trampled flowers. read more

Horrible service. Doesn't respond to calls and a very disrespectful crew. Find some other tree pruning service!! read more

Our cabin burned down in the 2017 Tubbs Fire. As part of the rebuild permitting process, we had to clear trees within a 100' radius of the build site. Jorge's Tree Service provided the most competitive bid, but the work he and his crew did was top notch. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with all details, and he his company has since undertaken other large projects for us in Mill Valley and Muir Beach. Highly recommended! read more

Jorge and his crew did a great job attending to our huge, old pine tree in the front yard. Due to fire abatement, we needed only the dead branches cut off. He gave us a very reasonable price, handled the job efficiently, and cleaned up all the mess. The service was excellent. The crew knew exactly what they were doing and were very professional. I highly recommend Jorge's Tree Service and will definitely be calling them again. read more

Great service! I am very pleased with the work Jorge and his crew have done on our property. They did extensive work removing very large trees with ease. Very efficient and followed the rules set forth by our permit we obtained. The rates for his services are reasonable and we appreciate that as we will be repeat customers. Thank you Jorge. read more

We got 3 estimates for some tree work, went with Jorge as his was the lowest. We have used Fosec in the past and should have gone with them for $200.00 more. The crew showed up on a rainy day which surprised us. They worked on and off for about 3 hours. We feel like the job we discussed was not done, we wanted more limbs trimmed which we had discussed during the estimate. But because of the rain we did not assess the job like we should have. Also the website says they take credit card. When we tried to pay they insisted on a check. We went with them not only for price but also they did have good reviews. Maybe we just got them on a bad day. read more

I just hired Jorge and his team to remove a 110ft tall laurel tree on a difficult hillside above my home. They did a fantastic, careful and professional job for a very reasonable price. They were careful to ensure that all branches were lowered by rope to the ground to protect buildings, landscaping etc. I could see how experienced and expert they were. I highly recommend Jorge Calderon and his company for any type of tree removal, no matter how big. I will definitely use them again! Mike A., San Rafael, C read more

Jorge and the team came out again to take care of the tree in the front yard - fair price, professional and fast, tree looks great.

Jorge and his crew exceeded my expectations. He was easy to work with, professional, and timely. His crew worked 2 days straight removing trees and pruning back all other trees in our yard. His prices are fair, they provide quality work, I highly recommend hiring them. read more

On August 28th, I had a very large limb fall from my mature valley oak heritage tree in my backyard (most likely due to "sudden branch drop syndrome," brought on by the drought and the extreme heat of 100 degrees that day). I was very fortunate that there were no injuries or damages! I quickly obtained many quotes for the tree's removal (or its significant pruning, although I just had the tree pruned 30 days prior - to the day - because I had noticed that a much smaller branch had fallen onto my roof). Jorge was one of the first contractors who responded quickly and provided me with reasonable quotes. Once the city quickly determined that the tree needed to be removed (especially since it dropped another branch a few days later after the large limb failure), I contacted Jorge to schedule the removal. He was very knowledgeable about the city's requirements (even responding over the Labor Day weekend). Because the tree needed to be removed asap since it dropped yet another branch after the first two, I could not use his crew, only because they were already committed to another job. However, I would not hesitate to use him in the future or recommend him based on his outstanding service, especially in critical situations. I will absolutely keep him in mind for maintenance on my remaining trees. read more

Jorge and his team did a good job with the tree removal. Unfortunately, they did not do a good job with the clean up. I had to reach out to him about the clean up, and he sent out a few guys the next day. However the clean up was not adequate. There was debris from the removal of three trees, left behind in our neighbor's driveway as well as around our property. We also contracted for tree trimming. When initially discussed, Jorge promised to trim the tops and thin out the trees to create uniformity and encourage/make space for new growth. I'm not an arborist, but this was not well done. He basically trimmed the top portion of the trees, nothing else. They were careful working around our existing plantings, which we appreciated. read more

Extremely professional and does quality work. Will definitely be using Jorge again for tree service down the road. Highly recommend!

