Emilia D. was so amazing to work with, made me feel at ease, picked up on how I was feeling about adjustments without me having to even vocalize - you can tell she's a master fitter. It took three visits total, and I never felt stressed about the process: I always knew what was being done and when my next appointment was. Upon entering the light, airy space (with a killer view), I knew immediately I found the right place to tailor my Commes des Garcon jacket. Awful bridal experience. Found stains on my dress the day of my wedding. My weight and my body was constantly questioned and they kept telling me how "my body would be changing a lot over the next few months", regardless of the fact that I did not share any plans to lose weight. I had five appointments and on the fifth one, two days before the wedding, my dress was still not ready. I would come in early for my appointment and only be seen 30 minutes after my time. Diana said as I was leaving crying my money was being refunded, but instead I was contacted by an attorney for ALTS who wanted me to sign a document to not post a review about my negative experience. I am here to tell you. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOTHES HERE! This place only has good reviews because they refund people's money to not say negative things. This is a scam, with untrained tailors who destroy clothes permanently. I have included the letter that they requested I sign to "keep quiet" they have been offering these people to try and keep their reviews positive even though their work is horrible! read more

I called two weeks before my wedding with a dress emergency. Within the hour I was meeting with the manager and two tailors to assess the repairs needed and 4 days later I had my fitting. They are extremely professional and the store is tastefully decorated and relaxing. Elaine, the tailor who fixed my dress, made me feel comfortable and taken care of and her finished work was exquisite. Time was of the essence so she personally went to the garment district and picked out the dress liner and fixed the beading on the dress by hand - a project that took three full days. Atef replaced the lining on my favorite winter coat that I intend to wear till one of us dies (which is more likely to be me first than the coat). They also repaired the pockets. They initially forgot about them so I did have to come in twice and this is why I am rating at a four star right now. However they were very nice and did an excellent job and used a more suitable pocket fabric for the job. End result - my coat gives me joy again and it has no holes in the lining! I also had a cocktail dress altered here to raise it up at the shoulders. That went off without a hitch! And for what it's worth, this is a very nice-feeling place with a beautiful view out of the window. People greeting you are super friendly and sweet. It feels good to come in. I will definitely go back whenever I have something to alter and I will update the review rating as I get more things done here, with any hope to a five star! read more

THE BEST PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRIDAL! LOTTA IS AN ANGEL! I had truly the best experience at the SoHo location of Alts with my alteration angel Lotta. Lotta made me not 1 but 3 different outfits for my wedding weekend which became some of the most special details of my whole wedding. Lotta could not have been sweeter or more talented. She has such an incredible eye for design & was so amazing handling the family heirlooms which we reworked into incredible modern pieces. We reworked my mom's rehearsal dinner suit (made the top fit correctly & turned it from a top & skirt to a top & pants to fit my style & measurements), used pieces of my mom & MIL's wedding dresses to make a new family heirloom robe (which I wore while getting ready the morning of my wedding) AND my mom's wedding dress which we turned into my second look. My mom & I were both overjoyed at how these alterations paid homage to her. It was so special & exceeded even my highest expectations.