Jorge's Tree Service receives a five star review for the following reasons: 1. The owner answered my telephone call directly. He mentioned that he was in the midst of a job and would call me back later that day. He followed up with the phone call during the pre specified time frame. I appreciate that calls are returned as planned. 2. He arrived for the estimate appointment as scheduled. He answered my questions in an knowledgeable and meaningful way. 3. His pricing was reasonable. 4. The job was performed with professionalism - care for the surrounding property and landscaping. 5. The work crew was organized, cleaned up after each day's work, and were friendly. As a reminder, I do not post reviews of small businesses that provide mediocre or poor services. I understand the challenges of operating a small business and will contact them privately for underwhelming service or performance. read more

Jorge's Tree Service has done work for me multiple times, and has always done a great job. They are fast, efficient, and affordable. Definitely contact them for a quote if you need work done, and I think you'll be impressed. There is a recent negative review posted by Joy G who is a neighbor of mine who never used Jorge's for work. She is unhappy that we were issued a permit to remove trees and that Jorge's did the work. Her negative review was posted just because she didn't like that we removed the trees, and is wrongfully taking that out on the company that did the work. read more

I cannot more highly recommend Jorge and his employees. They are professionals and always get the job done right. I've used Jorge for many years on numerous jobs and have always been satisfied with his work. Jorge treats every project like it's his own home and will go above and beyond to make you feel like part of the family. If you're not sure where to start or need advice, Jorge and company are your best bet. I will continue to use Jorge for all my tree and landscaping services. read more

Jorge and his crew bailed us out a few years ago when a large oak fell on our house and cottage due to copious amounts of rain (remember when it rained?). The tree went through the cottage roof and water was leaking into it. We were in a bind and other tree company's inflated bids took advantage of our situation. Jorge's bid was fair and they went to work right away. Impressive. So fast forward to now and we just had Jorge and crew remove a dead Monterey Pine and trim back some oaks, acacias, etc. Same results; great experienced crew, very accommodating, nice cleanup, fair price. Jorge is our go-to tree guy. read more

This is the 2nd time that Jorge and his crew have done work for us and he is highly recommended. We have a house with oak trees on a very steep hill and both times he and his crew completed the job of trimming and removing all of the dead wood, branches and lugging all of the wood to a safe staging area in the front of house so as not to block the street with wood. Today, he even had his crew help my husband in the back yard by removing scotch broom while he dropped the chippings off. That was not included in the estimate and the extra help was so appreciated! I cannot say enough good things about him and his crew. Please don't hesitate to contact him. He is very responsive getting back to you and so thorough!! read more

These guys were amazing. I took a chance on them after i passed their truck on the 101, and I'm so glad that I did. Jorge and his team were gracious, generous and a delight to work with. Jorge and his competent and efficient team performed substantial tree work on my property, all in the course of 1 day (today, in fact). Jorge and his crew were on time, and the tree services performed throughout the day were well coordinated and guided by Jorge. Jorge's Tree Service - The remains of a large old Pine tree. - Tree Services Near Me - San Rafael, California

This is the second time we used Jorge's Tree Service. Once again the crew came on time and did a tough job of clearing downed trees and piles of dried out old vines. I was astounded at how quickly the mess disappeared and at a more than reasonable price. As a bonus, they cleared out weeds and invasive plants growing all along multiple flights of stairs. Finally, Jorge himself is good man, full of humor and tree knowledge. We will be using him in the future. read more

Excellent service and fair prices. We had a large oak tree suddenly lean after the rain storms, and Jorge Calderon's team came immediately to stabilize the tree for safety. He was then able to expertly trim the weight and actually save most of the tree and my yard aesthetics -- and save me $$ money also. I suspect many others would have gladly charged me more and just take the whole tree down. His crew was polite and careful with our other plantings, and they cleaned up so well one could hardly they had been here. I highly recommend Jorge's Tree Service. read more
